Barcode Detection Enterprise API
I am attempting to use the Barcode Detection enterprise API. I have the necessary entitlements and license file. I'm following the sample code online, and whenever I attempt to run the barcode detection using arKitSession.run I get the following error message: ar_barcode_detection_provider_t <0x300d82130>: Failed to run provider with transient error code: 1 It obviously isn't running the barcode detection, even though it's running in an immersive space in mixed mode. Any idea what might be going on?

Vision Pro - Throw object by hand
Hello All, I'm desperate to found a solution and I need your help please. I've create a simple cube in Vision OS. I can get it by hand (close my hand on it) and move it pretty where I want. But, I would like to throw it (exemple like a basket ball). Not push it, I want to have it in hand and throw it away of me with a velocity and direction = my hand move (and finger opened to release it). Please put me on the wait to do that. Cheers and thanks Mathis

Issue: ARKit Camera Frame Provider Not Authorized in visionOS App
I’m developing a visionOS app using EnterpriseKit, and I need access to the main camera for QR code detection. I’m using the ARKit CameraFrameProvider and ARKitSession to capture frames, but I’m encountering this error when trying to start the camera stream: ar_camera_frame_provider_t: Failed to start camera stream with error: <ar_error_t Error Domain=com.apple.arkit Code=100 "App not authorized."> Context: VisionOS using EnterpriseKit for camera access and QR code scanning. My Info.plist includes necessary permissions like NSCameraUsageDescription and NSWorldSensingUsageDescription. I’ve added the com.apple.developer.arkit.main-camera-access.allow entitlement as per the official documentation here. My app is allowed camera access as shown in the logs (Authorization status: [cameraAccess: allowed]), but the camera stream still fails to start with the “App not authorized” error. I followed Apple’s WWDC 2024 sample code for accessing the main camera in visionOS from this session. Sample of My Code: import ARKit import Vision class QRCodeScanner: ObservableObject { private var arKitSession = ARKitSession() private var cameraFrameProvider = CameraFrameProvider() private var pixelBuffer: CVPixelBuffer? init() { Task { await requestCameraAccess() } } private func requestCameraAccess() async { await arKitSession.queryAuthorization(for: [.cameraAccess]) do { try await arKitSession.run([cameraFrameProvider]) } catch { print("Failed to start ARKit session: \(error)") return } let formats = CameraVideoFormat.supportedVideoFormats(for: .main, cameraPositions: [.left]) guard let cameraFrameUpdates = cameraFrameProvider.cameraFrameUpdates(for: formats[0]) else { return } Task { for await cameraFrame in cameraFrameUpdates { guard let mainCameraSample = cameraFrame.sample(for: .left) else { continue } self.pixelBuffer = mainCameraSample.pixelBuffer // QR Code detection code here } } } } Things I’ve Tried: Verified entitlements in both Info.plist and .entitlements files. I have added the com.apple.developer.arkit.main-camera-access.allow entitlement. Confirmed camera permissions in the privacy settings. Followed the official documentation and WWDC 2024 sample code. Checked my provisioning profile to ensure it supports ARKit camera access. Request: Has anyone encountered this “App not authorized” error when accessing the main camera via ARKit in visionOS using EnterpriseKit? Are there additional entitlements or provisioning profile configurations I might be missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I haven't seen any official examples using new API for main camera access and no open source examples either.

WorldAnchors added and removed immediately
I can add a WorldAnchor to a WorldTrackingProvider. The next time I start my app, the WorldAnchor is added back, and then is immediately removed: dataProviderStateChanged(dataProviders: [WorldTrackingProvider(0x0000000300bc8370, state: running)], newState: running, error: nil) AnchorUpdate(event: added, timestamp: 43025.248134708, anchor: WorldAnchor(id: C0A1AE95-F156-45F5-9030-895CAABF16E9, isTracked: true, originFromAnchorTransform: <translation=(0.048458 0.000108 -0.317565) rotation=(0.00° 15.44° -0.00°)>)) AnchorUpdate(event: removed, timestamp: 43025.348131208, anchor: WorldAnchor(id: C0A1AE95-F156-45F5-9030-895CAABF16E9, isTracked: false, originFromAnchorTransform: <translation=(0.000000 0.000000 0.000000) rotation=(-0.00° 0.00° 0.00°)>)) It always leaves me with zero anchors in .allAnchors...the ARKitSession is still active at this point

How do we author a "reality file" like the ones on Apple's Gallery?
How do we author a Reality File like the ones under Examples with animations at https://developer.apple.com/augmented-reality/quick-look/ ?? For example, "The Hab" : https://developer.apple.com/augmented-reality/quick-look/models/hab/hab_en.reality Tapping on various buttons in this experience triggers various complex animations. I don't see any way to accomplish this in Reality Composer. And I don't see any way to export/compile to a "reality file" from within Xcode. How can I use multiple animations within a single GLTF file? How can I set up multiple "tap target" on a single object, where each one triggers a different action? How do we author something similar? What tools do we use? Thanks

Cannot find the entitlement of Enterprise API for Vision pro
We are developing VisionOS app now, we have applied the Enterprise API for visionOS, including Main Camera Access for Vision Pro, and already get the "Enterprise.license" in the mail apple sent us, we use the developer account import the license file into Xcode: but in Xcode, we cannot find the entitlement of Enterprise API: if we put com.apple.developer.arkit.main-camera-access.allow into Entitlement file of the project manually,Xcode will alarm: and we find that the app itself dont have "Additional Capabilities" which include the Enterprise API: what should we do to have the entitlement file for the Enterprise API, so we can use the enterprise API?

Is SceneKit depricated ?
Hi everyone! I am working on AR app and wanted to implement object occlusion because it removes drift pretty much from the object. This working great with RealityKit sample But I am unable to replicate such behaviour it with scenekit. Because scenekit does not offer object occlusion. Can we say scenekit is getting depricated, and we should re-write app in RealityKit (which is obviously a big task)?

Reality Composer Project and Xcode 16
After upgrading to Xcode 16 my app, which utilizes imported project files from my iPad's Reality Composer app, now has two issues that I have found so far. I am using an ARView as a UIViewRepresentable with SwiftUI. (Prior to upgading to Xcode 16 everything worked well.) First, there are now several duplicate rcp_export.usdz resources in the "Copy Bundle Resources" build phase section. Even though each file is in a separate folder with a unique UUID, it was causing a compile error saying there are duplicate files. I was able to open the RC project folder and delete the older rcp_project versions which now allows the app to compile. I mention it as it may or may not be related to the second issue. Second, Xcode isn't generating the project code for rcproject, so when I call the RCProject.loadSceneAsync function I am getting an error that says "Cannot find 'RCProject' in scope"

VisionOS 2.0 Main Camera Access Enterprise Entitlement Not Recognized in XCode
I am working on a project that requires access to the main camera on the Vision Pro. My main account holder applied for the necessary enterprise entitlement and we were approved and received the Enterprise.license file by email. I have added the Enterprise.license file to my project, and manually added the com.apple.developer.arkit.main-camera-access.allow entitlement to the entitlement file and set it to true since it was not available in the list when I tried to use the + Capability button in the Signing & Capabilites tab. I am getting an error: Provisioning profile "iOS Team Provisioning Profile: " doesn't include the com.apple.developer.arkit.main-camera-access.allow entitlement. I have checked the provisioning profile settings online, and there is no manual option for adding the main camera access entitlement, and it does not seem to be getting the approval from the license.

Billboard Entity with AttachmentView
Hey Everyone, Happy New Year! I wanted to see if you have seen this before. I have added an attachment to the RealityView as a child on an entity that has a Billboard component set on it. I wanted to create the effect that the attachment is offset by .5 meters from center and follows the device as you move around it. IT works great until you try click a button. The attachment moves with the billboard, but the collision box around the attachment is not following it. If I position myself perfectly it works. Video Example: https://youtu.be/4d9Vx7K8MmU // // ImmersiveView.swift // Billboard Attachment // // Created by Justin Leger on 1/3/25. // import SwiftUI import RealityKit import RealityKitContent struct ImmersiveView: View { var rootEntity = Entity() var body: some View { RealityView { content, attachments in // Add the initial RealityKit content let sphereEntity = ModelEntity(mesh: .generateSphere(radius: 0.1), materials: [SimpleMaterial(color: .red, roughness: 1, isMetallic: false)]) sphereEntity.position = [0.0, 1.0, -2.0] let controlsPivotEntity = Entity() controlsPivotEntity.components[BillboardComponent.self] = .init() // Extract the attachemnt entity and disable it before its used. if let controlsViewAttachmentEntity = attachments.entity(for: PlacedThingControls.attachmentId) { controlsViewAttachmentEntity.position.z = 0.5 controlsPivotEntity.addChild(controlsViewAttachmentEntity) sphereEntity.addChild(controlsPivotEntity) } content.add(sphereEntity) } attachments: { Attachment(id: PlacedThingControls.attachmentId) { PlacedThingControls() } } } } #Preview(immersionStyle: .mixed) { ImmersiveView() .environment(AppModel()) } struct PlacedThingControls: View { static let attachmentId = "placed-thing-3D-controls" var body: some View { VStack { HStack(spacing: 0) { Button { print("🗺️🗺️🗺️ Map selected pieces") } label: { Text("\(Image(systemName: "plus.square.dashed")) Manage Mesh Maps") .fontWeight(.semibold) .frame(maxWidth: .infinity) } .padding(.leading, 20) Spacer() Button(role: .destructive) { print("🗑️🗑️🗑️ Delete selected pieces") } label: { Label { Text("Delete") } icon: { Image(systemName: "trash") } .labelStyle(.iconOnly) } .padding(.trailing, 20) } .padding(.vertical) .frame(minWidth: 320, maxWidth: 480) } .glassBackgroundEffect() } }

A question about adding grounding shadow in visionPro
I want adding grounding shadow on my Entity in RealityView on visionPro. However it seems that the shadow can only appear on another Entity. So I using plane detection in ARKit and add a transparent plane on it to render shadow. let planeEntity = ModelEntity(mesh: .generatePlane(width: anchor.geometry.extent.width, height: anchor.geometry.extent.height), materials: [material]) planeEntity.components.set(OpacityComponent(opacity: 0.0)) But sometimes there will be a border around my Entityon the plane. I do not know why it will happen, and I want remove the border.

What causes »ARSessionDelegate is retaining X ARFrames« console warning?
Hi, since iOS 15 I've repeatedly noticed the console warning »ARSessionDelegate is retaining X ARFrames. This can lead to future camera frames being dropped« even for rather simple projects using RealityKit and ARKit. Could someone from the ARKit team please elaborate what causes this warning and what can be done to avoid it? If I remember correctly I didn't even assign an ARSessionDelegate. Thank you!

RoomPlan Framework v2 - Stairs missing
Hello Community, I'm encountering an issue with the latest iOS 17 update, specifically related to RoomPlan version-2. In iOS 16, when using RoomPlan version-1, we were able to display stairs in our app. However, after upgrading to iOS 17 and implementing RoomPlan version-2, the stairs are no longer visible. Despite thorough investigation, I couldn't find any option within the code to show or hide stairs, or any other objects for that matter. It seems like a specific issue with the update rather than a coding error on our part. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem? If so, I would greatly appreciate any insights or solutions you might have. It's crucial for our app functionality to have stairs displayed accurately, and we're currently at a loss on how to address this issue. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide. Best regards

VisionOS slow image tracking and enterprise API questions
To set the stage: I made a prototype of an app for a company, the app is to be used internally right now. Prototype runs perfectly on iOS, so now I got VP to port the app to its final destination. The first thing I found out is that the image tracking on VP is useless for moving images (and that's the core of my app). Also distance at which image is lost seems to be way shorter on VP. Now I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to fix/work around it in any way and I'm wondering if Enterprise API would change anything. So: Is it possible to request Enterprise API access as a single person with basic Apple Developer subscription? I looked around the forum and only got more confused. Does QR code detection and tracking work any better than image detection, or anchor updates are the same? Does the increased "object detection" frequency affect in any way image/QR tracking, or is it (as name implies) only for object tracking? Would increasing the CPU/GPU headroom make any change to image/QR detection frequency? Is there something to disable to make anchor updates more frequent? I don't need complex models, shadows, physics, etc. Greetings Michal

Issue with tracking multiple images using ARKit on VisionOS
We are using the ARKit image tracking feature on visionOS 2.0 with three pre-registered images. The image tracking works, but only one image is actively tracked at a time. When more than one target image is visible to the camera, it has difficulty detecting and tracking the other images. Is this the expected behavior in visionOS, or is there something we need to do to resolve this issue?

VisionOS ARKit CameraFrame Sample Parameters Extrinsics
the following documentation tells me that the CameraFrame.Sample.Parameters.extrinsics is of type simd_float4x4, great! https://developer.apple.com/documentation/arkit/cameraframe/sample/parameters/4443449-extrinsics I have read in the answer of another post that this extrinsics represents the pose of the physical camera relative to the device anchor. Did I understand correctly that the device anchor is where the scene is rendered from onto the user's display? What is the coordinate system in which this offset is defined, which axis is left, which one is up, which one is forward? The last column of the extrinsics seems to define a translation of approximately 2 cm along the x axis, -2cm along the y axis and -5 cm along the z axis. I tried to measure the physical distance between the main left and right cameras in order to find out if it's rather 2cm or 5 cm from the "middle", it looks more like 5, so I assume that the z axis is looking towards the right (from the user's perspective). Is that so? For x and y, I assume that the physical camera is approximately 2 cm to the front of the user and 2cm to the bottom, which of x and y is horizontal, which on vertical? How is the camera image indexed, is it row-major and is the origin on the top left? I am looking forward to learning about all the details on these extrinsics in order to make use of it.

Create Anchor on Objects from 2D Data
We're developing a VisionOS application, where we would like to do product recognition (like food items). We have enterprise entitlements and therefore also main camera access for VisionOS. We send this live camera frames to a trained CoreML model where we will receive 2D coordinates from the model detection prediction. Now, we would like to create a 3D anchor on the detected items so it can be visible for user. The 3D anchor is going to be the class name of the detected item. How do we transform this 2D coordinate from the model prediction to a 3D anchor?

Slow Auto Focus on iPhone 16 Pro with ARkit camera
I have recently started testing ARKit on an iPhone 16 Pro and I have noticed that the AutoFocus reaction on this device is much slower than other devices. For example, if I point the camera to a close object AutoFocus takes 4-5 seconds to stabilize, the focal length is adjusted very very slowly. In some cases (although this is rare) AutoFocus seems almost stuck and requires a bit of device movement to trigger. This is quite problematic when using some ARKit features like Image and Object detection as the detection algorithms struggle with out-of-focus images. This problem is limited to ARKit. AutoFocus is significantly more responsive when the standard AVFoundation Camera API is used. This behavior is easy to reproduce with any of the ARKit samples like https://developer.apple.com/documentation/arkit/arkit_in_ios/content_anchors/tracking_and_visualizing_planes Is anybody else experiencing this problem?

VisionOS hands replacement inside an Immersive Space
Still don't understand why no one is clarifying about this Apple Video https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2023/10111 At the end of this video, there's an incomplete tutorial about connecting a USDZ with mesh and Skeleton structure to the hand tracking system. No example project is linked, and no one is giving the community any clarification. Please can you help us to understand how to proceed?
