RoomPlan CaptureError.exceedSceneSizeLimit on iOS devices
When scanning multiple rooms (10+) in a single structure using ARWorldMap for coordinate space consistency, RoomCaptureSession throws CaptureError.exceedSceneSizeLimit. The instructions here (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/roomplan/scanning-the-rooms-of-a-single-structure) provide exactly what I am doing to keep the underlying ARSession alive (by calling captureSession.stop(pause: false)) and save the results before a user moves to the next room. Scanning 11 or so rooms will cause the user to hit the exceedSceneSizeLimit error. The ARWorldMap is about 58 MB and always is around this size when hitting this issue. No anchors are present and all the data seems to be from tracking data. On iPad devices (where I do not see this issue) the ARWorldMap grows as a significantly slower rate in size. I save the ARWorldMap after each room is scanned and confirmed by the user. If I use the ARMap to initialize the ARSession (as described in the docs) the session will immediately error with "exceedSceneSizeLimit" once the captureSession.run() is executed. Occasionally it will allow me/the user to scan again, but either breaks mid scan or the following. This has been working fine for the past 2 years and users have been able to scan dozens of rooms without issue. It seems only lately that it has been a problem. I would expect the ARWorldMap to be allowed for much bigger sizes. At this point I can just about scan more area of my house with a single scan than I can when I use different captureSessions. Few observations: This happens on my iPhone 15 Pro Max, my iPhone 17 Pro, but not my iPad M4 (maybe memory related?). It is possible if scanning many more rooms it would happen on the iPad too. I have tried things such as resetting the ARConfig on the underlying ARSession to reset some, but this doesn't work. I have tried to create a new ARWorldMap and move the origin to the older map to clear out tracking data. This almost works but causes a mess of issues when a user moves at all due to the unshared coordinate space. I believe there are three active issues regarding this: FB14454922, FB15035788, FB20642944 Could we get an update for this issue? It is a production issue and severely limits my user experience in my production application.

version update in Vision Pro
Hi, I'm developing an app for Vision Pro using Xcode, while updating the latest update, things that worked in my app suddenly didn't. in my app flow I'm tapping spheres to get their positions, from some reason I get an offset from where I tap to where a marker on that position is showing up. here's the part of code that does that, and a part that is responsible for an alignment that happens afterwards: func loadMainScene(at position: SIMD3) async { guard let content = self.content else { return } do { let rootEntity = try await Entity(named: "surgery 16.09", in: realityKitContentBundle) rootEntity.scale = SIMD3<Float>(repeating: 0.5) rootEntity.generateCollisionShapes(recursive: true) self.modelRootEntity = rootEntity let bounds = rootEntity.visualBounds(relativeTo: nil) print("📏 Model bounds: center=\(bounds.center), extents=\(bounds.extents)") let pivotEntity = Entity() pivotEntity.addChild(rootEntity) self.pivotEntity = pivotEntity let modelAnchor = AnchorEntity(world: [1, 1.3, -0.8]) modelAnchor.addChild(pivotEntity) content.add(modelAnchor) updateModelOpacity(0.5) self.modelAnchor = modelAnchor rootEntity.visit { entity in print("👀 Entity in model: \(entity.name)") if entity.name.lowercased().hasPrefix("focus") { entity.generateCollisionShapes(recursive: true) entity.components.set(InputTargetComponent()) print("🎯 Made tappable: \(entity.name)") } } print("✅ Model loaded with collisions") guard let sphere = placementSphere else { return } let sphereWorldXform = sphere.transformMatrix(relativeTo: nil) var newXform = sphereWorldXform newXform.columns.3.y += 0.1 // move up by 20 cm let gridAnchor = AnchorEntity(world: newXform) self.gridAnchor = gridAnchor content.add(gridAnchor) let baseScene = try await Entity(named: "Scene", in: realityKitContentBundle) let gridSizeX = 18 let gridSizeY = 10 let gridSizeZ = 10 let spacing: Float = 0.05 let startX: Float = -Float(gridSizeX - Volumetric window not sharing in SharePlay session for VisionOS
I've been struggling with this for far too long so I've decided to finally come here and see if anyone can point me to the documentation that I'm missing. I'm sure it's something so simple but I just can't figure it out. I can SharePlay our test app with my brother (device to device) but when I open a volumetric window, it says "not shared" under it. I assume this will likely fix the video sharing problem we have as well. Everything else works so smooth but SharePlay has just been such a struggle for me. It's the last piece to the puzzle before we can put it on the App Store.

Possible contradiction between ARKit's definition of UIDeviceOrientation.landscapeRight and the actual definition of UIDeviceOrientation.landscapeRight
So it seems to be that there is a contradiction between how ARKit defines UIDeviceOrientation.landscapeRight, and the actual definition of UIDeviceOrientation.landscapeRight in the UIKit documentation. In the ARKit documentation for ARCamera.transform, it says the following: This transform creates a local coordinate space for the camera that is constant with respect to device orientation. In camera space, the x-axis points to the right when the device is in UIDeviceOrientation.landscapeRight orientation—that is, the x-axis always points along the long axis of the device, from the front-facing camera toward the Home button. The y-axis points upward (with respect to UIDeviceOrientation.landscapeRight orientation), and the z-axis points away from the device on the screen side. Going through the same link, we see the definition of UIDeviceOrientation.landscapeRight given as: The device is in landscape mode, with the device held upright and the front-facing camera on the right side. There seems to be a conflict in the two definitions, that has already been asked and visualized in this StackOverflow thread The resolution of that answer says that ARKit landscapeRight, unlike what is given in UIDeviceOrientation.landscapeRight, has home button on the right, as stated in the ARCamera.transform documentation. It says that more details are given in this StackOverflow thread, but this thread talks about the discrepancy between the definitions of landscapeRight in UIDeviceOrientation and UIInterfaceOrientation, and not anything related to ARKit. So I am wondering, why does ARKit definition of landscapeRight contradict with that of UIDeviceOrientation despite explicitly mentioning it? Is it just a mistake by Apple developers that hasn't been resolved even after so long?

ImmersiveSpace orphaned when WindowGroup closes
Environment visionOS 26.1, Xcode 26.1.1 Problem When a WindowGroup opens an ImmersiveSpace and the user closes the window via X button, the async Task in .onDisappear gets cancelled before dismissImmersiveSpace() completes, leaving the ImmersiveSpace active with no way to exit. Steps WindowGroup opens ImmersiveSpace in .onAppear User clicks X to close window .onDisappear fires but async cleanup cancelled ImmersiveSpace remains active, user trapped Expected ImmersiveSpace dismissed when window closes Actual ImmersiveSpace remains active Code .onAppear { Task { await openImmersiveSpace(id: "VideoCallMainCamera") } } .onDisappear { Task { await dismissImmersiveSpace() // Gets cancelled } } What I've Tried Task in .onDisappear ❌ scenePhase monitoring ❌ High priority Task ❌ .restorationBehavior(.disabled) + .defaultLaunchBehavior(.suppressed) ✅ (prevents restoration but doesn't fix immediate cleanup) Question What's the recommended pattern for ensuring ImmersiveSpace cleanup when WindowGroup closes? Is there a way to block window closure until async cleanup completes, or should ImmersiveSpaces automatically dismiss with their parent window?

Issue: Closing Bounded Volume Never Re-Opens
Greetings. I am having this issue with a Unity Polyspatial VisionOS app. We have our main Bounded Volume for our app. We have other Native UI windows that appear when we interact with objects in our Bounded Volume. If a user closes our main Bounded Volume...sometimes it quits the app. Sometimes it doesn't. If we go back to the home screen and reopen the app, our main Bounded Volume doesn't always appear, and just the Native UI windows we left open are visible. But, we can sometimes still hear sounds that are playing in our Bounded Volume. What solutions are there to make sure our Bounded Volume always appears when the app is open?

Sticky Horizontal AnchorEntity
Hi, I'm trying to use AnchorEntity for horizontal surfaces. It works when the entity is being created, but I'm looking for a way to snap this entity to the nearest surface, after translating it, for example with a DragGesture. What would be the best way to achieve this? Using raycast, creating a new anchor, trackingMode to continuous etc. Do I need to use ARKitSession as I want continuous tracking?

Launching a Unity fully immersive game from SwiftUI
I am trying to launch a fully immersive game from Unity on a SwiftUI view. The game is using Metal Rendering with Compositor Services. I added the unity Xcode project into the workspace, added the necessary bridge code. When I click on the button to call ufw?.showUnityWindow(), it does not start and I get the following in the console: AR session failed to start after 5 seconds. Is the app configured to use an immersive space?

Hello, I'm currently trying to make a collaborative app. But it just works only on Reality View, when I tried to use Compositor Layer like below, the personas disappeared. ImmersiveSpace(id: "ImmersiveSpace-Metal") { CompositorLayer(configuration: MetalLayerConfiguration()) { layerRenderer in SpatialRenderer_InitAndRun(layerRenderer) } } Is there any potential solution too see Personas in Metal view? Thanks in advance!

VisionOS Enterprise API Not Working
My development team admin requested the Enterprise API for camera access on the vision pro. We got that granted, got a license for usage, and got instructions for integrating it with next steps. We did the following: Even when I try to download and run the sample project for "Accessing the Main Camera", and follow all the exact instructions mentioned here: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/visionos/accessing-the-main-camera I am just unable to receive camera frames. I added the capabilities, created a new provisioning profile with this access, added the entitlements to info.plist and entitlements, replaced the dummy license file with the one we were sent, and also have a matching bundle identifier and development certificate, but it is still not showing camera access for some reason. "Main Camera Access" shows up in our Signing & Capabilities tab, and we also added the NSMainCameraDescription in the Info.plist and allow access while opening the app. None of this works. Not on my app, and not on the sample app that I just downloaded and tried to run on the Vision Pro after replacing the dummy license file.

Creating a voxel mesh and render it using metal within a RealityKit ImmersiveView
Hi everyone, I'm creating an educational App that allows doing computational design in an immersive environment with the Vision Pro. The App is free and can be found here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/arcade-topology/id6742103633 The problem I have is that the mesh of voxels I currently create use ModelEntity and I recently read that this is horrible for scalability. I already start to see issues when I try to use thousands of voxels. I also read somewhere that I should then take advantage of GPUs and use metal to that end. I was wondering if someone could point me to a tutorial or article that discusses this. In essence, I need to create a 3D voxel mesh, and those voxels have to update their opacity within an iterative loop. Thanks! —Alejandro

Best approach for high-quality textured room reconstruction using ARKit / RoomPlan / Object Capture?
I am developing an IOS App that allow users to scan rooms, view the scans on device, and add notes. I need to preserve actual geometry (odd angles, chamfers, fixtures), not simplified RoomPlan boxes. Are there any easy ways to incorporate high quality texture mapping or PBR? Where is the documentation for scene reconstruction?

I need to troubleshoot Transform Drift in ARKit
Hi all, I'm currently developing a real-time object reconstruction app using ARKit. The goal is to scan large objects using ARKit’s depth and transform data, and generate a point cloud. However, I’m facing a major challenge - Transform Drift / World Alignment Issues The localToWorld transform provided by ARKit frequently seems to drift or become unstable across frames. This results in misaligned point clouds even when the device is moved slowly or kept relatively still. In some cases, a static surface scanned over a few seconds results in clearly misaligned fragments. This makes it difficult to accurately stitch a multi-frame point cloud. I have experimented with various lighting conditions and object textures, but the issue persists in all cases. At times, the relative error between frames reaches up to 20 cm, while in other instances the error is minimal; however, the drift gradually accumulates over time, leading to an overall enlargement of the reconstructed object. I have attached images of both cases here. Questions: Are there specific conditions under which ARKit’s world transform is expected to drift? Is there a way to detect or recover from this drift during runtime? Any best practices for maintaining consistent tracking during scanning or measurement sessions?

window loses resize feature on reopening
I have this problem on VisionOS. When I dismiss and reopen a window from a ImagePresentationComponent, the window misses the resize ui elements when I look at the window corners. The rest of the window ui elements (drag, close...) are there. Resizing was possible before the window was dismissed. The code is something like this: WindowGroup(id: "image-display-window",..... } .windowResizability(.automatic) .windowStyle(.plain) I call dismissWindow() from the window view and it is dismissed correctly. Then I call openWindow(id: "image-display-window", value: data) from another view to reopen it. It reopens but it missing the possibility to resize. Anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks.

ARView environment.lighting IBL from HDR file
I have an iOS app that can display a USDZ model downloaded from the Internet (and cached locally) via an ARView. I would like to light that model with an image based light (IBL) also downloaded from the Internet. However, as far as I can tell, ARView can only create an IBL from a resource that has been compiled into the Xcode project and loaded with EnvironmentResource(named:in:) or EnvironmentResource.load(named:in:). Is there a way to create an EnvironmentResource from an HDRI via a file URL to use in ARView in iOS?

Metal Compositor Service & Persona (VisionOS)
