Our hardware solution not covered by MFI
We design, develop and build industrial embroidery equipment, CNCs, and laser cutters based on Apple Technologies. We have been trying for several months to find a group within Apple that understands what we do. So, now I need to bother people on this forum. I do not want to have our machines running on Windows PCs and just be able to connect to iPads and Mac minis. I want our entire solution to be sold with the correct hardware, pre-configured, when they leave our shop. Difficult to believe that nobody out there has thought of moving their hardware to Apple technologies. Any help from engineering or other hardware manufacturers would be much appreciated it!

How to add bootloader to Mac
Hi, i'm new in Mac and i just try to understand how to boot some programs or another kernels on apple silicon. I looked at the m1n1 project that allows you to boot Linux kernels, but unfortunately I did not find detailed documentation on the implementation, and it can take a lot of time to analyze the code. As I understood from the document about the security of apple platforms, the Secure Enclave will not let me boot anything other than the XNU kernel, but i can add kernel extensions. Using kernel extensions can I load another kernel or program and connect it to hardware devices via XNU and the driver it uses? Does this sound like what m1n1 does, or will it help me get anything other than macOS running on newer Apple machines? I think it could be used for the specific use of apple machines for servers or compute clusters. Sorry if this is stupid enough, I haven't dealt with apple before.

Can't disable System Integrity Protection from Recovery Mode?
Hi, I need to temporarily turn off SIP (long story) on a MacBook Air M2 running MacOS 13.3.1. When I boot into Recovery Mode (startup pressing power, options, pick account, authenticate, etc.) and try to launch the Startup Security Utility from the menu, it says it can only be run from Recovery Mode (which I'm in). I've tried launching the Terminal from the menu and using csrutil disable but it says the same thing (see attached) Is there some other security mode that can disable one's ability to turn off SIP? (I've been through Apple Support (regular, senior) who referred me to Developer Support (senior) who said it was beyond their scope and that I should post here.) Thanks, Colin

I am working on a MacBook Pro 2021 M1, with SSD, 16 GB RAM. I already checked for the files structures on the disk, tested the SSD for possible problems with disk utilities/diagnostic software, deleted Finder preferences. udp.pcbcount leak
Phenomenon: After closing the lid of a MacBook Pro and waiting for a while before reopening it (for example, after finishing work at the office and bringing the laptop home), the "net.inet.udp.pcbcount" value significantly increases (reaching over 60,000+ at its peak), resulting in an increase in CPU temperature.Seems like udppcb leak. Viewing method: Enter "sysctl -a | grep pcbcount" in the terminal. Model: Apple M1 Pro Memory (RAM): 32 GB Operating System: macOS 13.3.1 (a) (22E772610a)

MAC M1 and M2 CPU is not supported due issues with VM Ware Fusion and nested CPU.
To run EVEng virtualisation on "Apple M1 Pro" is not supported , https://www.eve-ng.net/index.php/documentation/installation/system-requirement/ As mentioned in the EVEng site "MAC M1 and M2 CPU is not supported due issues with VM Ware Fusion and nested CPU" for systems requirements. when can we expect the support on Apple M1 Pro chip?, as it is extremely needed option for virtualise network hardware equipment for practice of our own, buying this Apple M1 Pro is not helpful doing virtual networking labs. https://communities.vmware.com/t5/VMware-Fusion-Discussions/M1-M2-and-nested-virtualization/td-p/2916685.

Issue With Three-Finger Swipe Between Fullscreen Windows
Hello, I've been having this issue with the three-finger swipe between fullscreen windows feature as of late, I've been trying to figure out how to fix it but couldn't find anything online. Every time I swipe between fullscreen windows/applications, it doesn't seem to select the new window, and stays on the old window. So any keyboard shortcuts I use apply to the previous window, not the new one. It's become pretty annoying since I use keyboard shortcuts very frequently, so having to click onto the window each time I switch is a bit of a pain. Does anybody know how to fix this? Device: Macbook Pro M1 Software: MacOS Ventura 13.4

This connections is not Private - Error in safari Browser in Mac
While accessing the client URL in Safari browser(Version 16.5) in Mac machine, I am facing the below error. Even if we set the Trust options are "Always Trust" by clicking the 'View the certificate' link, we are getting the same error. Note: The same URL is working fine in Chrome browser in same Mac Machine. In Older Mac machine with older version of safari browser, the client URL is working fine. The issue occurs on new Mac machine with latest version of safari browser Please suggest why the same valid certificates are not working in safari browser and what I can do to overcome this issue.

Hardened Runtime for distribution outside the Mac App store
I am working on an open source weather app for distribution outside the Mac App store: https://sourceforge.net/projects/heat-meteo The project builds and runs fine in Xcode. The batch build script was using ALTOOL which can’t/shouldn’t be used anymore. I am trying to set it up for notarytool. This is what I think is now happening. Again, all works fine in the Xcode debugger. In Xcode, the build is setup with Automatically manage signing for both Debug and Release. They are using my Apple Development account, 4V7…. What I have read if that if I want to distribute outside of the Mac App store, it must be signed with my Developer ID Application, 7VN…. I tried to do an xcodebuild then codesign to switch from 4V7 to 7VN. That actually worked. codesign -dv --verbose=4 shows the correct account. However when I do that, codesign --display --verbose shows I lost the hardened runtime and then notarytool fails because hardened runtime isn’t set. The hardened runtime flag IS set before the codesign command. I can physically turn off Automatically manage signing in Xcode for Release, but how to I select my Developer ID Application account? It does not appear to be a choice. If it matters, the application needs both WeatherKit and Location entitlements and they are set to YES in the entitlements file. I’m guessing, and this pure guessing, I need to adjust something in https://developer.apple.com/account but I don’t know what. Thanks in advance.

Trackpad highlighting ghost govering bug
I noticed today that if you enable tap to click and double click to highlight, There is a bug where it continues to hold onto your finger even when you let go of the trackpad and it will track the finger as it hovers over it not letting go of the highlight function regardless of the trackpad sensitivity. I dont believe we even have actual control of the device sensitivity in the OS. In order to get the highlight to cut i have to lift my entire hand off the trackpad 2-3 inches or force click down on to the trackpad to get the highlighted section to cut. This is on the M1 Macbook Air, unsure if all the models have this issue. The gist of it is that if you use tap to highlight it wont stop highlighting unless you push down to force it to cut.

APPLE Staff lying and sying "we tried to call but phone was busy"
Hello, Apple is loosing big time and developers are leaving because of idiots responsible of calling back developers to activite their developer accounts and other idiots working in the App CRAP Store. I am one of those developers and I am sick and tired of those phone operators who where hirede from a shed in some jungle some where in a messed up country that doesnt even have iPhones. I started hating apple products although I have so many of them. Since iPhone 4. Ihave purchased every phone , ipad , watch , computger and lab top for my self , famaily and my employees. I now reached the point fo thinking seriously of abandoning Apple and all its products and start putting every piece I owned on fire every day and post it on every social media. This will be the trend amongst developers leaving Apple and the App Store , for a while and I bet Samsung and other Android products will be happy and support me. I have wasted many years of my life and huge amounts of money buying products and time learing to develop for iCrap , I think it is time to say F IT , it is not worth it , it is time to move to new better tech and better people. Thank you All , it has been misreable being an Apple customer and developer

Can that not be mended?

Using ASR to create a clone of a physical USB stick in a dmg drive format
I have followed through one of your tutorials I presume by the end of it I get to an exact clone of the USB? So when you complete the steps by the end of "Create and boot from the clone" chapter: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-250005828

(I've been through Apple Support (regular, senior) who referred me to Developer Support (senior) who said it was beyond their scope and that I should post here.) Thanks, Colin

udp.pcbcount leak
