Reply to What to do when another developer uses your App's name?
You posted a similar message one year ago. Did you contact Developers support at Apple to clarify ? Was the issus solved last year ? Contact Us category should be Notify a problem with App name subcategory. You should also explain the situation on your web page and on the app information on the appstore, warning customers to be cautious. What I don't understand: As a result, I continually am getting support emails from people purchasing this copycat app. How is it ? The copycat cannot have indicated your email !

Repeated Rejections Under Guideline 4.1 “Copycats” – No Specific Feedback from App Review
Our app ХАЙП ИГРЫ (HYPE GAMES) keeps getting rejected under Guideline 4.1 – Copycats, but we’re not receiving any specific feedback or examples of what exactly is being flagged. We’ve fully rebuilt the app multiple times: All content is now original (graphics, UI, icons, name, etc.) The app does not refer to or imitate any existing brand or app The same version was already approved on Google Play We've removed anything that could even theoretically be misinterpreted as copycat content However, App Review continues to send the same generic message saying the app “appears to misrepresent itself,” without pointing to any concrete element, screenshot, or example. We’ve explicitly asked for clarification or even a single screenshot of the issue, but the replies remain copy-pasted and non-informative. Has anyone else faced this issue? What can be done if App Review won’t identify what’s wrong? We genuinely want to comply and are ready to fix any real problem, but right now we are just guessing — a

4. 1 Design: Copycats
I have submitted my app 5 times now :|. Finally got it to the last (hopefully) rejection issue. This one I don't know how to fix though. It's saying there isn't valid proof of authorization for this app even though I am the web designer and am working along side the CEO of the company to have it published. Here is the Binary Rejection: Your app or its metadata appears to still contain potentially misleading content. Specifically, your app includes content that resembles KlosetSlayer without the necessary authorization. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Design: Copycats ? but i have permission from the representative?
Hello,My app just got rejected because the app icon resembelled a personality for whom i am making this application. This is extremely frustuating, i have permission to do that. I asked in the review what documents they want to see to confirm that i have permission from that personality they sent me here with a generic message. From Apple4. 1 Design: CopycatsWe are not able to provide feedback on app concepts or features, but we recommend evaluating your suggestions against the App Store Review Guidelines, as well as the iOS Developer Program License Agreement (PLA), and the iOS Human Interface Guidelines.Additionally, if you are considering implementing any of the following functionality, we recommend reviewing all associated reference material and other resources available on Apple Developer for any additional requirements.- Apple Developer- Apple Copyright and Trademark Guidelines- Game Center- iCloud- In-App PurchaseYou may also choose to post a question in the Apple Developer Forums.Best regards,App Store

Guideline 4.1 - Design - Copycats
Hello, My game was rejected for the reasons mentioned below. However, I am unable to identify or understand the exact issue. I would like to share all the documents and information I have here, hoping that this will help identify what is wrong or what is actually correct. The story, gameplay, level design, and all the coding of my game are completely original and created by me. Additionally, any third-party assets I’ve used are fully licensed and invoiced. For example, if I’ve used a model that I didn't design myself, I purchased it and modified it to fit my original design. I have all the documentation to prove this. The name of my game is James War and it is currently published on Google Play under my own name. James is the name of the main character in the game. Since the game is based on a psychological and philosophical novel-style concept, it represents a metaphorical “war” within James' own identity – a psychological battle, so to speak. I submitted the same promotional materials to the App Store as I

Rejected for Guideline 4.1(c) Copycats - Accused of copying my own brand
Hello everyone, I am seeking some guidance on how to break out of what appears to be an automated App Review rejection loop. My app has been rejected three times in a row for the exact same reason, and my replies in the Resolution Center seem to be getting ignored. The Issue: My app is named Linkwise (associated with my web platform, linkwise.app). I am being rejected under Guideline 4.1(c) - Design - Copycats. The rejection message specifically states: The app's icon and name contain an icon, brand, or product name that belongs to the following developer: Linkwise. The bizarre part is that I am the developer of Linkwise. I am being accused of impersonating my own brand and product. Submission Details: App Name: Linkwise Submission ID: fa557f1b-3724-4e01-aa85-bf05ced4801f Version: 1.0.1 Review Device: iPhone 17 Pro Max What I've Tried: I have replied to the rejection message in App Store Connect three times explaining that I am the owner of the Linkwise brand and domain. Despite this, I keep receivin

How do I provide developer documentation (4.1 - Copycats)
My application does not compete with the developer. It’s an extension which sits on top of their website. Its only use is to work with their website. Without using their name, the extension does not make any sense. The developer not only has no issue with it - some of their own employees use the extension. To get documentation from developer, that’s easy. However, two questions: Developer wants to know what needs to be provided? An email, A statement? How / what format would be required they are asking? How does such above documentation get submitted / included in subsequent updates to Not hinder approval? The app went through 8 positive reviews / approvals and then all of a sudden this happened out of no where. So not understanding what changed on Apples side and how/what is sufficient documentation (email, statement, PDF, ????) from developer? thanks.

Reply to CopyCat Rejection - what documents are required to verify that the app is mine?
I got a response from the App Review Department, they said that the 4.1 copycats issue no longer applies to my app. I guess everything is fine now (for now).

Reply to Guideline 4.1 - Design - Copycats. Submission Rejected
I don't think there is a strict definition of copycat. It is reviewer evaluation that your app has too many similarities with the other app. Have you checked the other app to understand how much you have in common ?

Reply to If I create a successful app that is bringing in considerable revenue, can Apple create a similar app and push me out of business? Apple's Indepenedent Development Clause says they can or am I interpreting it wrong?
While Apple will listen to copycat claims against other devs in the store, it seems like that's exactly what has happened in the past, so yes, I think it's always a possibility.

Reply to Please help me to understand the situation on Copycats problem of app
How is anyone supposed to answer you? We don't know who you are and what your app does. No one has seen it other than Apple App Review. Those people see all apps and should be very skilled at identifying copycat apps. Why should we doubt their judgement?
