Guideline 4.3 -- made from template... but they are not.
I have an app called AB Player, which is a music player that can play back user's iTunes library with speed control and A-B repeat.■ AB Player ... View on App StoreThis app was rejected becasue it violates Guideline 4.3 (Spam).I have appealed to the review board. They decided to maintaint the rejection and they told me that AB-Player app is made on the same template as many of other my apps like eLaws■ eLaws ... View on App StoreeLaws is a (sort of) law dictionary app. Users can download Japanese laws from the government website and browse locally.AB Player and eLaws are completely different apps. They are not made from a same template. They may be made from Xcode's Single view app template but that's all.I explained to them but they didn't change mind. And they didn't disclose the exact reason why they think they are made on the same template.AB Player and eLaws both use Realm Swift database frameworks and Google Mobile Ads framework, as well as UIKit, CoreText etc, but I don't think that's an issue.

Problem with Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam
Hello, My app was rejected because of App Review Guideline 4.3 – Design Spam. The response I received states: “We noticed your app shares similar features, interface design, and functionality with other apps available on the App Store. Apps that duplicate content or functionality from other apps without adding significant value or unique user experiences are considered spam and will not be approved for distribution.” I developed Plinking Platform Rise, a reaction and accuracy game where players control a platform to balance a ball while avoiding obstacles. The game becomes more challenging with each level, and a dark mode adds an exciting element by reducing visibility and requiring greater precision. I’ve tried multiple times to understand the exact reasons for this rejection and made several updates to address potential issues, but all my efforts have been ignored by App Review. None of the changes I implemented led to a resolution. This is the first app I’ve submitted to the App Store, and I devel

App rejected under 4.3(a) “Design – Spam”, need clarification
Hello everyone, My app has been rejected under guideline 4.3(a) – Design – Spam. It is a padel sports-tracking app with: – Bluetooth sensor connection – live session tracking – AI-generated coaching feedback – community feed and notifications – video analysis features The review states that my app “shares a similar binary, metadata and/or concept as other apps with only minor differences”. However, this app is fully custom developed, not generated from any template, and not a reskinned clone. It is part of a larger project including custom hardware sensors and backend. I would like to better understand what exactly triggered the rejection: – Is it the design? – A specific feature? – The metadata / screenshots? – Or similarity detection with another app name or concept? My goal is to comply fully with Apple guidelines and improve the app if needed, but I need more concrete direction to do so. Any guidance from Apple engineers or other developers who have faced 4.3(a) would be appreciated. Tha

App Rejection for Design 4.3 – Need Help!
Hey community, Spent a good two years crafting a multi-protocols VPN app for iOS and Android. Exciting news – the Android version's live on Google Play. However, hit a roadblock with the iOS version; it got the rejection stamp, and we've been trying to sort it out for two weeks now. Sent over four inquiries and even asked for a phone call with the Reviewer, but no luck so far. The rejection reason is Design 4.3, and they're talking about a similar binary, metadata, and concept. We're all ears for suggestions on resolving this and keen on getting our app on the App Store. Any insights or help would be awesome! Cheers, Mo

Seeking Advice on Repeated 4.3(b) Spam Rejection for a Custom Marketplace App
Hi everyone, I'm looking for advice from developers who have successfully navigated Guideline 4.3(b) Spam concerns. I've been building a custom marketplace platform called Goddess Destiny Psychics. The app includes custom advisor onboarding, advisor applications, identity verification, Stripe Connect onboarding, recorded readings, live chat functionality, advisor review workflows, admin moderation tools, automated approval/rejection processes, and a custom advisor evaluation system. My first submission was rejected under 4.3(b). A later submission also included a functionality concern, which I addressed. On my most recent submission, the functionality concern was no longer present, but the app was again rejected under 4.3(b). I've submitted an appeal because I believe the app contains substantial custom functionality and differs significantly from a simple template-based app. Has anyone successfully appealed a 4.3(b) rejection for a marketplace or service-based app? If so,

4.3 Spam issue and Apple isn't answering
Hi,We are developing a dating app and got rejected by the Appstore several times. So I decided to change our business model, marketing, and took out certain functions after having a phone call with apple.I deleted the old bundle, and created a new one.Now I got rejected again for 4.3 Spam issues. However, I deleted the old bundle BEFORE submitting the new one. The bundle is the only one I have in my developer account. All I wanted to have is a fresh start. I tried to clearify that but now Apple isn't responding since 7 days. We noticed that your app provides the same feature set as other apps submitted to the App Store; it simply varies in content or language, which is considered a form of spam. The next submission of this app may require a longer review time, and this app will not be eligible for an expedited review until this issue is resolved.Any idea how long I have to wait for an answer, or is that some kind of unlimited time ban?

Getting rejected with: Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam
Hello everyone, I'm stuck here, i have developed an app, and i keep getting from Apple Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam - We continue to notice that your app shares a similar binary, metadata, and/or concept as apps submitted to the App Store by other developers, with only minor differences. As i was looking around this seems to be so much an issue now for many people and i don't understand why. My app which is approved in Android already it have an unique design built my own, and the most important the content (in this case futures crypto signals) are created by my own strategy, so it can be no where else found. I literally have no idea what to do next, i don't want to do major changes because i don't believe the app looks similar to any other app and for the reason that its already in Google Play Store i don't want to do major UI design. We would greatly appreciate any valuable advice from fellow developers in the community to help us navigate this challenge and successfully pass the review

App Review 4.3(a) Design Spam Rejection
Hey Apple Developer Community, We have been on the app store for 7 years now. Our latest app submission was rejected under Guideline 4.3(a) app shares similarities in binary, metadata, and concept with apps submitted by other developers, with only minor differences. Even after multiple reviews, the reason for rejection is the same. We still found that your app shares a similar binary, metadata, and concept as apps submitted to the App Store by other developers, with only minor differences. Since we do not accept spam apps on the App Store, we encourage you to review your app concept and submit a unique app with distinct content and functionality. Our app has been developed in-house and we own the entire source code. And Apple won't tell us which app this is similar to. Do they expect us to discover that? We have already filed an appeal with the App Board. Has anyone been in a similar situation? What's the best way to resolve this? Any support here will be much appreciated.

Guideline 4.3(a) Appeal – No Response After 12 Days
Hello everyone, I’m looking for advice from developers who have been through a Guideline 4.3(a) (Design – Spam) rejection. Our game was rejected under Guideline 4.3(a). We genuinely believe it is an original Unity project that we developed from scratch. Instead of immediately submitting a new build, we replied through the Resolution Center with extensive supporting documentation, including: Figma design history Unity project structure Development timeline Original UI/UX workflow Comparisons explaining how our game differs from similar titles We also submitted a formal appeal to the App Review Board and later sent a polite follow-up message. It has now been 12 days since our last message, and we still haven’t received any response from Apple. I’m not asking whether our rejection was correct or incorrect. I’m simply trying to understand the review process. For developers who have experienced this: Is waiting 10–14+ days after submitting evidence normal? Did Apple eventually respond? Did they c

4.3 Spam after re-creating the app from scratch
Hello everyone, After eight months of development, we’ve reached a roadblock and are hoping someone here might have insights into resolving our issue. Our journey started when we decided to create a betting tips app. We initially purchased a template, customized it extensively, and after three months, the app was ready for iOS submission. However, upon review, we received a 4.3 Spam rejection, citing similarities to other apps on the App Store. We scheduled a call with an Apple representative, who informed us that the issue was code-related—the same code had been used in other apps. Taking this feedback seriously, we spent a month modifying the code, but repeated rejections led us to a more drastic decision: we started over from scratch, avoiding templates, AI-generated code, and GitHub repositories. Three months later, we had a brand-new app with a fully redesigned UI, freshly written code, and additional features we had not seen in any other betting tips app on iOS. We submitted the new app under a
