Hi, have just done a clean install of Big Sur on my 2015 MBP and the start up time has literally increased 3x. However, once booted it does run smoothly and quite fast. Why is boot-up soooo long? Will boot-up get faster with updates?

I dont use Sidecar frequently, but just noticed after my upgrade that my iPad Pro 11 is no longer visible as a target for my Macbook Pro (late 2016). Both are running the Beta 1 (Big Sur on Macbook, and iPadOS 14). Anybody else experiencing this?
I am sorry I upgraded to Big Sur. My download speeds are terrible, and my formally speedy 2017 Imac internet performance is really terrible. I have gigabit internet, and it's almost like I am on a slow DSL line after the upgrade. I hope they can fix this issue soon. How did this get past Alpha and Beta testing anyway?
Trying to update macOS Big Sur to my early 2014 MacBook air. Didnt show up in the updates so got it from apples website download link to App Store. it’s stuck on the part ”macOS big sur will be installed on the disk Macintosh HD” not letting me continue
Is it possible to downgrade from Big Sur, I’ve heard it is not good for working with development tools like git. I’m planning on buying a mini, but I’m not sure if I can downgrade or if I should wait until all the kinks have been ironed out.
Audio quality is poor when playing music or videos online or from MacBook Pro with Big Sur
I am using SF Symbols extensively in a MacOS SwiftUI app. I recently upgraded the os on both my Mac and laptop to Big Sur. My Mac already had the SF Symbols app and I installed the new os without a clean install whereas my laptop was completely wiped clean before installing Big Sur. Now when I run my app it displays the symbols correctly on the Mac but they don't show up on the laptop. I thought the SF symbols were part of the Big Sur Os but it looks like at least in my case they need to be downloaded separately. How does that work with an app that uses them? Thanks!
Big sur on my Mac is running slow do you have any solution for it? Please tell me if there is.
Has anyone test latest version of Netbeans with Big Sur?. It is running fine? Thanks!!
since downloading Big Sur my Macbook pro won't go online
Hi, I need to run a jar file on Big Sur that runs fine on Catalina. Not only can't I run it, but when I back up and just try to compile and run a simple HelloWorld I can't do that on Big Sur either. I have installed java but when I enter javac HelloWorld.java on Big Sur I get a file not found. I've also tried entering the entire path to the file and that doesn't work either. On Catalina, the first time I tried this in a new file I got a pop-up that asks me for permission and then it works fine so my assumption is that this is a permissions issue. Any thoughts? Thanks, Daniel
I just purchased my Mac mini on Saturday. It will not update the big sur 11.1 and keeps saying 'some updates could not be installed'. When I click details it simply gives me the screen to update now or later, I click now, and it asks for my password, type it in, and hit update, and it tells me the same message...it's a vicious circle.
I've been trying to update my MacBook Pro from macOS Catalina to MacOS Big Sur. Every time I start up the installation process, it'll start and then an error code will pop up stating, An error has occurred loading this update. I've tried restarted it, put it in safe mode to update it and the error code still comes up. What should I do?
I have an external ssd with Big Sur beta installed. Booting to the external ssd works just fine - I upgraded to 20A5395g yesterday. However, I am unable (when booted to 10.15.7) to mount the Big Sur volume. The dialog box that presents itself reads: Could not mount Big Sur Boot - Data. (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930868) Is this by design? Can anyone else boot a working Big Sur volume onto a Catalina system?
