Reply to .glassEffect() renders dark on device but works on simulator - TestFlight doesn't fix it
Hello Jmckinney, The darkened color of the button during Dark Mode is expected behavior. When placed in front of a brightly-colored gradient like in your test view, or a lightly-gray-colored background like in your sample app view, this will be the result. To fully support Dark Mode, please consult the Choose adaptive colors for your UI section of the Supporting Dark Mode in your interface guide. (The overall guide is for UIKit, but there are general principles and practices that are also applicable for SwiftUI.) The WWDC 2019 talk Implementing Dark Mode on iOS might also be helpful. Finally, the Dark Mode entry in the human interface guidelines is definitely worth a look. Thank you for your patience, Richard Yeh  Developer Technical Support

Cannot preview in this file – SwiftUI Preview referencing deleted simulator
I'm running Xcode 26.2 (17C52). After deleting all simulators and creating new ones, SwiftUI Preview stopped working. Xcode reports: “Simulator [D774B214-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXX8288] failed to boot and may have crashed.” However, when I list all available simulators using xcrun simctl list, there is no simulator with that identifier. It seems Xcode is still referencing a previously deleted simulator. I have tried: Deleting all simulators again Creating new simulators Restarting Xcode and the system But the issue persists and Preview still fails to launch. Has anyone encountered this issue or knows how to clear the cached simulator reference used by SwiftUI Preview?

In a List row on macOS, changing Image color when row is selected
When using an image in a List item, you sometimes want to tint that image, but only if the item isn’t selected. When it’s selected, you usually want the contents of the list item to be all-white, for contrast. The backgroundProminence Environment value ostensibly exists for this purpose, but in my tests, it never seems to change. Am I doing something wrong? Is there an alternative solution? For instance, this code: import SwiftUI struct ProminentBackgroundInList: View { var body: some View { List(selection: .constant(0)) { ListItem().tag(0) ListItem().tag(1) } } } struct ListItem: View { @Environment(.backgroundProminence) var backgroundProminence var body: some View { HStack { Image(systemName: person.fill) .foregroundStyle(backgroundProminence == .standard ? .orange : .primary) Text(Person) } } } #Preview { ProminentBackgroundInList() } Produces this result:

Document Type Export / Import in Xcode - Shared via Messages
I’ve created a document type for my app and set it up in the Info Configuration in Xcode. This all works as expected: Implemented with the Transferrable API and ShareLink, I can share an app’s file via the Files app or Notes and then import the file via a Share extension and the fileImport swiftUI api. My question is regarding Messages, specifically. It appears as a ShareLink option and I’m able to send my app’s document type via a message, but I’m unable to open it or share it (internally, with my app), other than being able to forward or delete it. If I copy the file, I can’t access it within my app (it’s still stored in the Messages private bundle) and startAccessingSecurityScopedResource returns false as expected. The message does detect the right icon, so it’s recognizing the custom document type. If my Share Extension, exported document type, and transferable implementation is configured correctly, should I be able to open a file for my app shared via Messages? Is this an allowed action? I get

Rendering Multi-Page PDF with SwiftUI View
I have the following code that renders a one-page PDF: func render() -> URL { let renderer = ImageRenderer(content: pdfView()) let url = URL.documentsDirectory.appending(path: filename.pdf) renderer.render { size, context in var document = CGRect(x: 0, y: 0, width: 2550, height: 3300) guard let pdf = CGContext(url as CFURL, mediaBox: &document, nil) else { return } pdf.beginPDFPage(nil) context(pdf) pdf.endPDFPage() pdf.closePDF() } return url } func pdfView() -> some View { Text(View) } How can this be modified so that it renders a PDF with more than one page?

Reply to Buttons become unresponsive after using .windowStyle(.plain) with auto-hiding menu
Can you try commenting out your entity/SpatialTapGesture code? I have a hunch that the entity may be intercepting taps intended for the button. visionOS has some odd issues when we place gestures on entities that the user will be inside of. You may want to take a look at SpatialEventGesture instead of using the tap in an entity. This will let you listen to input anywhere in the immersive space without using a specific entity. Docs: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/swiftui/spatialeventgesture Example Code: https://stepinto.vision/example-code/spatial-event-gesture/ Is .windowStyle(.plain) expected to affect button interaction behavior? No, I've used buttons in many plain windows. Unless visionOS 26.3 introduced a new bug, it seems like something else is going on here. What is the recommended approach to achieve a transparent/hidden window in immersive mode while maintaining button interactivity? You're on the right track, see above about the entity gesture intercepting input. Is there an alte

Live Activities widget extension does not reflect updated SwiftUI UI (custom views/assets appear ignored)
Hello Apple Developer Technical Support, I’m following up on case #102807413324 and submitting this as a code-level support request. We are integrating iOS Live Activities (ActivityKit + WidgetKit extension written in SwiftUI) into an Expo/React Native app. We’re seeing behavior where the Live Activity UI shown on the Lock Screen appears to “stick” to an older layout and ignores updated SwiftUI code and/or bundled assets, even after rebuilding, reinstalling, and removing existing Live Activities before testing again. Environment Device: iPhone 13 iOS: 26.2 macOS: 15.7.3 (24G419) Xcode: 16.4 (16F6) Expo SDK: 52 React Native: 0.76.9 expo-live-activity: ^0.4.2 Build type: Ad-Hoc signed IPA (EAS local build) Summary We have a WidgetKit extension target (LiveActivity.appex, bundle id: stimul8.LiveActivity) using ActivityConfiguration(for: LiveActivityAttributes.self). Reply to SwiftUI ScrollView scrollTo not consistently scrolling to latest message
The above approach did improve the scrolling behavior to some extent, but it wasn’t fully reliable in the long run. After that, I tried a different solution by bridging SwiftUI with UIKit and switching to a UICollectionView. With this approach, the scrolling issues were completely resolved, and I no longer see any unexpected behavior, even with large, continuously streaming responses.

Reply to NSFileSandboxingRequestRelatedItemExtension: Failed to issue extension
Hello Kevin, hello All I have tested your suggestions. Sadly to no avail. The location of the files is not crucial nor using a signed version of the app. I have also setup a new project on my macOS14 Mac with the same result. So it is not a macOS26 problem neither. That makes me wonder more and more. My AppStore app (bcAnalyze) that does use the related file feature with these files works well on any macOS with these files. The code I am using is older dating back ca. 10 years (originated in Obj-C days and is now Swift since ca. 4 years). The idea of adding a security scoped bookmark to the sidecar file is tempting, but wouldn't help since the original application producing the the sidecar file is more than 10 years old and users may have already millions of file pairs. There shouldn't be a difference between SwiftUi and AppKit as front-end, but I may also try this in the next days. Since my AppStore app works, I must oversee something little that has this big effect. I can't otherwise explain the ne

Sharing IAPs between apps
I have had an App (AngelNav) available on the App Store since 2023 which was written for iOS v15.0 or later. I am working on a new version which has the same functionality, but a radically new interface as well as taking advantage of the latest features in SwiftUI. I am writing it from the bottom up for iOS26 to ensure a clean codebase to ease maintenance. As I understand it I have the following options: Issue an update to the existing app. This is easy to do but creates a problem for those users with iOS26 who prefer the old interface. In addition I can't see a way to implement bug fixes for previous versions Create a new app (AngelNavNeo). This would allow users with iOS26 who prefer the old interface to stick with it, and I can issue bug fixes on the old version. However, there is no way to share already purchased in-app purchases between versions without a server-side solution and the need for user accounts on my server (neither of which I want to do). Is my understanding is correct, and have I m

SwiftUI WebView: Is action.target == nil a Reliable Way to Handle New Window Requests?
In WKWebView, there is the WKUIDelegate method: func webView(_ webView: WKWebView, createWebViewWith configuration: WKWebViewConfiguration, for navigationAction: WKNavigationAction, windowFeatures: WKWindowFeatures) -> WKWebView? {} This delegate method provides a callback when a new window (for example, target=_blank) is requested in the web view. However, in native SwiftUI (iOS 26), WebView / WebPage APIs do not provide an equivalent delegate method to handle new window requests. As a workaround, I am using the following method: public func decidePolicy(for action: WebPage.NavigationAction, preferences: inout WebPage.NavigationPreferences) async -> WKNavigationActionPolicy {} In this method, when action.target == nil, I treat it as a new window request. My question: Is relying on action.target == nil in decidePolicy a reliable and future-safe way to detect new window requests in SwiftUI’s WebView, or is there a better or more recommended approach for handling target=_blank / new wind

Issues with ScrollView and nested (Lazy)VStack
Hello, We're having massive issues when we nest LazyVStacks inside a ScrollView. Our app relies heavily on custom views that are sometimes nested two or three levels deep. While the app does work fine overall, we see a massive spike in CPU usage in Instruments when accessibility features like VoiceOver are enabled. Those spikes never recover, so the app basically freezes and stays that way until force quit. We are in talks with a third-party service that uses accessibility features we want to use. Fortunately they have created a GitHub repository which recreates the issue we're facing. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could have a look at the code and tell us what the issue is, or if there's some kind of workaround. Here's the link to the repo: https://github.com/pendo-io/SwiftUI_Hang_Reproduction. Just to be clear, the issue is not directly related to the third-party SDK, but to the accessibility features used in conjunction with SwiftUI. As you can see in the repo the issue is reproducibl
