Title: 45 Days "Waiting for Review" – 3 Expedites Approved, Zero Movement. Backend Glitch?
Hey everyone, I’m completely stuck and hoping someone here (or an Apple rep) can help, because Developer Support is just sending me the exact same template replies at this point. I submitted a standard version update for my app (Hadiyyati - Luxury Gifts) back on February 7th. It has now been over 45 days, and the status is still permanently frozen on "Waiting for Review." Here is the loop I am stuck in: I've had an Expedited Review requested and approved 3 separate times. Support gives me a case number, says they contacted the App Review Board, and tells me to wait. Weeks pass, nothing happens, and when I follow up, I get: "At this time, your app review is proceeding normally, and there is no further action you need to take." 45 days for a store update is not "proceeding normally." I strongly suspect my submission (ID: aeadea76-8fb4-437c-9c04-60171b909f3e) is bugged, corrupted, or locked in a "ghost state" on the App Store Connect backend. Has anyone dealt with a completely frozen submission like this? Is there a specific magic word or channel to get Tier 2 tech support to actually check the server status without me rejecting the build and starting all over? Any advice is hugely appreciated!

My app has been stuck in the App Store review process for approximately one month
Hello, My app has been stuck in the App Store review process for approximately one month, with no progress or updates provided during this time. I have sent around 20 emails and also submitted an expedite request due to the critical nature of the issue. Unfortunately, I have not received any response to any of my inquiries. This situation has reached a critical point. Since my app is not functioning properly, I have lost all of my subscribed users, causing both financial loss and damage to my reputation. Based on my previous experience, review times are usually much shorter, so this delay appears highly unusual. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in clarifying the following: Why has my app not been reviewed yet? Why have my emails not received any response? Is there anything further I can do to expedite the review process? I kindly ask for this issue to be investigated and resolved as soon as possible. I am ready to provide any additional information if needed. App Apple ID: Apple ID:6758458093 I need a response now, please. Don't tell me to send an email because I'm not getting any replies. I just want a review to be conducted. Thank you in advance for your support. Best regards,

App Review Inefficiency
I am seriously taken aback by the efficiency of the App Review team. Jul 8, 2022 at 2:46 PM - We submitted our app on this date. Jul 9, 2022 at 10.47 AM - Our app was rejected due to 5.1.1 Legal - Data Collection and Storage. Jul 9, 2022 at 1.02 PM - I provided detailed information in relation to our business being in a highly regulated industry. Jul 13, 2022 at 8.22 AM - App Review Team replied stating that additional time is required to review. App Review status was changed to App In Review. Jul 13, 2022 at 8.36 AM - I received the same message that the issue previously identified requires our attention. Jul 13, 2022 at 1.42 PM - I replied again that information has been provided and it was confusing to have received another same App Rejection message. I contacted the App Review Team for assistance and was assured that my app will be reviewed. Jul 14, 2022 at 9.57 AM - App Review team replied that the team will continue the review and will notify if there are any further issues. 27 Jul, 2022 at 3.10 AM - App Review team replied with the same rejection message again "The issues we previously identified still need your attention..." 27 Jul, 2022 at 4.05 AM - I replied explaining that this is the 3rd time App Review team provided the same, non-helpful message and I have provided the information right from the start. 28 Jul, 2022 at 10.27 AM - App Review team replied with the same message intent explaining the policy and requested for additional information AGAIN. 28 Jul, 2022 at 10.40 AM - I replied with FRUSTRATION, providing my detail explanation and information once again (which was already provided on the Jul 9, 2022, 1.02 PM). This app has been withheld since Jul 8. Another app of ours was approved merely after 2 days of submission with the similar additional information provided in the submission notes. The App Review team has been very UNHELPFUL by replying templated messages. I am not sure the team reads through the trail of communications. Many time and money has been wasted when we had to go back to our legal advisors. I need proper avenues to get this push through. Is this a common poor attitude and service of the App Review team? Can someone from the App Review team shed some light on this?

Request for clarification: "Waiting for Review" for nearly 7 weeks
I am writing to share my frustration regarding the app review process for my application. My current submission has been stuck in "Waiting for Review" for nearly 7 weeks, starting from February 5th. Although I have attempted to cancel and resubmit periodically, there were significant gaps of 10 and 21 days between submissions where no action was taken. Currently, I am stuck again. The situation is critical for the following reasons: Critical Bug: The update includes a necessary fix for an In-App Purchase bug that is preventing users from accessing paid features. No Communication: I have sent four inquiries regarding this delay. I received only one generic response asking me to wait, and my subsequent follow-ups have been completely ignored. Expedited Review Request: My requests for an Expedited Review have also gone unanswered. Apple’s standard review time is typically 24-48 hours, but my experience is far from that. I am not asking for special treatment; I am asking for basic transparency regarding why my app has been stalled for nearly two months. Could anyone from the review team please look into this or provide an explanation? This prolonged silence is causing significant issues for my service and its users. Stuck with subscription review
I've published my app with subscriptions (app changed from paid to subscription model). I've have succesfully pass review process and app was published to App Store without subscription store, so no one can buy app (still working as paid, but will expire in few days forcing users to subscribe). I want to attach subscriptions to new build, but I can't - there are no options mentioned in documentation. I'm stuck. There is no any contact point to review team. I've created 3 cases, nobody reads them (oldest 3 weeks). The whole approval process looks broken, Apple team shouldn't approve app with subscriptions without subscriptions added to review. I must immediately publish my app with critical fixes, but I can't. I am devastated, i don't know what to do...

4.3(b) Appeal Pending for 23 Days - No Visibility in Resolution Center
Hello everyone, I am looking for some advice or shared experiences regarding a prolonged App Review Board appeal process. I submitted my app earlier this month. On March 3rd, it was rejected under guideline 4.3(b) Spam. On the exact same day (March 3rd), I submitted a detailed appeal to the App Review Board. In my appeal, I provided clear documentation and explanations to prove that the app is not a generic template. I specifically highlighted our proprietary algorithm that calculates a unique total daily energy percentage for users, which distinctly separates it from standard, saturated apps in the market. The issue: It has now been 23 days since I submitted the appeal, and I have not received any response from the Board. My main concern is the lack of visibility. Since appeals to the Board do not appear in the Resolution Center UI, I have no way of knowing if my ticket is actually actively open, in a queue, or if it has been lost due to a system glitch. I recently tried reaching out to general support to verify the ticket's status, but I only received an automated generic response stating that if I have already appealed, I should just wait. My questions for the community: Has anyone else experienced wait times exceeding 3 weeks for a 4.3(b) appeal recently? Is there any workaround to simply verify that an internal appeal ticket is genuinely open and hasn't fallen through the cracks? Any insights or advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Apps stuck in “Waiting for Review” for over a month – never entering “In Review”
Hello, I’m experiencing a very unusual issue with App Store Connect and I’m wondering if anyone else has encountered something similar. For more than a month now, none of my app submissions are progressing past “Waiting for Review.” Normally my apps enter the “In Review” stage within a few days, but since early February this simply doesn’t happen. As a result: • I cannot release bug fixes • I cannot ship updates • I cannot publish new apps I have already tried: • withdrawing and resubmitting the app • submitting multiple updates • requesting an expedite review However, every submission just stays in Waiting for Review indefinitely. This seems to affect all apps in my developer account, not just a specific app. Has anyone experienced something like this recently? Could this be related to an account-level issue or something on Apple’s side? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Working Anti Virus - Apple Developer Account terminated
Hi, I created an anti virus app that worked within the sandbox. It was non commercial essentially a test to find a marketable anti virus app that could work within the sandbox. App store review kept saying it was malicious over and over again then told us our developer account was pending termination. We have a lot of others app that are my only source of income. I managed to work myself out of homelessness by being an App Developer (I've been an app developer since 2009). Now I'm facing it again for innovation. Thanks David

App regularly getting rejected and then approved after appeal
Hi all, my mac app uses the "com.apple.security.temporary-exception.apple-events" entitlement. Originally the process was that one is allowed to use such an entitlement as long as one filed a bug to request a scripting target that would allow one to move away from it. Now, my app has been approved for years with that entitlement, but every 5th time or so I submit an update, my app gets rejected because I allegedly shouldn't use that entitlement. I then ask for clarification, repeating the statement about why i am using it, and then the app gets silently approved. Is there a better way to handle this? It is super annoying that every couple of updates I get this random delay and have to dispute stuff just to get my update through. The note for the entitlement already describes why I am using it, but it seems that some reviewers just ignore it and then, upon me repeating that note, the app gets approved... I would also be fine getting an official statement that Apple doesn't support my use of the entitlement anymore and I could communicate to my customers that this is why the feature will disappear in the app store version, but since my updates eventually get approved, the issue seems to be with the particular reviewer... Any ideas how to fix this? Thank you.

Made for Kids flag stuck — cannot update my app
Dear Apple team, I am a developer who has been unable to update my app "Mon Pain Quotidien" for several months due to a stuck "Made for Kids" flag that I cannot remove. My app is a Bible study platform for all ages — it was never intended for children specifically. The flag was set by mistake. Every submission is rejected with error: Guideline 1.3 - Safety - Kids Category We noticed you selected the Kids Category for your app, but your app does not appear to be designed for kids aged 11 and under. Specifically, we noticed that your app is a educational app, which is not appropriate for use by children. Since apps in the Kids Category should be designed specifically for children, apps submitted to this category must be appropriate for kids aged 11 and under. Next Steps To resolve this issue, please resubmit your app without the Kids category designation. Resources See how to change your app's age rating, including the "Made for Kids" setting, on App Store Connect Help. Learn more about requirements for apps in the Kids Category in App Review Guideline 1.3. Support Reply to this message in your preferred language if you need assistance. If you need additional support, use the Contact Us module. Consult with fellow developers and Apple engineers on the Apple Developer Forums. Provide feedback on this message and your review experience by completing a short survey. I have: Tried removing the flag via App Store Connect (option not visible) Contacted App Review support (no response) Filed multiple appeals through the Resolution Center (acknowledged but never resolved) I simply need the "Made for Kids" designation removed from my app so I can submit updates. My users are waiting for important fixes. Thank you for your help.

Guideline 4.3(b) Spam rejection again and again – need help from App Review experts
My iOS app is getting repeatedly rejected under Guideline 4.3(b) Spam. Apple says the app is astrology / horoscope category, but the app is actually a B2B partner dashboard for verified consultants and contains no horoscope content. We already: Removed astrology keywords Renamed the app Changed metadata Restricted login Removed China region Explained multiple times to App Review Still getting same rejection again and again. Has anyone successfully resolved 4.3(b) spam rejection for astrology / consultation / marketplace apps? What exact change finally worked? Should we appeal? Request call? Change bundle? New app? Different category? Need expert advice urgently.

App review rejection due to accessibility
Hi, and apologies for a long post! We have created an app that enables wireless communication with FIDO2 devices over Bluetooth by creating virtual HID devices and translating the packages. In order to do this, we use the HIDVirtualDevice class as described here: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/corehid/creatingvirtualdevices We learned the hard way that this sample code does not work without the “com.apple.developer.hid.virtual.device“ entitlement, but with it, it behaves as expected. Now, our application has been rejected during Review, both by the initial App Review and the appeal to the App Review Board. The problem is that I can’t really figure out what the issue is. The first rejection states the following: The app requests access to Accessibility features on macOS but does not use these features for accessibility purposes. Specifically, the app uses Accessibility features for non-accessibility feature. (Please see attached screenshot) The attached screenshot is of the screen the app shows when requesting permissions, with this code: else if bluetoothManager.requirePermissions { GradientTitle(text: "PERMISSIONS \nNEEDED") Text( """ This application requires additional permissions to run. Open the settings menu to allow access before restarting the application. """ ) and a button with this action: if let url = URL( string:"x-apple.systempreferences:com.apple.preference.security?Privacy_Accessibility" ) { NSWorkspace.shared.open(url) } The requirePermissions boolean is set from here, let properties = HIDVirtualDevice.Properties( descriptor: VirtualDevice.fidoDescriptor, vendorID: VirtualDevice.vendorId ) if HIDVirtualDevice(properties: properties) != nil { await MainActor.run { self.requirePermissions = false } break } else { await MainActor.run { self.requirePermissions = true } When HIDVirtualDevice(properties: properties) is called, a system pop-up with App would like to control this computer using accessibility features. Grant access to this application in Security and Privacy preferences located in System Preferences. shows. I responded to the rejection by trying to argue that allowing you to use your device wirelessly does increase accessibility, and that this is the only purpose of the app. Their response was: Regarding 2.4.5, Accessibility usage. To resolve this issue, it would be appropriate to remove Accessibility usage for non-accessibility purposes. Should you require more assistance with resolving this issue, Apple Developer Technical Support is available to provide direct one-on-one support for discrete code-level questions. Please be sure to include any crash logs, screenshots or steps to reproduce this issue in your request. I contacted technical support and tried to explain the issue again, and got the following response: Guideline 2.4.5 - Performance The app requests access to Accessibility features on macOS but does not use these features for accessibility purposes. Specifically, the app uses Accessibility features for non-accessibility feature. Accessibility features are intended to help users with different capabilities interact with their devices and app. Apps may not use features designed to increase accessibility for other purposes. We understand that the reason for using Accessibility feature on macOS. However, the usage is not compliant with the provided guideline. The last sentence is not complete, and it’s hard to understand what the issue is, given that they have not actually responded to my arguments. My best guess right now is point 2.4.5 (v): 2.4.5 Apps distributed via the Mac App Store have some additional requirements to keep in mind: (v) They may not request escalation to root privileges or use setuid attributes. If this is the case, I can understand the rejection, although it’s strange they didn’t just say so then. If that is correct, given that the system pop-up and accessibility requirement also trigger when running their sample code (which creates a virtual keyboard), does that mean that no one using this class and framework can submit apps to the App Store? I never intended to use an accessibility framework, and I was quite surprised the first time the pop-up appeared. RIght now I'm just confused and dissapointed with the level of feedback from Apple, and would appreciate any help, either in providing a solution or just explaining what the specific issue is.

Title: Clipboard manager rejected under Guideline 2.4.5 for using CGEvent.post — what is the correct approach?
I'm developing a sandboxed clipboard history manager for macOS. When a user selects an item from their clipboard history, the app: Writes the data to NSPasteboard.general Posts a ⌘V keystroke via CGEvent.post(tap: .cgSessionEventTap) This requires the user to grant permission under System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility (kTCCServicePostEvent). The app does not use any Accessibility framework APIs (AXUIElement, AXIsProcessTrusted, etc.) — only Core Graphics event posting. The app has been rejected twice under Guideline 2.4.5, with the reviewer stating that Accessibility features should not be used for non-accessibility purposes. My understanding is that kTCCServicePostEvent (used by CGEvent.post) is a separate TCC service from kTCCServiceAccessibility (used by AXUIElement APIs), but both appear under "Accessibility" in System Settings, which may be causing confusion. My questions: Is there an approved way for a sandboxed Mac App Store app to simulate a keystroke (specifically ⌘V) after writing to the pasteboard? If CGEvent.post is not appropriate for App Store apps, what alternative API should clipboard managers use to provide a "paste" action? Is there a way to use CGEvent.post that is compliant with Guideline 2.4.5? I have a minimal sample project (single Swift file, sandboxed) that demonstrates the behavior. I can share it if helpful. I was referred here by DTS (Case-ID: 19088416).

3.2(f) triggered — account pending termination despite repeated attempts to comply
Hi all, Looking for some clarity.. I have an app (Pocket Love: AI Roleplay Chat, Apple ID: 6745031268) that went through a long review process with many resubmissions. The feedback I received across those reviews was often generic “overtly sexual”) message, but without any detail on exactly what needed to change. Because of that, I approached it iteratively making adjustments each time based on what I thought the issue might be. Over time I made quite significant changes across the app (imagery, unlockable content, voice-overs, menus, copy, etc.), and increased the age rating to 18+. I also had a call with a policy eexpert & App Review. In the final interaction, I was asked to ensure all unlockable content was visible, so I re-uploaded a build and provided screenshots with everything pre-unlocked for transparency. Despite this, my account has now been flagged under 3.2(f) for “dishonest or fraudulent activity,” and is pending termination. What I’m struggling to understand is: Can repeated resubmissions / iterative changes alone be interpreted as “evasion” under 3.2(f)? Or does this typically mean App Review believes there was something intentionally misleading? From my perspective, I was trying to respond to feedback and get the app into a compliant state, not bypass review or hide anything. The game does have "sexy" imagery lingerie etc..and adult themes but 0 nudity and is tamer than similar games live on the app store. Would really appreciate any insight from others who’ve experienced similar, or from anyone familiar with how this is interpreted internally. I can't believe my account is pending termination without any intentional wrongdoing, I currently have 3 other live games one with strong revenue, that will be removed too due to this. My initial appeal was rejected today. Thanks!

Your first subscription must be submitted with a new app version
I have been submitting the app multiple times and I keep getting rejected for: Guideline 2.1 - Performance - App Completeness Specifically, the in-app purchase is not available and the app is unresponsive when we tap the Upgrade button. I feel like I am stuck in a circle since it is showing me the pricing is unavailalbe on my subscription page. I have checked and it is wired correctly and works in the google play store. The issue is that my subriptions are not approved yet. But I can't get my subscriptions approved without the app being approved for the first time. So the Upgrade button cannot work, since the subscriptions are not approved, and they can't be approved without the app being approved. I can't test it in the sandbox, since the application is not approved. Anyone know what to do with this issue?

Apple App Reviewer Apple Sign In Help
Hi all, Submitted first ever app for review to app store and got rejected. My app isn't live and I have demo accounts too which they seemed to use. For context my app is free on launch, no in app transactions, and it is a marriage app. What I did not account for is them going through apple sign in and right now I have no way to catch that so that account doesn't mix with real users. I've thought about adding a tap feature and disclosing it, so they tap something x times and it is marked as reviewer account, but that violates guideline 2.3.1. Also thought about adding just visible text for reviewers, but then real users would see that too so its a no go. Asked Claude and it says to try Sandbox Receipt Detection, which should work for a free app, but I'm not sure and would rather ask then implement, submit and find out it doesn't work. Appreciate any help y'all can give me! Thanks!

Has anyone had their app approved after a long review delay?
Hello, I submitted my app on February 24, and it is still showing as "Waiting for Review." It has been about a month now, and I am not sure how much longer I should wait. Has anyone experienced such a long delay and still eventually gotten their app approved? I am not sure whether I should continue waiting or cancel the submission and submit it again. It is becoming very exhausting to keep waiting without any clear information. Thank you.

Thank you.
