CoreML memory allocation logic
hello, I got a question about coreml. I loaded the coreml model in the project and set the computing unit to CPU+GPU. When I used instruments to analyze the performance, I found that there was an overhead of prepare gpu request before each inference. I also checked the freezing point graph and found that memory was frequently allocated. Is this as expected? Is there any way to avoid frequent prepares? I have tried some methods, such as memory sharing of predict interface input parameters, but it seems to be ineffective.

Enabling Main Thread Checker in Xcode May Cause Category Method Implementation Conflicts for UI-Related Classes
Environment: Xcode Version: 16.0 (latest stable release) iOS Version: 18.3.1 Devices: physical devices Configuration: Main Thread Checker enabled (Edit Scheme > Run > Diagnostics) Issue Description When the Main Thread Checker is enabled, methods defined in a UIViewController category (e.g., supportedInterfaceOrientations) fail to execute, whereas the subclass implementation of the same method works as expected. This conflicts with the normal behavior where both implementations should be called. Steps to Reproduce 1、Declare a category method in UIViewController+Extend.m: // UIViewController+Extend.m @implementation UIViewController (Extend) - (UIInterfaceOrientationMask)supportedInterfaceOrientations { NSLog(@"category supportedInterfaceOrientations hit"); return UIInterfaceOrientationMaskAll; } @end 2、Override the same method in a subclass ,call super methed(ViewController.m): // ViewController.m @implementation ViewController - (UIInterfaceOrientationMask)supportedInterfaceOrientations { NSLog(@"subclass called supportedInterfaceOrientations called"); return [super supportedInterfaceOrientations]; // Expected to call the category implementation } @end 3、Expected Behavior (Main Thread Checker disabled): subclass called supportedInterfaceOrientations called category supportedInterfaceOrientations hit 4、Actual Behavior (Main Thread Checker enabled): subclass called supportedInterfaceOrientations called // category supportedInterfaceOrientations hit Requested Resolution Please investigate: 1、Why Main Thread Checker disrupts category method invocation. 2、Whether this is a broader issue affecting other UIKit categories.

Unexpected app version in logs — does MARKETING_VERSION change dynamically?
Hello, I've encountered unexpected behavior related to version information in our app logs, and I'd like to ask for some advice. We reviewed logs collected from a user running our app (currently available on the App Store). The logs are designed to include both the build number and the app version. Based on the build number in the logs, we believe the installed app version on the user's device is 1.0.3. However, the app version recorded in the logs is 1.1.5, which is the latest version currently available on the App Store. In our project, we set the app version using the MARKETING_VERSION environment variable. This value is configured via XcodeGen, and we define it in a YAML file. Under normal circumstances, the value defined in the YAML file (MARKETING_VERSION = 1.0.3) should be embedded in the app and reflected in the logs. But in this case, the version from the current App Store release (1.1.5) appears instead, which was unexpected. We'd like to know what might cause this behavior, and if there are any known factors that could lead to this. Also, is it possible that MARKETING_VERSION might somehow dynamically reflect the version currently available on the App Store? YAML: info.plist:

When I inherit from a class assigning SceneLocationView() sceneNode is nil
When I try to post a LocationAnnotations of a subclass respect to the one defining variable sceneLocationView, by way of: sceneLocationView.addLocationNodeWithConfirmedLocation(locationNode: bannerAnnotationLocation) When I enter in: public func addLocationNodeWithConfirmedLocation(locationNode: LocationNode) { if locationNode.location == nil || locationNode.locationConfirmed == false { return } updatePositionAndScaleOfLocationNode(locationNode: locationNode, initialSetup: true, animated: true) locationNodes.append(locationNode) print(sceneNode?.description ?? "nil") self.sceneNode?.addChildNode(locationNode) } I find sceneNode to nil, like if the effect of the renderer is lost when subclassing. I also tried to create a new variable in the subclass also assigning SceneLocationView(), but sceneNode remains nil. What to do to force it to assume a value?

Trouble Distributing iOS + WatchOS App as a Bundle (Info.plist / Target Confusion)
Hi all, I’m running into an issue with my iOS + Apple Watch app project, and I could really use some advice. My WatchOS app requires an iOS companion for settings and configuration, so both apps need to be distributed together. Here’s how I structured my Xcode project: Main iOS App target WatchOS App target WatchOS Extension target However, I’m very confused about how these targets interact, and things are not working as expected. The problem: I can build and run the WatchOS app and its extension independently in the simulator by selecting their schemes. When I select the main iOS app scheme, I get an error about ITSWatchOnlyContainer in the Info.plist—even though there’s no Info tab for that target in Xcode. I’m able to distribute the WatchOS app by itself, and the extension as well. But I can’t distribute them bundled together as a single package, and I haven’t found any clear resources that explain how to fix this. This is my very first app, and it’s frustrating to get stuck just before the finish line! Project Structure / steps to reproduce Let’s say my project is called MyAppProject, with these targets: MyAppProject Main iOS App Embedded target: MyAppProject Watch App Bundle identifier: com.example.MyAppProject MyAppProject Watch App WKCompanionAppBundleIdentifier: com.example.MyAppProject “Requires iOS App”: YES MyAppProject Extension Bundle identifier: com.example.MyAppProject When running from the MyAppProject scheme, I get this error (even though I can’t see or edit the Info.plist in Xcode for this target): “Please try again later. This app has the ITSWatchOnlyContainer key set in its Info.plist, which identifies it as a shell app surrounding a Watch-only app; these are not installable.” As a result, I can’t distribute the app as a bundle. I’d appreciate help understanding: How should the Info.plist files be configured for each target? What do I do if the Info.plist path seems missing in the Xcode UI? Is there a “correct” way to structure an iOS + WatchOS app for bundled distribution?

Developer Program Stuck in UAE Region Despite US Apple ID
Hi everyone, I’m trying to enroll in the Apple Developer Program, but I’m stuck in a strange region issue. My Apple ID was originally created in the United States, and I’ve already: • Set my Apple ID region to the United States • Updated my payment and shipping address to a valid US billing address • Changed the App Store country/region on my iPhone to the United States • Signed in to the Apple Developer site after all of the above Despite all this, when I try to pay for the Developer Program, the enrollment page still shows the price in AED (UAE Dirhams) and lists the region as UAE. Apple Support couldn’t fix it and told me to try the forums. I’m worried that if I go ahead and pay, my developer account will be permanently tied to the UAE region, even though everything else is U.S.-based. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a hidden cache, setting, or workaround to get the Developer Program to recognize the U.S. region correctly? Any help would be massively appreciated. Thanks in advance

How can I add a folder to my app's bundle
In previous Xcode versions, it was possible to add a folder reference to a project, and in the copy resources build phase it would copy the folder the bundle, rather than the contents (i.e. the folder's contents would be nested inside a directory named after the folder). In Xcode 16.4, when creating a folder reference, the copy resources build phase will copy the contents of the folder to the bundle at the root level (not nested), like the old behavior when creating a group rather than a folder reference. If you look at the raw project.pbxproj file, it shows up as a "File System Synchronized Root Group" rather than a "File Reference". Is there a way to get the old behavior, aside from hand-editing the project.pbxproj file?

Xcode 16 | xcodebuild fails when providing -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator,name=iPhone 16,arch=x86_64'
Hello. In the Xcode 15 we were using this command in the terminal to run our tests on the Rosetta Simulator: xcodebuild -workspace CoreLibraries.xcworkspace -scheme CoreLibraries -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator, name=iPhone 15,arch=x86_64' test` In the Xcode 16 the same command doesn't work anymore. It produces the error: xcodebuild: error: Unable to find a device matching the provided destination specifier: { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:x86_64, OS:latest, name:iPhone 16 } Unsupported device specifier option. The device “iPhone 16” does not support the following options: arch Please supply only supported device specifier options. Running test directly from the Xcode UI using iPhone 16 (Rosetta) still works fine. Does anyone know how to modify the xcodebuild command to make it work again?

Blocker: Registering simulator runtime with CoreSimulator failed.
Hello, FWIW I've been developing enterprise iOS apps going on 10 years and haven't seen a bug like this. It's a major blocker. Any advice is welcome. Pulled latest from my team's repository . I ran into a build issue. Reinstalled cocoa pods, resolved swift packages, cleared cache, and then tried to update my iOS simulators... Since then, everything is bricked. Can't side load an app or download a simulator. When I try to download simulator, as suggested by Xcode, I receive the following error: Registering simulator runtime with CoreSimulator failed. Extract App Intents Metadata build error and SwiftConstValues files not being generated
Hello, We are reaching out to the official forum as an option to help us solve an issue we’re encountering with our app. The problem lies in the implementation of the AppIntents framework in our codebase, which, at the moment, is impossible to complete due to compilation errors occurring in specific targets of our app. We are currently using Xcode 16.0. First of all, we want to clarify that the integration of the AppIntents library poses no issues in our development targets (pre-production environments), since no additional code obfuscation steps are performed there. However, in the release targets used for production builds (those intended to be released to users), we encounter the following compilation error: These errors indicate that the “.swiftconstvalues” files are missing for all of the files in our application. We also want to highlight that we are using a code obfuscation tool called Arxan, provided by Digital.ai. This tool is integrated via specific Build Settings configurations, various files added to the project, and an additional Build Phase script. We have conducted the following tests: Disabling Arxan in release targets: The app compiles successfully and those files are generated (suspicious, I know). Adding a library with AppIntents references and an AppIntent in our app: Both scenarios produce the same compilation error. Creating a demo project with AppIntents and Arxan (basic implementation): The project compiles correctly and those files are in place. Contacting Digital.ai support: They suggested several changes to the Build Settings, but none of them resolved the issue. Additionally, we’ve attempted to gather information from the compiler to understand how these “.swiftconstvalues” files are generated. Unfortunately, we haven’t found any official documentation, so we would like to ask a few questions: Is it possible to interfere with the creation of these files in any way? For example, via scripts or other custom build steps? Is there any way to force the generation of these files through a build parameter or flag? Is it possible to bypass the “Extract App Intents Metadata” step during compilation? If so, what would be the implications of doing this when using a library that includes references to AppIntents? I know that involving a code obfuscation tool raises suspicions about it being the problem, we just want to know a little more about this compilation step to have some more context before reaching them again. Feel free to ask any questions or details, any reply is appreciated. Thanks

To Use Xcode Intelligence Features should I partition my drive?
Hello, I normally don't update to the latest macOS version until it is stable. However, I really want to try the Xcode intelligence features. Do you guys just update your Mac to the latest beta version? Or do you partition your drive? Is there a better way than partitioning now? It's been a long time since I partitioned. Thanks

I’d appreciate help understanding: How should the Info.plist files be configured for each target? What do I do if the Info.plist path seems missing in the Xcode UI? Is there a “correct” way to structure an iOS + WatchOS app for bundled distribution?

Setting LSApplicationCategoryType
Is this a valid thing to include in the Info.plist file? If so is a category of public.app-category.astronomyvalid? I couldn't find that, but the categories I did find seemed very limited.

Does anyone know how to modify the xcodebuild command to make it work again?

webviews are crashing in 18.5 simulator
The app I am working on crashes when opening a webview. webviews are working on iOS 18.2 simulator, but crashing in 18.5 simulator. On actual devices they don't seem to crash. Can someone know the reason for it and how to fix it?

Domain: DVTDownloadableErrorDomain Code: 29 User Info: { DVTErrorCreationDateKey = "2025-05-28 19:18:13 +0000"; } Registering simulator runtime with CoreSimulator failed. I've cleared caches. I cleared project builds and all old simulators. I've reverted to much older previous commits after trying above just in case (even though I've verified no one else on my team is experiencing this issue). Nothing works. I found a post online and tried this command: xcrun devicectl manage ddis update Resulting in this: Host CoreDevice version: 443.19 13:57:32 Updating host DDIs. 13:57:32 Failed to update the host's developer disk images.
Thanks
