Stuck in the kids category
Hi! Our app has been rejected several times now. We first selected the "made for kids" category because that was the age recommended by apple. Everything went fine at first but now, two updated later, we are starting to get rejected. We unchecked the made for kids box but even after that we are still not getting approved. We have tried to explain our issue to apple support but they aren't giving us any good answers. Is there any way to resolve this issue? We are really in the need of help.

Any inputs will be greatly appreciated.

Why do I feel like my growth as an iOS developer has slowed down
I have 9 plus years of iOS experience starting with Objective C and moving to Swift, but after 4 years in my current company with little salary growth, I am struggling to find new opportunities in a highly competitive market with fewer openings and broader skill expectations. I am unsure about the long term career path for mobile developers, concerned about compensation growth and lacking SwiftUI experience, and would appreciate guidance on what additional skills to learn to stand out and secure better opportunities.

In-App-Purchase review rejected
Testing with testflight the IAP work with sandbox. But Apple Review was rejected. It was explained that the IAP could not be found. I cancelled the review, added the IAP to all countries again. The IAPs are in status waiting for review. Now when preparing the version, I cannot choose anymore the IAP. I don't find the option anymore to add the IAP products on the version page. Contracts are all active and in the app for me and others it is working.

Watch App Screen Shots
I have an iOS app that has an embedded watch app, not a stand alone app. Over on Appstore Connect there is a section for screenshots for the watch. Do I put watch screenshots there or do I put them in as part of the iPhone screen shots? The folks over at Appscreens said I can use watch screenshots showing a watch device as part of the iPhone screenshots but the watch ONLY screenshots should be JUST the screenshot, no text or device mockups... That got me thinking then that what they said would apply to stand alone watch apps. So I am confused where to put the embedded watch app screenshots?

NO RESPONSE FROM APPLE DEVELOPER SUPPORT ON APP TRANSFER ISSUE
Hi, this is my third time posting here, and opened 3 support tickets through apple developer support already (so don't ask me to open another ticket there, I have also sent them follow up). It has been more than 2 weeks and they are not even trying to respond, I have been getting issue with App Transfer it says: "You can't transfer this app because of the following reasons: App Transfers Disabled for This Account Due to irregular activity associated with your account, you cannot transfer or receive apps at this time. If you think this is an error, contact Developer Support. " I haven't received any warning or any policy violation, also I am able to upload apps for public release only App Transfer and TestFlight is having issues. Case IDs: 102817552619 20000107793589 102823905165 Please please please respond me and resolve my issue, it is hurting my business.

Remove/delete current version and create new version
I had to create a new version (26.01.1) for my app in order to provide updates to the age ratings prior to the end of January, 2026. The problem is that this version wasn't production/release ready, but nonetheless I created this version to answer the updated age ratings. I now have a production ready version (26.02.1), but I do not see any way to cancel/delete this current version in order to create a new version with the 26.02.1 build I've uploaded. What are my options? Must I submit 26.01.1 for review and distribute it and then I will see the + icon to be able to create a new release?

Subscription shows "Missing Metadata" but all fields appear complete - Cannot submit for review
Hello, I'm trying to submit my first auto-renewable subscription for my app, but it shows "Missing Metadata" status and I cannot identify which field is incomplete. What I've completed: ✅ Product ID and Display Name ✅ Description ✅ Price: $4.99/month for 175 countries ✅ Duration: 1 month ✅ Localization (English): Display name and description filled ✅ Review Screenshot uploaded ✅ Review Notes provided ✅ Tax Category set ✅ Paid Apps Agreement signed and active ✅ Banking and tax info complete Common issues I've already checked: ✅ Subscription is part of a subscription group (Premium Features) ✅ At least one pricing tier is configured ✅ Localization has both display name AND description ✅ Review screenshot is provided ✅ Paid Apps Agreement is active (not pending) The Problem: Subscription status: "Missing Metadata" Localization status: "Prepare for Submission" Need it to show "Ready to Submit" to include with my app My Question: What field am I missing? I've checked all visible fields but the status won't change from "Missing Metadata" to "Ready to Submit". Has anyone successfully resolved this? Thanks!

Would practical ASO sessions help developers improve results?
I see many developers struggling with ASO where AI written content does not deliver results, performance analysis is unclear, localization is ignored, App Store optimization is incomplete, and keywords are often poorly chosen. I am considering running two simple group sessions to share practical tips and show clear ways to improve ASO with real effort involved, and I would like feedback on this idea whether offered for a small fee or even for free.

Rejoining iOS development after long break what updates matter most
Hey everyone, I’ve been building iOS apps since 2011, released several, took a four-year break, and recently launched two new apps, but the ecosystem feels very different now. Earlier, new apps saw strong first-day downloads and fast Google indexing, while today my App Store pages took weeks to appear and show almost no organic traction without promotion, so I’m curious if others notice this and how developers now gain discovery.

Guideline 5.1.2(i) - Clarification on AI service consent for kids educational app
Our children's educational app (COPPA-compliant) was rejected under Guidelines 5.1.1(i) and 5.1.2(i) for sharing personal data with a third-party AI service without clear disclosure and user permission. How our app works: Our app is an AI-powered learning assistant for kids. Children type questions (e.g., "Why is the sky blue?") and the app sends the question to Google Gemini's API to generate an age-appropriate answer. This is the core and only purpose of the app — it's an AI chat app, similar to how a search engine sends queries to its servers. Our current setup: Google Gemini operates as a data processor (not a data recipient) — zero data retention, no model training on user data Our privacy policy already discloses Google Gemini as the AI provider, what data is processed, and that no data is stored The app is clearly marketed as an AI-powered assistant — users understand they are interacting with AI Our questions: Infrastructure vs. data sharing: We use Google Gemini to process queries the same way we use Google Sign-In for authentication, MongoDB Atlas for our database, and Railway for hosting. In all cases, user data passes through a third-party service to provide core functionality. Is the expectation that AI services require additional consent beyond what's expected for other third-party infrastructure services? If so, what distinguishes them? 2. Minimum consent implementation: If in-app consent is required, what constitutes sufficient "explicit permission"? Specifically: - Is a simple alert dialog (similar to the ATT prompt) with "Allow" / "Not Now" before first use sufficient? - Or is a more detailed consent screen with checkboxes/toggles required? - Since our app's sole purpose is AI-powered Q&A, what should happen if the user taps "Not Now"? The app cannot function without the AI service. 3. Privacy policy disclosure: Our privacy policy already identifies Google Gemini by name, describes what data is sent (child's questions, name, and age for personalization), and explains Google's zero-retention policy. Is updating the privacy policy alone sufficient, or is a separate in-app consent mechanism always required under 5.1.2(i)? 4. Children's apps specifically: Since parents set up the app (behind a parental gate), should the consent be presented to the parent during setup, or does it need to appear elsewhere? Any guidance on the minimum compliant implementation would be greatly appreciated. We want to get this right. Thank you.

Unable to Change Primary Locale for 4–6 Year Old Live App – “Missing Screenshots” Error Despite All Assets Uploaded
Hi everyone, We’re facing an issue while trying to change the Primary Language / Primary Locale of a long-standing live iOS app in App Store Connect. The app has been live for 4–6+ years. When attempting to update the Primary Locale from App Information, we receive the following error: “Primary Locale couldn’t be saved because you must first provide all the required screenshots for each version in this language.” However: The target localization (English – UK) already exists. All required screenshot sets are uploaded. No screenshot sections are blank (iPhone and iPad – all visible display sizes). Both the live version and the version in review contain complete screenshot sets. No Apple Watch or iMessage extensions are currently included in the build. A clean build has been uploaded and selected. Removing the version from review does not resolve the issue. There are no visible validation errors in the UI. This appears to be either: A hidden backend validation requirement, A legacy platform association, Or a Primary Locale lock tied to the app’s original configuration. Has anyone successfully changed the Primary Locale for an older live app recently? Is there a known limitation for apps created several years ago? Would appreciate any insight before escalating further. Thanks in advance.

App Store Events
We have run over 15 App Store Events. I have only ever seen data on 1 of them. We have several large apps, and based on our numbers, it is unlikely that we don't receive more than 5 installs from the event. We see an overall CR uplift, but no direct data in the event data section. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Can't find IAP/Subscriptions section for new build
Hello communities, I am going to submit a new binary build with subscriptions. However, I cannot find the In-App Purchases and Subscriptions section like before. Is there any update on this? Despite the fact that the subscriptions were accepted and banking & agreements were set up, I still can't figure out how to include them in the binary build. Thanks for the advice.

Archiving Asset Pack for App B caused archive for App A Asset Pack
Hello, I've just been unfortunate enough to discover a critical issue. I have two apps using Asset Packs, and I believe both apps had an Asset Pack with the same identifier. In App Store Connect for App B, I archived this Asset Pack. However, the Asset Pack has been archived for both Apps. This shouldn't happen.

Missing Icon. The Info.plist key CFBundleIcons.CFBundleAlternateIcons c
Missing recommended icon. The bundle does not contain an alternate app icon for iPhone / iPod Touch of exactly '120x120' pixels, in .png format for iOS versions >= 10.0. To support older versions of iOS, the icon may be required in the bundle outside of an asset catalog. Make sure the Info.plist file includes appropriate entries referencing the file. See https://developer.apple.com/documentation/bundleresources/information_property_list/cfbundleicons (90890) Missing Icon. The Info.plist key CFBundleIcons.CFBundleAlternateIcons contains an entry “newIcon” that references asset “newIcon.” No such asset is present in the asset catalog. (90895) I configured multiple icon settings in Xcode 26 version. I added new Icons in the asset file. However, after packaging and uploading the app to the AppStore, it kept giving me an error message saying that some content was missing. Looking at the documentation, it doesn't seem to say that starting from Xcode 13, we can configure through the asset file?

How has the ASO landscape changed in 2025? Any proven strategies?
"ASO in 2025 is more algorithm-driven, with a stronger focus on user engagement signals like retention and in-app actions. Keyword relevance still matters, but quality and user experience now play a bigger role in ranking boosts."

How can I make my ASO better?
I’ve invested heavily in developing my app, but marketing and ASO remain challenging. Despite experimenting with different keywords and tools, my rankings haven’t improved much. Is this just a matter of time?
