Reply to user login using POST method in objective C
Hi eskimo,Thank you for your time and suggestion.I've also tried to run this part of code and finally I wrote the correct code. But though I'm new to Xcode, it'll be a great help if you look into the following code and suggest me if any further modification is required or not. Here I'm trying to fetch the input data from the two text fields in my app and try to send it to server side using POST method. Here is my updated code:-- (IBAction)loginAction:(UIButton *)sender{ NSMutableDictionary *post = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc]init]; [post setValue:self.userNameField.text forKey:@username]; [post setValue:self.passwordField.text forKey:@password]; NSArray* notifications = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:post, nil]; NSError *writeError = nil; NSData *jsonData = [NSJSONSerialization dataWithJSONObject:notifications options:kNilOptions error:&writeError]; NSString *postLength = [NSString stringWithFormat:@%d,[jsonData length]]; NSMutableURLRequest *request = [[NSMutableURLRequest alloc]init]; [request setURL:[NSURL UR

Reply to NSUserDefaults initWithSuiteName on 10.11
It turns about that this only seems to happen with certain bundle ID's and group names. The bundle ID of my main app is a.b.c and I was using the group name a.b.c.d. I changed my group name to <TeamID>.a.b.c.d and the problem went away. Thus it appears that having a group name prefixed with a bundle ID causes problems.

Reply to Display not awakening after Beta El Capitan 15A263e install
OK--now I see the Preferences and have checked the notifications. Don't know how I missed that.Meanwhile, I let the computer sit for about 2 hours tonight, monitor plugged in and left on, and it didn't awaken properly. I had removed the additional two Parrot kext files earier, but had not rebooted, so naturally they were still in the memory if they had been loaded. Here's the log file, beginning at 7:54 or so. I'll see if there's any problem tonight, now that I assume all the Parrot files are gone.9/25/15 7:51:37.000 PM kernel[0]: nspace-handler-set-snapshot-time: 14432286999/25/15 7:51:37.520 PM com.apple.mtmd[213]: Set snapshot time: 2015-09-25 19:51:39 -0500 (current time: 2015-09-25 19:51:37 -0500)9/25/15 7:54:52.804 PM Microsoft Word[2812]: Stream 0x7ff59780 is sending an event before being opened9/25/15 7:54:52.804 PM Microsoft Word[2812]: Stream 0x7ff59780 is sending an event before being opened9/25/15 7:55:13.824 PM Microsoft Word[2812]: open on /Users/kvatz/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G

Reply to The natural numbers encoded as types
Yes, I understand the axiomatic basis of the natural numbers. I misread Jens's original post, so you can ignore what I said, but formulating a better response isn't easy (so I didn't).— I think you're correct that the Swift type system can't do on its own what was requested (deriving operations like addition).— I think that, aside from Swift's capabilities, the Peano postulates are the wrong place to start, because their definition of addition is recursive in terms of the successor function, and is therefore not computationally feasible. Neither we nor our computers add that way, because it takes too long to get to big numbers.— I think that it's more promising to try something in terms of the logarithmic representation of numbers (that is to say, in terms of digits or bits), as we do in real life. In terms of Jens's approach, this would mean using types with multiple generic parameters, each parameter representing one bit of the represented number. Any solution would involve a cooperative group of s

Focusable UIViews no longer getting focus
Community,I have an overlay menu that displays when the user pressed the MENU button. The menu consists of some customized UIViews with animated states, etc. The menu itself is dyncamically rendered and desposited on screen at once in a loop, with each UIView returing TRUE from -canBecomeFocused. This has worked perfectly until I added a new UIView item, not rendered as part of this group (outside the loop). This item, is just a single button, and is supposed to appear like the ubiquitous hamburger menu - here's a diagram:http://cl.ly/image/1D090Q2r1e0KOnce I add this last item - the app no longer allows me to move focus to the other UIViews - just this one menu item. What could be causing the focus system to ignore these other UIViews? Nothing is obscured? All frames are contained to the shape of the area of the selectable control.

Reply to Focusable UIViews no longer getting focus
I was able to correct this by adding a UIFocusGuide to adjust the search path of the focus engine, by looking at the source code in the Apple UIKit TvOS sample code:This code here establishes a region the focus engine should scan for focusable objects (top left, bottom left, top right, height). Knowing this, the focus engine can hit all the items contained within that region:focusGuide = UIFocusGuide() view.addLayoutGuide(focusGuide) / focusGuide.leftAnchor.constraintEqualToAnchor(topRightButton.leftAnchor).active = true focusGuide.topAnchor.constraintEqualToAnchor(bottomLeftButton.topAnchor).active = true / focusGuide.widthAnchor.constraintEqualToAnchor(topRightButton.widthAnchor).active = true focusGuide.heightAnchor.constraintEqualToAnchor(bottomLeftButton.heightAnchor).active = trueThis code appears in the FocusGuidesViewController, in the Focus samples group

Reply to AnimateWithTextures action crashes Xcode!
Hi Ben,I have exactly the same problem. Precisely, xcode crashes when two conditions in whichever order are met.1. An <animateWithTextures> action in a .sks file is selected in the editor.2. Reply to Login Problem El Capitan
I think you might very well be right about it being the keyboard. If your password is alphanumeric only (i.e. doesn't include any special characters or letter modifications like è) then you can test this by imagining that the keyboard is a QWERTY keyboard and typing your password accordingly.I also just want to check that you are aware that you don't have to use your iCloud password for the login password on your Mac - you can choose any password you want from System Preferences > Users & Groups (I'm assuming that you can still log in by clicking Forgot Password?

How to perform a specific action when button is pressed in a table row WatchKit?
I'm relatively new to developing Apple Watch apps and have managed to learn so far but I'm stuck at one thing. My goal is to create a group of table rows, all with the same identifier, that perform different actions when embedded buttons are pressed. For example, I have 3 rows, each with a different items name and a buy button. I want it so that when I click the buy button the PurchaseRowItem.m class runs a function that gets the row label and buys that item. Now - I have a feeling that for something like this I'll need to create bespoke classes for each row, but this feels way too ineffiecent. Simple, like the rest of WatchKit, but ineffiient. Thanks,Brendon

Display Images in divTemplate
I'm unable to display images in the divTemplate.I figured out (by trial and error) to use an card element to group elements together, but still cannot show Images (even not in Buttons)My code looks something like this:<?xml version=1.0 encoding=UTF-8 ?> <document> <head> <style> .wrapper { width: 1000; tv-position: top; margin: 50 0 0 460; } .upperLeftCard { width: 400; height: 400; background-color: red; tv-align: left; tv-position: top-left; } .upperRightCard { width: 400; height: 400; background-color: green; tv-align: right; tv-position: top-right; } .cardElement { background-color: white; tv-position: top-left; width: 400; font-size: 24; } </style> </head> <divTemplate> <card class=wrapper> <card class=upperLeftCard> <description class=cardElement>Upper Left Wrapper</description> </card> <card class=upperRightCard> <buttonLockup class=cardElement> <badge src=${this.BASEURL}resources/images/italy/italy_20_squar

Demo of Apple TV to other developers
Hi,A group of local developers - the local Cocoaheads group - a group of Swift and Objective C developers - about 20 of them want to see an Apple TV. Am I able to show them the unit and software running, they can try the remote, as they are interested in developing for the unit? I thought I should ask as Apple clearly want developers to get excited about this unit and develop software, and this is not a public demonstration where a journo is going to judge or review the software without understanding what beta means. It goes without saying no photography or recording. Cheers,Peter Smith.
