RealityView content disappears when selecting Lock In Place on visionOS
I'm experiencing an issue where all RealityView content disappears when the user selects "Lock In Place" from the window management menu (long press on close button). "Follow Me" works correctly and this happens in Testflight builds only not reproducible when I run locally I have reproduced this with a minimal project containing nothing but a simple red cube — no custom anchors, no app state, no dependencies. Steps to Reproduce: Open an ImmersiveSpace A red cube is placed 1m in front of the user via RealityView Long press the X button on any floating window Select "Lock In Place" The cube disappears immediately Expected: Cube remains visible after window is locked Actual: Cube disappears. Note: "Follow Me" does NOT reproduce this issue. Minimal reproducible code: struct ImmersiveView: View { var body: some View { RealityView { content in let cube = ModelEntity( mesh: .generateBox(size: 0.3), materials: [SimpleMaterial(color: .red, isMetallic: false)] ) cube.setPosition(SIMD3(0, 1.5, -1), relativeTo: nil) content.add(cube) } } } Device: Apple Vision Pro visionOS version: Vision OS 26.2 (23N301) Xcode version: Version 26.3 (17C529) Is this a known issue? Is there a recommended workaround to preserve RealityView content during Lock In Place transitions? Thank you!

Real world anchors
I’m trying to build a persistent world map of my college campus using ARKit, but it’s not very reliable. Anchors don’t consistently appear in the same place across sessions. I’ve tried using image anchors, but they didn’t improve accuracy much. How can I create a stable world map for a larger area and reliably relocalize anchors? Are there better approaches or recommended resources for this?

The participantIdentifier of Shared Coordinate Space invalid in Visionos26 Enterprise api
Visionos26 Enterprise api has the new feature: Shared Coordinate Space, participants exchange their coordinate data by SharedCoordinateSpaceProvider through their own network, when shared coordinate space established with nearby participants, the event: connectedParticipantIdentifiers(participants: [UUID]) will be received. But the Event.participantIdentifier still be an invalid default value(00000000-0000-0000-FFFF-FFFFFFFF) in this time, I wonder when or how I can get a valid event.participantIdentifier, or is there some other way to get the local participantIdentifier? Or If it's a bug, please fix it in later beta release version, thank you.

RealityKit System update and timing
Hi, I'm playing now with hand tracking. I want to get position of hand inside a system update function. I was not sure if transform I'm getting from hand attached AnchorEntity (with trackingMode: .predicted) would give same results as handAnchors(at:) from hand tracking provider, so I started to read them both and compare. For handAnchors i tried using context.scene.timebase.sourceTimebase!.sourceClock!.time.seconds and CACurrentMediaTime() as timestamp source. They seem to use exactly same clock, so that doesn't matter, but: for some reason update handler is always called twice with same context.deltaTime, but first time the query finds 0 entities, second time it finds them all. The query is the standard EntityQuery(where: .has(MyComponent.self)) and in update (matching: Self.query, updatingSystemWhen: .rendering). Here's part of logs: System update called, entity count: 0, dt: 0.01000458374619484, absTime: 4654.222593541 System update called, entity count: 11, dt: 0.01000458374619484, absTime: 4654.22262525 System update called, entity count: 0, dt: 0.009999999776482582, absTime: 4654.249390875 System update called, entity count: 11, dt: 0.009999999776482582, absTime: 4654.249425 accounting for the double update calling I started to calculate time delta of absolute time between calls and they're most of the time much bigger, or much smaller than advertised by system's context.deltaTime, only sometimes they kind of match, for example: system: (dt: 0.01000458374619484) scene : (dt: 0.021419291667371) (absTime: 4654.222628125001) and the very next call system: (dt: 0.010009 166784584522) scene : (dt: 0.0013097083328830195) (absTime: 4654.223937833334) but sometimes system: (dt: 0.009999999776482582) scene : (dt: 0.009 112249999816413) (absTime: 4654.351299 166668) Shouldn't those be more or less equal, or am I missing something? In the end it seems that getting hand position from AnchorEntity and with handAnchors(at:) gives kind of same results, but at different time points, so I'd love to understand what's the correct way to use them and why time flows differently :). --Edit-- P.S. Had to put spaces everywhere in logs between "9" and "1", otherwise post was blocked due to "sensitive content" :D

visionOS 2.0 – Persist room‑fixed RealityKit entities on walls across app launches (WorldAnchor?)
I want to let users place 2D/3D “artworks” on detected walls and have them reappear in exactly the same real‑world spot after quitting and relaunching the app (like widgets do, but for my own entities).Environment: Xcode 26, visionOS 2.0, RealityKit + ARKitSession/WorldTrackingProvider Entities are parented to a holder that’s aligned to a wall via plane/mesh raycasts What I’ve tried: Create a WorldAnchor at placement, save UUID + full 4×4 transform On next launch, re-create the WorldAnchor (or set the saved transform) and attach the entity Gate restore on relocalization/mesh updates and disable all raycast/search after restore Issue: After relaunch, placement still resolves relative to current device pose, not the same wall position. Questions: Is there a public API in visionOS 2.0 to persist app‑managed world anchors across sessions (room‑fixed), e.g., AnchorStore or equivalent? If not, what’s the recommended pattern to reliably restore wall‑anchored content? Are persistence features mentioned for widgets/windows available to third‑party RealityKit entities?

Animation handling on Scene change
I work on a game where I use timeline animations in Reality Composer Pro. The game runs in an immersive space, but can be paused where I then move the whole level root entity from the immersive space to another RealityView in a Window Group. When the player continues I do it exactly the other way around to move the level root from the window group back to my immersive space RealityView. And it seems like all animations get automatically stopped and restarted when the scene gets changed. The problem is, it does not resume where it stopped before, it completely starts again from where it stopped and therefore, has for example a wrong y offset as visible in the picture. For example in the picture, the yellow sphere loops the following animation: 0 to 100 100 to -100 -100 to 0 If I now pause the game (and basically switch scenes), the previous animation gets stopped and restarted at position y = 100. So now it loops: 100 to 200 200 to 0 0 to 100 I already tried all kind of setups - like: Setting the animations relative to root, parent, local Using behaviors (on Added to Scene, on Notification) And finally even by accessing the availableAnimations directly and saving the playback controller of the animation There I saw, if I manually trigger the following code before switching the scene, everything works as expected: Button("Reset") { animationPlaybackController.time = 0 animationPlaybackController.pause() animationPlaybackController.stop(blendOutDuration: 0.00001) } But if I use time = 0 with .stop() directly, the time = 0 seems to be ignored and I get the same behavior as before that it stops in a wrong y offset, hence my assumption that animations get stopped and invalidated once they change the scene. I tried to call the code manually on ImmersiveSpace.onDisappear, WindowGroup.onAppear and different kind of SceneEvents subscriptions, but unfortunately nothing worked. So am I doing something wrong in general or is there a way to fix this?

How to make .blur(radius:) visually affect RealityView content?
According to the official documentation, the .blur(radius:) modifier could apply gaussian blur to a realityview. However, when applied directly to a RealityView, nothing inside it (neither 2D attachments nor 3D entities) appears to be blurred. Here’s the test code: struct ContentView: View { var body: some View { VStack(spacing: 20) { Text("Above the RealityView") .font(.title) RealityView { content, attachments in if let text = attachments.entity(for: "2dView") { text.position.y = 0.1 content.add(text) } let box = ModelEntity( mesh: .generateBox(size: 0.1), materials: [SimpleMaterial(color: .red, isMetallic: true)] ) content.add(box) } attachments: { Attachment(id: "2dView") { Text("Above the Box") .font(.title) } } .frame(width: 300, height: 300) .border(.blue) .blur(radius: 99) // Has no visual effect Text("Below the RealityView") .font(.subheadline) } .padding() } } My question: How can I make .blur(radius:) visually affect the content rendered in a RealityView? Can you provide a working example that .blur() to visually affect any part of a RealityView? Thanks!

UICollectionViewDataSourcePrefetching does not work on SwiftUI wrapped VisionOS
prefetching logic for UICollectionView on VisionOS does not work. I have set up a Standalone test repo to demonstrate this issue. This repo is basically a visionOS version of Apple's guide project on implementation of prefetching logic. in repo you will see a simple ViewController that has UICollectionView, wrapped inside UIViewControllerRepresentable. on scroll, it should print 🕊️ prefetch start on console to demonstrate func collectionView(_ collectionView: UICollectionView, prefetchItemsAt indexPaths: [IndexPath]) is called. However it never happens on VisionOS devices. With the same code it behaves correctly on iOS devices

Xcode fails to compile Blender-exported USDZ in .rkassets with misleading "permission" error — Xcode 26.3
The error: When building a RealityKitContent package that contains a USDZ file exported from Blender, Xcode throws the following error: error: [xrsimulator] Exception thrown during compile: Cannot get rkassets content for path .../RealityKitContent.rkassets because 'The file "RealityKitContent.rkassets" couldn't be opened because you don't have permission to view it.' error: Tool exited with code 1 The error message mentions "permission" — but permissions are not the issue. This appears to be a misleading error from realitytool masking a USD validation failure. What I've ruled out File permissions — all files are -rw-r--r--, user has Read & Write on the folder Extended attributes / quarantine flag — other files with the same @ flag work fine Corrupted archive — unzip -t confirms the USDZ is valid (board.usdc + textures) Stale build cache — deleted DerivedData and com.apple.DeveloperTools cache, no change Key observations The same file builds successfully on my colleague's machine running identical Xcode 26.3 - MacOS 26.3 Other USDZ files in the same .rkassets bundle (downloaded from Sketchfab, or created in Reality Composer Pro) compile without any issue. Only USDZ files exported directly from Blender are affected. When the file is placed in Bundle.main and loaded via Entity(named:in:.main), it works perfectly — no errors Reality Converter flags the file with two errors: UsdGeomPointInstancers not allowed, and root layer must be .usdc with no external dependencies The confusing part: the same file compiles fine on an identical Xcode 26.3 setup and importing method. This suggests either a machine-specific difference in Xcode's validation behavior, or a cached .reality bundle on my colleague's machine that isn't being recompiled. Current workaround: Loading from Bundle.main instead of the RealityKitContent package bypasses realitytool entirely and works, but loses Reality Composer Pro integration: if let entity = try? await Entity(named: "test", in: Bundle.main)

RealityKit fullscreen layer
Hi! I'm currently trying to render another XR scene in front of a RealityKit one. Actually, I'm anchoring a plane to the head with a shader to display for left/right eye side-by-side images. By default, the camera has a near plane so I can directly draw at z=0. Is there a way to change the camera near plane? Or maybe there is a better solution to overlay image/texture for left/right eyes? Ideally, I would layer some kind of CompositorLayer on RealityKit, but that's sadly not possible from what I know. Thanks in advance and have a good day!

Draw An Outline Around a Model Entity
Hi, Is there a resource or sample code about how to draw an outline around a mesh in RealityKit? Typically, this is useful for visualizing a selection, like in Reality Composer Pro. How to achieve such effect? A shader material? A post-process effect in ARView or RealityRenderer? Methods such as duplicating the entity mesh, scaling it, and using material.faceCulling = .front did not look good in my experiments. Thank you.

Difference in hand tracking between visionOS 2 and 26
I saw at WWDC25 mentions of visionOS 26 now providing hand tracking poses at 90hz, but I also recall that being a feature in visionOS 2. Is there something new happening in visionOS 26 that makes its implementation of hand tracking "better"?

MeshInstancesComponent VisionOS 26 Beta 2
Has anyone had success with MeshInstancesComponent? I tried to follow the sample code from What's New in RealityKit but it wouldn't compile. I was able to use one of the init overloads to get it to compile, but using it crashes both my device and the simulator. Even with one instance.

Thank you.
