visionOS App Not Receiving Latest Heart Rate Data from HealthKit
Hello everyone, I'm developing an app for visionOS that utilizes HealthKit to query heart rate data. However, I'm encountering an issue where the app doesn't retrieve the latest heart rate values. Specifically, it fails to get live heart rate data even after the data has been saved to the Health app. The readings my app displays are outdated and do not match the current values shown in the Health app. Here's what I've tried so far: Fetching Heart Rate Samples: Used HKSampleQuery and HKAnchoredObjectQuery to fetch the most recent heart rate samples. Despite this, the data retrieved is still not up-to-date. Checking Permissions: Ensured that all necessary HealthKit permissions are granted. The app has authorization to read heart rate data and write workout data. My questions are: Is there a known issue or limitation with HealthKit on visionOS that prevents apps from accessing the latest heart rate data? Are there additional steps or configurations required to access live heart rate data in visionOS apps? Has anyone successfully implemented live heart rate monitoring on visionOS, and if so, could you share how you achieved it?

Collisions are not detected if the entity is a child of a hand AnchorEntity
I have a created an AnchorEntity for my index finger tip and then created a model entity (A sphere) as a child of it. This model entity has a collision component and a physics body component. I tried using dynamic and kinematic modes for the physics body component. I have created a plane from a cube that has collision component and a static physics body. I have subscribed to the CollisionEvents.Began on this plane. I have also stored it in a EventSubscription state variable. @State private var collisionSubscription: EventSubscription? The I subscribed as follows collisionSubscription = content.subscribe(to: CollisionEvents.Began.self, on: self.boxTopCollision, { collisionEvent in print("something collided with the box top") }) The collision event fires when I directly put the sphere above the plane and let gravity do the collision, but when the the sphere is the child of the anchor entity, the collision events don't happen. I tried adding collision and physics body component directly to the anchor entity and that doesn't work too. I created another sphere with a physics body and a collision component and input target component and manipulate it with a drag gesture. When the manipulation is happening and collide the plane and the sphere the events don't happen when my sphere is touching the plane, but when the gesture end and the sphere is in contact with the plane, the event gets fired. I am confused as to why this is happening. All I want to do is have a collider on my finger tip and want to detect the collision with this plane. How can I make this work? Is there some unstated rule somewhere as where a physics body is manipulated manually it cannot trigger collision events? For more context. I am using SpatialTrackingSession with the tracking configuration of .hand. I am successfully able to track the finger tip.

VisionOS DockingRegion getting ignored
Hi, I added DockingRegion to my scene from Reality Composer Pro, and I am able to load up the scene, but DockingRegion is getting ignored and the scene is getting rendered with no change in AVPlayerViewController window. As it can be seen in Reality Composer Pro screenshot below, I set the width of the player to 666, and moved it to the back by 300cm, but the actual result does not reflect the position I set on Reality Composer Pro. Is there anything else I should do other than loading up the Entity and adding to RealityView? Specifically, do I have to get the DockingRegion within the usda file and somehow enable it?

Access main camera on Apple Vision Pro
From visionOS 2.0 we can access Apple Vision Pro's main camera but only for Enterprise account as it is enterprise API only, I have a normal Developer account and I want to use main camera and want to have a video call feature in app by using main camera of AVP, is it possible to do it using developer account only. Currently using that account I am not able to create entitlement certificate as there is no option.

RealityView Limits VisionOS
Im asking myself we are the limits of RealityView. For example is it possible to place an entity on postion (x=800m,y=0,z=-900m) What happens if i walk from my (0,0,0) to this point, will i see the entity then ? Does someone know where are the limits ?

The Question Of Two ARView Together
First, I scan first room using the roomplan api. Because I need scan second room, I stop it by “captureSession.stop(pauseARSession: false)”, I think the Arsession is continue work at that time. Second, before the another room will scan, I want to run another ARView. (in order to detect some objects which are not detected by Roomplan in first room) But, at this time, the second ARView(there is an ARView in roomplan, I think) will always black screen, can’t normally work. This is the question I want to resolve. Please help me let the second ARView go well.

VisionOS, passthrough through broadcast shows a black background
Hey, I have Enterprise Access on the account and have added the passthrough capability and the entitlement on the main project and the "Broadcast Upload" extension, too. The broadcast works except it returns a black screen. I am attaching some screenshots below of the entitlement file. I have tried searching online to no avail, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I am also attaching the code. import Foundation import AVFoundation import ReplayKit class VideoAssetWriter { private var isRecording = false private var outputStream: OutputStream? private func setupConnection() { guard outputStream == nil else { return } print("setting up connection.") let serverIP = macIP let port = 12345 var readStream: Unmanaged<CFReadStream>? var writeStream: Unmanaged<CFWriteStream>? CFStreamCreatePairWithSocketToHost(kCFAllocatorDefault, serverIP as CFString, UInt32(port), &readStream, &writeStream) guard let writeStream = writeStream?.takeRetainedValue() else { print("Failed to create write stream") return } self.outputStream = writeStream as OutputStream self.outputStream?.open() } func startRecording() { isRecording = true } func processVideoSampleBuffer(_ sampleBuffer: CMSampleBuffer) { print("Processing Sample 1") guard isRecording else { return } print("Processing Sample 2") sendVideoChunkToServer(sampleBuffer) } private func sendVideoChunkToServer(_ sampleBuffer: CMSampleBuffer) { guard let imageBuffer = CMSampleBufferGetImageBuffer(sampleBuffer) else { return } print("Processing Sample 3") let ciImage = CIImage(cvPixelBuffer: imageBuffer) let context = CIContext() guard let cgImage = context.createCGImage(ciImage, from: ciImage.extent) else { return } print("Processing Sample 4") let image = UIImage(cgImage: cgImage) if let imageData = image.jpegData(compressionQuality: 0.5) { guard imageData.count <= 10_000_000 else { print("Frame too large: \(imageData.count) bytes") return } if outputStream == nil { setupConnection() } print("sending frame size up connection.") // Convert to network byte order (big-endian) var frameSize = UInt32(imageData.count).bigEndian let sizeData = Data(bytes: &frameSize, count: MemoryLayout<UInt32>.size) _ = sizeData.withUnsafeBytes { outputStream?.write($0.baseAddress!.assumingMemoryBound(to: UInt8.self), maxLength: sizeData.count) } print("sending image data up connection.") // Send frame data _ = imageData.withUnsafeBytes { outputStream?.write($0.baseAddress!.assumingMemoryBound(to: UInt8.self), maxLength: imageData.count) } } } func stopRecording() { isRecording = false outputStream?.close() outputStream = nil } } This is the broadcast picker view wrapper: // Broadcast Picker View wrapper struct BroadcastButtonView: UIViewRepresentable { func makeUIView(context: Context) -> RPSystemBroadcastPickerView { let broadcastPickerView = RPSystemBroadcastPickerView( frame: CGRect(x: 0, y: 0, width: 200, height: 200) ) // Make sure this matches your broadcast extension bundle identifier broadcastPickerView.preferredExtension = "my-extension-bundle-identifier" broadcastPickerView.showsMicrophoneButton = false return broadcastPickerView } func updateUIView(_ uiView: RPSystemBroadcastPickerView, context: Context) { } } The extension SampleHandler: override func broadcastPaused() { print("paused broadcast") // User has requested to pause the broadcast. RealityKit Spatial Audio - Volume drops abruptly
I have a class with an Entity, on which I added a Spatial Audio component. Furthermore, I have a function, which uses the playAudio() method to start the Spatial Audio. During the first call of the function, everything is fine. If I call the again, the audio volume drops abruptly after a half second. It is very quiet. Approximately, I have following code: class VoiceOutputPlayer: NSObject, ObservableObject, AVAudioPlayerDelegate { private var speechEntity = Entity() func play() { Task{ let audioRessource = try await AudioFileResource(contentsOf: urlWave) self.speechEntity.playAudio(audioRessource) } } func initSpatialAudio() -> Entity { speechEntity.transform.translation.y = -0.37 speechEntity.transform.translation.z = 0.09 speechEntity.spatialAudio = SpatialAudioComponent(gain: Double.zero) speechEntity.spatialAudio?.reverbLevel = -2 speechEntity.spatialAudio?.directivity = .beam(focus: 0.9) speechEntity.orientation = .init(angle: .pi, axis: [0, 1, 0]) speechEntity.spatialAudio?.distanceAttenuation = .rolloff(factor: 1) return speechEntity } } Have visionOS 2.2 on the Apple Vision Pro and use Xcode 16.1

Proper way of handing opening ImmersiveSpace?
if you check the code here, https://developer.apple.com/documentation/compositorservices/interacting-with-virtual-content-blended-with-passthrough var body: some Scene { ImmersiveSpace(id: Self.id) { CompositorLayer(configuration: ContentStageConfiguration()) { layerRenderer in let pathCollection: PathCollection do { pathCollection = try PathCollection(layerRenderer: layerRenderer) } catch { fatalError("Failed to create path collection \(error)") } let tintRenderer: TintRenderer do { tintRenderer = try TintRenderer(layerRenderer: layerRenderer) } catch { fatalError("Failed to create tint renderer \(error)") } Task(priority: .high) { @RendererActor in Task { @MainActor in appModel.pathCollection = pathCollection appModel.tintRenderer = tintRenderer } let renderer = try await Renderer(layerRenderer, appModel, pathCollection, tintRenderer) try await renderer.renderLoop() Task { @MainActor in appModel.pathCollection = nil appModel.tintRenderer = nil } } layerRenderer.onSpatialEvent = { pathCollection.addEvents(eventCollection: $0) } } } .immersionStyle(selection: .constant(appModel.immersionStyle), in: .mixed, .full) .upperLimbVisibility(appModel.upperLimbVisibility) the only way it's dealing with the error is fatalError. And don't think I can throw anything or return anything else? Is there a way I can gracefully handle this and show a message box in UI? I was hoping I could somehow trigger a failure and have https://developer.apple.com/documentation/swiftui/openimmersivespaceaction return fail. but couldn't find a nice way to do so. Let me know if you have ideas.

USDZ file not loading on Apple Vision Pro
I'm working on a school project that allows users to open a .USDZ file (using Quick Look) on the webpage while using Apple Vision Pro to put the object in their physical envirnment, the project is deployed on Vercel. I'm testing the page with my apple vision pro, when I click open the .USDZ file, I'm seeing a triangle with an exclamation mark while it's trying to load, but it won't load. Does anybody know how to troubleshoot this issue?

I am developing a Immersive Video App for VisionOs but I got a issue regarding app and video player window
In Vision OS app, We have two types of windows: Main App Window – This is the default window that launches when the app starts. It displays the video listings and other primary content. Immersive Space Window – This opens only when a user starts streaming or playing a video. Issue: When entering the immersive space, the main app window remains visible in front of it unless manually closed. To avoid this, I currently close the main window when transitioning to immersive space and reopen it when exiting. However, this causes the app to restart instead of resuming from its previous state. Desired Behavior: I want the main app window to retain its state and seamlessly resume from where it was before entering immersive mode, rather than restarting. Attempts & Challenges: Tried managing opacity, visibility, and state preservation, but none worked as expected. Couldn’t find a way to push the main window to the background while bringing the immersive space to the foreground. Looking for a solution to keep the main window’s state intact while transitioning between immersive and normal modes.

Creating and applying a shader to change an entity's rendering in RealityKit
Hello, I am looking to create a shader to update an entity's rendering. As a basic example say I want to recolour an entity, but leave its original textures showing through: I understand with VisionOS I need to use Reality Composer Pro to create the shader, but I'm lost as how to reference the original colour that I'm trying to update in the node graph. All my attempts appear to completely override the textures in the entity (and its sub-entities) that I want to impact. Also the tutorials / examples I've looked at appear to create materials, not add an effect on top of existing materials. Any hints or pointers? Assuming this is possible, I've been trying to load the material in code, and apply to an entity. But do I need to do this to all child entities, or just the topmost? do { let entity = MyAssets.createModelEntity(.plane) // Loads from bundle and performs config let material = try await ShaderGraphMaterial(named: "/Root/TestMaterial", from: "Test", in: realityKitContentBundle) entity.applyToChildren { $0.components[ModelComponent.self]?.materials = [material] } root.addChild(entity) } catch { fatalError(error.localizedDescription) }

Envision the future: Build great apps for visionOS
I am honored that I successfully participated in the "Envision the future: Build great apps for visionOS"(https://developer.apple.com/events/view/ZCH7ZUY24C/dashboard) conference. However, unfortunately, I am in China, and due to the visa problem (because it usually takes at least 2 months to apply for a visa, but it only takes about 10 days from the time I received the notice to the meeting), I can't go to the United States to participate in the site. So I hope Apple can place an iPad on site and create a FaceTime link, and then I can make a call to this iPad. I also told Apple about this suggestion, but now there are only a few days left to start. They didn't reply to me. Even Apple has sent me the ticket to the Developer Center and asked me to add it to the Apple Wallet App, which means that Apple has not There is a request to deal with me. So I hope you can give me some advice or help me for those who know about this aspect. For Apple's internal engineers, if possible, I hope you can contact the person who manages this meeting. I'm very grateful for this. Thank you.

Is dismissWindow actually asynchronous?
On visionOS, I have discovered that if dismissWindow is followed immediately by a call to openWindow, the new window does not open where the user is looking at. Instead, it appears at the same location as the dismissed window. However, if I open the new window after a small delay, or after UIScene's willDeactivateNotification, the new window correctly opens in front of the user. (I tested this within a opened immersive space.) Does this imply that dismissWindow is actually asynchronous, in the sense that it requires extra time to reset certain internal states before the next openWindow can be called? What is the best practice to close a window, then open a new window in front of the user's current head position?

The multiview video screen turns blank when returning
I am encountering an issue while using the multiview video demo provided at this link "https://developer.apple.com/documentation/avkit/creating-a-multiview-video-playback-experience-in-visionos/". Specifically, when running on versions of visionOS prior to 2.2, navigating back results in a blank screen. Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a solution? Any advice or workaround would be greatly appreciated.
