iPad Pro M4. Panic. Freezing and Restarting Daily Without Heavy Usage
I purchased an iPad Pro M4 in early December, and since day one, I’ve been experiencing a recurring issue. Almost every day, at random times, the device freezes for 1–5 minutes and then restarts itself. The tablet is not under heavy load when this happens — I mainly use it for light tasks such as watching videos in a player or Safari browser, web surfing, and reading books. The issue has even occurred while the iPad was idle and locked; it froze, displayed the Apple logo, and rebooted. I brought the device back to the store where I purchased it, and they sent it for a diagnostic check. However, the experts concluded that the device is fully functional, and no defects were found. After one of these crashes, I noticed that my Apple Pencil started lagging (see video file IMG_5688.MOV). However, after another reboot, the issue with the Apple Pencil resolved itself. I’ve documented the issue with several video recordings showing the freezing and rebooting behavior, as well as error logs generated after such incidents. Device Details: Model: iPad Pro M4 Usage: Light tasks only (video streaming, web browsing, reading) Environment: No overheating, no resource-heavy applications running What could be causing this issue, and how can I resolve it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! P.S. I’ve uploaded all the device logs and videos demonstrating the issue to Google Drive. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1_R0i_iazADWo5EgStrPdgmf1XjgPP_RC?usp=sharing

Need Help Creating Demo Video for NFC Functionality (App Store Review Guideline 2.1)
Hi Everyone, I’m currently working on an app that uses NFC functionality, and I’ve hit a roadblock during the App Store review process. The review team has requested a demo video that demonstrates the app’s NFC functionality in use, as per Guideline 2.1. Here are the details I’ve received from the App Store team: • The demo video should show the app running on a physical iOS device, not on a simulator. • It needs to clearly document the NFC-related app features, user permission requests, and how the app interacts with NFC tags. My Challenges: 1. I’m unsure about the best way to visually capture the NFC interaction, as it involves scanning physical tags. 2. Are there any recommended tools or techniques for recording a demo on an iOS device that complies with Apple’s guidelines? 3. Has anyone successfully submitted an NFC app with a similar requirement? If so, I’d appreciate tips or examples of how you structured your video. I want to make sure I meet all the necessary requirements so the app passes review. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your help. Best regards, Edwin

Swift Student Challenge Playgrounds app in 3 min
I intend to participate in the Swift Student Challenge 25. I see Rules, It is mentioned that Playgrounds works should be a work that can be experienced in three minutes. However, my work does not meet this requirement. Create an interactive scene in an app playground that can be experienced within three minutes. Initially, my work was not intended for the Challenge but for the App Store. However, I decided to submit it to the Challenge, and my work and I met the requirements of the Challenge. Therefore, my work is a complete application, which makes it impossible for the judges to experience it within three minutes. It may take more time. Does this have any impact?

How to Restrict In-App Purchases to a Specific User Email or Differentiate Users?
Hello, I am implementing In-App Purchases in my app and want to ensure that only users whose email matches their Apple ID email (the account used on the device as apple account) can purchase the subscription. Is it possible to retrieve the Apple ID email from the device or verify if the email matches the user's email in the app? If this is not feasible, what is the recommended approach to differentiate users and associate subscriptions with specific users in a secure way? For instance, how do I ensure that a subscription is tied to the correct user within my app? I understand privacy constraints, but I am trying to find the best way to match the subscription to the correct user while adhering to Apple's guidelines. Any guidance or best practices would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello I have the 16 pro max with 18.3 iOS update and I've noticed my Siri stops working or responding at times. I have shut down the phone and restart in order to get it working again. Any suggestions? Will the next update focus in Siri and its changes and finally am I the only one?

Incorrect Screen time of few apps & total screen time
Hello, I am using an iPhone 15 with iOS 18.2.1, and I've noticed an issue with the screen time statistics for my app usage. Specifically, the screen time for my Google Pay app shows around 2 hours of usage on a given day, even though I only spend about a minute per transaction. Even if I assume multiple payments throughout the day, the total should not exceed 15 minutes. This discrepancy is concerning to me, as it is affecting my personal relationships and raising trust issues, as my partner is questioning what I could have been doing on the app for such an extended period. I would appreciate it if this issue could be looked into and resolved as soon as possible.

how to determine the Account Holder for a company / organization's Developer membership?
Greetings everyone, this is my first post here...thanks in advance for any guidance you may have. I work for a non-profit (charity status) and was attempting to sign up for a Developer account, with a fee waiver, in order to do some work for our organization that requires Developer access (enabling Sign In With Apple on a Discourse forum). I've received an e-mail from Developer Support saying my application was denied because there is already an Account Holder for our company's "existing membership." We are a small team that experiences a lot of turnover, and I presume this has to do with a predecessor. I've written back to support and am awaiting a reply, but am concerned they might only reply to whatever e-mail address is associated with this "existing membership" and that very well might be an inactive mailbox in our Google Workspace. I've explained all that and asked Apple if they can please let me know who this previous contact is. It's been a few days, while I'm waiting I thought I would ask if there is any other way to look up the contact for a given organization, or if I just need to wait and hope to hear back from Developer Support? Thanks for any advice.

Enable Cellular Data Usage Counter - eSIM
I have two eSIMs from different providers. One shows data usage in settings>Mobile Service>Mobile Data For ……. It shows ‘Current Period‘ and ‘Roaming ‘usage for this eSIM but not the other one. I have contacted the help desk for the provider and they say it’s not enabled. I am assuming they mean they have not set it on the sims provided Or in Carrier Bundle. Is there any way of enabling this through the device using any software tool etc.?? thanks in advance

lowQualityThumbnail in QLThumbnailGenerator stops working from 15.2
Our code is using .lowQualityThumbnail to generate a thumbnail, it stops working when users update to 15.2 . Test it with a regular jpg file for fileURL. The only way to make it work is to change it to .thumnail or remove it. It's not deprecated, is it a MacOS bug? customers don't want to keep updating the software. Everything works in MacOS 15.1 import QuickLookThumbnailing func generateThumbnail(for fileURL: URL, size: CGSize, scale: CGFloat) { let request = QLThumbnailGenerator.Request(fileAt: fileURL, size: size, scale: scale, representationTypes: .lowQualityThumbnail) QLThumbnailGenerator.shared.generateBestRepresentation(for: request) { thumbnail, error in if let error = error { print("Error generating thumbnail: \(error)") } else if let thumbnail = thumbnail { // Use the thumbnail let image = thumbnail.uiImage // Do something with the image } } }

NFC-Based Peer-to-Peer Payments in iOS
Dear Community, We are in the process of developing a mobile banking application and have a key requirement related to NFC-based peer-to-peer (P2P) transactions. Our goal is to enable secure and seamless money transfers between two devices using NFC. Business Requirement: The application will provide a feature where users can initiate money transfers via NFC. The sender starts an NFC payment session from their device. Simultaneously, the receiver starts an NFC session to accept the payment. The sender's device should be able to detect the receiver’s NFC tag and process the transaction securely. We would like to confirm whether iOS supports such a use case. Your guidance on the feasibility of this feature, along with any technical or policy-related considerations, would be highly valuable. Looking forward to your response.

Does My Swift Student Challenge App Need to Be Fully Functional?
Hi everyone, I'm working on my submission for the Swift Student Challenge and wanted to clarify something—does the application need to be fully functional in every aspect to be eligible for submission? Or is it acceptable if some features aren't fully implemented, as long as the overall experience showcases my coding skills and creativity? Would appreciate any insights from past participants or anyone familiar with the guidelines! Thanks!

Rejected for Guideline 4.3 - Spam
Hello, One of our apps has been rejected under Guideline 4.3 for spam. Our studio has been on the App Store for 10+ years and this particular app has been available for over two years without previous issue. We have submitted a couple responses to the original rejection outlining why we think our app is unique and not spam and unfortunately we have been rejected. I have also submitted an appeal and requested a phone call. This is compounded by a live issue happening in our app right now that requires a build to unblock. I added that to our review notes for submission but was rejected. We believe we have been flagged as spam in error and would like to release builds to our active players ASAP to get them unblocked and provide further value to them. Beyond submitting an appeal and requesting a call is there anything else I can do?
