Getting compile errors in Interface Builder in Xcode7
Any idea what to do with this compile error in Xcode7? Cryptic error messages, SSDD
I just spent all day migrating my 30,000-line Swift project to 2.0 and was rewarded with this lone error. Any clue what it means? Is it yet another internal error?Assertion failed: ((IGF.IGM.DataLayout.getTypeSizeInBits(coercionTy) == IGF.IGM.DataLayout.getTypeSizeInBits(paramTI.StorageType)) && Coerced types should not differ in size!), function emitDirectExternalParameter, file /Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/swiftlang/swiftlang-700.0.38.1/src/swift/lib/IRGen/IRGenSIL.cpp, line 908. 0 swift 0x0000000106f20e0b llvm::sys::PrintStackTrace(__sFILE*) + 43 1 swift 0x0000000106f2154b SignalHandler(int) + 379 2 libsystem_platform.dylib 0x00007fff94a83f1a _sigtramp + 26 3 libsystem_platform.dylib 0x0000000000000003 _sigtramp + 1800913155 4 libsystem_c.dylib 0x00007fff9c270b53 abort + 129 5 libsystem_c.dylib 0x00007fff9c238c39 basename + 0 6 swift 0x000000010506869d (anonymous namespace)::IRGenSILFunction::emitSILFunction() + 13693 7 swift 0x0000000105064d52 swift::irgen::IRGe

It appears to be crapping out on this perfectly harmless line of code (which compiled fine in 1.2), so I think it's the Swift compiler just crashing and burning like all during 1.0 Beta. Perhaps due to some project-complexity issue? Anyone else seeing problems like this already? func moveToAction(target: SCNVector3) -> SCNAction {

Reply to Testing with MS Exchange
I had experienced problems previously and there appeared to be some sort of handshake exchange (pun) error between Mac and Exchange. Spent probably 10 hours on tech support with Microsoft and Apple. Finally got a senior tech from Apple who suggested inputting the incorrect password during the setup process of adding the Exchange acct. Once that fails, the prompt will allow you to manually create the account. Manual mode will allow the account to be saved with incorrect information. Once the account had been saved, going back in and updating the password to the correct password worked great for me and I've never had a problem since.

On device watchOS debugging impossible
It doesn't seem to be possible for me to debug on device wtih my apple watch. I can run my develpment app normally, but Xcode just can't seem to attach to a debugging session.I've read the relase notes and have tried:1) deleting the app/apps from devices and trying again2) ensuring Show App on Watch is on for dev app3) restarting all of: watch, phone, xcode, mac.4) unpairing / pairing againNo dice.When I click Run on the [AppName] WatchKit App scheme, the status window says Running [AppName] WatchKit App on [Phone name]. It stays like that for about 45 seconds. Then it says Finished running [AppName] WatchKit App on [Phone name].It really seems like the Phone->Watch connection is just way too slow. When I launch Xcode, it takes about 2 minutes before it considers my Phone+Watch pair as eligible for this scheme. During this initial 2 minutes, if I look into Window->Devices I don't see my watch listed even though I can clearly see it is paired.I'm going to turn this into an official bug report, b

Companion app has problems with Watch OS 2.0
I updated my iPhone to 9.0 beta, installed the profile on the watch and updated the Apple Watch to Watch OS 2.0But now the companion app has problems with the new Watch OS. I can install third party apps with the companion app. But I cannot check in the general settings the software version or other things. The app gives me an allert that it cannot connect to the watch and I should check if the airplane mode is set to off. All the icons of the Apple apps are also not shown in the companion app. There are only these white placeholder icons for them.I can also not change settings for the app. I checked it with the photos app and the sync album is set. But the app on the watch dont show the photos because I think it cannot read the settings.This is what I did. Maybe there was something wrong with the update.- I installed first the latest version of iTunes on my iMac with OSX Yosemite- Then I installed iOS 9 beta on my iPhone 6 Plus- I dont know if it is normal but the watch now was in a state like when I got it.

Touch ID credential surviving device reset on iOS 8.3
My app supports Touch ID to allow the user to log in using a saved credential (password).When the user launches the app, they are immediately prompted to touch the home button to log in.A successful touch retrieves the credential and uses it to log in.We have been seeing sporadic problems under iOS 8.3.Upon launch the system will *not* prompt the user to touch, it will instead directly retrieve the correct credential and log in.I set the credential using the following code (some details shortened for readability):-(void)enrollTouchForUser:(NSString *)username { NSString *password = @passwordFromInterface; NSData *encodedPassword = [NSData encodePassword:password forUsername:username]; NSData *encryptionKeyData; // obtained from outside process - code not needed for this sample NSData *encryptedPassword = [NSData encryptDataWithKey:encryptionKeyData withData:encodedPassword]; // add the key to the keychain CFErrorRef error = NULL; SecAccessControlRef sacObject; // Should the secret b

Can I install back to iOS 8.3 after trying out iOS 9 beta?
The download page says:Devices updated to iOS 9 can not be restored to earlier versions of iOS.Is this true? Can I not install iOS 8.3 (or another latest iOS version signed by Apple) over iOS 9 (or otherwise reset the device to iOS 8.3) even if it means I restore the phone and lose all the contents? Did you guys at Apple just change how it has worked for the past 4 years, or did your text-content writers just drop the ball?

Reply to Generics?
Check out Objective-C Language Features in the Xcode 7 beta Release Notes.Specifically:Lightweight generics allow you to specify type information for collection classes like NSArray, NSSet, and NSDictionary. The type information improves Swift access when you bridge from Objective-C and simplifies the code you have to write. (6294649) For example:NSArray<UIImage *> *images; NSDictionary<NSString *, NSURL *> *resourcesByName;
