Reply to Is it possible to have a corrupted binary in one country?
Update: I now think that this is due to a serious bug affecting users with an iPhone 6 Plus. Apparently many watch apps cannot be installed from that device running iOS 12.1 to an AW4 running watchOS 5.1.1. This is exactly the combination one of my users has, and I have another review mentioning it in the Netherlands, so I no longer think it was country specific. That was either a coincidence or the Swiss user who emailed didn't like to admit they also gave me a one star review! This is a serious issue that seems to be affecting many apps, such as Spotify, Shazam, Nike Run Club, PCalc and more: https://devandartist.com/posts/apps-not-installing-on-the-apple-watch-or-error-17If anyone from Apple monitors these forums then please take a look - this is a very serious problem for watch app developers.

Unable to install test app on Apple Watch
I repeat this older thread, as it does not show on the forum with my added post !https://forums.developer.apple.com/message/298938#298938I answered to KMT answer (I read the referenced thread)---------------Looks like that triggered the name change dialog. Can you just right click on the watch name without that happening? Try it on the phone, on the left so see what I'm looking for.Otherwise, this sounds like what others went thru (routine pairing v o o d o o ) in this SO thread - seen it ? [ filter does not like v o o …]https://stackoverflow.com/questions/30792520/in-xcode-i-see-no-paired-apple-watch-even-though-the-watch-is-paired-and-the-w-------------------------So, my question nowI run in the same problem.I just got the Apple Watch (4, OS 5.1.1) and use XCode 10.1. OSX 10.13.6I can create the app + WatchOS on simulator without problem. But not on device. The watch is paired with iPhone.I connect iPhone with USB=> get the message :The iPhone iPhone XS can not be used because it requires iTunes 1

Apple rejected my app with two reasons
Hello,Apple rejeted my app with two reasons that I don't understand how to fix it.1. Guideline 2.3.10 - Performance - Accurate MetadataWe noticed that your app or its metadata includes irrelevant third-party platform information.Specifically, your app includes non-iOS status bar images in the app’s screenshots.Referencing third-party platforms in your app or its metadata is not permitted on the App Store unless there is specific interactive functionality.Next StepsTo resolve this issue, please remove all instances of this information from your app and its metadata, including the app description, promotional text, What's New info, previews, and screenshots. My question:what to fix? to share my screenshots maybe they not enough? I don't understnad what to do..Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and StorageWe noticed that your app requires users to register or log in to access features that are not account-based.Specifically requiring a date of birth.Next StepsTo resolve this issue, pleas

Submission Rejected-5.1.1
Hi all,Our team recently submitted a new app version to the app store and got rejected saying that we violated 5.1.1 because our app requires users to register with location information to use job posting feature. The thing is, we require such information for content and user security purpose. If a user who lives in LA and posts a job in NY, then our system will identify such user as a high risk user and may ask the user to pass more security check measures, i.e. provide more information to demonstrate his/her posting are real and effective. We are not sure if security reason is sufficient engough to pursuade the app review team to approve our app version update, any one has thoughts on this? How do we solve this problem? Thanks!

App Store Rejection: Camera Access Message (Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage)
Apple blocked an update for a personal database app citing the 5.1.1 guideline. The permission alert message (Purpose String) was not changed but the latest update got multiple rejections because of it.### WorkflowUser taps on an Add Picture button, and if the user specify Camera from an action sheet of sources (e.g. Photo Library, Paste from Clipboard), the app then tries to access the camera, and causes iOS to display a permission request alert. ### Permission Request AlertHere is the iOS standard alert **title**:> [AppName] Would Like to Access the CameraThe initially approved developer-supplied **message** (Purpose String):> Camera will be used to take pictures to store in [AppName].-> Rejected.> Camera will be used to take pictures so that you can store them in [AppName].-> Rejected again. We did look at Apple's docs and also asked Apple for recommendations, but they just kept saying that the alert needs *to specify why the app is requesting access to the user's camera.*### Othe

Reply to Login to access the App
>I didn't found any info in the guidelines about thisAre you sure? There are two parts to your proposal: ✖ login to access the App and ✖✖ use of OAuth2/restful (web session/simplified) token v. sign in/pwd.See the ASRG's section 5.1.1:(v) Account Sign-In: ✖ If your app doesn’t include significant account-based features, let people use it without a log-in. Apps may not require users to enter personal information to function, except when directly relevant to the core functionality of the app or required by law. If your core app functionality is not related to a specific social network (e.g. Facebook, WeChat, Weibo, Twitter, etc.), you must provide access without a login or via another mechanism. Pulling basic profile information, sharing to the social network, or inviting friends to use the app are not considered core app functionality. The app must also include a mechanism to revoke social network credentials and disable data access between the app and social network from within the app. ✖✖ An app

Reply to Inspecting Downloads for Notarization
Please forgive the late reply, I've done some additional research during Spring Break here, and it's been instructive.Since we started this process, DisplayLink has released 5.1.1 of its kext, and the installer that they have posted is supposed to be notarized. Looking at the package:Persephone:Extensions tom$ spctl -a -t install -vvvv /Volumes/DisplayLink Installer/DisplayLink Software Installer.pkg /Volumes/DisplayLink Installer/DisplayLink Software Installer.pkg: accepted source=Notarized Developer ID origin=Developer ID Installer: DisplayLink Corp (73YQY62QM3)However, the package itself doesn't have a ticket stapled to it, which means that you must have access to the internet if you want it to install correctly. The spctl action itself isn't enough for you to know you have a viable package that will install offline. However, it appears that stapler can tell you:Persephone:Extensions tom$ stapler validate -v /Volumes/DisplayLink Installer/DisplayLink Software Installer.pkg Processing: /Volumes/Dis

Information about Guidelines 5.1.1 Data Collection and Storage
According to Apple Review Guidelines 5.1 about Legal 5.1.1, indicating that developer can use National ID in the app if it’s related to the core function. In our app we are using National ID to identify the user, given both URL policy and explaination and was not allowed by Apple. We want Apple review team to explain this rule in detail and provide some examples case of core function which will be allowed by Apple.

Reply to App rejected Guideline 5.1.2
The issue is not 'legally' it is 'app reveiw'. Your app is collecting (aka 'compiling') personal information of people who drive by the user of the app. Herein lies your rub - 5.1.1 (viii) Apps that compile personal information from any source that is not directly from the user or without the user’s explicit consent, even public databases, are not permittedYou could try this approach with app review:1) App review - the data saved by this app is based on publicly displayed license plate data. It is viewed and recorded by the user of the app. Therefore, upon recording, this data is the property of the user of the app not the owner of the license plate. The user of the app further clarifies their data by accessing a public database. The user of this app has given permission to compile this data. This app is not in violation of 5.1.1 (viii) because the data is obtained directly from the user with the user's explicit consent.(IMHO - App Review should reject the app because of 5.1.1 (viii

Apple feedback
Hi All,I recieved below feedback on my app.. I worked with a developer who cannot work right now and I need someone to help me with the feedback.. it is really small issues but because I don't have enough knowledge to fix in Xcode..Hello,Thank you for providing this information.Regarding 5.1.1, when collecting information from the user, that information needs to have a direct benefit to the user and contribute to your apps core functionality. Apps that request information that do not provide a direct benefit to the user when signing up are not compliant with the App Store Review Guidelines.Regarding 4.0, apps should be optimized to support the device screen size or resolution it is run on. Your app displayed text and buttons overlaid onto each other. To resolve this issue, it would be appropriate to revise your app.
