Reply to Refund In-App-Purchases
I had an issue with an app charging 2 or more times for an in-app purchase. I report a problem to Apple and they just tell me to get lost, no refund. I made a claim with the app developer and they say only apple can control purchases. BUT my question is IF the initial request to make an in-app purchase comes from the app then if there is a bug or malfunction with the app the Developer should take some accountability for the wrongful charge$? So the customer is totally ripped off. I can go to the card issuer/bank and report a fraudulent charge but that is a long process and could get that account blacklisted from the app store.

Reply to Scrolling with Apple Pencil does not work in 9.3.
Download 9.3 last evening (the 13th). Pencil no longer swiping for me, either. Bummer. Hope it's a bug and not a feature. Although it would save wear and tear on the tips, I suppose. :/ Sure slows me down in any case. And when I'm leaning back in a chair, for example, that extra extension of the Pencil made it far more convenient to scroll through Safari pages, etc.

Reply to How to add textures to rendered ink?
The rendering engine of PencilKit only supports the built-in inks (pencil, pen, marker). However since PKDrawing exposes access to the underlying stroke and point data, it is possible to build a custom rendering engine that draws strokes using any style or texture, using Metal or other rendering technologies. For details, check out the Inspect, modify, and construct PencilKit drawings - https://developer.apple.com/wwdc20/10148 session.

Charged for Renewals Despite Being Under Review for 13 Months
Hello everyone. I'm hoping to get some guidance on a unique and difficult situation we've been facing for over a year. Our app was approved and had been live on the App Store for some time. However, 13 months ago, our developer account enrollment was revoked. Since then, our app has remained live on the App Store, but we've been unable to make any updates, fix bugs, or respond to user feedback. We've been trying to resolve this with Apple for over a year, sending countless emails and making numerous phone calls, but we've had no luck getting through to anyone who can help. To make matters even more confusing, we were recently charged for our annual developer program renewal, despite being unable to use the service. This renewal charge has left us in an unclear position. We were starting to lose hope that this issue could ever be resolved, but this recent charge has made us wonder if there's still a chance. We are seeking advice on whether we should continue to hold out hope

Reply to Unexpected Behavior: PointerEvents do not permit simultaneous pencil and multitouch at the same time. Discussing Workarounds
NOTE: I read the spec: https://www.w3.org/TR/pointerevents3/#the-primary-pointer Some devices, operating systems and user agents may ignore the concurrent use of more than one type of pointer input to avoid accidental interactions. For instance, devices that support both touch and pen interactions may ignore touch inputs while the pen is actively being used, to allow users to rest their hand on the touchscreen while using the pen (a feature commonly referred to as palm rejection). Currently, it is not possible for authors to suppress this behavior. Since the iPad can handle simultaneous touch-types natively, I don't see why the web version cannot. Please lift this restriction/think about a way to lift it.

Charging the iPad Air via the Smart Connector
I'm planning on making a jig to hold and charge an iPad. Specifically, it will hold it in the landscape orientation, and charge it via the smart connector. Where can I find the electrical specification for the smart connector? The specific questions I'm trying to answer are:What voltage(s) and current(s) do I need to provide? (Secondarily, does it negotiate for higher currents like the USB standard?)What is the communication interface? As it's only 3 pins total, I'm thinking it's either a bidirectional communication via 1 pin, or it's modulated somehow to reuse pins. What is the required magnetic setup (polarities, strengths) to align the iPad to the Smart Connector?

Reply to IOS 14.5 Charging problem
I updated to ios14.5.1, my finger tips were slightly damp from washing my hands (thank you Covid19), my phone indicated that charging will be disabled for a few hours, I hit override. Charged the phone. Till this day it refused to charge via Lightening connector attached to the official Apple 20w brick, I used an old charger from my iPhone 7, it’s not even being recognized, I can’t connect to a laptop with iTunes to download grade the software. I did a soft and hard reset, I went into general and reset all phone settings, nothing works. I can only charge via slow wireless charger… what’s the pointing in investing in Apple and marketing their brand value to others when you the enthusiast is let down for something as simple as this? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

iPhone refuse to charge after iOS 14 update
iOS Version: 14.0 Model: iPhone 8 I met this problem after update to iOS 14. Last night when I came home from work, my phone was low so I plugged it in and went out for food. After having dinner, I pick up my phone to check for messages and realized that it was dead. I plugged in again and left it charging. After a while, it still stood at 3% without charging anything. I tried to change it to another cable (I have 3 cable at home bc I have an Airpod as well) but nothing happened !! The phone was then dead but after that, it began to charge!! However, it seems that my phone can now only charged AFTER it is turned off. Whenever it was on, it refused to charge. This is very weird... Are there anyone have my same issue and found a fix, please advised me what to do.. I didn't want to throw my phone to a repair shop bc this is the only phone I got to communicate so only if it's the last choice, I would have to:(

Reply to So, what's up with a new 9.1 beta already? Anyone know what that's about??
It's because the new capabilities of the hardware announced yesterday (the iPad Pro, and the 6S and 6S+) requires a updated operating system to take advantage of them. iOS 9.1 adds support for Live Photos, the Apple Pencil, and 3D Touch APIs as well as the iPad Pro's dual app capabilities.
