iTunes Connect: Invalid Binary on submission
I'm trying to upload a new version of an app to iTunes Connect but everything I've tried so far has resulted in a Invalid Binary report by iTunes Connect. I have the Archive action set to Release and all schemes set to use the distribution certification and profile. Everything archives fine and the binary validates, but after uploading to iTunes Connect the binary moves into the Invalid Binary state and I get the following email:Invalid Signature - Code object is not signed at all. Make sure you have signed your application with a distribution certificate, not an ad hoc certificate or a development certificate. Verify that the code signing settings in Xcode are correct at the target level (which override any values at the project level). Additionally, make sure the bundle you are uploading was built using a Release target in Xcode, not a Simulator target. If you are certain your code signing settings are correct, choose Clean All in Xcode, delete the build directory in the Finder, and rebuild your re

Reply to First install impressions?
El Capitan broke my gaming keyboard extra buttons via Razer Synapse' lack of support (essential for my emacs usage), ipod nano doesn't show up in iTunes and my external harddrive (needed to backup to get back to Yosemite!!!) also isn't accessible. Very irritated about all this.😟 Why can't there just be an easy way to go back to a previous build... I can't do a clean wipe. Very disapointed and wish I had an exit strategy.

Binary operator cannot be applied: NSCalendarUnit
Have the following code running in 7.0 beta (7A120f) - didn't see that as a topic in the beta forum...adjusting to the forum change.let dateComponentsFormatter = NSDateComponentsFormatter() dateComponentsFormatter.allowedUnits = NSCalendarUnit.Day | NSCalendarUnit.Hour | NSCalendarUnit.Minute | NSCalendarUnit.SecondReceiving the following build error: Binary operator '|' cannot be applied to two NSCalendarUnit operands.Did not see this error in Xcode 6, not sure if this should be filed as a bug report at this juncture. Other solutions offered by the interwebs proving unviable.Thoughts?Cheers,Josh

Get rid of Open Directory!
Open Directory was added to OS X Server early on in its release form. This is after OS X transitioned away from the NetInfo directory used by its predecessor, NeXTSTEP. However, Open Directory is similar, in a few ways, to the old-style Windows NT 4.0 directory system. At the same time that Apple adopted this older system, Microsoft, with Windows 2000, moved away from it and began using their much more robust Active Directory system. For some time, I have been urging Apple to move away from the antiquated Open Directory, and use Active Directory, since it is much more flexible and powerful, makes use of multimaster replication, and is used by many, many Windows network administrators. Moving to Active Directory would make is so much easier to manage OS X Servers in enterprise settings, not requiring two separate skillsets, one for Open Directory and one for Active Directory. This would also allow Apple to have an end-to-end solution, and build out their Profile Manager and configuration profile servi

Reply to How compile ios 8 app for iphone ios 9
Ad hoc distribution is the supported mechanism to use if you want to build using an old version of Xcode and load the application onto a device too new for that version of Xcode. There are hackish work arounds involving swapping between Xcode 6 and Xcode 7, but that's likely to cause handshaking problems with the device.

xcodebuild
I have a question regarding xcodebuild. I have created a static library and I want to build it and create my .a file without using Xcode. I run xcodebuild from the terminal and it runs without generating an error and tells me that the code is built but there are no files generated in product folder. Any thoughts?

Custom fonts disappears/unloads from Safari after a while
Hi,I'm troubleshooting a really weird problem with our web/custom fonts. We are using three fonts: (A) Aktiv Grotesk from TypeKit, (B) Font Awesome served from Amazon CloudFront, (C) Our own served from Amazon CloudFront. All fonts work great for the first couple of visits but after leaving Safari closed for some time (hours) and revisiting the site the fonts (A) and (B) are not loaded. (A) falls back to Helvetica and (B) bacomes squares. We've found this problem on multiple machines in Safari 8.0.6 and Yosemite 10.10.3. Not sure about the extent of the problem for other versions. How to reproduce:1. Load https://www.mentimeter.com/plans, notice that icons (like the checkmark) are there2. Close down Safari and leave it for some hours3. Open it a go to the URL in (1) again, now checkmarks should have become squares. Checking in inspector there are no errors or anything. They are just gone. Reloading the page doesn't work. To get them back one has to clear the cache and then reload. Any ideas how to troubleshoot

Dynamically link command line tool against swift libraries
I have a bunch of command line tools all installed together (via an installer package) and I would like to avoid having 5MB of swift libraries embedded in each one of them. Is it possible for all my binaries to dynamically link against the same set of libraries? I looked into the build settings but can't find any switch from static to dynamic linking.
