Wake up this morning and see this very concerning sticky message in Notification Center: bash was prevented from modifying apps It didn't say what parent program called `bash' so I clicked on the N.C. message to see if there was more information and it just disappeared (as if I had chosen to click on the X to clear the message-I wish I had taken a screenshot first). I have already sent in a request to Apple for them to give more detailed information on events like this. If there is an existing threat on a device it needs to be removed. The only thing that I know of that happened overnight was a SPAM email from "Norton Antivirus" came into my Gmail Inbox that wasn't filtered as SPAM and macOS announced it in Notification Center. I don't see anything funny in the RAW data of the email - and reported it to spamcop. Is it possible that a malicious email could contain html code that runs when it's announced via macOS Notification Center?

I just tried to update to iOS 18.... Stated I needed to free up storage... I did..... Attempted to download the update it stopped halfway because now the update has taken up all the space and now telling me I need 11gb more which basically is me deleting everything off my phone as I've already deleted the original amount they asked before the update started. At this point stop updating the iOS because it's just a sham to make people buy more storage space

The android app was built in-house, but the iOS app was outsourced to an app/web development agency. The problem: the aforementioned agency ceased operations in mid-2024 without notifying us. They cancelled their dev program enrollment and our apps are no longer available on the App Store. And the agency reps are not responding to emails and phone calls. My question: is there a way to get access to our application? We plan in-house redesign and refactoring in 2025, but we want access to the bundle ID, the app groups, the iCloud container, etc. We can present legal documents, company website and branding, everything to prove that app is technically ours. Scenario: hardware keyboard is attached to iPhone Before iOS 18.2, if I setup only two keyboards (e.g., english and emoji) in the system, click Globe key can switch to iOS emoji keyboard without problem. I purchased an iPad Pro M4 in early December, and since day one, I’ve been experiencing a recurring issue. Almost every day, at random times, the device freezes for 1–5 minutes and then restarts itself. The tablet is not under heavy load when this happens — I mainly use it for light tasks such as watching videos in a player or Safari browser, web surfing, and reading books. The issue has even occurred while the iPad was idle and locked; it froze, displayed the Apple logo, and rebooted. I brought the device back to the store where I purchased it, and they sent it for a diagnostic check. However, the experts concluded that the device is fully functional, and no defects were found. After one of these crashes, I noticed that my Apple Pencil started lagging (see video file IMG_5688.MOV). However, after another reboot, the issue with the Apple Pencil resolved itself. I’ve documented the issue with several video recordings showing the freezing and rebooting behavior, as well as error logs generated after such incidents. Device Details: Model: iPad Pro M4 Usage: Light tasks only (video streaming, web browsing, reading) Environment: No overheating, no resource-heavy applications running What could be causing this issue, and how can I resolve it? I am working on task to add WKWebView to Autofill extension. This web view presents web content that can access camera feed. As an example here is a simple html: I have added Camera permission entitlements to both main app and autofill extension Info.plist Camera feed is accessed properly from the main app. However, doing the same in the Autofill extension does not show Camera stream in the web content. I am receiving camera permissions alert and am allowing permissions. I locked a few Apps like YouTube and my browser with the new App Lock feature from IOS 18 and all works well, if I want to access the app over the home screen. The problem appears if the app is closed completely and I open a link which gets opened in the locked app. Then the App lock gets bypassed and the app opens completely without authentication.

When I use the screenshot feature, I find that the screenshot becomes darker in color compared to the original image, this seems to be a bug in iOS 18. can anyone help me?

there are no AI chips on iOS 18.1, there is a region with great states and English everywhere. there is no apple intelligence and siri section (just siri instead). There is also no eraser function in the photo app.

Apple's review team informed us that we are using the ATT framework, but when we analyzed the IPA package using MobSF, the LIBRARIES section did not include the AppTrackingTransparency.framework and AdSupport.framework, nor the NSUserTrackingUsageDescription field. We didn't use ATT in our code, nor did we declare NSUserTrackingUsageDescription in the info.plist. Toggle button for SMS forwarding (iOS Settings app > Apps > Messages > SMS Forwarding) missing in iPhone. Instead of Toggle button for SMS forwarding (iOS Settings app > Apps > Messages > SMS Forwarding) in iPhone ,a grayed out text appears if the other Apple device is logged in to iCloud after the primary iPhone. Messages in iCloud are switched On for all devices, and all devices are on latest iOS, iPadOS, macOS. iMessage is also On. The toggle button appears for SMS forwarding (iOS Settings app > Apps > Messages > SMS Forwarding) in iPhone against any device logged in to Apple account in the following conditions: 1.) the iPhone is restored as new and logged on to the iCloud ID, after the other Apple device was logged in to iCloud with same ID. In other words, the iPhone under consideration and its Messages in iCloud are logged on in the last out of all other Apple devices (iPad, macBook, any other iPhone); or 2.) the messages in iCloud is toggled "Off" in the respective other Apple device. Perhaps the above condition (2) is emanating out of the Apple support article https://support.apple.com/en-in/102545, but the condition at (1) definitely does not seem to have any basis. The behaviour at (1) seems a bug.

I am trying to move my home directory to a secondary drive, but I am running into to two issues. When I try to do it via Finder I get the error - The operation can’t be completed because “<my account name>” needs to be downloaded. And when I try to do it via the terminal in recovery mode (after mounting the Data directory), It seems to copy a set of directories within ~/Library/Daemon Containers/. These appear to be snapshots of some sort, which when cp runs, end up taking up the entire drive of the target drive, which is 4 times larger than my base volume. Two questions: Why I am getting the message via finder (and how do I get around it? What is the correct process for moving the home directory to a second drive? Thanks!
