When using DeviceActivityMonitorExtension, I found the following problems:
intervalDidStart may be called multiple times, resulting in several sub-monitors being started.
After a period of time, the monitoring is turned off.
The static methods enableApps and disableApps are sometimes not called

After reading Apple documentation (FamilyControls, DeviceActivity, ManagedSettings, ManagedSettingsUI, ScreenTime) and testing the API, I do not find a way to get the child's device apps on the parent device in order to block them or disable them for a certain time.
Is there a way of doing it?
Or can it only be done locally on the child device?

I’m encountering an issue while reading/writing shared preferences using UserDefaults with an App Group in my iOS Message Extension. The following error appears in the console:
`Couldn't read values in CFPrefsPlistSource<0x3034e7f80> (Domain: [MyAppGroup], User: kCFPreferencesAnyUser, ByHost: Yes, Container: (null), Contents Need Refresh: Yes): Using kCFPreferencesAnyUser with a container is only allowed for System Containers, detaching from cfprefsd.
I have correctly enabled the App Group in both my containing app and the Message Extension, and I am using UserDefaults(suiteName:) to access shared preferences. However, I keep getting this error when trying to read/write values.
Has anyone encountered this before? How can I properly configure my app group preferences to avoid this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In the documentation for the example Live Caller ID server (https://swiftpackageindex.com/apple/live-caller-id-lookup-example/main/documentation/pirservice/testinginstructions) there is an example service-config.json. file shown (without thorough documentation).
That config file, and the whole of the instructions, center around there being two datasets of numbers: block and identity.
My question is - is it possible for more than one dataset to be specified i.e. for block1 and block2 to be specified?
The use case for this would be - suppose the Live Caller ID server has a set of numbers it has identified as being nuisance callers and so it lists these in the block section. However user A might want all these nuisance callers to be blocked but user B does not. Therefore the Live Caller ID extension on the handset would need to use a different dataset on the server so that user A's calls from a set of numbers is blocked, but user B's are not.
Note that I'm not suggesting that the Caller ID server should be capable of storing individual user's preferences. All that would be required would be two data sets: one where blocked content is none and and one where blocked content is some. Then a user/app could switch between them as indicated by the user.
Is that possible?
If the database structure and service-config.json etc. is not configured to permit that, then could two different servers be set up to achieve this instead? i.e. so the server url specified in the app's extension can be set at run time and not at compile time?
We had a question that came up when we comparing data from WeatherKit to other sources - WeatherKit visibility was well beyond the boundaries we had historically, even from Darksky. That raises two questions:
is visibility actually in meters like the docs say?
is this visibility at ground level, 500ft, or some other height?
We were seeing visibility numbers of up to 40 miles (after converting the number the API sent to miles), where all of our other sources are usually within 10 miles

we’re looking to get some clarification around how the hourly forecasts should be interpreted to ensure we’re using your data in the correct manner. If you could provide the answers to the following questions would be extremely helpful:
1. What do the data points (e.g temperature) in the hourly forecast represent for a future hour? Do they represent the expected average over that future hour or do they represent the forecast for the point in time at the top of the hour?
2. What do those same data points represent in the hourly forecast for an hour which has already begun? e.g. it’s 8:30 and we pull the hourly forecast and the 8:00 hour is still returned. Which of the following would be the correct interpretation for the values returned for the 8:00 hour:
The values represent the forecast for the point in time at the top of the 8:00 hour (if this is the case we would expect it to stop updating)
The values represent the current forecast i.e. what the weather is right now
The values represent the average over the remaining portion of the 8:00 hour
The values represent the average over the full 8:00 hour including both the portion which has already elapsed and the portion which is still to come
3. What does the data represent after the hour (i.e. looking at historical hours)? Is it:
The last forecast made within the hour? If so, is that point-in-time or average for the hour (as explained above)?
The actual weather for that hour (using some non-forecast measure of real weather)? If so, again is that point-in-time at top of hour / point-in-time at end of hour / average over the hour?
I have been working to implement Apple's Live Caller ID feature, which requires setting up a relay server. Following Apple's guidelines, I submitted a request through the provided link to utilize Apple's relay server. However, it's been three weeks, and I have yet to receive a response. I contacted Apple Support, but they indicated that this is a technical matter beyond their scope.
Has anyone successfully received confirmation from Apple regarding the use of their relay server for Live Caller ID? If so, could you share your experience or any advice on how to proceed?

Hello! We're currently testing Live Caller ID implementation and noticed an issue with userIdentifier values in our database.
Initially, we expected to have approximately 100 records (one per user), but the database grew to about 10,000 evaluationKey entries. Upon investigation, we discovered that the userIdentifier (extracted from "User-Identifier" header) for the same device remains constant throughout a day but changes after a few days.
We store these evaluation keys using a composite key pattern "userIdentifier/configHash". All these entries have the same configHash but different userIdentifier values.
This behavior leads to unnecessary database growth as new entries are created for the same users with different userIdentifier values.
Could you please clarify:
Is this the expected behavior for userIdentifier to change over time?
If yes, is there a specific TTL (time-to-live) for userIdentifier?
If this is not intended, could this be a potential iOS bug?
This information would help us optimize our database storage and implement proper cleanup procedures.

I have an app with Message Filtering Extension enabled and I have been experiencing unusual behaviour.
When I send messages from local number to local number, the filtering is done correctly, but when I send messages from certain international number to my local number the messages are not filtered. I couldn't find any errors in Console.
I see that the normalisation is correct, is there any specifications for SMS from certain countries? Or a reason why Message Filtering is not activated when a SMS is received?
We have created an app that uses Appintents to plug into Siri. However, launching the app >sometimes< will launch a menu that will let the user choose between the app and Contacts. Why? How can I tell Siri to not ask for Contacts?

The shortcut is not appearing on the lock screen.
Everything else is working as expected. The Shortcut is appearing in the Shortcuts App and is working via Siri.
In developer settings I have

I’ve set up a focus filter, but the perform() method in SetFocusFilterIntent isn't called when the focus mode is toggled on or off on my iPhone since I updated to iOS 18 beta (22A5326f).
I can reproduce the issue for my app, but focus filters are also broken for any third-party apps installed on my phone, so I guess it's not specific to how I've implemented my filter intent.
This used to work perfectly on iOS 17. I didn't change a single line of code, and it broke completely on the latest iOS 18 beta.
I've filed a bug report including a sysdiagnose (FB14715113).

I'm reaching out to see if anyone else is experiencing issues with the Live Caller ID feature on iOS. We recently encountered a problem where the feature stopped working entirely.
Here's a brief overview of the situation:
We were monitoring test traffic on our backend and noticed everything came to a halt around 1:00 AM UTC on November 15th.
After this time, any attempts to reach our backend through calls failed completely.
I tested this across multiple devices running iOS 18.2 and iOS 18.0.
I used both TestFlight builds and development builds via Xcode, which should communicate directly with our backend.
I experienced the problem on our main application as well as a dedicated test app.
To troubleshoot further, I even set up a local server on localhost and tried directing requests there, but the requests did not reach the local server when a call was received.
Further debugging in Console.app revealed the following error:
identity request returned error: Error Domain=com.apple.CipherML Code=400 "Error Domain=com.apple.CipherML Code=401 "Unable to request data by keywords batch: failed to fetch token issuer directory"
However, when I manually tried to hit our server endpoint using curl, the request successfully reached the server:

This suggests that while our backend is responsive, the requests from the iOS client side are simply not being initiated.
