I’m using a 9th gen iPad, updated iPadOS 26 a few weeks ago, but I can’t use the 3D background, can’t find any way to use the 3D background. Is it a system issue or is it my iPad’s issue?

I have developed an application for iOS and iPadOS in Swift using Storyboards. In iOS the application needs to restrict some views to display in portrait and others to display only in landscape. On iPadOS all views must display only in landscape. In general this all works fine. The one issue I’m having at the moment is that, for some reason, the launch screen on iPadOS always insists in coming up with portrait orientation regardless of the orientation of the iPad device. When the iPhone is in portrait the launch screen appears in portrait, and when the iPhone is in landscape the launch screen will appear in landscape. What could be causing this to happen for iPadOS, and what could be done that will cause the launch screen to display in landscape?

I've been working on an application that runs on both iOS and iPadOS. Recently, I found a lot of new updates within iOS 13.4 where you're able to do more with indirect pointer interactions. But I'm running into an issue with trying to change the pointer style for iOS with UIPointerShape styleWithShape. Currently for iPadOS, I'm using a BezierPath to change the mouse cursor to a pointer which works, but this change doesn't work on iOS. I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this issue, or is customizing the UIPointerShape with UIPointerStyle only limited to iPadOS for the momenet. Also, I noticed by default on iPadOS (15.4.1) when a bluetooth mouse is connected the cursor appears right away. But on iOS, I have to enable Assistive Touch. Is this by design?
Hi All, Need some help from anyone our there. We released 3 apps pre 14.6 and all was approved and is on the app store as all 3 of my apps runs well on iPhone 14.5 and iPad 14.5. I have an important patient app that I have been struggling to get approved for the past 3 weeks (which coincides with the public release of 14.6). We are using Xcode 12.5.1 to compile our app. Our app installs and runs well on iPhone 14.6 (tested by Apple reviewers as well) but not on iPadOS 14.6. I checked our Xcode, and it says this 12.5.1 version only supports iPadOS 14.5. Hence, when we compile using 12.5.1 to 14.6, it installs well on iPhone and works smoothly on iPhone but when I try to install the same app on iPad 14.6, it doesn't install. We tried everything but nothing works. I am assuming it is the Xcode version 12.5.1. I can't find any Xcode updates which will support iPad OS 14.6. We are completely lost and not sure if we are doing something wrong or if Xcode 12.5.1 version really doesn't support iPadOS
How to Support Menu Bar Copy/Paste/Cut/Delete Commands on iPadOS with SwiftUI? (Xcode 26 beta 4, iPadOS 26 beta 4) We’re working on adding menu bar support to our SwiftUI app on iPadOS, aiming to provide a more consistent and productive experience across platforms. However, we’ve encountered a challenge when trying to handle standard editing commands like Copy, Cut, Paste, and Delete from the menu bar: On iPadOS, SwiftUI modifiers such as onCopyCommand, onCutCommand, onPasteCommand, and onDeleteCommand appear to be unavailable. Additionally, since we can’t hide or override the default app menus, we’re unsure how to hook into or replace their behavior effectively. Question: What’s the recommended way to support standard editing actions like copy/paste via the menu bar in SwiftUI on iPadOS? Are there any workarounds or APIs we might have overlooked? Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated! Feedback ID: FB18792279
Hi, I'm using Whirlyglobe on iPad and iPhone and it worked fine so far until now. I upgraded to Xcode15, and now I have issues displaying the globe on my iPad. iPhone works without issues, but iPad throws the following error and doesn't display the globe anymore: Execution of the command buffer was aborted due to an error during execution. Ignored (for causing prior/excessive GPU errors) (00000004:kIOGPUCommandBufferCallbackErrorSubmissionsIgnored) When I deploy with Xcode14.3.1, everything works fine. All systems MacOS and iPadOS, and iOS are updated to the latest versions, and I'm using MBP Max M1 any idea how to solve the issue? I guess it has to do with Metal... ?! thanks in advance, M.
Hello there, Does Scribble on iPadOS 14 support languages other than English? I tried switching to the Korean keyboard and when I write, it tries to convert to the English characters. If not currently, does Apple plan on supporting other languages for Scribble in the future? I think that would be a great addition. Thank you.
On iPadOS 26, dragging my draggable() View near the edge of the screen is causing a new window to open. This doesn't happen with .onDrag on iPadOS 26, or with either .draggable() or .onDrag on iPadOS 18.5. This is not something I'm intending to offer in my app, and doesn't really make sense. Is there any way to prevent this from happening? Is this a bug? I couldn't find any new documentation. The thing being dragged: the Font rectangle on the right side of the screen, which represents an item in my app that is reorder-able when multiple are present.
How to Enable or Customize Undo/Redo Menu Items on iPadOS Menu Bar in SwiftUI? (Xcode 26 beta 4, iPadOS 26 beta 4) We’re working on adding menu bar support to our SwiftUI app on iPadOS, aiming to provide a more consistent and productive experience across platforms. Our app is a unified iPad/macOS app that uses UndoManager to support undo/redo operations. However, we’ve run into the following issues: On macOS, undo and redo work as expected via the menu bar. On iPadOS, the Undo and Redo menu items are always disabled, even though the functionality works within the app. We also explored the possibility of hiding the system-generated Undo/Redo menu items so we could provide custom implementations—but couldn’t find a way to remove or override them. Question: Is there a recommended approach to enable or customize the Undo/Redo menu bar items on iPadOS using SwiftUI? Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated! Hey there, I updated to the iPadOS 18 developer beta on my iPad 9th generation the other day when it released. It started restarting my device after a few minutes of using any app, and now it just boot loops. I’m just wondering if there’s any fix for this or if my iPad is just bricked now.
During authentication flow in Safari, we have a case when in order to satisfy a condition policy, user needs to install the app on his device. Depending on the OS, we ask him to install different applications. Since on iPadOS User Agent in Safari is same as on MacOS Catalina, what is recommened way to distinguish OS on server side?iPadOS:Safari: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/13.0 Safari/605.1.15MacOS Catalina:Safari: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/75.0.3770.100 Safari/537.36
After my iPad 6 upgrades from iOS 17.3 to 17.4, the AVCaptureMetadataOutput delegate is not called anymore. I find there is the same problem in a stackoverflow post: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/78128010/ipados-17-4-avcapturemetadataoutput-delegate-not-called-qrscanner An Apple webpage said the QR code scanning issue is fixed in iPadOS 17.4.1: If your iPad is unable to scan QR codes after updating to iPadOS 17.4 - Apple Support - https://support.apple.com/en-lamr/118614 That's true, I confirm that on my iPad 6. But, unfortunately, iPadOS 17.4.1 does fix ONLY QR code scanning! It doesn't fix barcode scanning, like PDF 417 Happening on iPad (7th Generation) iPad (6th Generation) iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2nd Generation) iPad Pro 10.5-inch
