Reply to EXC_BAD_ACCESS issue need advice
[Different DTS engineer here; I’m picking up this thread because it’s directly aligned with my area of expertise.]
it does not appear in Xcode Organizer.
Right. The issue here is that you have a third-party crash reporter installed and it’s failing to preserve the Apple crash report. Reply to Disable Local Network Access permission check
We just posted a TN3179 update with info about the AllowedEthernetLocalNetworkAddresses and AllowedWiFiLocalNetworkAddresses user defaults. I think this might be useful in your situation, where you have limited control over the software involved but deep control over the Mac on which it runs. Using the Bloom filter tool to configure a URL filter Error 9
Hi, I tried to follow this guide: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/networkextension/filtering-traffic-by-url And this: https://github.com/apple/pir-service-example I already deploy the pir service on my server. And set the configuration on the app like this: { name = SimpleURLFilter identifier = xxxxx applicationName = SimpleURLFilter application = com.xxxx.SimpleURLFilter grade = 2 urlFilter = { Enabled = YES FailClosed = NO AppBundleIdentifier = com.mastersystem.SimpleURLFilter ControlProviderBundleIdentifier = com.xxxx.SimpleURLFilter.SimpleURLFilterExtension PrefilterFetchFrequency = 2700 pirServerURL = https://xxxxx/pir pirPrivacyPassIssuerURL = https://xxxxx/pir AuthenticationToken = AAAA pirPrivacyProxyFailOpen = NO pirSkipRegistration = NO } } But I got this error when I tried to enable the service on the app: Received filter status change: What does that error mean? And how to fix it?

Extract raw Screen Time data? Security says it's 'expected'
Hi everyone, I have a question regarding the intended privacy limits of the DeviceActivityReportExtension. According to the documentation and the WWDC21 session Meet the Screen Time API, this extension was created specifically to prevent the host application from accessing the user's underlying activity data (websites visited, app usage, screen time, etc). But I have found that my host app is actually able to reconstruct this raw activity data from the activity report. I am able to extract specific visited websites and app usage durations back into the main app. I reported this to Apple Security (Case ID: OE1100504480881 ), assuming it was a sandbox bypass. However, they closed the ticket stating that this is expected behavior and requires no fix. My question for Screen Time Engineers: Is the documentation incorrect? If my host app is expected to be able to read this data, is there a formal API we should be using instead of extracting it from the report extension? The current behavior contradicts the

Reply to Extract raw Screen Time data? Security says it's 'expected'
Hi, thanks for posting this — I've been hitting the exact same wall. I'm building a screen time management app and spent considerable time trying to persist per-app usage data from the DeviceActivityReportExtension to the App Group container. I exhaustively tested every storage mechanism available: Core Data, JSON files, UserDefaults (App Group suite), Keychain, raw POSIX syscalls, SQLite, iCloud KV, and NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore. All fail with permission errors — the extension is completely write-locked at the kernel level (POSIX errno 1 / EPERM). I also confirmed the DeviceActivityMonitor extension has the same restriction. So I'm very interested in your finding that the host app can reconstruct raw activity data from the report. Could you share more about the technique you used? Specifically: How does your host app access the data from the report extension? Is it through the rendered view hierarchy, some callback mechanism, or something else entirely? Are you able to get per-app bundle identifiers and dura

Apple Developer Account Not Activated After Payment Confirmation
I enrolled in the Apple Developer Program more than 48 hours ago around 4 days ago. The payment was successfully charged to my card, and I received a subscription confirmation email. However, my developer account is still not activated, and I’m unable to access the full developer features. Has anyone experienced a similar delay? Is there anything specific I should do, or does activation take longer than expected , i tried to contact support twice throw mail but i got no response ! Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

Reply to Wanted: Live Activities, only on iOS (No remote iOS Live Activities)
Thank you for your post. I must admit that I am not entirely clear on your question regarding creating a Live Activity for a remote hosting environment. I believe I may have misunderstood your inquiry. Could you please provide me with additional details to clarify your objectives? As currently, Live Activities are designed primarily for iOS devices, and they appear on the Lock Screen and Control Center. December 16, 2025 Updated guidance for all platforms, and added guidance for macOS and CarPlay. https://developer.apple.com/design/human-interface-guidelines/live-activities/ If you want to bring Live Activities to Apple Watch: https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2024/10068/ Including the documentation for the live activities guide. In-App-Purchase review rejected
Testing with testflight the IAP work with sandbox. But Apple Review was rejected. It was explained that the IAP could not be found. I cancelled the review, added the IAP to all countries again. The IAPs are in status waiting for review. Now when preparing the version, I cannot choose anymore the IAP. I don't find the option anymore to add the IAP products on the version page. Contracts are all active and in the app for me and others it is working.

Reply to Unusually long “Waiting for Review” times this week (App Store + TestFlight delays?)
This was expected. Apple open the AI flood gates with those agent in XCode. Meaning repeating trash Apps are overpopulating the Store and in consequence, unjustified weeks long review times. This is a big🖕 to the Developer community, 🍏is siding with AI generators, which now PIRATE our code directly through agents. They should at least have the decency to remove the anual fee, but no.. too much greed involved🤑

Reply to NFC support in iOS application in India
First, please check the document NFC & SE Platform for secure contactless transactions for the requirements and regional availability of NFC support with Secure Element. NFCTagReaderSession cannot be used for payment cards. You will need to use alternate CoreNFC APIs, which are only available via special entitlements and agreements. The document above will also explain the requirements for getting access to those APIs. Eventually, you will need to enter into an agreement with Apple and request the NFC & SE Platform Entitlement, if you satisfy the requirements as listed in the document above. If you are not able to use those APIs, PassKit framework will be your only remaining option, if appropriate. If you have already requested the relevant entitlements, if approved, you will receive further guidance on how to proceed with your development.
