Unknown Error Occurring During Sandbox Purchase Testing
We are experiencing an Unknown Error (error code 0) when testing purchases in the Apple Sandbox environment. The error does not occur every time, but it fails with an Unknown Error in approximately 8 out of 20 attempts. Due to this issue, our app is failing to pass Apple’s review. Issue Details This issue only occurs in the Apple Sandbox environment. After attempting a purchase, the Apple payment API returns SKPaymentTransaction Unknown Error. Returned error code: SKErrorUnknown (error.code 0). This problem is preventing us from conducting proper payment tests and getting approval from Apple. Would it be possible to receive support or any solutions for this issue?

IAP Can not Use Sand Box Test
I am currently using StoreKit2 to set up the in-app purchase subscription flow, and I have already configured the subscription products in App Connect. I created a StoreKit Configuration file in Xcode and used it in the scheme. However, after completing the purchase, the transaction.jsonRepresentation data returns a transactionId of 0. After checking the documentation, I found that I need to disable the StoreKit Configuration and enable Sandbox Testing. But after disabling the StoreKit Configuration, I can't retrieve the real product data using Product.products(for: productIds). I can confirm that the ProductId I provided is real and matches the data configured in App Connect. Could you please help me identify the issue?

inApps/v2/history/ of AppleStoreServerAPI
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appstoreserverapi/get-v2-history-_transactionid I would like to inquire about the detailed triggers for updating receipts in this API specification. Recently, I was using this API with sort=DESCENDING&revoked=false to retrieve the expiration date of the most recent receipt and determine the subscription status. However, for some reason, an old receipt with an earlier expiration date appeared as the first receipt, and I would like to know the reason for this. Can you provide information on what specific events or actions trigger the updating of receipts in this API? Also, regarding https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appstoreserverapi/status, will statuses 3 and 4 not be returned in the response unless the billing grace period is enabled in the App Store?

SubscriptionStoreView not showing free trial offer in release build
I'm using the SwiftUI view SubscriptionStoreView (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/storekit/subscriptionstoreview/) with a subscription group that has 2 subscriptions. I set up a free trial offer in App Store Connect (https://developer.apple.com/help/app-store-connect/manage-subscriptions/set-up-introductory-offers-for-auto-renewable-subscriptions/). The storekit file in Xcode is synced with the App Store. In debug build, this works and appears correctly, showing the free trial offer: But in release build, the free trial offer is not shown: The code is very simple: SubscriptionStoreView(productIDs: [ "[PRODUCT ID FOR ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION]", "[PRODUCT ID FOR BIMONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION]" ]) Does anyone have a solution? Thank you. (Xcode 16.3, macOS 15.5, iOS 18.5)

Get the region currently used in the macOS App Store
How can I get the region region currently used in the macOS App Store? Preferably via Swift libraries, but any command / function will suffice. The following StoreKit property seems to always return the region for the Apple Account associated with my macOS user. await Storefront.current?.countryCode See the Apple docs. My macOS Apple Account region is US; in the App Store, when I sign into a different Apple Account whose region is GB (UK), Storefront.current?.countryCode continues to return US, not GB (or UK). I correctly see prices in pounds instead of in dollars, British spelling instead of American spelling, apps listed in my purchased tab for the UK (not the US) Apple Account, and, in the Account Settings dialog, the UK Apple Account email address, billing address & Country/Region set to United Kingdom. I didn't get any relevant results from the following command lines: defaults find GB defaults find UK defaults find uk-apple-id@example.com defaults find uk-apple-id The following didn't change after I signed into the UK Apple Account in the App Store: $ defaults read com.apple.AppStoreComponents { ASCLocaleID = "en-US@calendar=gregorian"; } Maybe Storefront.current?.countryCode only specifies the country code for the Storefront that will be used for in-app purchases, instead of for purchasing new apps from the App Store; maybe the former is tied to the Apple Account for the macOS user, instead of to the Apple Account for the App Store. If that's the case, what other mechanism can I use to obtain the country code for the App Store storefront?

AppTransactionId support in Get Transaction Info endpoint — documentation change and actual behavior?
Hello, I have a question regarding the App Store Server API's getTransactionInfo endpoint. Previously, the official documentation for getTransactionInfo mentioned that: “This endpoint doesn’t support an app transaction. To get information about an app transaction, decode the signed app transaction received from the device.” However, as of June 2025, I can no longer find this sentence in the current documentation (link). Now, the docs state that all in-app purchase transaction IDs are supported (consumable, non-consumable, auto-renewable subscriptions, etc.). But in practice, when I call getTransactionInfo with an AppTransactionId (extracted from a signed App Transaction JWS), I receive this error: apiErrorCode: 4000048 “Invalid request. App transactions aren’t supported by this endpoint.” Is this endpoint supposed to support AppTransactionId now, or is the restriction still in place (but not mentioned in the docs)? Is there any official statement about when this restriction was added/removed? Can you clarify if only in-app purchase transaction IDs (and not AppTransactionIds) are supported for this endpoint, or has the policy changed recently? Any clarification or historical context would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, I would like to know about the behavior of an App Transaction in the event of a refund. If a user receives a refund for the app itself (not an in-app purchase), how can changes to the AppTransaction be detected? Does the App Store Server Notification v2 provide notifications for app-level refunds, or are such events only visible by decoding the latest App Transaction JWS on the device? Is there any way to receive app-level refund information server-side, or must we always rely on the device to provide the updated signed app transaction? Any clarification on this refund flow and notification coverage would also be appreciated. Thank you!

Does the Apple Store support variable recurring payments like Stripe?
Stripe offers variable payment structures, also known as "irregular recurring payments," which include: Usage-based billing: Charges amounts based on usage during the billing cycle (e.g., minutes used or energy consumed). Quantity-based billing: Charges a pre-agreed amount based on quantity (e.g., number of users in a subscription). Is it possible to implement this type of billing in the Apple Store for apps? How would variations in amounts be handled?

App Store Server API JWT Authentication Issue
Issue Description I am experiencing persistent 401 Unauthorized errors when attempting to access the App Store Server API using JWT authentication. Despite following Apple's documentation and regenerating keys, I am unable to successfully authenticate. Implementation Details I'm implementing JWT authentication for the App Store Server API to retrieve transaction information from the following endpoint: https://api.storekit.itunes.apple.com/inApps/v1/transactions/{transactionID} My JWT generation code (in PHP/Laravel) follows Apple's documentation: php$kid = '6W6H649LJ4'; $header = [ "alg" => "ES256", "kid" => $kid, "typ" => "JWT" ]; $iss = 'b8d99de7-b43b-4cbb-aada-546ec784e249'; // App Store Connect API Key Issuer ID $bid = 'com.gitiho.learnCourse'; // Bundle ID $payload = [ "iss" => $iss, "iat" => time(), "exp" => time() + 3600, "aud" => "appstoreconnect-v1", "bid" => $bid ]; $pathFileAuthKeyP8 = "AuthKey_6W6H649LJ4.p8"; $contentFileAuthKey = \File::get(base_path($pathFileAuthKeyP8)); $alg = "ES256"; $jwt = \Firebase\JWT\JWT::encode($payload, $contentFileAuthKey, $alg, null, $header); Steps Taken to Troubleshoot Verified that the Issuer ID is correct and in UUID format Confirmed that the Key ID matches the private key filename Regenerated the key with proper App Store Server API permissions Ensured the private key file is properly formatted with correct headers and footers Verified that the JWT is being properly encoded using the ES256 algorithm Confirmed the bundle ID is correct for our application Checked that the API endpoint URL is correct Additional Information This implementation previously worked correctly We started experiencing 401 errors recently without changing our implementation We are using the Firebase JWT library for PHP to encode the JWT Request Could you please help identify what might be causing these authentication failures? Is there any recent change in the authentication requirements or endpoint URLs that might be affecting our integration? Thanks for support me.

Download ID in AppTransaction
Hello, I would like to draw your attention to the following imperfection. For validating purchases of my paid application Guru Maps Pro, I use the download id. This is a unique ID that can replace the Transaction ID for paid applications. However, with the release of the new AppTransaction API, this field is no longer present in the data. I tried parsing the receipt, but that field is absent there as well. The only way to obtain the download id is to send the receipt to the deprecated /verifyReceipt endpoint. This deprecated status concerns me, because at some point it might stop working. Let me explain a little about why I need this. My users have a guru-account, which they can use both in the web version and on Android. When a user purchases the paid version of the application, they can access the paid features on both web and Android. This works great for in-app purchases, where there is a transaction ID, but it may soon stop working for paid applications because there is no way to determine any ID associated with the purchase. Transaction ID or Download ID – I don't mind which.

Operation of Server Notifications V2 when Apple account is withdrawal
Please allow me to confirm the Server Notifications V2 specification. I am aware that if withdrawal an Apple account that has a subscription, the subscription will eventually be cancelled. Regarding Server Notifications V2 notifications with a notificationType of EXPIRED, am I correct in thinking that they will be sent when the subscription expires even if the Apple account is withdrawal?

storekit_no_response
Our app cannot retrieve in-app purchase products from the App Store. We're getting a "storekit_no_response" error when attempting to fetch product information, despite having all products properly configured in App Store Connect. Error: IAPError(code: storekit_no_response, source: app_store, message: StoreKit: Failed to get response from platform., details: null) Verified product IDs match exactly what's in App Store Connect Confirmed we're using a Sandbox Test Account Checked that In-App Purchase capability is enabled Waited over 24 hours for product availability Tried multiple product ID formats This issue is preventing us from implementing subscription functionality in our app. We need assistance determining why StoreKit isn't responding to our product queries. Thank you for your help.

repeat subscription
After the user initiates the subscription payment, the SDK returns an error type: user cancels. When the user initiates the payment again, Apple will deduct the payment twice and successfully deduct the previously cancelled SKU. This is a recent occurrence with a large amount of data, and the app has not been upgraded in any way. We need to seek help. Thank you

Does scheduling a price change of a subscription while keeping the original price for existing subscribers trigger messaging to those users?
We're planning on increasing the price of our ios in-app subscription. We will select the option "Keep the current price for existing subscribers" Reading this https://developer.apple.com/help/app-store-connect/manage-subscriptions/manage-pricing-for-auto-renewable-subscriptions/, it's not clear if existing subscribers will be notified of the change in pricing (even though that change won't impact them) or not?

Inquiry about Successful Subscription Without Payment Charge
Hi, I'm a server developer working on an iOS app, and I've encountered an interesting case that I'd like to understand better. We received a user report indicating that they were able to successfully start a subscription without any charge being processed on their payment method. The subscription appears to be active in our system and we can verify the receipt with Apple's server, but the user claims no payment was deducted from their account. I'm curious to know: Are there any known scenarios where a subscription might activate without an immediate payment charge? What would be the recommended way to handle such cases from the developer's perspective? Could this be related to any specific subscription states or edge cases in the IAP system? Any insights or documentation references would be greatly appreciated. I want to ensure we're handling our subscription logic correctly and providing the best experience for our users. Thank you in advance for your help!

StoreKit2 caches local raw transactions and retrieval
FB19377002 I am looking to improve and review my subscription purchase handling logic, for the best user experience. Considering that StoreKit2 caches local raw transactions (in case user is offline), is it really necessary to persist "unlocked status" in UserDefaults or SwiftData Model or AppStorage? Are there significant delays when reading Transaction.currentEntitlements from locally stored cache, versus reading it from UserDefaults; or, as in the latest SKDemo example, even reading it from stored in SwiftData ? https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/706450 I only have subscriptions ( I don't have noncosumable or consubale products). Do I still need to persist subscription status?

Clarification on offerIdentifier Behavior in TransactionPayload and Upgrade Scenarios
Hello everyone, I have some questions regarding the behavior of the offerIdentifier property in the TransactionPayload from App Store Server Notifications. When a user redeems an Offer Code, the offerIdentifier field is populated with the respective identifier. However, I am unsure how this field behaves in different scenarios, and I would appreciate any insights or clarification: Does the offerIdentifier persist throughout the subscription lifecycle (from the initial purchase to expiration)? Does it become null once the Offer Code benefits expire? Is it only present at the time of purchase and omitted in subsequent notifications? Additionally, I would like to understand the behavior of the offerIdentifier in the following scenario: A user purchases a lower-tier subscription using an Offer Code. Later, they upgrade to a higher-tier plan, causing the Offer Code benefits to effectively expire. What happens to the offerIdentifier in the transaction for the upgrade? Will it still appear in transactions after the upgrade, or will it be null? I couldn't find explicit details about these situations in the official documentation, so I hope someone here might have experience or knowledge to share. Thank you in advance for your help!
