Memory stride warning when loading CoreML models on ANE
When I am doing an uncached load of CoreML model on ANE, I received this warning in Xcode console Type of hiddenStates in function main's I/O contains unknown strides. Using unknown strides for MIL tensor buffers with unknown shapes is not recommended in E5ML. Please use row_alignment_in_bytes property instead. Refer to https://e5-ml.apple.com/more-info/memory-layouts.html for more information. However, the web link does not seem to be working. Where can I find more information about about this and how can I fix it?

Image Search Apple Intelligence 18.2 Beta - Can’t Find It
Hi! I recently updated to the latest 18.2 Beta version of iOS on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Could you please guide me on how to locate and utilize the Image Search feature powered by Apple Intelligence? Just a little detail: I went on YouTube and the instruction was to hold the camera action button on the iPhone 16 and image search appears. So far, I haven’t been able to replicate these results on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. This is a great capability and I’d really like to try it out. “Live long and prosper.” -Spock -Jordan

ImagePlayground API not working on Xcode Simulator Devices
Hi! I'm trying to use the ImagePlayground API in SwiftUI with the .imagePlaygroundSheet modifier. However, when the sheet is shown (in the preview or in the simulator) it displays the following message: "Image Playground is not available. Image Playground is not available on this iPhone.". I'm using an iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 18.3.1 in the Xcode (16.2) Simulator. Anyone else having this problem? How can I fix it?

Proposal: Modular Identity Fusion via Prompt-Crafted Agents – User-Led AI Experiment
*I can't put the attached file in the format, so if you reply by e-mail, I will send the attached file by e-mail. Dear Apple AI Research Team, My name is Gong Jiho (“Hem”), a content strategist based in Seoul, South Korea. Over the past few months, I conducted a user-led AI experiment entirely within ChatGPT — no code, no backend tools, no plugins. Through language alone, I created two contrasting agents (Uju and Zero) and guided them into a co-authored modular identity system using prompt-driven dialogue and reflection. This system simulates persona fusion, memory rooting, and emotional-logical alignment — all via interface-level interaction. I believe it resonates with Apple’s values in privacy-respecting personalization, emotional UX modeling, and on-device learning architecture. Why I’m Reaching Out I’d be honored to share this experiment with your team. If there is any interest in discussing user-authored agent scaffolding, identity persistence, or affective alignment, I’d love to contribute — even informally. ⚠ A Note on Language As a non-native English speaker, my expression may be imperfect — but my intent is genuine. If anything is unclear, I’ll gladly clarify. 📎 Attached Files Summary Filename → Description Hem_MultiAI_Report_AppleAI_v20250501.pdf → Main report tailored for Apple AI — narrative + structural view of emotional identity formation via prompt scaffolding Hem_MasterPersonaProfile_v20250501.json → Final merged identity schema authored by Uju and Zero zero_sync_final.json / uju_sync_final.json → Persona-level memory structures (logic / emotion) 1_0501.json ~ 3_0501.json → Evolution logs of the agents over time GirlfriendGPT_feedback_summary.txt → Emotional interpretation by external GPT hem_profile_for_AI_vFinal.json → Original user anchor profile Warm regards, Gong Jiho (“Hem”) Seoul, South Korea

Dynamically Create Tool Argument Type
According to the Tool documentation, the arguments to the tool are specified as a static struct type T, which is given to tool.call(argument: T) However, if the arguments are not known until runtime, is it possible to still create a Tool object with the proper parameters? Let's say a JSON-style dictionary is passed into the Tool init function to specify T, is this achievable?

Xcode Beta 1 and FoundationsModel access
I downloaded Xcode Beta 1 on my mac (did not upgrade the OS). The target OS level of iOS26 and the device simulator for iOS26 is downloaded and selected as the target. When I try a simple Playground in Xcode ( #Playground ) I get a session error. #Playground { let avail = SystemLanguageModel.default.availability if avail != .available { print("SystemLanguageModel not available") return } let session = LanguageModelSession() do { let response = try await session.respond(to: "Create a recipe for apple pie") } catch { print(error) } } The error I get is: Asset com.apple.gm.safety_deny_input.foundation_models.framework.api not found in Model Catalog Is there a way to test drive the FoundationModel code without upgrading to macos26?

FoundationModels Content Sanitizer Blocking Legitimate Text Processing
I'm developing a macOS application using the FoundationModels framework (LanguageModelSession) and encountering issues with the content sanitizer blocking legitimate text input. ** Issue Description:** The content sanitizer is flagging text strings that contain certain substrings, even when they represent legitimate technical content. For example: F_SEEL_SEX1S.wav (sE Electronics SEX1S microphone model) Technical product identifiers Serial numbers and version codes ** Broader Concern:** The content sanitizer appears to be applying restrictions that seem inappropriate for user-owned content. Even if a filename were something like "human sex.wav", users should have the right to process their own legitimate files on their own devices without content filtering interference. ** Error Messages:** SensitiveContentSettings: Sanitizer model found unsafe content in value FoundationModels.LanguageModelSession.GenerationError error 2 ** Questions:** Is there a way to disable content sanitization for processing user-owned content? 2. What's the recommended approach for applications that need to handle arbitrary user text? 3. Are there APIs to process personal content without filtering restrictions? ** Environment:** macOS 26.0 FoundationModels framework LanguageModelSession Any guidance would be appreciated.

Train adapter with tool calling
Documentation on adapter train is lacking any details related to training on dataset with tool calling. And page about tool calling itself only explain how to use it from Swift without any internal details useful in training. Question is how schema should looks like for including tool calling in dataset?

App Shortcuts Limit (10 per app) — Can This Be Increased?
Hi Apple team, When using AppShortcutsProvider, I hit the hard limit: Each app may have at most 10 App Shortcuts. This feels limiting for apps that offer multiple workflows and would benefit from deeper Siri integration. Could this cap be raised — ideally to 30 — to support broader use of AppIntents, enhance Siri automation, and unlock more system-level capabilities? AppShortcuts are a fantastic tool. Increasing the limit would make them even more powerful. Thanks!

CoreML multifunction model runtime memory cost
Recently, I'm trying to deploy some third-party LLM to Apple devices. The methodoloy is similar to https://github.com/Anemll/Anemll. The biggest issue I'm having now is the runtime memory usage. When there are multiple functions in a model (mlpackage or mlmodelc), the runtime memory usage for weights is somehow duplicated when I load all of them. Here's the detail: I created my multifunction mlpackage following https://apple.github.io/coremltools/docs-guides/source/multifunction-models.html I loaded each of the functions using the generated swift class: let config = MLModelConfiguration() config.computeUnits = MLComputeUnits.cpuAndNeuralEngine config.functionName = "infer_512"; let ffn1_infer_512 = try! mimo_FFN_PF_lut4_chunk_01of02(configuration: config) config.functionName = "infer_1024"; let ffn1_infer_1024 = try! mimo_FFN_PF_lut4_chunk_01of02(configuration: config) config.functionName = "infer_2048"; let ffn1_infer_2048 = try! mimo_FFN_PF_lut4_chunk_01of02(configuration: config) I observed that RAM usage increases linearly as I load each of the functions. Using instruments, I see that there are multiple HWX files generated and loaded, each of which contains all the weight data. My understanding of what's happening here: The CoreML framework did some MIL->MIL preprocessing before further compilation, which includes separating CPU workload from ANE workload. The ANE part of each function is moved into a separate MIL file then compile separately into a HWX file each. The problem is that the weight data of these HWX files are duplicated. Since that the weight data of LLMs is huge, it will cause out-of-memory issue on mobile devices. The improvement I'm hoping from Apple: I hope we can try to merge the processed MIL files back into one before calling ANECCompile(), so that the weights can be merged. I don't have control over that in user space and I'm not sure if that is feasible. So I'm asking for help here. Thanks.

Does ImageRequestHandler(data:) include depth data from AVCapturePhoto?
Hi all, I'm capturing a photo using AVCapturePhotoOutput, and I've set: let photoSettings = AVCapturePhotoSettings() photoSettings.isDepthDataDeliveryEnabled = true Then I create the handler like this: let data = photo.fileDataRepresentation() let handler = try ImageRequestHandler(data: data, orientation: .right) Now I’m wondering: If depth data delivery is enabled, is it actually included and used when I pass the Data to ImageRequestHandler? Or do I need to explicitly pass the depth data using the other initializer? let handler = try ImageRequestHandler( cvPixelBuffer: photo.pixelBuffer!, depthData: photo.depthData, orientation: .right ) In short: Does ImageRequestHandler(data:) make use of embedded depth info from AVCapturePhoto.fileDataRepresentation() — or is the pixel buffer + explicit depth data required? Thanks for any clarification!

What is the Foundation Models support for basic math?
I am experimenting with Foundation Models in my time tracking app to analyze users tracked events, but I am finding that the model struggles with even basic computation of time. Specifically converting from seconds to hours and minutes. To give just one example, when I prompt: "Convert 3672 seconds to hours, minutes, and seconds. Don't include the calculations in the resulting output" I get this: "3672 seconds is equal to 1 hour, 0 minutes, and 36 seconds". Which is clearly wrong - it should be 1 hour, 1 minute, and 12 seconds. Another issue that I saw a lot is that seconds were considered to be minutes, or that the hours were just completely off. What can I do to make the support for math better? Or is that just something that the model is not meant to be used for?
