I keep seeing this in the Xcode when I launch my app:
-[NFCTagReaderSession beginSessionWithConfig:]:468 error:Error Domain=NFCError Code=203 "System resource unavailable" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=System resource unavailable}, errorCode: 0xcb
Initially, the device was working with NFC. Now on multiple complete restarts of my app, the System resource is still not available. If I lock the screen and reenter iOS again, the problem persists.
Rebooting the device appears to get it working again. I suspect this is only happening on iPhone 15 and iOS 18.01. My other devices I have do not exhibit the problem. I'd wager some service in the OS has crashed?
There also appears to be limitation on renewing nfc sessions. Similar problems on iPhone 16 to what I experienced on iPhone 15. I don't know what they did with iPhone 15 and 16 but the NFC has really deteriorated for longer sessions. Seems the newer Apple HW is worse at NFC than my iPhone 11. Just providing feedback.
The device also has 100% charge. Issues seem more prevalent with lower battery charge but that is not the case here.

I have been looking at the new feature in iOS 18 where it is possible to pair Matter accessories without a hub. Using the Home app I can successfully commission and control a Matter Thread Light Bulb directly (without a home hub in the network). I have an iPhone 15 Pro which includes the thread hardware.
I then tried to commission the same device in my own app using the MatterSupport framework. In this case the same user interface is displayed as when using the Home App but an error is displayed - "Thread Border Router Required."
Is it also possible to connect directly to a thread Matter device when using MatterSupport or does this only work when using the Home app?
hi
Question is in the title.. do we already know the length of the vectors?

iPadOS behavior with secondary displays is inconsistent.
Firstly, Apple has not published what is the lower limit for supporting the extended display in non-mirrored mode. In iPadOS 16.1 beta even lower resolutions were supported, but it looks like the monitor must now support at least Full HD (1920x1080). Otherwise there will only be the possibility for mirroring the iPad screen and the Arrangement menu will not be visible in iPadOS Settings. This is the case with all iPadOS versions from 16.1 to 18.2 (beta).
Secondly, even on monitors that do support Full HD or better resolution, iPadOS may still choose to only support mirroring with a strange resolution such as 1280x1024 even though 1920x1080 would be available.
I have tested with various iPad Pro 11" models from gen 1 to gen 4, various USB-C adapters, and cables. Extended display does work properly with certain monitors, but the above issues still exist on others.
I have filed feedbacks FB13576000 (Feb '24) and FB11467189 (Sep '22) on this bug. On the Support Community Forums there are a lot of users mentioning the same issues.
I recently updated both my phones iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro Max on iOS 18.1, and after update when I open camera and go to SLO-MO the screen starts flickering, even though after recoding when I play the video. Video is playing the same with the flickering screen. is it iOS update issue or something else.
We are reaching out to discuss an issue we have encountered with our app's activation process while running in the background. Currently, we are employing an iBeacon-based activation scheme, but we have noticed that after the app is activated, it is unable to receive UUID data from the scan-response while in the background.
We are considering the possibility of embedding the UUID data into the advertisement so that the app can receive it once activated by the iBeacon. Additionally, we are preparing to use both Core Bluetooth’s “Performing Long-Term Actions in the Background” feature and the iBeacon scheme simultaneously for app activation. We would like to know if these two methods can coexist without any mutual interference.
Currently, we are utilizing a method of updating the beacon advertisement after connection and disconnection to enhance the app's activation capability. However, in some scenarios where the signal is weak, the app does not detect the vehicle after being activated and will not be reactivated by the same beacon after going into sleep mode. Our current approach is to update the beacon advertisement every 10 seconds to improve this capability.
We have outlined our proposed changes and would appreciate your confirmation on whether they could lead to better optimization:
1.Embedding the UUID from the scan-response into the advertisement.
2.Updating the iBeacon advertisement content every 10 seconds.
3. Simultaneously using Core Bluetooth's "Performing Long-Term Actions in the Background" feature along with the iBeacon scheme for app activation.
Additionally, we would like to know if these changes could potentially cause any other issues.
Thank you for your assistance, and I look forward to your insights on this matter.
I know this will sound like a weird use case, but it is potentially relevant to a product I am working on.
If I were to link two or more iPhones to the same iCloud account (I know this is uncommon and generally a bad idea, but it is possible so I have to consider it). Next I pair a BLE device to one of the phones using my app which has the background bluetooth permission with the app acting as the central so it can automatically restore a connection when the BLE device comes back into range.
I then install the same app on the other iPhone(s) linked to this account and separate them physically so they are out of BLE range of each other.
The BLE device is taken out of range of the first phone and into range of one of the others.
First question is will the BLE device automatically connect to the other iPhone?
If yes, will the app have any way of determining that it's running on a different iPhone with the same device connected?
If yes, can the app prevent connection to the other phones in some way?

Hello!
We currently require the development of an iOS system for encrypting and authorizing photos, videos, voice memos, or other files stored on our devices to a connected USB-C storage. The encrypted files can be accessed through authorization. We have already encrypted and authorized the files to be stored on the app's mobile storage, and cannot directly store them to USB-C (this requirement is based on the Apple camera RroRes, which uses external storage for direct storage). We are seeking technical support from Apple.

Hi everyone,
I try to understand Matter Support and how to get the onboardingPayload from the commissionDevice func.
I followed the docs from https://developer.apple.com/documentation/mattersupport/adding-matter-support-to-your-ecosystem
I also added the Matter Extension, added the NSBonjourServices, included the Matter Extension and did .perform(). The UI shows up correctly and I can scan the QR-Code, which shows pair it to your ecosystem.
I launched the extension via Xcode in my application, but the RequestHandler isn't triggering.
Did I miss something? Can someone point me into the right direction please?
I have a 2019 iMac 5K with an Apple 2TB internal, which I've been using since June 2019. DriveDx says the drive is working correctly and has 94% of lifetime remaining. When I switched from Sonoma to Sequoia, I backed everything up several ways, reformatted the internal, installed 15.0 from a USB drive, copied all of my data back and then installed each app one by one.
For years I generally ran Disk Utility every couple of weeks and never had any problems.
Because I've had lots of software problems running Sequoia, I've tried just about every version of the OS--release, public beta and developer beta. Right now I'm running 15.3 beta 2.
When I installed this version, I reformatted the internal drive, installed 15.3 beta 2 and restored my programs and data from Time Machine. After that I ran Disk Utility. At the top level, Apple SSD SM2048L..., showed no errors and neither did any of the drives below the top. But after a few days if I run Disk Utility, Container disk3 shows errors, as does the bottom Macintosh HD. See bellow. And this happens after every fresh install. Good and clean for a couple of days, then the errors in Disk Utility start showing up.
These errors have apparently caused no problems, but I'd like to get them fixed. How do I do it as Disk Utility is not fixing them? And because I'm having these errors in DU is my internal going bad?
I know Disk Utility shows it's performing repairs and the disk is OK afterward, but it's apparently not as I get the same result every time I run Disk Utility.
Thank you for your help.

My phone broke a little bit ago, with the screen either flashing green or it being green continuously. I asked somebody who would know and he said that the connection from the motherboard to the screen is messed up. It’s refurbished so that makes sense. Since then, the issue has gone away. it stopped a few days ago but I have insurance on it through a third party and I’m wondering if I should still make a claim.
I am working on an iOS application that relies on CoreMotion Attitude, and I need clarification regarding the behavior of reference frames.
According to the documentation, when setting the attitude reference frame to CMAttitudeReferenceFrameXTrueNorthZVertical:
The Z-axis of the reference frame is vertical (aligned with gravity).
The X-axis of the reference frame points to the geographic North Pole (True North).
When a device’s orientation matches this reference frame, the roll, pitch, and yaw values reported by CMAttitude should be (0,0,0).
However, in my testing:
When I align the device’s position with the CMAttitudeReferenceFrameXTrueNorthZVertical reference frame by orienting the screen (device Z-axis) upward and the right side (device X-axis) toward north, the yaw value reported by CMAttitude is 90 degrees instead of the expected 0 degrees.
To have CMAttitude report yaw as 0, I must instead orient the top side (device Y-axis) toward north.
This seems to contradict my understanding that the X-axis of the device should be aligned with True North, to have the device match the attitude reference frame and have roll, pitch, and yaw values reported by CMAttitude should be (0,0,0).
What I'm missing?
Thank you for your time and assistance.

We just updated our ATS to the latest 8.3.0 version and tried to run the iAP2 Session Test via BPA100 Bluetooth Analyzer and we are experiencing this EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION. This same test still seems to work on ATS version 6. Please advise.

Battery health reduced to 89 from 98 within 2 months on iPhone 15 Pro and Cycle Count is just 314.
Is it the software update doing this?
For the "Required device capabilities" in my info.plist I have:
iPhone Performance Gaming Tier
iPad Minimum Performance M1
But a beta test just informed me they cannot install on iPhone 16 Pro Max due to "incompatible hardware"
I need to limit to iPhone 15 or newer and M1 or newer. I read that iPhone Performance Gaming Tier also limits iPads to M1 here:
https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/737946
Perhaps I should only use "iPhone Performance Gaming Tier" and by using "iPad Minimum Performance M1" it is not allowing it to be installed on an iPhone?
It would be very nice if I could see what devices are supported by the current settings.

So the battery level value is in accurate returns the battery percentage in multiple of 5 values e.g. battery percentage is 42 but the api returns it as 40. So please fix the issue if possible because i checked that the
devices running iOS versions below 17 appear to be working fine.
Since tvOS 18.4 beta (22L5218l) i have the issue that When I turn off an Apple TV, the Apple TV and the connected TV turn off, but after a few seconds the devices start again.
This never happened before. But now it is happening with 3 different Apple TV generations on 2 LG and 1 Telefunken TVs. All 3 Apple TV devices have been updated to tvOS 18.4 beta (22L5218l) and since then show this error.
