Reply to Assert error breaking previews
Hi, Sorry to hear you are occasionally having problems with foundation models and previews working. The best next step will be to file a feedback with diagnostics the next time you hit this so we can take a look. Install the logging profile using instructions available here: https://developer.apple.com/bug-reporting/profiles-and-logs/?name=swift On your mac running Xcode, and on your physical preview device (if you are using one). Install the logging profile using the following instructions on your mac running Xcode; and if you are using one, your physical preview device (iOS or visionOS): https://developer.apple.com/bug-reporting/profiles-and-logs/?name=swift Then when you reproduce the problem in Xcode: Either (a) an error banner will appear, click the Diagnostics button in that banner; or (b) if you're not seeing an error but you still want to provide diagnostics you can get the same diagnostics window by going under the Editor menu in the menu bar, then selecting the Canvas submenu, then selectin
is it acceptable that I use my own glass system instead …?
I don’t think you’ll get a detailed answer to that. When folks ask questions about what is or isn’t acceptable, I can only really point them at the challenge rules, and specifically: Developer > Swift Student Challenge > Eligibility and requirements Developer > Swift Student Challenge > Terms and Conditions
Also, I am not able to make portrait mode be locked when tested on iPad, is there any method to lock it in SP?
I recommend that you start a new thread with that specific question. Put it in the UI Frameworks subtopic that’s most appropriate for the UI framework you’re using, and tag it with Swift Student Challenge. Reply to Whimsical tooltips behaviour in popover (Appkit)
There is however a problem with this solution. If there is a TextField in the popover, typing in makes it firstResponder ; and the parent window controller do not receive mouseEnter events that triggers the tooltips. Which means I do not need to simulate mouseDown but just makeFirstResponder. So at the end, the question boils down to: how to manage the conflict between popover and its parent window about FirstResponder. Is it possible to have first and second responder, I mean forwarding the mouse messages to the parent ? Considering that The shared NSApplication object performs the important task of receiving events from the window server and distributing them to the proper NSResponder objects. NSApp translates an event into an NSEvent object, then forwards the event object to the affected NSWindow object. All keyboard and mouse events go directly to the NSWindow object associated with the event. … When a window object receives an NSEvent object from NSApp, it distributes it to the objects in its vi

App Review cannot complete auto-renewable subscription purchase (Guideline 2.1) although sandbox & TestFlight work
Hello, I’m experiencing repeated rejections related to Guideline 2.1 – App Completeness for an iOS app using auto-renewable subscriptions, and I’m struggling to understand what is missing, as the purchase flow works correctly in sandbox and TestFlight. App setup: iOS app built with React Native (Expo + react-native-iap) Auto-renewable subscriptions: • Monthly: €4.99 • Yearly: €39.99 Paid Apps Agreement accepted Subscriptions configured and active in App Store Connect Privacy Policy and Apple Standard EULA included: • Visible inside the app on the subscription screen • Added in App Store metadata What App Review reports: App Review states they are unable to buy the in-app purchase, resulting in a rejection under Guideline 2.1 (App Completeness). What works correctly: getSubscriptions() returns valid products in sandbox Subscription titles, prices, and durations are displayed in the app UI requestSubscription() is triggered when tapping the subscribe button Apple purchase sheet appear

Reply to Launchscreen issues on iPadOS 26
I can confirm there is something crashing my Apps that only have Launchscreen storyboards. I use Autoresizing and not Autolayout. And guys please, make a real effort to build a Launchscreen component in SwiftUI. It makes no sense in 2026, always ten years after and we still have a storyboard file messing/crashing our Apps in Swift.

PKPassLibrary returning empty array in Non-UI Wallet Extension
Hello, We are implementing Apple Wallet extensions (PKIssuerProvisioningExtensionHandler). While our UI extension works as expected, our Non-UI extension is unable to detect payment passes provisioned by our app. Specifically, PKPassLibrary().passes(of: .secureElement) returns an empty array when called from the Non-UI extension, even though the same call correctly returns the passes when executed from the Main iOS App. Our Payment Network Operator has confirmed that our extension bundle identifiers are correctly registered in the metadata on their side. They suggested that the Wallet Extensions entitlement (com.apple.developer.payment-pass-provisioning) may require additional backend enablement for these specific Extension App IDs. Is there a known reason why PKPassLibrary would behave differently in the Non-UI extension vs the Main App? Beyond the standard entitlement request, is there a specific process to activate these IDs for extension visibility? Does anyone have guidance on reaching the appro

iOS App Review: Guidelines 5.1.1(i) - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and 5.1.2(i) - Legal - Privacy - Data Use
Our app (Tenkobo) received a rejection notice after review due to the fact that we use Gemini AI since 3 builds ago. Since then, we have been improving the disclosure of the data we collect, explicitly stating all the data, introducing a new feature that checks granular consent and syncs consent state for the user to the backend, and controls for whether to send to the Gemini API service for that feature depending on consent state for the user. Moreover, this feature is a premium add-on to a module that already does most things locally on the device and sends to our cloud infrastructure to allow storage and sync when users use multiple devices. It is a multi-platform app. However, despite every improvement, we keep getting the same Rejection reason that ... Review Device: iPad Air 11-inch (M3) ... The issues we previously identified still need your attention. Assert error breaking previews
A foundation models bug I keep running into when in the preview phase of the testing. The error never seems to occur or break the app when I am testing on the simulator or on a device but sometimes I am running into this error when in a longer session while being in preview. The error breaks the preview and crashes it and the waring on it is labeled as : Assert in LanguageModelFeedback.swift This is something I keep running into, where I have been using foundation models for my project

Reply to Multicast Entitlement now not working
What Albert said plus… Some managed capabilities are granted to a specific App ID, while others are granted to your team as a whole. My experience is that the Multicast Networking capability is always granted to your team, so you can use it in any app from that team. And, presuming that you’re working in Team ID H________3, our records show no sign of it deviating from this standard practice.
now multicast entitlement is no longer provisioned.
What do you mean by that? Is Xcode failing to build your app? Or are is your app failing to send or receive multicasts? If it’s the later, be aware that the vast majority of such problems are not tied to the Multicast Networking capability, but rather are caused by code-level problems. I have a bunch of advice about that in Extra-ordinary Networking > Broadcasts and Multicasts, Hints and Tips. Reply to notarization stuck in progress > 24hrs
You can expect that most uploads will be notarised quickly. Occasionally, some uploads are held for in-depth analysis and may take longer to complete. As you notarise your apps, the system will learn how to recognise them, and you should see fewer delays. For lots of additional info about notarisation, see Notarisation Resources. Specifically, it links to a Q&A with the notary service team that’s quite instructive.
