Hi all. So, I built the platform SSO extension on a demo server I created and everything ran smoothly. I get the tokens at the end of the process. Now, I want to use the tokens when I trigger my SSO extension in my domain from Safari. I trigger my domain, get into the beginAuthorization method, get the request.loginManager?.ssoTokens and then want to return them to Safari by calling the request.complete method. But, no matter what complete method I call (complete(httpResponse: HTTPURLResponse, httpBody: Data?) or complete(httpAuthorizationHeaders: [String : String]) where I insert the Bearer token into the Authorization header, it will not drill down to Safari or my server. The headers I try to send back are not moving from the extension to Safari. Some knows why its happening? Thank you for any help or suggestion.

On Safari, when using the column-count CSS property to split text into multiple columns, I've noticed that when applying a text-shadow, there is an unexpected whitespace created above all subsequent columns. On my M3 MacBook Pro 14'' laptop, when using Safari responsive design mode I cannot see any simulators when choosing "Open With Simulator". I am on the latest Sequoia 15.1 and Xcode version is 16.1. However when I successfully run a simulator from Xcode (Developer Tools -> Simulator) I can see the simulator running in the "Open With Simulator" dropdown but I cannot click it to run it with my safari desktop. I can never link my desktop safari app to a simulator. I feel I have read almost every how to blog but have no more options left to get this working. I've tried reinstalling Xcode and the iOS 18.1 environment on it, updating safari and anything else that might be out of date but still with no luck after much restarting programs and my machine. Is there another way to try and run a simulator from Safari?

Hello everyone, I’m working on adding a Safari extension as an application extension to an iOS app created using Capacitor (generated from a React app). My goal is to bundle the Safari extension within the Capacitor app, allowing it to serve as a companion app for the extension. However, I’ve run into issues where the extension does not show up in Safari's extension settings when I run the app on a device or simulator. Here's an overview of what I’ve done so far: I initially used Capacitor’s command line tools to generate the iOS app from my React project. This app runs fine on its own. To add the Safari extension, I’m not developing a platform-specific extension from scratch; instead, I used the Xcode command line to convert a Chrome extension to a Safari iOS extension. The converted extension functions correctly if paired with the default Swift app that comes with the conversion. Right now, I effectively have two products: The base Capacitor app (without the extension), which I want as my main app. The standalone Safari extension bundled with the Swift app (from the conversion process). My question is: How can I merge these two products so that the Capacitor app becomes the companion app for the Safari extension, allowing the extension to show up in Safari's settings? Are there specific configurations I should adjust in Xcode or within the manifest files to make this work seamlessly? I was able to setup a release test for an iOS app for distribution using a web server. It works perfectly fine for all the devices I registered for the deployment profile. However every time I try to distribute a Unity based Vision Pro application using the same process for building the package and set up for distribution it does not work. Safari only shows a message telling me: "Cannot connect to ." When trying to install the iOS app from the same server it shows the message "Do you want to install ?" and installation completes correctly. My iOS is a simple hello world app generated by Xcode. My Unity app is an AR app targeting com.apple.platform.xros. According to documentation there should not be any difference in deployment profiles/signing for iOS apps vs. visionOS apps. What am I doing wrong? Any hint is appreciated how to continue.

The specification states that the timestamp property is a DOMHighResTimeStamp which always represents a value in milliseconds. However, in my testing (on iOS as I don't have a mac) the timestamp is given as seconds. This could break compatibility if an app/library is not tested in Safari. Worse is that the deviation seems to be undocumented as every compatibility chart states full compatibility and defines the property as milliseconds. Any workaround would also be up to one frame incorrect. So a stutter can affect input accuracy. I know this might seem small but it could mean that an app or game is unplayable in Safari if it relies on this for input.

Starting Safari 18, Declarative Net Request redirections are no longer working (it used to be working on Safari 17). It seems to be related to the regex validation that is not working as expected. Hi, iOS 18.1 Safari 18 does not play HLS/.m3u8 audio tracks (while all previous iOS Safari still do). If I turn on the Web Inspector toggle and put it on, restart Safari/ refresh the page, the player works. Before filing a bug, are you already aware of such behavior or some way to deal with it?

iPhone 15pro iOS 18.2 Downloaded files cannot be located anywhere in Files, only by accessing Downloads in Safari. I have tried setting download folder to various locations, iCloud, Phone, Google Disk, but nothing is stored. Has an invisible cache or temp folder been introduced? If so, it is a total fail: When press-holding any file in Safari download, the normal file action options (Quick Look, share, store to Files, etc) are not available. When clicking any file it opens any of several apps that has this file type associated with it, and there is no way to change the default app or disable the forced opening of an app. I tried deleting the app opening .csv (in this case OneDrive), and another irrelevant app opened. There seems to be a hierarchy of apps-file types, and it has no logic to it. Tips?

For clicks to register, frequently 2-3 touches are required.

I have a Safari extension which allows the user to load their own homepage upon opening a new tab. The extension works by retrieving the homepage URL from UserDefaults and then redirecting to it using window.location.replace. In iOS 18, if the homepage is unable to be loaded due to, for example the user having no internet connection, Safari will go into an rapid loading loop, which eventually stops after a while. This is unlike iOS 17, where trying to reproduce the same scenario will end up with a Safari error page, which should be the expected behaviour. In short, instead of Safari going into an infinite loading loop, it should display a Safari error page like iOS 17 does. As this issue is only happening on iOS 18, I am almost certain it's an iOS bug and would appreciate if this can be fixed as soon as possible. I have created a Feedback Assistant report with ID FB15853821, which contains a sysdiagnose file from my iPhone 16 Pro, as well as two videos, one from my iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 18.2 beta 3 and the other video showing a comparison between iOS 18 and 17. Both videos first show the extension functioning correctly with an active internet connection, but when I disable my internet, the iOS 18 Safari goes into an infinite loop. When I want legend inside the filedset, not on the border as default browsers design, I set float: left to the legend. It works in every modern browser - Safari too. The problem is when the filedset itself is set to display: flex. Float propertie of the legend is ignored. In other browsers this approach works fine and the float stays and the legend is inside of the fieldset as we expect.
