Reply to How safe is the shared container for an App Group?
I'm not sure I fully understand your question but I believe that the following will help: A keychains group is to the standard keychain as an app group container is to the standard app container. That is, the only difference between group vs standard, security-wise, is that multiple apps from the your team have access to the group.Share and Enjoy — Quinn The Eskimo! It's not possible yet to animate WKInterfaceGroup radius property
Hi guys,This is not really a question. It's a suggestion. Animate a WKInterfaceGroup radius property is a necessary feature. For example, if I have a rounded Grouped Button and I want to increase its size with an animation when I touch it, is very useful. Also, would be interesting to add a completion block to the method animateWithDuration.Maybe in the next watchOs Beta 😟Greetings 🙂.

Set / animate the position of a WKInterfaceGroup
I've been programming for a few years but I'm new to the Apple development environment. Just started a two weeks ago!I'm writing some software with watchOS 2.0, and I'm curious if anyone has come up with an algorithm or workflow to animate the position of a WKInterfaceGroup. I know that you can animate a group's Width and Height, therefore we have the ability to push other objects back and forth. However, this style of animation is quite unconventional. Also, this is a semi-related bullet point but has anyone found a good way to make a virtual Z-index? I use groups stacked inside of each other (height and width is set to Relative) to emulate a recursive set of transparent layers. This only works with the Background Image, to my knowledge.I apologize if the post appears to contain two questions but answering one may eliminate the need for answering the other. I appreciate the feedback!

Reply to Lot of NSURLSession errors when downloading too much files
Hi Quinn,I've read through this thread and the one you linked to here (https://devforums.apple.com/message/938057#938057) and I have a question about best practices to download 10,000-20,000 files via NSURLSessionDownloadTasks. (Disclaimer, i'm using AFNetworking 2.x). I'm targeting iOS 8 and newer, so answers do not have to work on iOS 7.How can we compute a reasonable batch (group) size ? I understand the resume-rate limiter means one wants the batch size to be higher, but there's an unknown max limit of simultaneous task requests that will crash the daemon. If there's an algorithm that'd be great, otherwise even just a good constant would suffice 😉thanks for your help!-tim

Xcode 7 Beta 4 - Crashing - searchd quit unexpectedly
Following on from Beta 3, Xcode continues to generate a Problem Report window when Xcode is launched, and when building and running to the simulator. The simulator often DOES continue to work, but sometimes not. The behaviour is quite variable. The Problem Report window usually provides info on error entitled searchd quit unexpectedly. I have to leave the error window open, so that multiple windows aren't spawned, one after the other. The crashing occurs regardless of project. The Mac has been restarted, and Xcode relaunched, but the behaviour continues. The behaviour of the simulator itself is sporadic: sometimes apps will get past the Launch Screen, other times not (effectively hanging at the Launch Screen.) Xcode will also crash and quit on demand, repeatably, when using the Capture View Hierarchy command when using the Simulator. I'll post the logs if you want them.Process: searchd [1064]Path: /Applications/Xcode-beta.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator.s

With Split View, how can I talk to the parent app from its extension?
Here's the scenario: someone has my app open on their iPad Air 2. They open another app in Split View, say Safari. Then they activate my app's extension to share some content with my app. They wait for that content to appear in my app.Normally I would use App Groups, save the data to a shared location, and check for it when the parent app activates. But in this scenario the app doesn't activate when the user returns to it—it was active the whole time. So unless I constantly check for new data it won't appear immediately in the parent app. What's the best way to solve this? Is there a notification I can subscribe to? Maybe something that would fire when an NSUserDefault changes? Or do I need to use something like MMWormhole? https://github.com/mutualmobile/MMWormhole

Apps may display and recommend apps other than your own only if the collection is designed for a specific approved need
Hello,My app was rejected because of this reason:2.26 - Apps may display and recommend apps other than your own only if the collection is designed for a specific approved need (e.g. health management, aviation, accessibility, etc.) or provides significant added value for a specific group of customers, or they will be rejectedI saw you listed some examples of allowed categories: (e.g. health management, aviation, accessibility, etc.)Where can I find the full list of categories?

XCTestCase in UITesting: containerURLForSecurityApplicationGroupIdentifier returns nil
Hi,I am trying to write some UI Tests in which I want to check something in the shared App Groups container. But when I run[[NSFileManager defaultManager] containerURLForSecurityApplicationGroupIdentifier:@group.com.zaal.cjournalTestGroup]it returns nil.The target app works perfectly fine, and the containerURLForSecurityApplicationGroupIdentifier works there. Do I need to setup something in the UI Testing bundle to get it to work as well? I don't see any place in the project configuration where the UI Testing bundle can get permissions for a shared App Group container. I was assuming it would pick up the settings from the target app and just work.

Reply to Do all functions return tuples?
Parentheses around a single type are valid grouping tokens, e.g. in `(1 + 2) + 3`. This is why `let x: (foo: Int) = 5` is not valid, and `let x: (Int) = 5; x.0` is also invalid. It is also why `let x = (5)` is inferred to be of type Int, rather than (Int). From The Swift Programming Language -> Language Reference -> Types: If there is only one element inside the parentheses, the type is simply the type of that element. For example, the type of (Int) is Int, not (Int). As a result, you can name a tuple element only when the tuple type has two or more elements.Generally speaking, the type system understands the notion of a single-element tuple only as an implementation detail in the parser, but it is not reflected in compiled code. E.g. the dynamicType of (Int) and Int is Int.Type, not (Int).Type. The reason you see (Int) in Xcode's quick help is because quick help relies on the parsed rather than compiled metadata to display types. You'll also see this happen in syntax error messages.

Reply to Unable to boot the iOS simulator
If this helps you to get your simulators back, good, because it fixed my situation. Executive summary is that my ~/LibraryApplications Support folder needed to be cleaned up by removing the iPhone Simulator folder. Then all simulators worked, again. My method below to figure this out is to make sure it was not because of one version of OS X or one version of Xcode, since always there are many. TL;DR to follow.First off, release notes say Xcode 7 only runs iOS 9 simulators, so that should be the expectation on either 10.10 or 10.11. Also, the Preferences > Downloads panel shows that other simulators may be installed, but I have seen a radar referenced on that issue; try as you might they cannot be installed. So right away, I used Xcode 7 for testing XCTest UI test features, primarily, under what I had which was a 10.10.4 machine. but, I could run on any device in 10.10.3 or 10.10.4.I needed to resolve what I had done with all these installs, so I went back to running Xcode 6.4 on my 10.10.4 machine
