Currently I only see the right eye view when running my test app on the Vision Simulator. But to be able to evaluate if what I'm doing is actually possible on the device before buying one for developing my app I like to be able to switch between viewing the right eye and left eye in the simulator.

Problem: iOS 16.4 runtime targets are not available for selection, however the 16.4 simulator shows as installed under "Manage run destinations"
Config: Xcode 15.0, Sonoma 14.0, M1 Mac-Mini
Background: I write and maintain apps for my business unit. A co-worker dropped a phone on my desk and said 'The app doesn't work anymore, can you fix it'. Well, it turns out the phone is running iOS 16.6. The OS had been upgraded. This sent me down the path of upgrading Xcode on a development Mac, which also forced a MacOs upgrade on me. The end result is I now have XCode 15 on Sonoma, but have an iOS 16.6 device that I'm trying to target. Since I don't have any iOS 17 devices I didn't install the 17.0 runtime.
To install the "16.6 runtime" I went to: "Xcode - Settings - Platforms" and hit the + in the lower left and under "Previously released simulators" I selected iOS.
I selected iOS 16.4 as it was the closest I could see to 16.6 so I'm assuming it still works with 16.6. It took a few attempts to download correctly, but it now shows up in my platforms as "iOS 16.4 Simulator 6.18 GB on disk".
If I select "Product - Destination - Manage Run Destinations" I can see simulators for 10 different iOS devices (from iPad 10th gen to iPhone SE) all running iOS 16.4.
Great! I must be ready to develop and test for 16.6. Right?
Nope.
In the dropdown beside my App name the only option that is shown to me is "iOS 17" and the "Get" button beside it. I was expecting to my iOS 16.4 simulators as available target destinations, but there's nothing other than "iOS 17 - Get".
This is an old App that I'm maintaining so its deployment target is not new. Selecting a different iOS Deployment target doesn't have an effect.
I tried going into Manage Run Destinations and selected my iPhone 14 simulator on iOS 16.4 as "show run destination always". - no change
Older iOS version do not show as destinations.
Anyone else encounter this? Did you figure it out?

I'm experiencing an inconsistent behavior with the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt in my Cordova iOS app using the admob-plus-cordova and cordova-plugin-consent plugins.
Environment:
Cordova iOS app
Plugins: admob-plus-cordova, cordova-plugin-consent
iOS Simulator: 16.0
Physical device: iphone 12 17.5.1
Xcode version: 16.2
Issue:
The ATT permission prompt appears correctly in the iOS Simulator but fails to show on physical devices. I've verified that:
Info.plist includes NSUserTrackingUsageDescription
The ATT request is triggered before initializing AdMob
The device is running iOS 14.5 or later
Expected behavior:
ATT prompt should appear on first launch on physical devices (as it does in the simulator)
Actual behavior:
ATT prompt appears correctly in simulator [attach your screenshot]
ATT prompt never appears on physical device
Troubleshooting steps tried:
Verified app hasn't previously requested ATT permission
Confirmed tracking is enabled in device Settings -> Privacy -> Tracking
Verified implementation order (ATT request before AdMob initialization)
Any insights on why this might be happening or additional debugging steps would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Can anyone please share some information on why my Mac with apple silicon still using iOS simulator with x86_64 architecture instead of arm64 architecture.
The problem arises when I use FFMPEG frameworks, these frameworks are working on arm64, so they should work on iOS Simulator, but I get error saying these frameworks are for arm64 and Xcode/iOS simulator needs x86_64 based frameworks.
why Xcode still expects frameworks with x86_64 architecture.

I've been working on my mobile app project using Expo. Yesterday, when I tried to run the app again, the Expo Go in the iOS simulator got stuck on the screen showing "New update available, downloading..." and then crashed. I'm not sure what went wrong. It only provides a long error report. I ran an EAS build, which completed successfully, so I suspect the issue might be with the iOS simulator or Expo Go itself. Please help me out :(
I'm testing a video stream (HLS) with AVPlayer. On XCode 14.3 and simulators running iOS 16.4, there is no video image, only black screen. The audio is playing normally, also progress/duration of the video is showing as expected. The problem does not occur on same XCode version with earlier versions of the simulator. Is this a simulator bug? I've also tested it on real device with iOS 16.4 - no problem there.
I'm new to Xcode and decided to give it a try, however, I'm unable to preview even the default "hello, world" message.
I've tried downloading Xcode on the App Store on Mac and from the official website, but I couldn't go pass the "Preparing (Automatic) iPhone Simulator."
I've also tried the following line of code on Terminal, but nada:

I already asked this, although I want to ask again so it boots and gets more people; When I try to run my project on the simulator, it tells me there is a bug. It is not in the code I wrote, but I believe in the compiler. It would work perfectly, say the build succeeded, but the phone turns white and stops there. I don't know how to debunk it, what to do!

The simulator will not work. No matter How much I restart, when I open my app, it tells me either Build succeeded but I see a loading bar or a loading automatic phone simulator but it never shows up like the line would. keep going in a loop, for example this is what it looks like,

My question is:
Did you change the specs of xcodebuild -showdestinations command from the ones working in macOS Sequoia, not to show all the destinations available?
I'm trying to transfer a CSV file to my iPhone 16 simulator to use for testing my application, but it keeps failing. See the image below.
That occurs when I try to drag the file into the simulator. I also tried to use the Share option for the file, but nothing happens with that. It doesn't transfer but it also doesn't fail. I'm assuming it's failing in the background.
Anyone know what I can do?
I’m encountering an issue with the page.selectionForWord(at:) method in my application. This method has stopped working in Mac Designed for iPad mode. The functionality works fine on physical devices such as iPhone and iPad, as well as on Mac, but in this specific mode, the method no longer works, and the application crashes.
It is crucial for me that this functionality works in Mac Designed for iPad mode, as rewriting the entire code for Mac would be too time-consuming, especially considering the size of the application.
Interestingly, a similar method, page.selectionForLine(at:), works perfectly with the same parameters in all environments, including the Mac Designed for iPad mode. This makes the issue even more puzzling.
The issue began after the latest update. The app no longer responds to the page.selectionForWord(at:) method, which causes the application to crash.
I have attached a test app to reproduce the error.
When I'm inspecting a WKWebView in a simulator and the WKWebView loads a local URL with a port number, I've found that most features of Safari dev tools that worked in iOS 17 are broken in iOS 18. Here are the steps I'm taking:
Set up a WKWebView with isInspectable = true that loads a local URL, e.g. https://www.local.mydomain.com:3000
Install a self-signed SSL certificate on a simulator for www.local.mydomain.com
Run my app on the simulator
The WKWebView loads successfully
In Safari on my Mac, I can select the WKWebView and open dev tools to inspect it
If the simulator is on iOS 17, this works fine, no issues.
But if the simulator is on iOS 18, Safari dev tools are mostly broken. I can tell that there is a connection to the WKWebView because the Network tab logs the requests that I expect. But I cannot use any of the other dev tools features: Elements, Sources, Console, etc.
Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a workaround?

When launching the SimpleWatchConnectivity sample in a simulator (iOS 18.2 + watchOS 11.2), almost all the functionality works, but TransferFile does not work. The error is the following:
-[WCFileStorage persistOutgoingFileTransfer:] error serializing file transfer <WCSessionFileTransfer: ...> due to Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=4866 "Caught exception during archival: This object may only be encoded by an NSXPCCoder."
How can it be fixed or worked around?

When I used VisionPro simulator, I want to get 4K screenshots. So I choose Xcode > I/O > External Displays > 3840x2160 (4K) . After I chose, a new window appears, but the new window is a black screen. When I changed to any resolution, the new window is black.
