After updated to Tahoe 26.2 and Xcode 26.2 it seems to have forgotten the Model Provider I had configured. I create a new Model Provider and it works fine, until I exit Xcode. When I open Xcode again my Model Provider is gone.
It all worked fine before I did the updates of MacOS and Xcode.

I'm unable to download the Metal toolchain with Xcode. When trying to do it via the command line, I get the following:

I have a project I've been working off of for a few years now that makes use of local Swift Packages. In my workspace, I have a "Kit" project that generates a framework using several local Swift Packages as dependencies.
In Xcode 12, the local Swift packages resolve correctly and compiles, but each beta of Xcode 13 gives me the error:
"[ProjectName].xcodeproj Missing package product '[LocalSwiftPackage]'"
Clearing the package cache, derived data, or restarting the application does not resolve the issue. Only Swift Packages that are remotely loaded from a URL are compiled correctly.
Using local packages to separate module code, while still being able to edit in the same project, has been essential to my workflow and would hate to see Xcode 13 release with these breaking changes, and I have not seen this issue listed in the known issues for the Xcode 13 release notes.
Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a workaround?
ChatGPT in Xcode 26.1 is super slow for me. What used to complete in a batter f seconds is now taking tens of minutes.
Context: M2 Pro MBP, Xcode 26.1, macOS 26.1. CPU stays under 50% while ChatGPT returns. Using the minimal setting. Tried restarting, have verified I have nothing running Electron, no other apps are running.
ChatGPT returns fast for the displayed content but the preview window where it renders code per line takes a few seconds per line.
I am using the latest version of Xcode 16, and I have created a GPX file in my project. However, I am unable to see or select the file to simulate the GPS location. I have attempted to uninstall and reinstall Xcode completely, but the issue persists. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? How can I resolve this? Thank you.
Hi there,
I uploaded an update bundle for the posted app, but I got a rejection message.
ITMS-90048: This bundle is invalid - Your archive contains paths that are not allowed: [._Symbols]
The XCode version I'm using is 16.2, and I've been trying to find a route using Run Script and Finder, but I don't know what the hell it is about.
Does anybody know what could cause this issue?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Out of nowhere I got some red banner on top of my iPhone 13 mini / iOS 17.5. I cannot pin point the root cause of this. What I can say is that it only happens to Simulators of a certain type, e.g. iPhone 12 and 13 mini, but not iPhone 14 for example.
I have installed Xcode 26.1.0 and 26.1.1, out of which 26.1.0 is selected:
$ xcode-select -p
/Applications/Xcode-26.1.0.app/Contents/Developer
And following runtimes:
$ xcrun simctl runtime list
== Disk Images ==
-- iOS --
iOS 17.5 (21F79) - CF933623-A258-44F8-B248-C0F25C0C343B (Ready)
iOS 26.1 (23B80) - D11C3CDC-EE3D-44CC-8B92-9B7D00B54B0B (Ready)
Total Disk Images: 2 (14.6G)
Installing the newer 26.1 23B86 runtime doesn't help either.
The Foundation Models Framework stopped working after Xcode failed to download the "Predictive Code Completion Model".
What happened was on macOS Tahoe 26.0:
Downloaded and installed Xcode 26 Beta (17A5241e)
Worked with Foundation Models framework. Everything worked fine. ✅
Opened Xcode 16.4
This triggers the downloading of Predictive Code Completion Model which then fails.
Go back into Xcode 26 Beta, Foundation Models framework no longer works. ❌ Error: "Failed to find asset: com.apple.gm.safety_deny.input.code_intelligence.base.generic - no asset"
What I've tried or checked:
Reinstalling Xcode 26 Beta
Uninstalling both Xcodes and only installing Xcode 26 Beta
Checked available space on drive (over 300 GB free)
Restarted Mac
Restarted Xcode 26
Changed wifi networks
Turned on VPN
Deleted the Library > Developer > Xcode folder and reinstalled Xcode 26

I'm trying to run my app on my iPhone and XCode is unable to detect it.
Versions (as of time of writing, these are all the latest versions)
XCode: 15.0.1
iOS: 17.1.2
macOS: Sonoma 14.1.2
What I've tried
Updating all hardware to the latest versions.
Restarting all hardware.
Clearing cache/derived data.
Using different USBC ports/cables.
Using the XCode 15.1-Beta 3 (the latest beta)
Clearing trusted computers and re-trusting
Disabling Multipath Networking (solution for someone else on the dev forums)
Creating a brand new xcode project.
Disabling all wifi/bluetooth and reconnecting
Using different wifi networks
Calling mac support (they directed me back here)
Scouring forums
What happens
I start by disconnecting my phone from my computer, clear trusted computers, restart xcode, and start (basically) from a completely blank slate. First I open XCode to my project. Then I connect my iPhone via USBC. I see that XCode says "iPhone not eligible while pairing in progress" (or something like that). I see on my phone that I must trust this computer, I hit trust, I enter my phone's passcode, then that disappears on my phone, and in XCode the message about eligibility disappears. I then click on the device selector to choose between either a simulator or a hardware device and under hardware I only see a message that says "No eligible devices connected to my mac". If I open the "Manage Run Destinations" organizer I see all the simulators there in the simulators tab, but when I go to the Devices tab, I see nothing. Sometimes when I go through this process, I can get a banner to appear up top, but still no device shows up on the left. The banner will show me that it is indeed my iPhone, but it will be missing information like "Serial Number" or "Capacity". Here's a screenshot of what I see. Keep in mind, this banner up top does not always show up when I go through this process.
iPhone CAN be detected on my other laptop
When I do this exact same thing on my other laptop, everything works just fine. Here are the specs I'm running on that laptop.
(using the same cable/wifi network/etc)
XCode 15.0.1
macOS: Ventura 13.6.1
iPhone 17.1.2 (I'm using the same iPhone)
The only difference here being the macOS version. However, the problem started on my "broken" computer while I was running a previous major macOS version. This problem is actually what prompted my to do a system update to Sonoma.
Please for the love of god, halp!!!
Hello,
I am trying out Xcode Cloud for the first time. I could connect to Github in the initial setup and had a few failed builds (package resolution error), which I resolved fairly quickly.
Now whenever I am trying to build, I get the following error:
Xcode Cloud is unable to connect to the repository “<respository-name>”. Reconnect the repository to resume builds.
I am unable to remove the connection from settings as well because it's stuck in a loading state. Is there a way to fix this?
I just submitted a feedback for this (FB9662125) but in the spirit of “share and enjoy”…
The cool new Generate Info.plist File feature in Xcode 13 crashes if you try to put an NSLocationTemporaryUsageDescriptionDictionary in your Info.plist file. Here’s a simple repro scenario:
Create a minimal iOS app (no Core Data, no tests)
Go to target settings → Info tab → Custom iOS Target Properties
Click the (+) button on any row to begin inserting a new row
Select Privacy - Location Temporary Usage Description Dictionary
Click somewhere else or press Return to commit the selection
Xcode crashes immediately
More generally, it seems that Xcode crashes any time it tries to regenerate your Info.plist file if it contains an NSLocationTemporaryUsageDescriptionDictionary, even if (for example) you manually pasted that dictionary into the file earlier. In that case, merely tapping the (+) button in step 3 above is enough to crash it.

I am unable to download the iOS 26.1 Simulator Runtime through Xcode 26.1 on macOS 26.1 (Build 25B78).
Issue Details:
When attempting to download via Xcode Settings → Platforms, the download fails with error code 41 (DVTDownloadableErrorDomain) and error code 60 (MADownloadCannotConnectToHost)
The error message states: "Failed fetching catalog for assetType (com.apple.MobileAsset.iOSSimulatorRuntime), serverParameters ({RequestedBuild = 23B80;})"
I receive HTTP 403 Forbidden when accessing mesu.apple.com/assets/
Steps Attempted:
Downloaded via Xcode Settings → Component → iOS 26.1 Simulator
Tried command line: xcodebuild -downloadPlatform iOS
Searched https://developer.apple.com/download/all/ - iOS 26.1 Simulator Runtime not listed
Tested with different networks (home WiFi, VPN, mobile hotspot)
Disabled proxy settings
Flushed DNS cache
All attempts result in the same error.
Important Notes:
Xcode 26.1 shows iOS Simulator SDK 26.1 (Build 23B77) is available
However, Xcode attempts to download Build 23B80, which appears unavailable
I experienced a similar issue previously with Xcode 16.4 requesting iOS 18.4 Simulator Runtime, which was also unavailable for download
Impact:
Without the iOS 26.1 Simulator Runtime, I cannot develop or test iOS applications. macOS 26.1 requires Xcode 26.1, which in turn requires iOS 26.1 runtime, leaving me unable to perform any iOS development work.
Questions:
Is iOS 26.1 Simulator Runtime (Build 23B80) officially released?
Is there a direct download link available?
Should Xcode 26.1 be requesting Build 23B77 instead of 23B80?
Is there any account restriction preventing me from downloading newer simulator runtimes?

I am experiencing an issue where my Mac's speakers will crackle and pop when running an app on the Simulator or even when previewing SwiftUI with Live Preview.
I am using a 16" MacBook Pro (i9) and I'm running Xcode 12.2 on Big Sur (11.0.1).
Killing coreaudiod temporarily fixes the problem however this is not much of a solution.
Is anyone else having this problem?
I am experiencing an issue where XCode reverts .xccurrentversion file in my iOS app to the first version whenever xcodebuild is run or whenever XCode is started. This means I can build the app and run tests in XCode if I discard the reversion .xccurrentversion on XCode start. However, testing on CI is impossible because the version the tests rely on are reverted whenever xcodebuild is run.
The commands I run to reproduce the issue
❯ git status
Changes not staged for commit:
(use "git add <file>..." to update what will be committed)
(use "git restore <file>..." to discard changes in working directory)
modified: Path/.xccurrentversion
no changes added to commit (use "git add" and/or "git commit -a")

I have experienced such issue in 16.3 (16E140) and 16.2 (16C5032a).
Similar issues/solutions I have found online are the following. But they are either not relevant or do not work in my case.
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/17631587/xcode-modifies-current-coredata-model-version-at-every-launch
https://github.com/CocoaPods/Xcodeproj/issues/81
Is anyone aware of any solution? Is there a recommended way I can run diagnostics on XCode and file a feedback?
I have an app on the App Store for many years enabling users to post text into clouds in augmented reality. Yet last week abruptly upon installing the app on the iPhone the screen started going totally dark and a list of little comprehensible logs came up of the kind:
ARSCNCompositor <0x300ad0e00>: ARSCNCompositor (0, 0) initialization failed. Matting is not set up properly.
many times, then
RWorldTrackingTechnique <0x106235180>: Unable to update pose [PredictorFailure] for timestamp 870.392108
ARWorldTrackingTechnique <0x106235180>: Unable to predict pose [1] for timestamp 870.392108
again several times and then:
ARWorldTrackingTechnique <0x106235180>: SLAM error callback: Error Domain=Slam Error Code=7 "Non fatal error occurred due to significant drop in a IMU data" UserInfo={NSDescription=Non fatal error occurred due to significant drop in a IMU data, NSLocalizedFailureReason=SlamEngineNodeGroup Failure: IMU issue: gyro data stream verification failed [Significant data drop]. and then again the pose issues several times.
I hoped the new beta version would have solved the issue, but it was not the case. Unfortunately I do not know if that depends on the beta version or some other issue, given the app may be not installed on the Mac simulator.
Hi there,
I successfully created an AppIntent for our app, and when I had it in the same target as our main app it showed up fine in the shortcuts app.
Then I realized that many of the new System Control widgets introduced in iOS 18 (e.g. lockscreen, control center) live in the widget extension target, but they also need to reference that same AppIntent. So to fix this, I thought I'd migrate out the code into it's own SPM package that both the WidgetExtension and the Main App processes can reference. However, after doing that and rebuilding, the intent no longer shows up in the Shortcuts app. Furthermore, my AppShortcutsProvider class now has this error when trying to define the list of appShortcuts:
App Intent <name> should be in the same target as AppShortcutsProvider
Is this intended, and if so, how do we reference the same AppIntent across multiple targets?

All is fine in Xcode15, no LLDB errors whatsoever, but in Xcode16 I can't get any variable displayed in the console because of the following error:
error: type for self cannot be reconstructed: type for typename "$......." was not found (cached)
error: Couldn't realize Swift AST type of self. Hint: using `v` to directly inspect variables and fields may still work.
I've checked the output of swift-healthcheck and there are several messages like this:
SwiftASTContextForExpressions(module: "ROA", cu: "ROA+ViewLayer.swift")::LoadOneModule() -- Missing Swift module or Clang module found for "UIKit", "imported" via SwiftDWARFImporterDelegate. Hint: Register Swift modules with the linker using -add_ast_path.
I added -add_ast_path to the OTHER_LDFLAGS in the faulty module's build settings but no luck.
How can I debug my project in Xcode16?
