Guideline 5.1.1
We submitted an update for our app about 1.5 weeks back. This is our fifth update and never had this issue. We developed a dating app and we required that users fill out their profile because we do not want half incomplete profiles due to UX. However, if a user does not want to share information about themselves they have the option to chose other. The only field that is required is height because it’s an integer. Accord to the guidelines I can only require information if it’s a core functionality. We know it’s our core functionality because of the profiles are half empty not only does it ruin the UX but also will start messing up our alogorithm. Not only that, I downloaded other dating apps and they require users to fill out their profiles or they do not let them forward. I even sent them the video of other apps to show it’s a common practice and also information why we require information as a part of our core functionality but we keep getting rejected. We definitely would love some insight.

Curioser.

Reply to Asking for gender issue
Hello Claude,This is the mesage I got:Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and StorageWe noticed that your app requires users to register with personal information that is not directly relevant to your app’s core functionality.Specifically, gender is not an optional field in your app’s registration.Do you think if we do the things mentioned above, our binary will be accepted?

The inconsistencies within the App Review Team are embarrassing...
I submitted the very first version of my app two weeks ago and it was accepted with no problems within 24 hours. Fast forward a week later, I submit for an app update review with basically little to no changes, and its rejected for the following reasons:Guidelines 2.3.7 - Performance - Accurate Metadata We noticed that your app name or subtitle to be displayed on the App Store includes the following trademarked term or popular app name, which is not appropriate for use in these metadata items. Specifically, your app name or subtitle included the term, Fortnite.First of all, why wasn't this a problem when I submitted a week ago? So I end up changing the app name the the subtitle and then resubmit for review EXACTLY as they requested me to do so. After waiting 5 days for them to re-review it, I get another rejection because of the following reasons:Guideline 3.2.2 - Business - Other Business Model Issues - Unacceptable The NEWS FEED feature in your app displays or promotes third-party apps, which is not appropr
