Core Data not returning results in ShieldConfiguration Extension, but works fine in other extensions
Hi everyone, I’m using Core Data in several extensions (DeviceActivityMonitor, ShieldAction, and ShieldConfiguration). It works perfectly in DeviceActivityMonitor and ShieldAction. I’m able to successfully fetch data and log the correct count using a fetch request. However, when I try the same setup in the ShieldConfiguration extension, the fetch request always returns 0 results. The CoreData and App Group setup appears to be correct since the first two extensions fetch the expected data. I’ve also previously tested storing the CoreData objects separately in a JSON-FIle using FileManager and it worked without issues—though I’d prefer not to handle manual encoding/decoding if possible. The documentation mentions that the extension runs in a sandbox, restricting network requests or moving sensitive content. But shouldn’t reading data (from a shared App Group, for instance) still be possible within the sandbox, as it is the case with the Files, what is the difference there? In my case, I only need to read the data, as modifications can be handled via ShieldActionExtension. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

ShieldConfiguration does not update when token is moved from one store to another (while app in foreground)
Hello fellow Screen Time Fans! I am encountering a strange problem since I started working with the Screen Time framework, and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong: Imagine the app has two ManagedSettingsStores: one to block apps during work hours (let’s say from 9am to 5pm) and one to block apps in the evening (let’s say from 5:30pm till midnight). Imagine, the user has blocked Instagram in both. When the user has Instagram open at 4:59pm it shows the Block during Work Hours Shield (so far, so good). At 5pm, the shield is removed, and the user can use Instagram. Then, at 5:30 the a shield is activated again: this time, the Instagram token is added to the evening store. However, there is no new ShieldConfiguration requested from the ShieldConfigurationDataSource. Instead, the previous shield from the work hour block is re-used and shown. To me, it appears that the Framework does not request new shields, when the token is moved from one store to another while the app remains in foreground. The Shield is only re-rendered when the user closes the shielded app and re-opens it. This is really confusing behavior and I would like to fix it. Did anyone here encounter something similar, and has a suggestion or workaround? My feedback is also documented in FB14237883.

Difficulty blocking and scheduling with the Screen Time API
Hello, I'm currently facing some technical difficulties in implementing features related to application restrictions using the ScreenTime API. In our app, we allow users to set up restrictions for specific apps and app categories, with scheduled times and days (for example, Mondays and Thursdays, from 2pm to 5pm). The blocking sessions must run independently and simultaneously, allowing different sets of applications to be restricted at different times. However, I ran into two main problems: 1. Applying restrictions in the DeviceActivityMonitor extension: Although I can enable and disable restrictions, I haven't found an effective way to apply multiple FamilyActivitySelections directly in the DeviceActivityMonitor extension. The extension has to manage different blocking sessions independently, restricting different sets of applications and categories simultaneously or separately. With this configuration, I can only have one blocking session active at a time, and when it is deactivated, all restrictions are removed. I tried using different ManagedSettingsStore instances, each named individually, but without success. 2. Problems with scheduling restrictions: Currently, when setting up scheduled monitoring via DeviceActivitySchedule, the restrictions are activated immediately, ignoring the specific times scheduled (e.g. starting at 2pm and ending at 5pm). I need the schedule to work correctly, applying the restrictions only during the defined periods. Alternatively, I've considered running a background task that checks whether active sessions (up to a maximum of 3) should apply the restrictions at that time, but I'm still looking for a more suitable solution. In view of these challenges, I would like some guidance on the following points: What would be the best way to configure the DeviceActivityMonitor extension to receive and apply different FamilyActivitySelections, ensuring that the blocking sessions are independent and can run simultaneously? Is there a recommended approach to ensure that restrictions scheduled via DeviceActivitySchedule are applied and removed according to the times and days defined by the user, ensuring that applications are restricted only during the scheduled periods?

Deleting a message on Apple Watch is now deleting messages on iPhone
Can someone confirm this is supposed to be happening after all these years. I have noticed that now when I delete the messages from my Apple Watch (IOS11) they are now deleting from my phone (IOS18). I was glad I noticed and was able to recover them but I almost lost some impoRyan messages. I did do a test and confirm this is true. But the question is, is this supposed to be happening and if so is there a way to disable only this sync? I like to try and keep the messages icon on the watch clean since when I read the messag on my phone it does sync read on the watch and leaves the unread number on the icon.

Shielding .all(except: ) unexpected behavior
Hi everyone, I’m encountering an issue with shield.applicationCategories = .all(except: applications.applicationTokens) when trying to shield all apps except a specified few. Despite using this configuration, all apps are getting shielded, including those that should be exempt. I’ve verified that the correct applicationTokens are being used and ensured that there are no conflicting schedules that might override this configuration. Interestingly, the ShieldConfiguration appears for the apps that are supposed to be blocked, but not for the ones in the exception list. Has anyone else experienced this issue, or does anyone have insights into what might be causing this behavior? Thanks in advance!

Checking Equality of ApplicationToken Instances in Swift
Hi everyone, I'm working on a Swift application and trying to determine whether an application has exceeded its limit based on an ApplicationToken. I have the following function to check if the current app's token matches any of the tokens stored when the app limit is reached: private func isAppLimitExceeded(for application: Application?) -> Bool { guard let application = application, let appToken = application.token else { return false } let exceededTokens = configManager.getAppLimitExceededTokens() return exceededTokens.contains { exceededToken in appToken == exceededToken } } The function configManager.getAppLimitExceededTokens() returns a list of [ApplicationToken] that were saved in UserDefaults when an app limit is reached. The goal is to use the isAppLimitExceeded method to verify if the current shield for the app is triggered due to a limit/threshold being exceeded. This function is part of a class that conforms to the ShieldConfigurationDataSource protocol: class ShieldConfigurationExtension: ShieldConfigurationDataSource { // ... } My concern is whether comparing two ApplicationToken instances using == is a reliable method for determining if they are equal. Are ApplicationToken objects guaranteed to be comparable with == out of the box, or do I need to implement Equatable or another method of comparison? Could there be issues with tokens stored in UserDefaults not matching due to reference or serialization differences? Any guidance on how to ensure proper comparison of these tokens would be appreciated! Thanks!

ShieldConfiguration not updating when app is open prior to the shield activating
Hello! I believe there is a bug: ShieldConfigurationDataSource extension does not update when the app to be blocked is already open and the ManagedSettingsStore.shield.applications is set to the app that is already open. The shield comes up but has a stale ShieldConfiguration not reflecting the current state of the app is used. I've been able to replicate the issue in an independent app "OffScreen". If you start a blocking time range from 10:00-10:15, it will say "No Twitter until 10:15" and then open Twitter at 10:15. If there is another blocking time range from 10:16-10:31, the app will be open until 10:16 when the shield will reactivate and it will still say "No Twitter until 10:15" when is should say "No Twitter until 10:31". thanks!

Do we need a server to use the Screen Time API?
I want to create an app to control a child's device. As I understand it, I need to follow this logic: I have one app for both the child and the parent. For the child, I request authorization with the following code: try await AuthorizationCenter.shared.requestAuthorization(for: .child) For the parent, I show functions like: familyActivityPicker Are these settings automatically applied to the child's device, or do I need to send a silent push notification to apply the new settings? Additionally, how can I get statistics from the child's device to the parent's device?

Can you call the ManagedSettings framework from your main app?
I am working on a screen time app that helps individuals shield distracting apps and web content. Assuming one is granted the Family Controls entitlement and a user accepts the Family Controls authorization request, can you call the ManagedSettings framework from your main app? Is this framework only allowed to be used within the context of a Device Activity Monitor Extension? I'm unsure if this type of usage will result in an instant rejection from App Review?

Device Activity Monitor Extension behaves randomly - any idea?
Hello, I'm working on an app that makes use of Screen Time features by leveraging the Family Controls, Device Activity and Managed Settings frameworks. The main app works fine by shielding/unshielding apps with a toggle. When it comes to monitoring the time intervals with the Device Activity Monitor (DAM) extension (e.g. lock X apps for Y minutes), I'm experiencing several issues. To check whether the DAM extension is running or not, I attach to the extension process manually (Product > Attach to Process by PID or Name). But I can see the extension correctly running only after 3-4 attempts of calling startMonitoring. Even when the DAM extension runs, intervalDidStart and intervalDidEnd methods in the extension are called quite randomly - most of the times not being called at all - thus making the extension hugely unaffordable. Please note: I already ask for Screen Time permissions during the onboarding by calling AuthorizationCenter.shared.requestAuthorization(for: .individual), so by the time the user shields the apps, these permissions are already granted. I already have Family Control entitlements for development and distribution, and for both the main target and the DAM extension target. In the intervalDidEnd method, I simply call ManagedSettingsStore().clearAllSettings() and DeviceActivityCenter().stopMonitoring(). This looks like to be enough to stay way below the 6MB memory limit. Am I doing something wrong, is there a way to fix this, or is just the Device Activity framework that is unstable?

ShieldActionDelegate uses a different webDomain than the one I shielded
I shield a web domain picked by users like this (discouragedSelections is an instance of FamilyActivitySelection() btw) : let webDomainTokens = discouragedSelections.webDomainTokens store.shield.webDomains = webDomainTokens The domain is correcly shielded and I can see the restricted screen when I access it via Safari. When I tap on the main button of that restricted view, I receive a different token than the one I got from .webDomainTokens from the code above. Application Tokens from Bundle Identifier
Hello! I've been doing a lot of work with ApplicationTokens, but there is very little documentation. While Apple gives you the FamilyAcitvitiesPicker to get tokens of apps on an iPhone, I need to get the tokens of apps that aren't on the phone. Example: Someone can select Instagram even though they don't have it downloaded. Then the application token will get sent to a server. Then a different person who does have Instagram on their phone will receive the token and it will do something with that application. Because FamilyActivitiesPicker can only select apps on the iPhone that it is running on, FamilyActivitiesPicker is useless to me, leading to my problem: Creating an ApplicationToken without FamilyActivitiesPicker This documentation says that I can create an Application (and thus an ApplicationToken) from the bundle identifier init(bundleIdentifier: String) Creates an object that represents the app with the specified bundle identifier. However, when I try to use this to get instagrams(or any apps) token, it returns nil every time! So, finally, my questions: How do I correctly use this initializer to create an ApplicationToken? Or, if this won't work for my purposes Are the ApplicationTokens created by FamilyActivitiesPicker the same across all devices no matter what?

Shield Customisation Not Applying
Hi, I've been attempting to implement a customised shield based on the WWDC contents and documentation; however, while my configuration appears correct only the default "Restricted - You cannot use X app because it's restricted" ever displays. Using core data in ShieldConfigurationExtension
Hi there, In short, I'm trying to use CoreData in my ShieldConfigurationDataSource extension. Trying to fetch from core data at all seems to cause the shield to render it's default look. I already added the extension to an app group + configured my persistence store to use the app group. How does the threshold in DeviceActivityEvent work
Hey everyone, I'm working on implementing an AppLimit, where after accumulating x minutes of Screen Time for an app, it should be blocked. It works fine on the first day, but stops functioning correctly on subsequent days. What I'm Doing I start a 24/7 schedule with a DeviceActivityEvent that has a specified Screen Time threshold. In my DeviceActivityMonitor, I'm reacting to the eventDidReachThreshold. Once the accumulated time is reached, the app is blocked. This works as expected on the first day. Issues I'm Experiencing / Questions Second Day Issue: On the second day, the app is no longer blocked after the Screen Time threshold is reached, even though it worked on the first day. This leads me to suspect that a DeviceActivityEvent is "consumable". Is this correct? Pre-existing Screen Time Issue: If a user has already surpassed the Screen Time threshold before monitoring starts, the app isn't blocked once the schedule is set up. This leads to 2 issues: I would expect that the accumulated amount of time after starting the schedule would result in the call of eventDidReachThreshold. But it is never called It could also be the case that the previously accumulated time is being kept in mind, but that would mean the apps should be blocked, which isn't the case. Does the threshold account for accumulated Screen Time before the schedule begins? I haven't tested setting a limit of 10 minutes, accumulating 3 minutes of Screen Time, then starting the schedule and accumulating the remaining time, but I'm curious if anyone has encountered this behavior. Does anyone have an explanation for this behavior? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

FamilyActivityPicker on Simulator not populating apps.
I'm looking to make an app using the ScreenTime API and the Managed Settings Framework. I'm experimenting with the FamilyActivityPicker, but when i open it from the simulator i see only categories with no applications. Without being able to select applications, i cannot test properly the app. I can't install it on a real device to test it because i do not have a paid Apple Developer account and therefore can't access the capability if i select my Free Developer Account in order to install it on my iPhone.

Best way to pause DeviceActivitySchedule
Hi everyone, I'm currently working with the Screen Time API, specifically trying to figure out the best way to pause an active, repeating schedule without disrupting future schedules. Here's the scenario: I have a repeating schedule set from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily. If I need to pause the schedule temporarily, my current approach involves stopping monitoring, clearing all restrictions, and then setting a new schedule for the remaining time after the pause. However, this method cancels the repeating schedule entirely, which causes issues when the schedule is supposed to restart the next day at 10:00 AM. Instead, it starts after the pause time, which isn’t what I want. Challenges I'm Facing: Maintaining Repeating Schedules: How can I pause the schedule in a way that ensures it resumes correctly the next day at the intended time (10:00 AM)? DeviceActivityMonitor Logic: Is there a way to deactivate and reactivate the schedule through the DeviceActivityMonitor without fully stopping the monitoring? Ideally, I'd like to retain the original schedule, pause it, and then resume it seamlessly after the pause. What I’ve Tried So Far: I’ve attempted to store the necessary data in the App Groups shared container as a local file. In the DeviceActivityMonitor, I used the schedule's name to identify and retrieve the saved object, planning to use this data to reapply the shielding after the pause. Unfortunately, this approach exceeds the 6MB memory limit of the extension, which is another roadblock. Given these issues, I’m unsure how to move forward. Are there any best practices or alternative approaches that could help manage this situation more effectively? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Difficulty blocking and scheduling with the Screen Time API
Hello, I'm currently facing some technical difficulties in implementing features related to application restrictions using the ScreenTime API. In our app, we allow users to set up restrictions for specific apps and app categories, with scheduled times and days (for example, Mondays and Thursdays, from 2pm to 5pm). The blocking sessions must run independently and simultaneously, allowing different sets of applications to be restricted at different times. However, I ran into two main problems: 1. Applying restrictions in the DeviceActivityMonitor extension: Although I can enable and disable restrictions, I haven't found an effective way to apply multiple FamilyActivitySelections directly in the DeviceActivityMonitor extension. The extension has to manage different blocking sessions independently, restricting different sets of applications and categories simultaneously or separately. With this configuration, I can only have one blocking session active at a time, and when it is deactivated, all restrictions are removed. I tried using different ManagedSettingsStore instances, each named individually, but without success. 2. Problems with scheduling restrictions: Currently, when setting up scheduled monitoring via DeviceActivitySchedule, the restrictions are activated immediately, ignoring the specific times scheduled (e.g. starting at 2pm and ending at 5pm). I need the schedule to work correctly, applying the restrictions only during the defined periods. Alternatively, I've considered running a background task that checks whether active sessions (up to a maximum of 3) should apply the restrictions at that time, but I'm still looking for a more suitable solution. In view of these challenges, I would like some guidance on the following points: What would be the best way to configure the DeviceActivityMonitor extension to receive and apply different FamilyActivitySelections, ensuring that the blocking sessions are independent and can run simultaneously? Is there a recommended approach to ensure that restrictions scheduled via DeviceActivitySchedule are applied and removed according to the times and days defined by the user, ensuring that applications are restricted only during the scheduled periods?

Deleting a message on Apple Watch is now deleting messages on iPhone
Can someone confirm this is supposed to be happening after all these years. I have noticed that now when I delete the messages from my Apple Watch (IOS11) they are now deleting from my phone (IOS18). I was glad I noticed and was able to recover them but I almost lost some impoRyan messages. I did do a test and confirm this is true. But the question is, is this supposed to be happening and if so is there a way to disable only this sync? I like to try and keep the messages icon on the watch clean since when I read the messag on my phone it does sync read on the watch and leaves the unread number on the icon.

Shielding .all(except: ) unexpected behavior
Hi everyone, I’m encountering an issue with shield.applicationCategories = .all(except: applications.applicationTokens) when trying to shield all apps except a specified few. Despite using this configuration, all apps are getting shielded, including those that should be exempt. I’ve verified that the correct applicationTokens are being used and ensured that there are no conflicting schedules that might override this configuration. Interestingly, the ShieldConfiguration appears for the apps that are supposed to be blocked, but not for the ones in the exception list. Has anyone else experienced this issue, or does anyone have insights into what might be causing this behavior? Thanks in advance!

Checking Equality of ApplicationToken Instances in Swift
Hi everyone, I'm working on a Swift application and trying to determine whether an application has exceeded its limit based on an ApplicationToken. I have the following function to check if the current app's token matches any of the tokens stored when the app limit is reached: private func isAppLimitExceeded(for application: Application?) -> Bool { guard let application = application, let appToken = application.token else { return false } let exceededTokens = configManager.getAppLimitExceededTokens() return exceededTokens.contains { exceededToken in appToken == exceededToken } } The function configManager.getAppLimitExceededTokens() returns a list of [ApplicationToken] that were saved in UserDefaults when an app limit is reached. The goal is to use the isAppLimitExceeded method to verify if the current shield for the app is triggered due to a limit/threshold being exceeded. This function is part of a class that conforms to the ShieldConfigurationDataSource protocol: class ShieldConfigurationExtension: ShieldConfigurationDataSource { // ... } My concern is whether comparing two ApplicationToken instances using == is a reliable method for determining if they are equal. Are ApplicationToken objects guaranteed to be comparable with == out of the box, or do I need to implement Equatable or another method of comparison? Could there be issues with tokens stored in UserDefaults not matching due to reference or serialization differences? ShieldConfiguration not updating when app is open prior to the shield activating
Hello! I believe there is a bug: ShieldConfigurationDataSource extension does not update when the app to be blocked is already open and the ManagedSettingsStore.shield.applications is set to the app that is already open. The shield comes up but has a stale ShieldConfiguration not reflecting the current state of the app is used. I've been able to replicate the issue in an independent app "OffScreen". If you start a blocking time range from 10:00-10:15, it will say "No Twitter until 10:15" and then open Twitter at 10:15. If there is another blocking time range from 10:16-10:31, the app will be open until 10:16 when the shield will reactivate and it will still say "No Twitter until 10:15" when is should say "No Twitter until 10:31". thanks!

Do we need a server to use the Screen Time API?
I want to create an app to control a child's device. As I understand it, I need to follow this logic: I have one app for both the child and the parent. For the child, I request authorization with the following code: try await AuthorizationCenter.shared.requestAuthorization(for: .child) For the parent, I show functions like: familyActivityPicker Are these settings automatically applied to the child's device, or do I need to send a silent push notification to apply the new settings? Additionally, how can I get statistics from the child's device to the parent's device?

Can you call the ManagedSettings framework from your main app?
I am working on a screen time app that helps individuals shield distracting apps and web content. Assuming one is granted the Family Controls entitlement and a user accepts the Family Controls authorization request, can you call the ManagedSettings framework from your main app? Is this framework only allowed to be used within the context of a Device Activity Monitor Extension? I'm unsure if this type of usage will result in an instant rejection from App Review?

Device Activity Monitor Extension behaves randomly - any idea?
Hello, I'm working on an app that makes use of Screen Time features by leveraging the Family Controls, Device Activity and Managed Settings frameworks. The main app works fine by shielding/unshielding apps with a toggle. When it comes to monitoring the time intervals with the Device Activity Monitor (DAM) extension (e.g. lock X apps for Y minutes), I'm experiencing several issues. To check whether the DAM extension is running or not, I attach to the extension process manually (Product > Attach to Process by PID or Name). But I can see the extension correctly running only after 3-4 attempts of calling startMonitoring. Even when the DAM extension runs, intervalDidStart and intervalDidEnd methods in the extension are called quite randomly - most of the times not being called at all - thus making the extension hugely unaffordable. Please note: I already ask for Screen Time permissions during the onboarding by calling AuthorizationCenter.shared.requestAuthorization(for: .individual), so by the time the user shields the apps, these permissions are already granted. I already have Family Control entitlements for development and distribution, and for both the main target and the DAM extension target. In the intervalDidEnd method, I simply call ManagedSettingsStore().clearAllSettings() and DeviceActivityCenter().stopMonitoring(). This looks like to be enough to stay way below the 6MB memory limit. Am I doing something wrong, is there a way to fix this, or is just the Device Activity framework that is unstable?

ShieldActionDelegate uses a different webDomain than the one I shielded
I shield a web domain picked by users like this (discouragedSelections is an instance of FamilyActivitySelection() btw) : let webDomainTokens = discouragedSelections.webDomainTokens store.shield.webDomains = webDomainTokens The domain is correcly shielded and I can see the restricted screen when I access it via Safari. When I tap on the main button of that restricted view, I receive a different token than the one I got from .webDomainTokens from the code above. Application Tokens from Bundle Identifier
Hello! I've been doing a lot of work with ApplicationTokens, but there is very little documentation. While Apple gives you the FamilyAcitvitiesPicker to get tokens of apps on an iPhone, I need to get the tokens of apps that aren't on the phone. Example: Someone can select Instagram even though they don't have it downloaded. Then the application token will get sent to a server. Then a different person who does have Instagram on their phone will receive the token and it will do something with that application. Because FamilyActivitiesPicker can only select apps on the iPhone that it is running on, FamilyActivitiesPicker is useless to me, leading to my problem: Creating an ApplicationToken without FamilyActivitiesPicker This documentation says that I can create an Application (and thus an ApplicationToken) from the bundle identifier init(bundleIdentifier: String) Creates an object that represents the app with the specified bundle identifier. However, when I try to use this to get instagrams(or any apps) token, it returns nil every time! So, finally, my questions: How do I correctly use this initializer to create an ApplicationToken? Or, if this won't work for my purposes Are the ApplicationTokens created by FamilyActivitiesPicker the same across all devices no matter what?

My app correctly applies the ShieldConfiguration template that I chose (icon, text, CTA, etc), but some users reported seeing the following default shield: With the default shield text that reads, "You cannot use AppName because it is restricted." Any idea why?

Using core data in ShieldConfigurationExtension
Hi there, In short, I'm trying to use CoreData in my ShieldConfigurationDataSource extension. Trying to fetch from core data at all seems to cause the shield to render it's default look. I already added the extension to an app group + configured my persistence store to use the app group. How does the threshold in DeviceActivityEvent work
Hey everyone, I'm working on implementing an AppLimit, where after accumulating x minutes of Screen Time for an app, it should be blocked. It works fine on the first day, but stops functioning correctly on subsequent days. What I'm Doing I start a 24/7 schedule with a DeviceActivityEvent that has a specified Screen Time threshold. In my DeviceActivityMonitor, I'm reacting to the eventDidReachThreshold. Once the accumulated time is reached, the app is blocked. This works as expected on the first day. Issues I'm Experiencing / Questions Second Day Issue: On the second day, the app is no longer blocked after the Screen Time threshold is reached, even though it worked on the first day. This leads me to suspect that a DeviceActivityEvent is "consumable". Is this correct? Pre-existing Screen Time Issue: If a user has already surpassed the Screen Time threshold before monitoring starts, the app isn't blocked once the schedule is set up. This leads to 2 issues: I would expect that the accumulated amount of time after starting the schedule would result in the call of eventDidReachThreshold. But it is never called It could also be the case that the previously accumulated time is being kept in mind, but that would mean the apps should be blocked, which isn't the case. Does the threshold account for accumulated Screen Time before the schedule begins? I haven't tested setting a limit of 10 minutes, accumulating 3 minutes of Screen Time, then starting the schedule and accumulating the remaining time, but I'm curious if anyone has encountered this behavior. Does anyone have an explanation for this behavior? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

FamilyActivityPicker on Simulator not populating apps.
I'm looking to make an app using the ScreenTime API and the Managed Settings Framework. I'm experimenting with the FamilyActivityPicker, but when i open it from the simulator i see only categories with no applications. Without being able to select applications, i cannot test properly the app. I can't install it on a real device to test it because i do not have a paid Apple Developer account and therefore can't access the capability if i select my Free Developer Account in order to install it on my iPhone.

Best way to pause DeviceActivitySchedule
Hi everyone, I'm currently working with the Screen Time API, specifically trying to figure out the best way to pause an active, repeating schedule without disrupting future schedules. Here's the scenario: I have a repeating schedule set from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily. If I need to pause the schedule temporarily, my current approach involves stopping monitoring, clearing all restrictions, and then setting a new schedule for the remaining time after the pause. However, this method cancels the repeating schedule entirely, which causes issues when the schedule is supposed to restart the next day at 10:00 AM. Instead, it starts after the pause time, which isn’t what I want. Challenges I'm Facing: Maintaining Repeating Schedules: How can I pause the schedule in a way that ensures it resumes correctly the next day at the intended time (10:00 AM)? DeviceActivityMonitor Logic: Is there a way to deactivate and reactivate the schedule through the DeviceActivityMonitor without fully stopping the monitoring? Ideally, I'd like to retain the original schedule, pause it, and then resume it seamlessly after the pause. What I’ve Tried So Far: I’ve attempted to store the necessary data in the App Groups shared container as a local file. In the DeviceActivityMonitor, I used the schedule's name to identify and retrieve the saved object, planning to use this data to reapply the shielding after the pause. Unfortunately, this approach exceeds the 6MB memory limit of the extension, which is another roadblock. Given these issues, I’m unsure how to move forward. Are there any best practices or alternative approaches that could help manage this situation more effectively? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
