Public API to Open Safari Settings in iOS Browser
Dear Apple Developer Support, I’m developing a Chromium-based iOS browser and want to open the Safari settings page (Settings → Apps→ Safari) like Chrome’s “Import data from Safari” feature, where clicking “Go to settings” opens the Safari settings page. To reproduce this behavior in Chrome: 1.In Chrome, search “Import password from Safari.” 2.Restart Chrome. 3.Go to Chrome → Settings → Safari import → Import to Chrome → Go to settings. 4.You will see it opens Settings → Apps → Safari. Please see the attached file for steps to trigger this feature in Chrome. My attempt with App-Prefs:root=SAFARI only opens the Settings main page ,Is there a public API to open the Safari settings page directly? Look forward to your reply, many thanks

Reply to CallKit does not activate audio session with higher probability after upgrading to iOS 18.4.1
Hi @DTS Engineer After rolling out the workaround solution (setConfiguration immediately before reporting a new call), the issue still persists. So looks like the workaround can not resolve this issue. cc @goat_herd Today, we reproduced this issue once on iOS 26, WITH the workaround solution. I have reported a bug. FB20789841 (CallKit does not activate audio session, the issue rate increased on iOS 26.) Base on our metrics, this issue is the primary contributor to one-way audio problems in our app and continues to increase as iOS 26 adoption grows. The occurrence rate seems to be twice as high on iOS 26 compared to iOS 18. Our metrics currently show a 0.67% rate for iOS 26, and this figure is still rising. !!!Given the ineffectiveness of the workaround, we respectfully request that this issue be given higher priority. This is particularly important as iOS 26 is being adopted by an increasing number of iPhone users.!!!

Reply to Cancel button for VNDocumentCameraViewController is missing on iPadOS 26
This issue seems to be either compiling the app against the iOS 18 SDK (and running it on iPadOS 26) or compiling against the iOS 26 SDK and having UIDesignRequiresCompatibility set to true in Info.plist. In both cases, the UI is somehow broken, and the cancel button does not appear. The problem does not occur when the app is compiled against the iOS 26 SDK without the UIDesignRequiresCompatibility flag.

App installs on iPhone and simulator, but fails on iPad (iOS 18.7) — “Unable to install app. Please try again later.”
Hi everyone, We had developed an iOS Application in Flutter and built it using XCode 26.0.1. We're unable to install this application in iOS 18.7. Below are the details, ➡️ Development Environment: 🔹 Flutter: 3.32.2 ➡️ Build Environment: 🔹 Xcode: 26.0.1 🔹 Build system: Flutter → flutter build ios --release, then opened in Xcode for signing ➡️ Device models tested: 🔹 iPhone (iOS 15.8.3 / 15.8.5) → ✅ installs and launches fine 🔹 iOS Simulator (iOS 18.6 / 26) → ✅ works fine 🔹 iPad (iOS 18.7) → ❌ fails to install ➡️ Error message on iPad (iOS 18.7): 🔹 “Unable to install ‘’. Please try again later.” ➡️ What we’ve tried: 🔹 Cleaned and rebuilt the project (flutter clean, DerivedData removed) 🔹 Deployment Target is set to iOS 18.7 or lower. 🔹 Built the app using an Enterprise distribution profile, not a Development profile. 🔹 Works fine on older iPhones (iOS 15.8.3 / 15.8.5), so signing seems valid 🔹 Device has enoug

How to have clickable/tappable buttons where the toolbar is supposed to be?
I'm trying to create a UI with two button bars (top and bottom) inside the detail view of a NavigationSplitView, instead of using the built-in .toolbar() modifier. I'm using .ignoresSafeArea(.container, edges: .vertical) so the detail view can reach into that area. However, in macOS and iOS 26 the top button is not clickable/tappable because it is behind an invisible View created by the non-existent toolbar. Interestingly enough, if I apply .buttonStyle(.borderless) to the top button it becomes clickable (in macOS). On the iPad the behavior is different depending on the iPad OS version. In iOS 26, the button is tappable only by the bottom half. In iOS 18 the button is always tappable. Here's the code for the screenshot: import SwiftUI struct ContentView2: View { @State private var sidebarSelection: String? @State private var contentSelection: String? @State private var showContentColumn = true @State private var showBars = true var body: some View { NavigationSplitView { // Sidebar

Why is CoreNFC unavailable from App Extensions (appex)? Any supported workarounds for authenticators?
Hi everyone — I’m developing an iOS passkey/password manager where the private key material must be stored on a physical device (NFC card / USB token). I’m hitting a hard limitation: CoreNFC is not available for use from app extensions, which prevents an appex (e.g. password/credential provider or other extension) from talking directly to an NFC card during an authentication flow. My questions: 1. Is there any plan to make CoreNFC (or some limited NFC-API) available to app extensions in a future iOS version? If not, could Apple clarify why (security/entitlements/architecture reasons)? 2. Are there any recommended/approved workarounds for a passkey manager extension that needs to access a physical NFC token during authentication? (For example: background tag reading that launches the containing app, or some entitlement for secure NFC card sessions.) I’ve read about background tag reading, but that seems to be about system/OS handling of tags rather than giving extensions direct NFC access.

UINavigationBar setting button yields multple constraint errors
Hey all in iOS26.1 i seem to be getting a bunch of Constraint errors when setting the rightBarButtonItem leftBarButtonItem. Unable to simultaneously satisfy constraints. Probably at least one of the constraints in the following list is one you don't want. Try this: (1) look at each constraint and try to figure out which you don't expect; (2) find the code that added the unwanted constraint or constraints and fix it. (Note: If you're seeing NSAutoresizingMaskLayoutConstraints that you don't understand, refer to the documentation for the UIView property translatesAutoresizingMaskIntoConstraints) ( , , , , ) Will attempt to recover by breaking constraint Make a symbolic breakpoint at UIViewAlertForUnsatisfiableConstraints to catch this in the debugger. The methods in the UIConstraintBasedLayoutDebugging category on UIView listed in may also be helpful. Curious if im setting something wrong, or maybe i can just ignore these (granted they are annoying in my logs) This wasnt happening in iOS 26.0

Reply to Request USB Host Controller Interface Specification for Apple Silicon
I need the USB Host Controller Interface Specification for Apple Silicon to develop low-level USB communication on iOS,could you send me the link to the document? A few different answers to this: I don't know what document you're referring to here. DriverKit is only supported (or included) on iPadOS, NOT iOS, which means any kind of direct USB communication is not possible on an iPhone. We don't currently have any supported option for USB Host Controller development. The closet current option would be to use IOUSBHostControllerInterface running in a user space process and communicating with a supporting PCI DEXT. However, IOUSBHostControllerInterface does not currently support isochronous or bulk streaming endpoints, which means it can't be used to implement a general controller. The approach above (#3) would ONLY work on macOS, as iPadOS does not include IOUSBHost framework. __ Kevin Elliott DTS Engineer, CoreOS/Hardware

UIHostingController presented modally as sheet breaks navigation bar back button safe area insets when iOS device is rotated
I have a SwiftUI View containing a basic NavigationStack structure. I host this in a UIHostingController and display modally as a sheet in UIKit using UIViewController.present(). Problem: When I rotate my iOS device to landscape from portrait, the navigation bar's back button extends past the safe area into the left corner of the device. Then, rotating back to portrait the back button is pushed further towards the center - not matching the intended position. (see images below). Is there an API call I am missing to handle this rotation case? Thanks! Code Example SwiftUI view - ContentView.swift import SwiftUI struct ContentView: View { var body: some View { NavigationStack { Form { NavigationLink { Form { Text(Hello) } .navigationTitle(Filter) .navigationBarTitleDisplayMode(.inline) } label: { Text(Filter) } } .navigationTitle(Filter) .navigationBarTitleDisplayMode(.inline) } } } Main UIKit ViewController - ViewController.swift import UIKit import SwiftUI class ViewController: UIViewController { let s

iOS App Exists after launch
Hello, my iOS apps are exiting right after launch on a few of our iOS devices. I tried a couple of my apps that are deployed to our fleet and they do the same thing. If I run the app(s) in the Simulator it works fine and if I run the app(s) on the offending devices it works fine as well. Once I stop the run in Xcode the app on the device will not launch. I'm thinking something is missing like a certificate etc. Just not sure. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? I would really like to get this fixed.

Safe area issues on iOS 26 on website using WordPress plus elementor pro
I have a website I’m working on that uses WordPress and element mentor pro. Basically everything is custom HTML in individual containers and custom CSS for each page. The problem that I’m running into is there needs to be a pop-up and the easiest way to do that is just use the element or proper pop-ups however, the overlay is not extending into the safe areas on the bottom or top notch. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to fix this, and I cannot get it to work. I’ve tried having CSS in every imaginable way to get it to extend the overlay.. The other issue is for this website there is no header. It’s just a container that’s the hero content and for some reason that also will not extend into the top-notch safe area. It extends to the bottom notch just fine but not the top notch and there’s just a white bar there where I prefer it be the background gradient that I have set up for the hero however, nothing I do will get it to push into that top notch safe area either. Hoping someone else had this issue and can

Reply to iOS18,CoreText EXC_BREAKPOINT
Hi @leokaminski07. Thanks for posting a sample project. I was able to reproduce your results here using your sample on an iPad Pro running iOS 26.0.1. Beyond turning off the Button Shapes option, I don't have any recommendations for avoiding this bug. Our engineering teams need to investigate this issue, as resolution may involve changes to Apple's software. Please file a bug report, include a reference to your Xcode project and post the Feedback number here once you do. If you post the Feedback number here I'll check the status next time I do a sweep of forums posts where I've suggested bug reports. Bug Reporting: How and Why? has tips on creating your bug report.
