Reply to CopyCat Rejection - what documents are required to verify that the app is mine?
if I am a solo developer with every right to my own app. I don't think that's the point. You could be a solo developer, having fully developed the app but have designed it very similar to another app. Or your app name or visual appear too similar to an existing app. The fact that it is on another store does not matter for the reviewer. Have you searched the appstore for such similar app ? Once you have found you could either modify your app or try to explain to reviewer why it is not copycat (more difficult).

App rejected due to content that resembles one or multiple third-party sports teams and/or leagues.
Dear all, I published a new version of my football app yesterday and Apple rejected the app with the following message : Guideline 4.1 - Design - Copycats Your app or its metadata appears to contain misleading content. Specifically, your app includes content that resembles one or multiple third-party sports teams and/or leagues. Next Steps You may attach documentary evidence in the App Review Information section in App Store Connect. In accordance with section 3.2(f) of the Apple Developer Program License Agreement, you acknowledge that submitting falsified or fraudulent documentation can result in the termination of your Apple Developer Program account and the removal of your apps from the App Store. Once Legal has reviewed your documentation and confirms its validity, we will proceed with the review of your app. Alternatively, please remove the third-party content from your app and its metadata. Checking similar threads on Internet, I understand that I need property rights of the football teams / l

CopyCat App Rejection
Apple is repeatedly rejecting our app and saying, that it's copying ITSELF. We don't know what to do and seem stuck in an infinite loop. Attaching documents, comments, etc. does not work. Has anyone ever had this happen? We have resubmitted 3 times now and each time it's saying Specifically, your app includes content that resembles TV Red. Our app IS TV Red. We ARE TV Red.

4.1 Design Copycats - App Store error solved
I got this error on version 1.0 and 1.1 of my latest app I submitted. They helpfully attached the cause of the error which happened to be two images, which even though it was copyright free, were somehow causing this error. They were in my launch screen and in app icon. So I uploaded my 1.1 version removing the images from my Xcode asset folder, app icon, and launch screen, and also in the iPhone screenshots on the submit page. Again I got the same error, and while waiting for the build to be distributed, I realised I hadn’t removed the trouble-causing image from my iPad screenshots. Once I removed it from there, it was a breeze. So look at the attachments they send, if it's images that's causing the error, remove them from all places where you have uploaded. Hope it helps.

Guideline 4.1 - Design - Copycats (Please demonstrate your relationship with any third-party brand owners represented in your app.)
Hi devs,we've got an app rejection and the next step is:Please demonstrate your relationship with any third-party brand owners represented in your app.I tried to google and also searched this forum but couldn't find a clear answer/instruction. Therefore I seek your help. Of course I wrote Apple in the resolution center but I didn't get a message back until now, so I'm trying to reach out to the community.Project setup:We: Developer of the app with an App Store account where the app should be published.Agency: Our client, an agency without AS account.Client: Big company without AS account. The app contains the name and logo of the client. This seems to be a problem for Apple now and therefore the rejection. Here's the complete message in the resolution center:Guideline 4.1 - Design - CopycatsYour app or its metadata appears to contain misleading content. Specifically, your app includes content that resembles [CLIENT] without the necessary authorization. Please see attached screenshots for details.Next StepsPleas

complaint about the fake activities of two app creators
I am writing to make a complaint about the fake activities of two app creators , which you should take a serious action against them. PDF Scanner & Editor + (https://apps.apple.com/us/developer/hq-tools/id1676624003) Good PDF Editor (https://apps.apple.com/us/developer/khelp-tim-tov/id1650247356) Previously, I had reported these two apps, (https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/718992 ) and now again. These two apps are using spamming strategies and tries to exploit App Store leaks on their marketing.

These two apps are exactly same as each other, and it has been creating by one creator, With Different name, But even the seller name has same pattern, Both has TOV expression at the end, It is obviously shown these two apps which are exactly same as each other, has one Creator. Seller: SKOL LTD, TOV Seller: KHELP TIM, TOV Recently Appstore took an action against a leak of the Appstore and those creators who used the word Good in the title of their App Event or name of the app, Now if you look at these

Reply to Can I make apps that iOS has that option already?
If you mean an app that is similar to an app Apple already offers, such as a reminder app, then sure. But please keep in mind that you cannot simply copy Apple's Reminders (or any of their apps) or other apps on the App Store, and tweak it a bit, then publish that. Per the App Store Submission Guideline: 4.1 Copycats Come up with your own ideas. We know you have them, so make yours come to life. Don’t simply copy the latest popular app on the App Store, or make some minor changes to another app’s name or UI and pass it off as your own. In addition to risking an intellectual property infringement claim, it makes the App Store harder to navigate and just isn’t fair to your fellow developers. So simply put, do not copy an existing app with minimal changes, have one or two exclusive features that really make it appealing to users of other reminder apps, for example. Hope this helps. Best of luck!

Reply to How to adapt RunLoop to swift concurrency(async/await)
Thanks for the links and sorry to haven't followed up quicker. I think I've not been able to explain what I expect to achieve (or even if it ever will be possible), I hope this time I will. I understand that swift concurrency actors/Tasks are not in the same conceptual world than Runloops/Threads. What I would expect to be able to do is to replace the Runloop code with something equivalent to RunLoop.current.run(until: Date()) but in Tasks/Actors world. await MainActor.run(forInterval: 0.1) Or even better, what I would really like to achieve is to replace that piece of code (that Runloop snippet that I've copycat from some people unit tests code) that tries to force UI events processing.

Reply to Apple Weather app vs Weather Pro from Luni - copycat ?
I was hoping for a more reasonable answer, something constructive. Not unverified assumptions. It appear that Apple Weather app does have a design patent for the search city menu. As this one was registered late 2021, I am trying to understand why Apple would fill such a design patent when they have an anti-copycat guideline. Aren’t apps design protected by copyright or trade dress ? So, in the hope of a possible answer, I would ask it differently. Can someone release a weather app with the same design as the Apple Weather app ? As a picture says much more, I add a screen of the 2 apps I mention in my first post. Try to guess which one is Apple one. I’ll end by mentioning that there are plenty of weather apps in the App Store. All of them have different designs. So why one would simply copy the look and feel of another app ? Unless Apple and Luni have an agreement, I do not understand.

Apple Weather app vs Weather Pro from Luni - copycat ?
Hello everybody, I was wondering how is that possible that the app Weather Pro from Luni (https://apps.apple.com/bb/app/weather-by-luni/id1137406490) can be the exact same app than the Weather app from Apple ? It's the same design, with some added features. Maybe Apple copied Luni, or the opposite, but according to 4.1 of Apple guidelines, I thought this would fall into copycat ? Thank you for any possible explanation.

Submission Issue: Guideline 4.1 - Design - Copycats
Hello, In my application I am using OpenAI's API to fetch responses inside my application. When I submit apple review they only give me this information for what is wrong with the application. Your metadata appears to contain third party content. Specifically, the app leverages OpenAI. The next submission of this app may require a longer review time. So, I would assume from this response I would not need to submit anything else. I have resubmitted and they gave me the same response. I have asked them what else I would need to add to the application, but they respond with: We are not able to provide feedback on app concepts or features, but we recommend evaluating your app against the App Store Review Guidelines, as well as the iOS Developer Program License Agreement (PLA), and the Human Interface Guidelines. I am going to try asking for more guidance for what extra I need to submit. But has anyone received issues with using API's? and how did you resolve this issue in App Store Review? Thanks in advance, Chri
