The Apple documentation for [UIViewController willMoveToParentViewController:] states, Called just before the view controller is added or removed from a container view controller. Hence, the view controller being popped should appear at the top of the navStack when willMoveToParentViewController: is called. In iPadOS 16 and 17 the view controller being popped appears at the top of the navStack when willMoveToParentViewController: is called. In iPadOS 18 the view controller being popped has already been (incorrectly) removed from the navStack. We confirmed this bug using iPadOS 18.2 as well as 18.0. Our app relies upon the contents of the navStack within willMoveToParentViewController: to track the user's location within a folder hierarchy. Our app works smoothly on iPadOS 16 and 17. Conversely, our customers running iPadOS 18 have lost client data and corrupted their data folders as a result of this bug! These customers are angry -- not surprisingly, some have aske

I implemented AppTrackingTransparency framework but Apple is rejecting the review because it seems the request is failing on iPadOS 18.3.1. which seems rare since it is working on all other devices. Has anyone faced the same issue? I have tested this in a physical iPhone with IOS 18.3.1 and in several devices using Xcode runtime simulator including iPad and iPhone in different IOS versions up to 18.2 (which I understand is the latest available in Xcode). The problem is that 18.3.1 runtime simulator is not available yet. Does anyone have more information when it will be available or what to do in these cases?
In my project, I have some images that contains different formats for iPhone and iPad (screenshot example). When trying to access those images with UIImage(named: image_name) it always return nil on iPadOS 13 and iPadOS14, while working fine on iOS, and iPadOS15. It is also working fine for other images Is it a known issue with Xcode ? This bug seems to have started triggering recently has the images have been working fine until the last 2 months. I'm using Xcode 13.3
Dear Apple, I am currently experiencing a major problem. I have 5TB data in my RAID1 external drive (2 disks setup with APFS). I plugged this RAID1 into my iPad Pro using USB-C. The drive was successfully detected by iPadOS (14) and it works. However, after that, my macOS (Catalina) can no longer detect my drive. Both disks became uninitialized and could not be mounted. The data isn't lost, but only iOS can read my drive. I assume that iOS maybe changed some metadata or flags of my drive. Would it be possible to manipulate and restore the original metadata and make it recognizable again by macOS? Without data loss of course. Thanks in advance for any help you're able to provide. Best, Neil ps: I currently using a USB-C dock to transfer all my data to another no-raid hard drive, which works on both macOS and iPadOS. This method is not optimal, because first it may take 2-3 days for 5TB of data, and finally iPadOS's Files App is not that reliable, sometimes it crashes and iPad reboots
I've found old online man pages for macOS and iOS, but they seem pretty out of date compared to what I have on my macOS Ventura system. Is there a place with all of the macOS, iOS, and iPadOS man pages with identical versions as shipped with current versions of the operating systems on the web?
Hi, I'm glad to hear that the service discovery process is improved on iOS/iPadOS 18.2 mentioned here. https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/deployment/dep4d9e9cd26/1/web/1.0 I tried it on my development MDM server. Set default MDM for iPad to my development MDM server on Apple Business Manager. Call the new API https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/account_driven_enrollment_profile and 200 OK is returned However the service discovery fails with the following error. Invalid well-known response for https://{my email's comain name}/.well-known/com.apple.remotemanagement?user-identifier={my email}&model-family=iPad: Invalid well-known response for https://axm-servicediscovery.apple.com/mdmBaseURL?user-identifier={my email}&model-family=iPad: It seems fallback process to https://axm-servicediscovery.apple.com/mdmBaseURL actually works but it returns 404 Not Found error. How can we use this awesome feature? Thank you :)

The Paste button (using UIPasteControll) located on UINavigationBar is not shown at application startup on iOS/iPadOS 26. This issue will disappear when device is rotated or window size is changed. And this issue does not occur on iOS / iPadOS 18 and earlier. I uploaded the sample project to github at the following URL. https://github.com/gpn-galapagos/PasteButtonApp.git Has anyone had the same issue or knows a workaround?
The issue I reported has been fixed with the following update. Thank you! https://developer.apple.com/documentation/ios-ipados-release-notes/ios-ipados-26_3-release-notes#StoreKit

Navigation Title no longer showing for first Tab in iOS/iPadOS 26 (Directives) in my app Starship SE Corps when running is Xcode 26 simulator and on iPad device itself running iPadOS 26 beta. Launch app Notice Navigation Title “Directives” is missing from top tab in Sidebar and Floating Tab View (iPad) and TabView (iOS). Navigate to other tabs and Navigation Titles appear as expected. Worked fine (as expected) in iOS/iPadOS 18.5, but broken in iOS/iPadOS 26. Reference Feedback: FB17987650
Currently the documentation has an important callout about this error: Calling the attestKey(_:clientDataHash:completionHandler:) method returns the unknownSystemFailure error. Hi, My app makes quite heavy use of onHover to do custom mouse over events. These were working perfectly in iPadOS 13.4 but no longer in iPadOS 14.0. This is the sort of code that I’m using. struct ContentView: View { @State private var hoverActive = false var body: some View { ZStack { Rectangle() .foregroundColor(.red) Rectangle() .scaleEffect(hoverActive ? 2.0 : 1.0) .animation(.easeInOut) .foregroundColor(.blue) .frame(width: 50, height: 50, alignment: .center) .position(x: 100, y: 100) .onHover(perform: { hovering in hoverActive = hovering }) .onTapGesture { print(Tapped) } } } } Running this on an iPad with MagicKeyboard and iPadOS 13.4 results in the blue Rectangle scaling up whenever the mouse pointer is over the view and back down whenever the mouse pointer moves away. The “Tapped” message is played each time the trackpad is clicked with the pointer on the blue Rectangle. With iPadOS 14 the behaviour is very different. The blue Rectangle scales up when the mouse is
Hi. Yes, I'm sorry about that. Thank you for still looking into this. I should have added that my follow up question was about iPadOS. Can DriveKit be used on iPadOS to communicate with a non-MFi certified third party CCID reader? I did some research and found out that only USBDriverKit is available on iPadOS and it needs an entitlement from Apple to develop drivers with it. Is USBDriverKit the correct driver kit to use here or is something more complex like SerialDriverKit more appropriate (but also not available on iPadOS). Sorry again about the confusion! And thank you for your help!

Ah, yes, sorry about that. That was a mix up on our part. The request is for you to: Enable additional logging by installing the following profiles: Wi-Fi for iOS/iPadOS VPN (Network Extension) for iOS/iPadOS FaceTime for iOS/iPadOS You can find all of these on our Bug Reporting > Profiles and Logs page. Reproduce the problem. Trigger a sysdiagnose log (see the Sysdiagnose for iOS/iPadOS instructions). Attach that to your bug report. I am running iPadOS 17 beta2 and experiencing an issue with the integration between a third-party app and the Health app. Specifically, I have noticed that the isHealthDataAvailable() method in HealthKit is returning false. Additional Information: ・Device: iPad (6th generation) running iPadOS 17 beta2. ・Xcode: ver14.2.0 Expected Outcome: ・I expect the isHealthDataAvailable() method in HealthKit to return true. This would allow the third-party app to integrate with the Health app. Additional Details: ・The third-party app successfully integrates with the Health app on iOS 17 beta2. ・The issue occurs regardless of whether the Health app is installed or uninstalled. I would greatly appreciate any advice or solutions regarding this issue. Thank you for your assistance.
