Duplicated SCEP client certificates on iOS device
I am having an issue with duplicated SCEP client certificates on an iOS device. We deployed an SCEP profile via MDM, then deleted and redeployed it via MDM. In Settings > General > VPN & Device Management, only one SCEP profile is visible. However, Safari shows duplicated certificates when a server requests a client certificate. We have tried removing the cert profile on MDM and unenrolling the device from MDM, but only the latest certificate got removed, leaving previous ones stuck on the device or in the Safari app. We have found no way to remove these duplicated certificates other than factory reset the devices. This appears to be a potential iOS bug affecting certificate cleanup. We need assistance to resolve this issue. Also, the issue is difficult to reproduce but has happened to a number of our managed devices.

Can not access VPP server "ax.itunes.apple.com"
Hi Dear Apple Developer, We had some problem to ping iTunes server since Oct-30, 2024. Previously we can ping the VPP server url http://ax.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStoreServices.woa/wa/wsSearch?media=software&entity=software&country=US&lang=en_us&limit=1&term= w/o any issues, but now it failed. Even if I tried to use "https" to access the above url, it still failed with error "This server could not prove that it is ax.itunes.apple.com; its security certificate is from a248.e.akamai.net. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection." And finally ended with this error "Access Denied You don't have permission to access "http://ax.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStoreServices.woa/wa/wsSearch?" on this server. Reference #18.55503617.1730815948.be1bde3 https://errors.edgesuite.net/18.55503617.1730815948.be1bde3" Same that we had problem to get VPP app details via url: http://ax.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStoreServices.woa/wa/wsLookup?country=us&id=6445849909 Is there any changes to this url recently? Thanks, Wei

What is recommended way to manage Apple IDs for supervised iPhones?
Hello Apple Community, We are integrating Apple Tap to Pay into our Point of Sale (POS) application. Our organization manages a fleet of supervised iPhones using Apple Business Manager (ABM) and Mobile Device Management (MDM) to onboard devices with preferred settings and automatically install our POS app via MDM-assigned licenses, then our OPS team installs our devices at merchant location and trains their staff on how to operate our service. So far, we have avoided using Apple IDs on these devices, as our setup has relied solely on MDM enrollment and app deployment. However, Apple Tap to Pay requires an Apple ID and Passcode, which presents a challenge for automation at scale. Our Questions: 1. Generally speaking, is there a recommended flow to manage Apple ID and Passcode for our case? 2. Is Managed Apple ID supported by Tap To Pay flow? 3. Is there a way to automate creation of Managed (or regular one if Managed is not supported by Tap to Pay) Apple ID and assignment into supervised iPhone via Apple MDM protocol? 4. Both regular and managed Apple ID requires 2FA via phone number. It appears Passkeys and Authentication Apps are not supported. What is recommended way to manage 2FA phone numbers on a scale of thousands of merchants? 5. Is there a way to enforce/assign specific passcode into supervised iPhone via Apple MDM protocol? Key Considerations: • Devices are corporate-owned and supervised. • Practice shows that merchant staff is unable to manage Apple ID or any sort of iPhone credentials on their own due to frequent staff rotation and sometimes malicious actions by former employees. • MDM is used to manage deployment, security policies, and app installations and updates. • The goal is to avoid requiring end-users to manually sign in with Apple IDs and assign Passcode on each device. Thank you!

macOS login issue with federation
We have couple of devices that are registered into Platform SSO, and we have been noticing an issue when the user tried to login. After the users enters the password and hit the return key nothing happens, they need to hit the return key probably 10-15 times in order for the login to happen, the password entered is the correct one and it's just that hitting the return key doesn't invoke the login. On checking the log of the device one unusual thing that we noticed as compared to a different device where the login is working in a single go is that the AppSSOAgent or AppSSODaemon process were not getting invoked

Urgent Assistance Needed: Developer Account Blocked Without Notice
Hello Apple Support, I'm reaching out in desperation, as my Apple Developer account was suddenly blocked without any prior notice. I'm writing from a different email address because I can't access my original account at all. I've dedicated years of hard work, energy, and resources to build my applications and support my users through this platform. The sudden blocking of my account has not only put my business in jeopardy but also significantly impacted my personal life, as my income and livelihood heavily depend on it. The potential loss of revenue and the disruption to my users is devastating. I’m deeply hurt and disheartened by the lack of communication and would appreciate any help to resolve this situation as quickly as possible. I kindly request guidance on how I can recover my account, or at the very least, understand why this action was taken. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I’m hopeful for a quick resolution.

Enterprise Device Management
We are trying to develop an app that will be responsible for managing 5000+ managed iPads through Intune MDM. The user flow is to have a device locked to a single app when a user is not logged in, but to make the device available to other apps once a user is authenticated. We already tried UIAccessibility GuidedAccess Mode and autonomous single app mode but those were not sufficient due to our need to be able to toggle this from the background. When the device may be asleep. So another way we could achieve this functionality would be to control all app access under a launching mechanism. That way we could allow one app to be visible in our MDM configuration and try to access our business app through that using deep links. If this were to work, we would have to be able to hide an app and still make it launchable from the manager. Any ideas? Thanks

Unable to install some vpp apps in user enrolled devices
We are doing application assignment to personal iOS devices that are enrolled in MDM via User Enrollment. However, we're experiencing some odd behavior when assigning licenses. We are getting back errors from the devices when doing assignments: code: 12064, domain: MDMErrorDomain, description: Could not retrieve licence for the app with iTunes Store ID 422689480. code: 2605, domain: DeviceManagement.error, description: No licence was found for app "com.google.Gmail". However, we are not seeing license exhaustion on the Apple Business Manager side for our location. We are not clear what would cause the 12064 or 2605 errors. We have tried re-sending the command to install the app, and we have tried un-enrolling devices and re-enrolling, as well as updating the VPP Token for the location. We have gathered sysdiagnoses from affected devices, but it's not clear what causes this. What other causes are there for 12064 and 2605 errors? How can we work around these?

How to access DEP device data from Apple Business Manager via API
I am currently working on a Visual Basic .NET project and aim to integrate an internal application with the Apple Business Manager API to access DEP (Device Enrollment Program) device data. Specifically, I would like to request any guidance on the following aspects: Generating a Valid Access Token: I am aware that JSON tokens are required to interact with the API, but I am unsure of the correct procedure to create a valid token for accessing the Apple Business Manager data. How to set permissions for accessing DEP Device Data: What steps do I need to follow to obtain the necessary permissions to read DEP device data from Apple Buiness Manager? Are there specific configurations or approval processes that need to be completed within Apple Developer Account oder Apple Business Manager account (which both uses same Apple ID)? API Endpoints and Documentation to access Business Manager by API: Could you please point me to the relevant APIs and endpoints for interacting with the DEP data? Which web requests to send where? Any documentation that outlines the API structure fur Business Manager access and how and where to obtain access tokens for it. Thanks for any assistance as I stuck here since it is ma first project accessing Apple APIs.

ExFAT External Drive Deletion is Slow
Hello guys, I wanted to reach out to see if any of you have experienced or come across an issue we are facing in our organization. We are encountering a campus-wide problem where Macs are take an unusually long time to delete files on external drives formatted with ExFAT. We manage these Macs through Jamf Pro, and numerous policies are applied when the devices are enrolled. We have tested the issue in both scenarios—when the Macs are connected to the domain and when they are not—and the slow deletion persists in both cases. At this point, we are unsure whether the issue lies on our end or if it is related to the operating system itself. If anyone has found a fix or workaround for this problem, we would appreciate your input.

Online Gambling app Fee structure
Hello, I am writing a research paper for my college marketing class and was hoping to get some insight as to the cost structure applicable to an online gambling app. The hypothetical app in question is an app in which users are able to use real money to bet on games but I can not find a cost structure besides the common in app purchase revenue sharing model of 30%. Is this still applicable in this hypothetical case or is an alternative revenue sharing model applicable due to this app's unique structure. Furthermore, would this fee be taken from bets (due to the apps losses) or from all realized profits?

Client Identity is not used in DNS over TLS/HTTPS configuration
I am trying to create a DNS over HTTPS and DNS over TLS server that requires authentication with a client certificate and configure it in the Device Management Profile for use from the iPhone. Apple ID & Apple School Manager
Is there a way for our app to deny Apple ID users from logging into the app if the Apple ID is not specifically managed by Apple School Manager? This would allow only students to be able to use the app. Basically is there a way for us to know if an Apple ID was created by Apple School Manager?

Kernel Panic: SEP Panic (SKS) Triggered by MDM Clear Passcode on iOS 18.3.2 (iPhone 12 Pro)
Hello Developers, We are encountering a consistent Kernel Panic issue on an iPhone device after sending a "Clear Passcode" command via our MDM solution. We're looking for insights or confirmation if others have experienced similar behavior. Device & Environment Details: Device: iPhone13,2 (iPhone 12 Pro) OS Version: iPhone OS 18.3.2 (Build 22D82) (Please note this appears to be a future/beta build identifier) Action Triggering Panic: Sending MDM ClearPasscode command. Roots Installed: 0 (Device is not jailbroken) Incident ID: 4B41C0AE-EE93-4051-BEE4-AB98438C10F0 Panic Log Summary: The kernel panic log clearly indicates the issue originates from the Secure Enclave Processor (SEP). The key panic string is: panic(cpu 3 caller 0xfffffff02357bc1c): SEP Panic: :sks /sks : 0x1000b15fc 0x0003ad60 0x0003ad44 0x100028698 0x10002cae4 0x10002a908 0x10002bc10 0x100045330 [hgggrhlvs] Panic app vers: 1827.80.10 Panic app UUID: 4C066E88-EB93-33C3-BCA7-C5F5474831CC ... Root task vers: AppleSEPOS-2772.80.2 Root task UUID: A39D6C5D-D07D-33EE-85A3-9105A8D93CE2 ... sks /sks 0x329cc/0x326e0/0x1314131413141314 ert/BOOT Use code with caution. The SEP Panic and reference to :sks /sks strongly suggest an issue within the Secure Key Store subsystem of the SEP. The panic occurred on CPU core 3. The kernel backtrace points to the com.apple.driver.AppleSEPManager kernel extension as the immediate caller in the main kernel that initiated the panic process after receiving the signal from the SEP. Analysis/Interpretation: Based on the log, it appears that the MDM ClearPasscode command, which necessarily interacts with the SEP's Secure Key Store via the AppleSEPManager driver, triggered an internal fault or bug within the SEP firmware (AppleSEPOS). This SEP-level panic subsequently caused the main iOS kernel to panic. Questions: Has anyone else encountered similar SEP panics, specifically involving the SKS subsystem, particularly after issuing MDM commands like ClearPasscode on iOS 18.x builds (especially 18.3.2 / 22D82)? Is this a known issue in this specific iOS/SEP firmware version? Are there any suggested workarounds for clearing passcodes via MDM on affected devices/OS versions, or any further diagnostic steps recommended? We appreciate any insights or shared experiences the community might have on this issue. Thank you.

App no longer available Pop-up
On October 4, 2024, the enterprise app we are using showed a "(app name) is no longer available" pop-up on certain devices and the app was not available. And if those users delete the app and reinstall it, "I can't install (app name) because I can't verify integrity, I can't install this app" pop up. The profile of the app was renewed in February this year, and membership, certificate, and profile were all not expired. Currently, the problem has been solved by re-deploying the app, Please tell me the cause of the phenomenon and how to take preventive measures.

GetToken for service type com.apple.maid is not working
I have created a jwt token with headers { 'typ': 'JWT', 'alg': 'RS256' } and claim as : { 'iss': dep server UUID from Accounts call, 'iat': epoc time in seconds, 'jti': random uuid, 'service_type': 'com.apple.maid' } And signed the token with private key created during DEP MDM server creation. On the device I see Verification error when tried to login with Managed Apple account. In ABM, Access management setting was set to Managed Devices /Supervised only. Any help would be appreciated.

Automated Certificate Management Blocked by -60005 Security Framework Error
Attempts to programmatically update or add numerous system-installed certificates (a common practice for organizations that rotate certificates regularly) are blocked, forcing manual, insecure, and error-prone workarounds. The root cause lies in the stricter security protocols implemented in macOS 15, specifically: System Integrity Protection (SIP) and Transparency, Consent, and Control (TCC) Command we are using : sudo security authorizationdb write com.apple.trust-settings.admin
