App Groups names are red
I have recently restarted an old code base. The app uses App Groups to communicate with network and endpoint system extensions. For some reason, in Xcode > Target > Signing & Capabilities the app groups are showing up with red text. I feel the red signifies a problem, but I cannot figure out what it is. The app compiles and runs, but I feel there is problem that I am missing. Any idea why App Group names would be displayed in red?

Device with Number Already exists on this Team
I've created a new project in Xcode. I'm running the Xcode 16.4 and MacOS 15.5. I'm trying to run my barebones project on my iPhone 16 (I'm just getting started). I turned on developer mode on my iPhone and went through the whole process. But in the Signing & Capabilities of my project under status I see two errors... There is a problem with the request entity A device with number 'XXXX8801C' already exists on this team. Provisioning profile "iOS Team Provisioning Profile: [MyBundleID]" doesn't include the currently selected device "My iPhone" (identifier XXXX8801C). I noticed in the devices on the developer portal that my device is showing as "Processing." I feel ike it's stuck. But I can't figure out how to clear it all out and try again. It's been 24 hours since this error came up. I've tried to clear trusted computers on the iPhone. I've deleted the "Derived Data" folder. I've removed my developer account from Xcode and added it again. I've restarted both my Mac and my iPhone multiple times. I've noticed it asked to authorize my computer twice. When I clear the authorized computers and then plug the phone back in it asks twice again. So I'm not sure if this is the issue? No idea why it asks twice but I'm only ever able to respond to the second request as the first request gets blocked in the UI by the second requests if that makes sense? I'm also not able to turn off developer mode on my iPhone. The switch isn't there as the docs state it should be. So again, I feel like this is the phone and the developer portal stuck causing the problem. Note: I saw someone else had encountered this problem and I replied to it and boosted it. But it looks like it was posted in 2017? Hence this new post.

Icon Composer icon changes font (!) in output
Hi, I'm experiencing a super weird and unexpected issue using Icon Composer (Version 1.0 (40)) and Xcode 26 beta 7. I have an icon that includes some minimal text in the icon, as part of the branding of the app. The text is an SVG layer in Icon Composer. Icon Composer has no idea this is text, just a regular SVG layer. When I import the resulting .icon file into Xcode, it appears correct in the Xcode preview. However, when building the app and installing it on the iOS 26 simulator, the font of the text in the icon changes (to the system default font?). It is also cropped, cut off, and off-center. I replicated this with a simple standalone icon and clean project. Is anyone else seeing this?

Issues with Push Notifications and Call Implementation in Flutter App on iOS (Debug Works, Production/TestFlight Fails)
Hello Developers, I am currently developing a Flutter application where I am implementing both push notifications (for messages) and VoIP call notifications. The implementation works perfectly fine on Android. However, I am facing issues specifically on iOS in the following scenarios: Terminated State: When the app is terminated on iOS, neither call notifications nor message notifications are received. In the background state, things partially work, but in the terminated state, nothing comes through. Debug vs Production: In Debug mode, everything works as expected (both message and call notifications). Once I release the app to TestFlight (Production), the notifications completely stop working: Message notifications are not delivered at all. Call notifications also fail to appear in terminated state. Configuration Details: I have already configured APNs with .p8 key in Firebase. The required capabilities (Push Notifications, Background Modes → Remote notifications, VoIP, etc.) are enabled in Xcode. I also updated the AppDelegate.swift / Notification handling code for production environment. Despite these steps, the same issue persists in production/TestFlight. It seems like the issue is specifically related to production environment handling on iOS, since everything works in debug. My Question: What could be causing push notifications and call notifications to not work in the terminated state on iOS, especially in production/TestFlight builds? Are there additional configuration steps required for APNs, VoIP, or background handling in production that differ from debug mode? Any guidance or similar experiences would be really helpful. Thanks in advance for your support.

Xcode 26, Pull Requests support
Does anyone have problems with the Pull Request functionality in Xcode 26 RC? I can’t create a new pull request inside Xcode (it always redirects me to the web page). I can’t see changes within an existing pull request (I only see the PR name; I can’t even approve it or request changes). I’ve had this problem since beta 1 of Xcode 26. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Xcode 26 beta 3 - Metal toolchain installed but not working
Under Xcode 26 beta 3 I'm trying to build a project which uses Metal. I've installed the Metal Toolchain 26.0 under Settings -> Components, but when I start a build it fails during the "Prepare build" step with the following error (repeated many times): stat(/var/run/com.apple.security.cryptexd/mnt/com.apple.MobileAsset.MetalToolchain-v17.1.5276.7.Pb9SLL/Metal.xctoolchain/usr/bin/clang): No such file or directory (2) I've confirmed that there is in fact no 'clang' binary in that directory. I've tried using xcode-select to set the Xcode 26 Beta app as the active developer directory, and xcodebuild -version shows: Xcode 26.0 Build version 17A5276g Any ideas on other things to try?

Validation Failed when using Icon Composer App Icon
I am trying to validate my update for my app to be ready for iOS 26 with the new Icon Composer .icon file. Everywhere I read says that the old AppIcon in the assets folder wouldnt be used and to just drop the .icon file in the project navigator and link it properly. I do that and its still asking for a .png file; I add the 1024x1024 .png file and its still not working. I am very lost and dont know where to go from here I have both the .icon and .png app icons in there. My app deployment target is at iOS 26, Xcode Project format 16.3 (I dont see 26 so assuming 16.3 is the highest). I feel I have done all the things, and advice? Thanks in advance!

How do I use IOUserSCSIPeripheralDeviceType00?
I am having similar problems to this guy on Stack Overflow over a year ago: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/77627852/functions-of-iouserscsiperipheraldevicetype00-class-in-scsiperipheralsdriverkit There are also a few questions on this forum about this object, none of which have answers. I can get my driver to match and instantiate, but nobody calls my UserDetermineDeviceCharacteristics (which does nothing, just returns kIOReturnSuccess) I can attempt to call UserSuspendServices(), UserResumeServices() or UserReportMediumBlockSize() and all of them return kIOReturnUnsupported. It doesn't matter if I've unmounted the disk or not. Is the custom driver supposed to be instantiated beside the kernel's IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceType00, or should it replace it? What should its IOProviderClass be? What should its IOClass be - IOUserService, or something else? see FB19678139 and FB19677920

macOS WeatherKit "A server with the specified hostname could not be found"
My code was running with with the version before Xcode 26 RC. I recompiled one last time. Now I'm getting the error: A server with the specified hostname could not be found let now = Calendar.current.date(byAdding: .hour, value: 1, to: Date())! let nextWeek = Calendar.current.date(byAdding: .day, value: 14, to: Date())! do { let (dailyForecast, hourlyForecast, currentWeather, alertWeather) = try await weatherService.weather(for: thisLocation, including: .daily, .hourly(startDate: now, endDate: nextWeek), .current, .alerts) Suggestions?

Xcode 26.0 beta 7 - AI - Create files? Client (Xcode) timing out?
I didn't check this out specifically on earlier betas, but AI is allowed to create new .swift files, yes? I'm only seeing proposals to create files (as opposed to code which it can change automatically), and the CREATE FILE button to the right of any proposed file creation does nothing. Next I'll mention running local models, but file creation does not seem to happen for neither ChatGPT nor any local model. Also I'm experimenting with LM Studio and it is reporting my client is timing out. So I guess Xcode is not waiting long enough for a response? The local models are slow, yes. But is there a setting for the AI timeout value? I told the LLM "Every 1 minute send me an update so I know you are still working so my client does not time out" which seems to have no visible effect, it hasn't timed out yet, but I don't visibly see that message.

GameKit Manage Game Progress does not work for Leaderboards
Works fine to show achievements but not Leaderboards. Launching the Xcode Project directly on device, loading remote (not yet live) leaderboards without issue and submitting scores to them works fine as well. I was hoping that rather than going through the app store distribution leaderboards with all of their limitations I could instead run it locally and add scores to test the behaviour, but even though I can edit the achievements progress locally, I can't see any leaderboards being available... One out of 3 leaderboards started beginning of this september while the other 2 leaderboards won't launch until the game launch.

What will be the minimum iOS deployment target for Xcode 26?
Hi, I was checking docs about this (https://developer.apple.com/support/xcode/) where implies that the minimum iOS Deployment Target is iOS 15. However, I reviewed quotes from last year (https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/775703), where one of your engineers mentioned that the minimum version was actually iOS 12 for Xcode 16, when later on this page it was changed to 15 (even though internally the actual minimum is 12). So our team was wondering what the minimum version was for Xcode 26, since the page mentions iOS 15.
