macOS ACME certificate not appearing in System Keychain
Finally got to the stage where the ACME certificate profile is successfully installed. However, the public key/certificate itself isn't appearing in the System Keychain. I'm not sure if this is normal or if it's an indication that something went wrong after the profile installation. Unfortunately, I didn't study the log detail at the time and I'm uncertain of how to retrieve those logs from two days ago for the ACME activities. Can anyone confirm that macOS 26 should be storing ACME-retrieved MDM profile-based certificates in the System Keychain? If they should be there, what can possibly go wrong? The most obvious issue I can see is that the ACME server has requested the certificate with two CN's, which comes from the MDM profile asking for the subject against CN and the OID (2.5.4.3). Both CN's are identical. I'm surprised the profile installed if something is wrong. At first, I assumed Apple had decided to stop installing the certificates into the System Keychain.

In the RequestRequiresNetworkTether property, the definition of “network-tethered” is unclear and there is a discrepancy between the actual behavior and the description in the document.
In the RequestRequiresNetworkTether property, the definition of “network-tethered” is unclear, and there seems to be a discrepancy between the actual behavior and the description in the documentation. We would like to clarify the definition of the connection state that “network-tethered” means and the specific behavior requirements when the property is set to true. Explanation of the document The description “If true, the device must be network-tethered to run the command. I was not sure whether it refers to “network connection” or “tethered communication” as the Japanese translation. Actual operation verification results The error message was “The device is not tethered. (MDMErrorDomain:12081)”. Error occurs when only carrier communication is used The following connection conditions work normally (as in the case of false) Wifi communication Combination of carrier communication and Wifi communication Tethering communication Combination of carrier communication and tethering communication Tethering connection (both parent and child devices) Inconsistencies Although the document description could be interpreted as a simple network connection requirement, actual operation is limited only to carrier communications alone Error message uses language regarding tethering, but actual tethering connection works fine

iOS 18.5 MDM Screen Lock
Hello, I am running into a bit of an issue with the Screen Timeout/Screen Lock setting and would like some clarification on. First for a bit of context, I am enrolling personal iOS devices 18.0+ into the company MDM (Intune) with Account Driven User Enrollment. We are trying to set a screen timeout of 5 minutes and immediately after it asks for the passcode on the device, though this setting is not being applied and the device timeout setting can be set as "Never" on the user's end. This is a big security risk for the company I work for and and the issue with being HIPAA compliant. According to the Microsoft Intune Support, "In iOS 18, when using Account-Driven User Enrollment for BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) scenarios, the screen lock timeout setting is indeed marked as “Not Applicable”. This is because Apple’s privacy-preserving model for personal devices restricts administrative control over system-level settings like screen lock or idle timeout." I am needing clarification on the item mentioned from Microsoft Intune Support and if this setting is no longer able to be applied from the MDM with devices enrolled with Account Driven User Enrollment?

Timed Subscriptions availability
Hello, Is it acceptable to have subscriptions that are available for limited times on the app, for example I would like only 100 new paid subscription purchases on the App every month. When the 100 quota is finished, users might see something like "Check back next month". This is to control growth and marketing purposes.

Enterprise Account: Can we use corporate credit card under different name?
We’re using the Apple Developer Enterprise Program for internal app distribution. The Apple ID is a generic one using our domain email, but the Account Holder is a real person with authority in the organization. For the payment method, we plan to use a corporate credit card — but it is issued under a different staff name (e.g. card under Chief, but Account Holder is IT Head). Just want to check: • Is this setup acceptable? • Will Apple reject the enrollment/renewal if the card name doesn’t match the Account Holder? • What’s the best practice in this case to avoid delays or verification issues? Appreciate any guidance or experience from the community. Thanks!

Help Setting Up Apple MDM Vendor-Signed CSR and Push Certificate
Hello, I have an Apple Developer Enterprise account, and Apple Support has already enabled MDM for my account. I successfully downloaded and installed my MDM Vendor Certificate (it shows up in Keychain as MDM Vendor: [My Company Name] with its private key). Here’s what I’ve done so far: Exported the Vendor Certificate + private key as a .p12, then converted to .pem and .key using OpenSSL. Generated an unsigned CSR with CN=com.apple.mgmt.External. using OpenSSL. Attempted to sign the CSR using: my Vendor certificate the Vendor private key Apple Worldwide Developer Relations (WWDR) intermediate certificate OpenSSL smime -sign command with DER output Problem: Every time I try to upload the vendor-signed CSR to the Apple Push Certificates Portal, I get an error (CSR rejected). Sometimes OpenSSL even fails with “unable to load certificates” depending on how the WWDR certificate is included. My Questions: What is the correct OpenSSL command and certificate chain Apple expects for signing the CSR? Do I need to include any additional intermediates besides WWDR? Is there an official Apple reference example for generating the vendor-signed CSR that the Push Certificates Portal will accept? Any guidance from the community (or someone who has successfully done this end-to-end) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Sergio Sanchez

file vault platform sso on intune managed mac, network user login not working
Hi everyone, We manage several macs through Microsoft Intune. We've deployed Platform SSO using the password based method (not the Secure Enclave) and have also enforced filevault encryption through policy. What we're trying to achieve is that multiple users can log into the same Mac. For example, I (the initial enrolling user) can log in without issues. However, we want a colleague to be able to log in as well if they're physically in front of the mac. The challenge we've run into is that once filevault is enabled (We're not sure about it but reading on forums it seems that the problem is filevault), it seems the network is not available at the login screen. This means that while the first user can create a mobile account and log in, a second user can't do the same. The moment we try to log in with another set of credentials, we get an immediate error and the password field shakes instantly, suggesting it's not even reaching out to the network or directory to validate the credentials. We'd like to confirm if this behavior is expected when FileVault is active and whether the only solution is to disable FileVault or if there are alternative solutions to allow network connectivity at the login screen. Essentially, we want to know if there's a way to let a second user log in without having to turn off disk encryption. Or if we can pre-authorize a set of users on the mac in order to create all the mobile account needed.. Thanks in advance! Thomas

ABM API Problems with C# and PEM file
I am needing to access the ABM API via C#. Searching has directed me to use BouncyCastle. I have downloaded the PEM file. However, using the following: using (var reader = File.OpenText(pemFilePath)) { var pemReader = new PemReader(reader); var keyObject = pemReader.ReadObject(); I get the error "problem creating EC private key: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Is it OK to encapsulate xcframeworkA into xcframeworkB (encapsulation of xcframework only)?
We are considering the development of a new service, We would like to ask for detailed information on the feasibility of the following. Is it possible to encapsulate only xcframework, such as encapsulating xcframeworkA into xcframeworkB? If the above is possible, will the application incorporating the xcframework in the above state pass the review of apple?

App versions delivered via Intune crash on my device but work on others at my organization, possibly due to being denylisted.
I have an in house application that I develop for my company. The application requires our corporate MDM profile is installed on the phone. I recently got a new phone and our corporate IT team installed the MDM profile and the Comp Portal application for me to manage our corporate applications. I installed the application through the Comp Portal. It crashes right away when I launch the application and I see this error message in the Console when connected to the phone: "SpringBoard Snapshot generation request for bundleID: com.mycompany.mygroup.appName rejected due to the app being denylisted." I see other errors from runningboardd about failing to spawn the job and SpringBoard Bootstrapping failed for <FBApplicationProcess: 0x510affd80; app<com.mycompany.mygroup.appName>:> with error: <NSError: 0x301e60090; domain: RBSRequestErrorDomain; code: 5; "Launch failed."> I can launch a development version of the application with no problem by connecting the USB cable from my machine to my device and running through XCode. Other people have no problems launching the application. I compared all the certificates in the management profile with another device where the application does not crash and there are identical. We checked a number of settings on the devices to see if there could be something preventing the application from running but found nothing. We reset all settings and deleted and reinstalled the application with rebooting to see if perhaps it was an incomplete installation. Our IT folks want to wipe the phone and start over but I have little confidence that will fix the issue since we don't know the root cause. I am concerned that one of my Stakeholders might have the same issue if they get a new device. This application worked fine on my old phone. Device: iPhone 16 Pro Max iOS version: 18.2.1 Any ideas on next steps to troubleshoot this issue? How can I figure out the cause of the denylisting?

No such module 'DeviceManagement'
I'm working on the companion iOS app for my purpose-built MDM system. when I use the following in a .swift file: import DeviceManagement I get the build issue: No such module 'DeviceManagement' When I attempt to add the framework in the Frameworks, Libraries, and Embedded Content settings, DeviceManagement doesn't even show up in the available frameworks. Alll the documentation I can find suggests that is the correct framework to import, but I'm new to this and not sure if I'm just missing something. Some AI help is suggesting that the culprit might be v16.x of Xcode, but I don't know enough to prove that correct or not. Any ideas on why Xcode believes there is no such module? Is there documentation that might help me learn how to make that framework available for my project?

Active Supervision Mode for Parental Control – Restricting iOS and Third-Party Apps
I’m looking for advice on implementing an Active Supervision Mode for enhanced parental control. My goal is to restrict access to both iOS system apps and third-party applications to create a safer and more tailored digital experience for my child. Here’s what I’d like to achieve: App Restrictions: Block specific apps (both iOS and third-party) and allow access only to approved ones. Time Limits: Set daily usage limits for individual apps or app categories. Content Filtering: Apply restrictions to block inappropriate content and age-inappropriate apps. Remote Management: Manage these settings remotely from my device for added convenience. Activity Monitoring: View app usage stats or receive alerts for policy violations. I understand that Screen Time on iOS offers basic parental controls, but I’m exploring whether iOS supports more advanced capabilities natively or through additional configurations. I’ve also heard that enrolling a device in Apple Business Manager (ABM) and linking it to an MDM (Mobile Device Management) solution might provide greater control. If this is a viable solution, could anyone provide guidance on: Enrolling a personal or family-owned device into Apple Business Manager. Linking an MDM for configuring app restrictions and monitoring usage. Alternatively, if there are third-party parental control apps that work seamlessly with iOS to achieve these goals, I’d appreciate your recommendations! Thanks in advance for your insights!

Using MDM App to read/update management properties
We are using management properties in DDM to assign configurations and assets to a particular device, and one of those properties should be updated by a business app on the device. For example, if the business application is not launched every 30 days, then a predicate should evaluate to false and the device put into single app mode to force the application to run. If, however, the app is launched any time in the 30 days, then the counter should be reset. Essentially trying to enforce that users in the field cannot work offline for extended periods of time without getting the latest dataset from the company. The single app mode part is very clear and the predicate to assign the configuration based on the date in the management property seems logical. However, the question is: Can a predicate be built upon data that is updated by the custom MDM app? ie: If the app is launched on the device without connectivity, can a property be updated that the DDM predicate system can access that can be used as an input property? such as "last launch time" or "last check-in" of the custom app? Alternately, could the custom MDM app read any of the management properties set via DDM? That way the user would know the value that the DDM configuration for restricting the device.

Enterprise App Installation Fails on iOS 18.5 with Integrity Error
I am a developer distributing an enterprise app. Recently, some users have intermittently encountered an error message on iOS 18.5 stating: "Unable to install this app because its integrity could not be verified." While the issue could not be reproduced on iPhone 15 / iOS 18.5, we have received reports that it does occur on the following devices: iPhone 14 / iOS 18.5, iPhone 14 Pro / iOS 18.5, iPhone 14 Plus / iOS 18.5, iPhone 16 Pro Max / iOS 18.5, Are there any known issues or recommended solutions regarding this behavior? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

After the Provisioning Profile expires, application cannot be used after reinstallation
My company signed the application with enterprise certificate, the Provisioning Profile expired on March 20, 2025. Some iPhones didn't update the application before the expiration. We have update the Provisioning Profile and repackaged application. However, these iPhones still can't use the application after reinstalling the new ipa. After opening the application, the screen is blank and then flashes back without any error prompt. Restarting iPhone didn't help.
