In addition, the system wakes up your app when any of the CBCentralManagerDelegate or CBPeripheralDelegate delegate methods are invoked, allowing your app to handle important central role events, such as when a connection is established or torn down, when a peripheral sends updated characteristic values, and when a central manager’s state changes. Although you can perform many Bluetooth-related tasks while your app is in the background, keep in mind that scanning for peripherals while your app is in the background operates differently than when your app is in the foreground. In particular, when your app is scanning for device while in the background: The CBCentralManagerScanOptionAllowDuplicatesKey scan option key is ignored, and multiple discoveries of an advertising peripheral are coalesced into a single discovery event. If all apps that are scanning for peripherals are in the background, the interval at which your central device scans for advertising packets increases. As a result, it may take longer to discover an advertising peripheral. These changes help minimize radio usage and improve the battery life on your iOS device.

My user can't pair bluetooth peripheral, due to device lost in SYSTEM BLUETOOTH PREPHERAL LIST

Unpair first and then restart pairing. (status=65535) but there is no device in his iphone's SYSTEM BLUETOOTH PREPHERAL LIST. CallKit Display and Audio Output Mismatch with Unintended UI Reversion
I'm building a React Native call application using the following combination of libraries: https://github.com/react-native-webrtc/react-native-callkeep https://github.com/react-native-webrtc/react-native-webrtc https://github.com/react-native-webrtc/react-native-voip-push-notification When I press the speaker button on the call screen displayed by CallKit and change it to ON, the speaker button display on the call screen reverts back to OFF after a few seconds. However, when the speaker button display reverts to OFF, the actual audio output route does not return to the earpiece - the audio continues to output from the speaker without any change. Could you please advise on what cases might cause the speaker button display to revert, and if there are any potential solutions?

Alternative to generate programmatically a local hotspot like in Android?
Hello, we are developing hardware that needs to connect to an iPhone via Wi-Fi to send requests to a server. On Android, we have managed to create a programmatic local hotspot within the app to facilitate connection and improve the user experience. On iOS, however, Personal Hotspot must be manually enabled from the system settings, and the user must manually enter the SSID and password, which significantly degrades the UX. My questions are: Is there a workaround, unofficial method, or private API to generate a local hotspot from an app on iOS, similar to what can be done on Android? Is there an alternative within the MFi program or through specific frameworks to facilitate a quick and automatic connection between the hardware and the iPhone without relying on the manual Personal Hotspot? Why is CoreNFC unavailable from App Extensions (appex)? Any supported workarounds for authenticators?
Hi everyone — I’m developing an iOS passkey/password manager where the private key material must be stored on a physical device (NFC card / USB token). I’m hitting a hard limitation: CoreNFC is not available for use from app extensions, which prevents an appex (e.g. password/credential provider or other extension) from talking directly to an NFC card during an authentication flow.  My questions: 1. Is there any plan to make CoreNFC (or some limited NFC-API) available to app extensions in a future iOS version? If not, could Apple clarify why (security/entitlements/architecture reasons)? 2. Are there any recommended/approved workarounds for a passkey manager extension that needs to access a physical NFC token during authentication? (For example: background tag reading that launches the containing app, or some entitlement for secure NFC card sessions.) I’ve read about background tag reading, but that seems to be about system/OS handling of tags rather than giving extensions direct NFC access.  3. Is the only supported pattern for my use case to have the containing app perform NFC operations and then share secrets with the extension via App Groups / Keychain Sharing / custom URL flow? (I’m already evaluating App Groups / Keychain access groups for secure sharing, but I’d like official guidance.)  Implementation details that may help responders: • Target: iOS (latest SDK), building a Credential Provider / password manager extension (appex). • Intended physical token: NFC smartcard / ISO7816 contactless (so CoreNFC APIs like NFCISO7816Tag would be ideal). • Security goals: private key never leaves the physical token; extension should be able to trigger/sign during a browser/app AutoFill flow. Possible alternatives I’m considering (open to feedback): designing the UX so that the extension opens the main app (only possible for Today widget in a supported way) which runs the NFC flow and stores/returns a short-lived assertion to the extension. Are any of these patterns sanctioned / recommended by Apple for credential providers?  Thanks — any pointers to docs, entitlement names, or example apps/samples would be extremely helpful.

Since I updated my iPhone 13 to this new update I have two problems.
Since I updated my iPhone 13 to this new update I have two problems First: the battery discharges too fast or it gets stuck and doesn't discharge until I turn it off and turn it back on. Second: I see in my screen time a page that I had never seen is called imasdk.googleapis.com which I had never occupied and they tell me that it is a failure of the new update I hope you can help me fix that, since this mobile phone is new and already brings the faults by the ios

I have an iOS/iPadOS app and 'm trying to communicate with usb smart card reader using CryptoTokenKit on all platforms (ios/ipados/macos). Questions Is CryptoTokenKit (and specifically TKSmartCardSlotManager) supported for iPad apps running on Mac in Designed for iPad mode? If support exists, what entitlements / capabilities are required for USB smart-card access in this configuration? If not supported, is Mac Catalyst the correct/only path on macOS to access USB smart-card readers via CryptoTokenKit? Are there recommended alternatives for iPad apps on Mac (Designed for iPad) to communicate with USB smart-card readers (e.g., ExternalAccessory, DriverKit, etc.), or is this scenario intentionally unsupported? CoreNFC: NFCTagReaderSession fails with “Session invalidated unexpectedly” (after enabling NFC Scan, paid team, and custom dev profile)
Device: iPhone [model], iOS 18.6.2 Xcode: 16.0.x Team: Individual paid Apple Developer Program (not Personal Team), shows as my full name in Xcode I’m trying to use CoreNFC via NFCTagReaderSession in a small SwiftUI app (part of a larger project). So far I’ve done: • Enrolled in the Apple Developer Program (individual). • Confirmed that in Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles → Identifiers, my App ID for com.<…> has Near Field Communication Tag Reading enabled. • Created an iOS App Development provisioning profile for that App ID, including: • my Apple Development certificate • my iPhone device • Downloaded the profile, double-clicked it, and set it in Xcode under Signing & Capabilities with: • Team = my full-name team • “Automatically manage signing” off, using the custom profile. • Added the NFC Scan capability in Signing & Capabilities. • Added Privacy - NFC Scan Usage Description (NFCReaderUsageDescription) in Info.plist with a non-empty string. The app builds and runs on device. Those went away after I created the explicit iOS App Development profile and pointed the target at it, but the session still invalidates right away and readingAvailable never becomes true. Safari can read NDEF URL tags on this device, so the NFC hardware is working. Question: Is there anything else required on the App ID / provisioning / team side to enable CoreNFC with NFCTagReaderSession for an individual (non-enterprise) developer account? Or any known issues where readingAvailable stays false even with NFC Tag Reading enabled and a custom iOS App Development profile? Any hints on what I might still be missing would be greatly appreciated.

Bluetooth and shared iCloud accounts
I know this will sound like a weird use case, but it is potentially relevant to a product I am working on. If I were to link two or more iPhones to the same iCloud account (I know this is uncommon and generally a bad idea, but it is possible so I have to consider it). Next I pair a BLE device to one of the phones using my app which has the background bluetooth permission with the app acting as the central so it can automatically restore a connection when the BLE device comes back into range. I then install the same app on the other iPhone(s) linked to this account and separate them physically so they are out of BLE range of each other. The BLE device is taken out of range of the first phone and into range of one of the others. First question is will the BLE device automatically connect to the other iPhone? If yes, will the app have any way of determining that it's running on a different iPhone with the same device connected? If yes, can the app prevent connection to the other phones in some way?

Hello fellow developers, I’m developing a smart standing desk under my brand Beflo, which integrates technology with traditional furniture. As part of this, we’re working to make our Tenon smart desk compatible with the Apple HomeKit ecosystem. While exploring HomeKit profiles, I noticed there isn’t a specific profile for standing desks. However, there are similar profiles, such as curtains, which also use motors for operation and could align with our product's functionality, like height adjustments. I have a few questions: What is the process for proposing or applying for a new product profile in HomeKit? Is it feasible to adapt an existing profile (like curtains) in the interim while awaiting approval for a new profile? Has anyone had experience navigating this process, and are there any best practices or resources you recommend? Motherboard connection to screen
My phone broke a little bit ago, with the screen either flashing green or it being green continuously. I asked somebody who would know and he said that the connection from the motherboard to the screen is messed up. It’s refurbished so that makes sense. Since then, the issue has gone away. it stopped a few days ago but I have insurance on it through a third party and I’m wondering if I should still make a claim.

Using iPhone Performance Gaming Tier with iPad Minimum Performance M1 won't allow install on iPhone 16 Pro Max
For the "Required device capabilities" in my info.plist I have: iPhone Performance Gaming Tier iPad Minimum Performance M1 But a beta test just informed me they cannot install on iPhone 16 Pro Max due to "incompatible hardware" I need to limit to iPhone 15 or newer and M1 or newer. I read that iPhone Performance Gaming Tier also limits iPads to M1 here: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/737946 Perhaps I should only use "iPhone Performance Gaming Tier" and by using "iPad Minimum Performance M1" it is not allowing it to be installed on an iPhone? It would be very nice if I could see what devices are supported by the current settings.

macOS15.3 IOCreatePlugInInterfaceForService returns e00002be.
Background Information In the macOS operating system environment, Program A uses libusb to access USB devices that comply with the USB Mass Storage protocol. To enable Program A to start automatically after macOS boots, its corresponding plist file has been placed in the /Library/LaunchDaemons directory. Problem and Phenomenon Description Program A works well on macOS versions prior to 15.3, and it can access USB devices normally. However, on macOS 15.3, the following abnormal situations have occurred: A. Program A launched by launchd cannot access the USB device. Checking the logs reveals that the IOCreatePlugInInterfaceForService call in the darwin_claim_interface function returns the error code e00002be. B. Program A launched from the terminal command line with sudo privileges can access the USB device normally, and the return value of the IOCreatePlugInInterfaceForService call is 0.

Apple TV and connected TV restarting on Power off
Since tvOS 18.4 beta (22L5218l) i have the issue that When I turn off an Apple TV, the Apple TV and the connected TV turn off, but after a few seconds the devices start again. This never happened before. But now it is happening with 3 different Apple TV generations on 2 LG and 1 Telefunken TVs. All 3 Apple TV devices have been updated to tvOS 18.4 beta (22L5218l) and since then show this error.

missing openssl/bn.h in Dockkit ADK 1.0
I downloaded "Dockkit ADK 1.0" and trying to compile, and some openssl include .h files are missing, for example in HAPBoringSSL.c, the below files can't found: #include <openssl/bn.h> #include <openssl/evp.h> #include <openssl/hkdf.h> #include <openssl/hmac.h> #include <openssl/rand.h> where can I get these .h files? I'm worrying about the version conformance if I fetch these files from internet.

Find My Network System
Hey everyone, how’s it going? I’d like to know if, by enrolling in Apple’s MFi program, I’ll gain access to develop my own tags and my own app to track them using Apple’s Find network. I also read that there’s an estimated cost of $4 per device—does that apply to each device produced, or only at the time of registering the device, with no fee for additional units?
