Slow photo transfer on iPadOS
I used to be able to very quickly transfer a large number (50 plus) of RAW photos (24mb each) using the Apple SD card reader to USB-C transfer to my 12.9 iPad 2018 (3rd gen.) when it ran the ORIGINAL iPadOS but with the subsequent beta updates all the way through to today's 13.5 that process now takes so long I don't even bother doing it anymore. What has changed in iPadOS that made what used to be a very fast transfer process into a too slow useless process? I used to review photos before leaving a location to make sure I got what I wanted but now I don't even bother taking my iPad with me anymore.

visionOS simulator on the iPadOS device
I was starting to test visionOS SDK on an existing project that has been running fine on iPad (iOS 17) with Xcode 15. It can be configured to run on visionOS simulator on a MacBook that runs M1 chip without any change in Xcode’s project Build Settings. However the Apple Vision Pro simulator doesn’t appear when I run Xcode 15 on Intel MacBook Pro, unless I change the SUPPORTED_PLATFORMS key on the Xcode’s project Build Settings to visionOS. Although, I can understand that a MacBook pro running M1 / M2 chip would be the ideal platform to run the visionOS simulator, it’s so much better if we can run the visionOS simulator on iPadOS, as it has the same arm64 architecture, and it has all the hardware needed to run camera, GPS, and Lidar. The Mac is not a good simulator, even though it has an M1 / M2 chip, first of all: It doesn’t have a dual facing camera (front and back) It doesn’t have a Lidar It doesn’t have GPS It doesn’t have a 5G cellular radio It’s not portable enough for developers to design use c

Detect drive attachment on iPadOS
I have been able to develop an application for iPadOS that allows someone to select a folder from an external drive using UIDocumentPickerViewController. I can then get access to the folder selected by the user and read and modify its contents whenever necessary by saving off an application based secured bookmark. The application can function without the drive attached and having access to that bookmarked folder. However, if the drive was unattached and my application was running, I would like to have the ability to detect when that drive was reattached so that the application could perform any needed operations related to that folder. On macOS someone can potentially effect this kind of functionality by accessing the notification center for NSWorkspace and registering for the NSWorkspaceDidMountNotification to know that a device has been mounted. Then they can check to see if that is the desired device they want to monitor. I’m wondering how someone could possibly effect this same kind of behavior f

This is not question, this is message to iPadOS team.
Great what you did in iPadOS 16, this is a giant step towards bigger major updates, what we want now in iPadOS 17 is the following: 1- We want a “terminal” system on the iPad with the ability to use it in programming and development, and allow applications to access it in order to create professional IDE copies for the iPad. 2- We hope to have a copy of one of the professional programs on Mac, such as F CUT PRO or XCODE. 3- Improving the stage manager further to become more effective and more real. 4- Take advantage of the empty top space that lies between the battery charge number and the watch, so that there are larger items that we can take advantage of such as a Mac, or even something better than a Mac. We want you to wow us with the iPadOS 17 update. Good luck..

Virtual Display for iOS/iPadOS
Hi, is there an API call for iOS/iPadOS which will create an additional virtual extension display. From where I can get the FrameBuffer from the Graphic Memory? Just like if I connect my iPad to an external screen via HMDI/USB-C-adapter. Or is that only an OS-functionality? BR David

UI testing UIKeyCommands on iPadOS
Is there a way to write tests that verify behavior of an iPadOS (non-Catalyst) app upon pressing one of the keys associated with UIKeyCommands? typeText throws the neither element nor any descendant has keyboard focus error, which makes sense since these keys are not meant to be typed into a text field. typeKey(_:modifierFlags:) isn't available according to Xcode. Anything else that I can try? Thank you.

Issues with Multipeer Connectivity on iPadOS 17.4
Hello! We have an app that runs on two iPads, in two different modes, that communicate with one another using Apple's Multipeer Connectivity APIs. Last week, after upgrading to iPadOS 17.4 we have had MANY customer reports of erratic connectivity, only on iPadOS 17.4. The iPads connect for 30 seconds to a minute, disconnect, reconnect for a short time again, and repeat. Most of our customers are school districts who likely employee an MDM and we are working on verification of that in order to reproduce the issue in-house. Were there changes to the MPC framework in iPadOS 17.4 that could be causing sessions to be dropped? Are you aware of any interaction with device management software that could cause this?
