Hello,
I have a usdz model created in Maya. It's supposed to have a splashing animation associated with it, and this can be viewed in Maya and Blender, but for some reason when I export it to usdz and then import it into my Reality Composer Pro project, the animation is missing. I expect an animation library to be created on the entity when I drag it in like any other usdz with animation data, but that is not the case.
Any help would be appreciated on this issue.

I have inherited the maintenance of the app so I do not know much about the initial setup. Every time I try to build the app in Xcode, I get an error stating Multiple commands produce Info.plist. I fix this by removing Info.plist from Build Phases - Copy Bundle Resources. Then the build succeeds. However, every time I try to build again the Info.plist is back again in that list and the error occurs until I remove it again. Is there some setting I should adjust? Save is greyed out so how do I get Xcode to remember my change?
Hello all !
I am starting to explore UI testing with XCode and was wondering if there's a simple way to access application logs directly in XCode after the session ends. We currently have access to many things (captures, video, xctest logs) in report UI (see capture) but I am surprised we don't also have the app logs.
I know there's a way of accessing it via terminal in .xcresult via a custom script (https://github.com/ChrisMash/XCResultExtractor) but I find it a little tedious and unfriendly as it gives raw .txt
I also noticed I can switch processes in XCode console to see app logs but it switches back to xctest logs once the test ends ^^'
Is there some "see app logs" button I missed in XCode UI or is XCResultExtractor our only option ?
Thank you in advance !
My preferred way of setting up an app project no longer works in Xcode 16.
I like to have my apps massively modularized - a separate SPM module for every significant feature. I use a project grouped together with a package that contains all the feature modules. The project's app target imports a consolidated AppFeature from the package that is all the logic of the app.
In Xcode 15 and before, I had a process for creating this kind of setup (described below -- unfortunately the forums don't support collapsible sections). Where I used to be able to drag a directory from Finder into the Xcode files navigator (step 6 in my process), it now rejects the drag.
What I'm looking for is a way to have a single window open that has my Swift package and below that a separate folder for each executable target. Creating new modules in the package automatically creates new schemes in Xcode. Executable targets in the project can reference any module in the package. Source control treats the entire thing as one repository.
I've tried all the approaches I can think of to accomplish the same goal, but no luck. The projects I've already built work fine in Xcode 16 -- I just can't make a new one. Unfortunately I can't revert to Xcode 15 for this purpose since it apparently doesn't run on my work machine with macOS 15.
Here's my process that worked great till now:
In Terminal, create the project folder Foo:
$ mkdir Foo
$ cd Foo
Create the package:
$ swift package init
Creating library package: Foo
Creating Package.swift
...
Create a directory for the project:
$ mkdir App
In Xcode, create a new app project called Foo and put it in the App folder
Open the Foo project
Drag the top level Foo directory from Finder into the Xcode project and drop it immediately under the project name
Close the Xcode project
Create a file called Package.swift and place it in the App folder. Edit it to have an empty package content. This ensures Xcode won’t display that folder in the source navigator under the package header.
import PackageDescription
let package = Package(
name: "",
products: [],
dependencies: [],
targets: []
)
Open the Xcode project. You should have top-level project name* Foo*. Under that will be the package, also named Foo. Then there will be the app target, also named Foo. You can rename the app target folder Foo to something like iOS if you want to have other targets for other platforms like macOS.
When working on my Xcode project and using Previews from time to time I find preview crashes and ens up with the image below. The UI is completely unresponsive and only way to bring it back I find is close and relaunch Xcode.
Anyone else experience this - is there a known fix or a better way to "kick" preview to restart that doesn't involve full relaunch of XCode
Inquiry about Open Source Release of Xcode 15's ld Source Code
Dear Apple Developer Support Team,
I hope this email finds you well.
I am a developer with a keen interest in Apple's development toolchain. I noticed that Xcode 15 uses a new version of the linker (ld), and I'm particularly interested in its source code.
I would like to inquire about:
When will the source code for the ld linker used in Xcode 15 be made available as open source?
Your response would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Best regards, Panghu

I currently own an Apple Watch SE2 device.
However, when I try to debug from the watch to the actual device, the connection loss issue occurs all too often.
Once the connection is lost, it continues to try to connect in the Disconnected list on the Xcode "Devices and Simulators" screen and is in a loading state.
Very often, even when the connection is established and you are trying to start debugging, it drops out.
Xcode cannot debug properly on the actual device.
I later found out that the Apple Watch SE2 does not support 5.0 Hz Wi-Fi, only 2.5 Hz.
I think that might be the cause.
Is this phenomenon less likely to occur if you debug on an actual device such as a regular Apple Watch 7/8/9 or Ultra model?
In fact, if debugging is difficult with the Apple Watch SE model, I am wondering whether I should purchase an additional Apple Watch.
Or is there another way to improve this issue?
It would be nice if the Apple Watch could be debugged by connecting it to a Mac with an actual cable like the iPhone.
I am wondering if there is a way to disable and enable network debugging in Xcode.
In the past, debugging the watch using only Bluetooth with the iPhone in Xcode seemed to be more stable.
Except for the Watch, the iPad doesn't have any major issues with Wi-Fi debugging on the iPhone.
Hello everyone =)
I'm working at the moment on a project in Xcode 16 where I need to have multiple files with the exact same name, stored in different folders (for example, separate quest data files). When I compile, Xcode seems to treat these identically named files as duplicates, causing build errors.
How can I properly organize (or configure) Xcode so that it recognizes these files as distinct? Any advice or best practices would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! ;)

Since about two weeks Xcode has been unable to download other app versions than the pre-selected set of versions shown in Organizer for any of the sub selections like Crashes or Feedback. I can see some crashes and feedback for the versions that were already there but when i choose "More versions..." in the version selector the popup shows but after about a minute i get a message that the versions failed to load due to a network error.
I've tried every few days, on multiple networks (all with good fiber connections), for two different team accounts and for multiple apps, but in none of these scenario's Xcode is able to download new versions so i'm pretty sure there is something broken on Apple's side but i don't see many reports online about this nor anything here on the forum.
Is anybody else experiencing these issues?
I’d really appreciate the solution inhaling Xcode in windows or another alternative that can access an iOS apps sandbox

For normal testing I build an application using Xcode and selecting "Build for Profiling" from the Product menu.
For production I do
"xcodebuild clean build -configuration Release ......."
I notice a big performance difference.
In my case the XCode profiling build runs in under a minute, the xcodebuild version takes over 4 minutes.
The XCode profiling build uses the Release configuration, the xcodebuild is also using the Release configuration.
What additional configuration options are being set/used when "Building for Profiling"?
I'm having a hard time finding an answer to this question.
I'm building an iOS app using Xcode, and I frequently modify code within a package. To do this, I drag and drop a locally cloned version of the package into my project as a local package. However, when working across multiple branches of my app, I need different versions of the package as well. To achieve this, I use Git worktrees to create branch-specific copies of the package. Unfortunately, when I drag and drop these worktree copies into Xcode, the IDE doesn't seem to recognize them. Could you kindly guide me on resolving this?
I'm trying to add an iMessage extension to my app, and upon adding the iMessage App Icon set, I ran into an issue with one specific icon size: 1024x768px, aka 1x 1024x768pt.
When I remove this one icon from the icon set, it compiles and runs fine, however I can't push it to the App Store as I get the error: "Asset validation failed. Missing Image Asset. Your app is missing the Large App Icon asset 'AppIcon' in 'Payload/Runner.app/PlugIns/MessagesExtension.appex'." I'm assuming this refers to 1024x768px, as this size placeholder appears upon adding a New Messages Extension Icon to my assets folder, and 1024x1024 is already included and compiles fine with it.
However, when I add the 1024x768 icon, and try to run the app, I get the error: "Command CompileAssetCatalog failed with a nonzero exit code"
The app icon's filename is correct, it is exactly 1024x768 px, and my contents.json correctly includes :
{
"filename" : "AppIcon_1024x768.png",
"idiom" : "ios-marketing",
"platform" : "ios",
"scale" : "1x",
"size" : "1024x768"
}
as is the same format for all of my other icons that work.
Why am I running into this issue upon inclusion of this one required size? How do I fix it?
I'm testing my App and the preview in Xcode keeps refreezing by itself preventing me from testing my code. It refreshes about once a second despite me not doing anything. Any ideas? Thank you!

Our CI process uses XcodeBuild tools. It used to work very well. The shell code is as follows:
step 1 "++++++++++++++++clean++++++++++++++++"
xcodebuild clean -workspace ${WORKSPACE_NAME}.xcworkspace \
-scheme ${SCHEME_NAME} \
-configuration ${configuration}
step 2 "+++++++++++++++++archive+++++++++++++++++"
xcodebuild archive -workspace ${WORKSPACE_NAME}.xcworkspace \
-scheme ${SCHEME_NAME} \
-configuration ${configuration} \
-archivePath ${ARCHIVE_PATH}
-allowProvisioningUpdates YES
step 3 "+++++++++++++++++ipa+++++++++++++++++"
xcodebuild -exportArchive \
-archivePath ${ARCHIVE_PATH} \
-exportPath "${IPA_PATH}" \
-exportOptionsPlist ${EXPORT_METHOD_PLIST_PATH} \
-allowProvisioningUpdates YES
But after upgrading to xcode16, every time I execute the step3, it fails.
The error log is like this
** ARCHIVE SUCCEEDED **

At this time, my Apple developer account disappeared in xcode-setting-account, and it automatically logged out. If I log in again and execute the shell command, the above phenomenon will reappear.
What is the cause of this, and what do I need to do to solve this problem? I look forward to your reply
Recently I decided to download my app from the App Store and found out that during the first launch some colors were missing or displayed incorreclty. For example one button was blue, although switching dark mode on and off solved button color it. Some colors were completely missing and the tab bar buttons were blue as well. Any advices?
I'm using iOS 18.2 and XCode 16.1
The simulator will not work. No matter How much I restart, when I open my app, it tells me either Build succeeded but I see a loading bar or a loading automatic phone simulator but it never shows up like the line would. keep going in a loop, for example this is what it looks like,
Whenever I try to build on my Apple Watch using Xcode, I often encounter connection issues. It typically takes about an hour of troubleshooting, including restarting devices, restarting Xcode, erasing the Apple Watch, and other steps. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced similar problems and if there are any effective solutions.
