Appstore rejection for a movie companion app for Korean Squid Game
We recently attempted to publish a movie companion app for the Korean tv series - Squid Game on Netflix. The idea is that when users watch the korean tv series, the app will listen to the audio, understand the exact minutes the user is watching, and then display relevant information. The relevant information is basically, the latest survivor count and the latest cash prize, based on the progress of the tv show. This is displayed using fonts and colors that looks similar to the Scoreboard in the Netflix tv series. To avoid giving false impression that this app is official app from Netflix, there is no usage of any squidgame logo, netflix logo. Also no mention of Netflix or the Squid Game in the app description at all. Unfortunately, it is still rejected, with the following reasons: Guideline 4.1 - Design - Copycats Your metadata appears to contain third party content. Specifically, your app copycat the Squid game. The next submission of this app may require a longer review time, and this app

4. 1 Design: Copycats (iOS) my own app
First a little context. I recently had an app approved on July 23. On August 1st I tried to submit an updated version that included adding a label to the landing page, adding back navigation items to a few pages, removing some unused images from the resource folder and fixing a static resource reference bug. Now the issue. This update, minor in nature, was rejected with the note that my update resembles my own app. Here's the message: Guideline 4.1 - Design - Copycats Your app or its metadata appears to contain misleading content. Specifically, your app includes content that resembles Healthcare EQ. I did not change anything related to app names, bundles, etc. Just a few UI updates and I'm really struggling to get figure out why it's telling me I'm copying myself. Anyone experience this?

Metadata Rejected
Hi, My app was metadata rejected and I can’t understand why. This is what they said: “Guideline 4.1 - Design - Copycats Your app or its metadata still appears to contain misleading content. Specifically, your app includes content that resembles Yards Per Fantasy.” They are saying my app resembles Yards Per Fantasy but my app IS Yards Per Fantasy so I’m really confused. When I asked for clarification their response wasn’t very helpful. The app is derived from my Wordpress site (YardsPerFantasy.com) using the WPMOBILE.App plugin. Please help! Thank you

4. 1 Design: Copycats
I have submitted my app 5 times now :|. Finally got it to the last (hopefully) rejection issue. This one I don't know how to fix though. It's saying there isn't valid proof of authorization for this app even though I am the web designer and am working along side the CEO of the company to have it published. Here is the Binary Rejection: Your app or its metadata appears to still contain potentially misleading content. Specifically, your app includes content that resembles KlosetSlayer without the necessary authorization. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Reply to Guideline 4.1 Copy Cats - Questions
Are you sure they speak of the images oand not of the app itself which would look like many other similar apps ?They speak of copycat, not copyright.4.1 CopycatsCome up with your own ideas. We know you have them, so make yours come to life. Don’t simply copy the latest popular app on the App Store, or make some minor changes to another app’s name or UI and pass it off as your own. In addition to risking an intellectual property infringement claim, it makes the App Store harder to navigate and just isn’t fair to your fellow developers.

4.1 Design-Copycats: What does that mean?
Hello. I made an app that serves as a checklist to help find special items in one of the Resident Evil games. The app displays a large number of screenshots of the game, illustrating where each item can be found. Because of this, Apple's reviewer rejected the app for copycat reasons. The alleged reason is described below:Guideline 4.1 - Design - CopycatsYour app or its metadata appears to contain misleading content.Specifically, your app includes content that resembles Resident Evil Revelations without the necessary authorization. What does that mean? That I can't include screenshots of others games in my app? Is there any way to get around this problem while still using screenshots?

Reply to App rejected because The company names associated with your app do not reflect a recognized institution
Here is 5.2.1:5.2.1 Generally: Don’t use protected third-party material such as trademarks, copyrighted works, or patented ideas in your app without permission, and don’t include misleading, false, or copycat representations, names, or metadata in your app bundle or developer name. Apps should be submitted by the person or legal entity that owns or has licensed the intellectual property and other relevant rights and is responsible for offering any services provided by the app.Who owns the data you are using for the coronavirus? If it is not copyright protected, or if it is explicitly available for your use, then appeal to App Review stating why you have the right to use the data.(I do not think the problem is that last is responsible for offering any services provided by the app.)

Reply to Issue with 2.1 Intellectual Property section on only one app
I don'tb think this has anything to do with company name.
