With project catalyst and moving iPad apps to MacOS, does this mean that the general App Store will allow me to access the optimised apps made with the UI, etc from project catalyst on my iPad? Essentially, using more “Pro Apps on the iPad Pro”? I’m excited to see things like Solidworks, Autocad, Matlab, XCode, Time machine, Final Cut Pro and other pro apps available on iPadOS. Ideally I’d want to setup my workflow to have just my iPad Pro and my monitor. this is especially relevant with the rumours about the 2021 iPad Pro lineup having A14X chips and optimising the full potential of the chips.

Hello there, Does Scribble on iPadOS 14 support languages other than English? I tried switching to the Korean keyboard and when I write, it tries to convert to the English characters. If not currently, does Apple plan on supporting other languages for Scribble in the future? I think that would be great addition. Thank you.
Uninstalled the iPadOS 16 beta profile. Updated iPadOS 15.6 to the latest version which came out yesterday. Reinstalled the iPadOS 16 beta profile. Went to software update and updated my iPadOS to 16 and it worked. Typing this on my iPad with iPadOS 16 live.

We develop and operate custom apps for iPadOS. That app now crashes frequently. The following events are output to the crash log. Event: disk writes Action taken: none Writes: 1081.78 MB of file backed memory dirtied over 777 seconds (1391.62 KB per second average), exceeding limit of 12.43 KB per second over 86400 seconds Writes limit: 1073.74 MB Limit duration: 86400s Writes caused: 1081.78 MB Writes duration: 777s Duration: 777.35s Duration Sampled: 755.30s Steps: 35 (10.49 MB/step) What does this log mean? And how can it be improved?

I updated the icons in Xcode to customize the appearance of my app icons to be light, dark, or tinted. The app is allowed to be downloaded and run on iPadOS. The app icon behaves as expected on iOS however the app icon does not change on the iPad. Am I missing a step for the iPad? To be clear the app does not target iPadOS rather it is just running the iOS version. Thanks kof

Hello, We have developed a hardware product that embeds an FTDI USB-serial converter, and an application on MacOS that communicates with this device. We would like to port our application to iPadOS. I can see that when I plug the device into the iPad, it is recognized as a serial port, based on its console logs. When I attempt to enumerate serial ports on iPadOS using IOKit, I can see matching IOSerialBSDClient services, but the properties are sandboxed, including the IOCalloutDevice property, for example: 0 error 16:36:10.922450-0700 kernel Sandbox: ***(662) deny(1) iokit-get-properties iokit-class:IOUserSerial property:IOTTYSuffix Is there an entitlement that can be applied that allows access to the serial port properties of an attached USB device? Or do I need to implement my own USBDriverKit driver for this device, as seems to be implied in these forum threads: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/795202 https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/655527

As iPadOS 18 shows Tab Bar on top (tvOS'esq), can someone please tell me what changes do I need to make to get tab bar shown as a regular one (Pre iPadOS 18 style)? Tab bar being at the bottom is easily accessible. And, it being on top needs too much of hands movement. That being on top is is occupying, in a way, more screen real estate. Any ideas appreciated. Thank you.
Just found out this key available for visionOS https://developer.apple.com/documentation/bundleresources/entitlements/com.apple.developer.low-latency-streaming It seems to keep video streaming from being interrupted by AWDL, our community needs it badly for self-hosted game streaming (PC to iPhone / iPad). Related apps: Moonlight / VoidLink / SteamLink. Can we expect this on iOS/iPadOS 26, or even iOS/iPadOS 18 ?

The Cancel button for VNDocumentCameraViewController is not displayed on iPadOS 26. This issue appears to be specific to iPad, as the button appears correctly on iPhone.
This demonstrates an issue with SwiftUI's WebView on iPadOS. To repro, testing on iPad Simulator OS 26.2, macOS 26.2, Xcode 26.2. Download and unzip this project: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z3MobjDf_RvvOtriXtinXvrJ7rGHwZRs/view?usp=share_link Set up Signing and Run the swiftui-webview App target on simulator (I'm using iPad Pro 13-inch (M5 simulator) Tap/click the fullscreen [ ] button in the bottom left corner of the webpage. Tap/click the 'X' button in the top left, to exit fullscreen. Result: The WebView exits fullscreen, but there is no content loaded, just a white background. It's also now not possible to visit other URLs - the WebView appears to be unresponsive and not repaint. This does not appear to affect macOS 26.2, just iPadOS.
I have a TabView with individual tabs containing NavigationSplitViews. On iPadOS 18, when moving the new UI into a sidebar, the title of the first column in the current split view randomly spins its way in and out of view. Is this just a beta bug, or am I doing something wrong? Hard to convey without a recording, but hopefully the screenshots will show what I mean. Thanks.
On macOS 26 I can see the dividers when I open my Help menu: However, on iPadOS 26 the dividers don't appear: I am simply using Divider() to separate my menu bar items in my CommandGroup. iPadOS does support dividers as I can see them for the system generated Edit menu but for some reason it's not working here. Does anyone know if I am doing something wrong with the iPadOS implementation?
