Does the app will be revised on a iPad or a MacOS?
I am developing my app for the Swift Student Challenge 2024. I have made significant progress on it and have been building it on a M1 Mac, where it works perfectly. However, when testing it on some iPads (specifically, the iPad Pro 2018 and iPad Air 5 M1), it did not perform well on these devices. I am wondering if I can specify whether the app should be reviewed on a Mac (M1 or later) or if it will be reviewed on an iPad.

iPad internal GPS receiver channels
Hi everyone, I'm working for an aircraft operator as an engineer. Our pilots use iPads for their operations and different applications on it. One of the application (Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro X) is using a feature that uses the GPS of the iPad (we use iPad 9th Wifi+Cellular). In order to prove that the application is reliable for operations, we need to prove to the Authorities that the GPS of the iPad can receive more than 12 channels from satellites. Does it exist a way to know approximately how many channels an iPad can receive? Or does a statement exist from Apple? We know that it is capable of, but we need to be able to prove it. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support. Paul

Chicken-egg problem: my Touch ID stopped working, but "Stolen Device Protection" won't let me fix it
Got a chicken-egg problem with my iPhone (SE 2020; 17.3 (21D50).) I turned on Stolen Device Protection, and then, some time later, Touch ID stopped working (IDK why; it just doesn't recognize my thumbs any more.) So I want to fix Touch ID (by deleting and re-adding my existing fingers, or adding a new finger). But I can't change Touch ID, because Stolen Device Protection doesn't trust my PIN; it requires that I authenticate via Touch ID (which doesn't work.) A solution would be temporarily to disable Stolen Device Protection, then fix Touch ID, then re-enable Stolen Device Protection. But Stolen Device Protection won't let me disable it, without me authenticating via Touch ID. Has anyone figured out how to fix this problem?

Which Apple Mac device is sufficient for creating apps via XCODE
Hello, I am looking to purchase a new Mac device after owning my current macbook pro since 2017, sadly this device operates with a intel processing hardware. The new macbook expectations are that the new device is suitable for developing code for apps on xcode. I would like the make mac product to offer great processing capabilities, portability, cost is another factor and somewhat a concern considering I am a college student. To list out the factors into my purchase decision: Reasonable cost Great portability Processing capability via xcode for app development. Adobe applications will be used but I will not be venturing into the realm of 3D rendering at the moment enough Internal storage space is also important to me Which Mac device can you recommend, and why? Really appreciate the input and guidance some of you may be able to provide!

Wired data transfer between an app on two iOS/iPadOS devices--Possible or pipe dream?
If two iOS/iPadOS devices have your app opened, is it possible to have the apps send data to each other over a wired connection? E.g. If two iPhone 15s are connected by USB-C, can I get my app in iPhone A to send data to iPhone B and vice-versa? I've been looking around for quite a while now and at this point I just want to know if it's technically feasible.

Audio Playback Issue in Unity-Developed iOS App: Intermittent Sound Output
Hello, I am reaching out for assistance with a problem I've encountered while developing an iOS app using Unity. Recently, in apps built with Unity versions 22.03.14 and 22.03.17, we have been experiencing issues with AudioSource not properly playing background music (BGM) and TTS MP3 files received from the server. Here is the situation: In the initial map scene, BGM and TTS files play normally. However, from the next scene onwards, no sound from AudioSource can be heard. This issue persists even if we return to the first scene. Interestingly, sounds from an external video call asset called Agora SDK are audible. This issue has occurred in Xcode versions 14.3.1, 15, and 15.2. The app functions correctly on other OSs (Windows, Mac, Android). Additionally, when the app is moved to the background and then reactivated, the BGM starts to work again normally. At this point, briefly hearing the previous BGM suggests a potential issue with iOS audio initialization. Furthermore, we use Addressables.LoadSceneAsync for scene loading. Here, scenes are loaded in Additive mode, and after the loading scene covers the screen, the previous scene is deleted before the next scene is loaded (using the Unload method provided by Addressables). The AudioListener is attached to a camera in a DontDestroy state. Considering that this setup worked previously, the cause of the current issue is unclear. For scene loading and unloading: Loading: Addressables.LoadSceneAsync(resourceName, LoadSceneMode.Additive, true); Unloading: Addressables.UnloadSceneAsync(sceneInstance); We are managing the code flow using async/await. Could you provide any advice or solutions for this issue? Thank you.

AirDrop iOS17
Hi all, hope everyone is well. I'm seeking clarification regarding AirDrop functionality in regards to apps. For example, can the new AirDrop function within iOS17, whereby putting two iPhones together transfers user contact details to one another be utilised by an app? If not, please could I have clarification what bluetooth functionality within iPhone's an App may be able to utilise and could an app connect to AirDrop API's in any way? If the new AirDrop feature is not currently able to be utilised by apps, is this likely to change in the future with upcoming iOS updates or is it a set in stone thing? Apologies, I don't have the deepest understanding of this topic and any help is really appreciated, thank you.

Detect if iOS app is running on Apple Silicon Mac using pure C
Is there a way in pure C (not Objective-C, and certainly not Swift) way to detect if an iOS app is running on a Mac? I'm aware of iOSAppOnMac, but AFAICT I'd need to write Objective-C code to use it. My application is quite old and large, with portions going back to the 1980s, so the burden of moving on the anything that can't be accessible directly from C is quite high.

How to use ATS (Beagle USB Analyzer) to connect iPhone 15?
Hi, We want to connect the iPhone 15 to Accessory Test System (ATS) for traffic capture. The iPhone 15 is a USB-C iOS device. In ATS User Guide, the iAP-over-USB (USB-C) setup mentions: For iAP-over-USB accessories which can connect to USB-C iOS devices, you only need to connect a Beagle USB 480 analyzer. The Beagle USB 480 analyzer USB-A port should be connected to the USB device, the USB-B port should be connected to the USB host. Connect the equipment as shown. We use the following setup with Beagle USB 480 analyzer: [Beagle: USB-B port] <-- USB-B-to-TypeC cable --> [iPhone] [Beagle: USB-A port] <-- USB-A-to-USB-A cable --> [Accessory] But, the Beagle USB Analyzer in the ATS app cannot find the iPhone attached. Is the above setup correct? How to connect the iPhone 15 to the Beagle USB 480 analyzer? Does anyone know the iAP-over-USB (USB-C) setup? Thanks for help.
