Reply to Error when materializing files
In this situation, you might contact your users who can reproduce the issue and are willing to help, ask them to install the file provider profile, follow the guide to reproduce the issue and capture a sysdiagnose, and then provide sysdiagnose to you. From there, you can look into the system logs, and try to figure how the system behaves differently from the workable case (your case). The debugging process may take time, but given that you don't have a reproducible case, that's probably the way you can move forward. Best, —— Ziqiao Chen  Worldwide Developer Relations.

Custom NSMigrationPolicy methods not invoked when NSMappingModel is created in code
Hi, I’m running into an issue with Core Data migrations using a custom NSMappingModel created entirely in Swift (not using .xcmappingmodel files). Setup: • I’m performing a migration with a manually constructed NSMappingModel • One of the NSEntityMapping instances is configured as follows: • mappingType = .customEntityMappingType (or .transformEntityMappingType) • entityMigrationPolicyClassName is set to a valid subclass of NSEntityMigrationPolicy • The class implements the expected methods like: @objc func createDestinationInstances(…) throws { … } @objc func createCustomDestinationInstance(…) throws -> NSManagedObject { … } The policy class is instantiated (confirmed via logging in init()), but none of the migration methods are ever called. I have also tried adding valid NSPropertyMapping instances with real valueExpression bindings to force activation, but that didn’t make a difference. Constraints: • I cannot use .xcmappingmodel files in this context due to transformable attributes not compatible with

Reply to Xcode shows alert about unknown com.apple.quicklook.preview extension point when running on Apple Vision Pro Simulator
I did a sanity check and looked in Xcode, in the templates for a new target, I don't see 'Quick Look Preview Extension' in the visionOS' list (I do see 'thumbnails'). Could it not be possible yet? That would explain why no issues when making the app 'designed for iPad'. I suppose the issue disappears if you remove vision as a target for the quick look extension.. but maybe you want the extension in visionOS as well. I read some more and I came to the conclusion that the Quick Look preview extensions are not yet for visionOS, but only someone from Apple can confirm that.

Feature Request: Expand HealthKit Body Composition Data Types to Support Smart Body Scanning Scales
Summary: Expanding HealthKit to support the full spectrum of smart scale metrics will allow Apple Health to remain the central hub for health data, align with user expectations, and future-proof the framework as body composition analysis evolves. Description: With the growing adoption of smart body composition scales (e.g. segmental impedance scanners, multi-frequency analyzers, and body pods), users are generating a wide variety of clinically relevant metrics that currently cannot be stored natively in HealthKit. At present, HealthKit supports a core set of body composition values (Body Mass, BMI, Body Fat %, Lean Mass, Height, Waist Circumference). While useful, these do not capture the full picture modern devices provide, leading to fragmentation: • Users can see dozens of metrics in the device app, but only a handful flow into Health. • Developers must resort to metadata fields, which are inconsistent across apps and not accessible in Apple’s Health app UI. This gap undermines HealthKit’

xcodebuild -exportLocalizations Fails Due to Cross-Platform Dependencies
I'm working on a large multi-platform iOS project (iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, visionOS) and have successfully migrated from legacy .strings files to modern String Catalogs (.xcstrings). However, I'm unable to export localizations using xcodebuild -exportLocalizations due to cross-platform framework dependency issues. (Note: I did have AI help me write this question, so apologies in advance for any errors) Project Structure Main iOS/iPad app with multiple extensions watchOS companion app tvOS app visionOS app 49 .xcstrings files successfully migrated across all targets Uses Swift Package Manager for modularization The Problem When attempting to export localizations using xcodebuild -exportLocalizations, the build fails because it tries to build all targets across all platforms, including watchOS targets that depend on third-party xcframeworks that don't include watchOS slices: xcodebuild -exportLocalizations -project MyProject.xcodeproj -scheme MyApp -localizationPath ./export -configuration Debug Error:

Password AutoFill doesn't work - help needed
I have a project with a single app target that serves two environments, and two schemes, one for each env, using xcconfig files for defining environment-specific stuff. I'm trying to figure this out for months, so I've tried multiple approaches throughout this period: Have a single domain in Associated domains in Xcode, defined as webcredentials:X where X gets replaced using a value from xcconfig. Have two domain entries in Associated domains webcredentials:PROD_DOMAIN and webcredentials:STAGING_DOMAIN. Have a different order of domains Results are very interesting: whatever I do, whatever approach I take, password autofill works on staging, but doesn't work on production. I'm aware that we need to test production on Test Flight and AppStore builds. That's how we're testing it, and it's not working. Tested on multiple devices, on multiple networks (wifi + mobile data), in multiple countries.. you name it. The server side team has checked their implementation a dozen times; it's all configured properly, in the

Reply to App Crashes in UICollectionView.m:3974
Thank you for your post. Could you please provide more information? Are you unable to locate a crash file on your device using the sysdiagnose. Additionally, the post does not include the version of iOS or any other relevant details that would allow me to determine the cause of the crash. Could you utilize Xcode to debug the application and reproduce the crash? Providing additional information would be beneficial in guiding you to obtain the crash file. Kindly submit a comprehensive crash report, adhering to the guidelines outlined in Posting a Crash Report. Hope this helps: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/688669 Looking forward to figure it out. Albert Pascual

Reply to Foundation Models (Detected Content Likely to be Unsafe) Error
Thanks @azamsharp! That is almost definitely a bug with the guardrails. Can you file a Feedback report? In the Playground Canvas, on the far right of the Playground has encountered an error card, you should see a ! icon that will let you directly file a Feedback bug report. To help us track down the issue, would you also be willing to share your Siri language setting? That can be found in the Settings app > Apple Intelligence & Siri > Language. The guardrails have some language-specific behavior, so there's a known issue we're tracking where guardrails are over-triggering for some languages and locales.

Mac OS Tahoe 26.0 (25A354) Sound Glitches When opening the simulator app
Hey there, I just upgraded to Mac OS Tahoe ,son an apple MacBook Pro 2019 16inch. am using IntellijIDEA and Flutter to develop a mobile app which I test on the simulator app running iOS 18.4 . the issue: when I start the simulator app. ( while in the loading phase and in the operation phase as well ), the audio from an already open YouTube tab on safari (this happens on chrome browser as well). the sound glitches and becomes Noise. a fix I found online is to kill the audio deamon on Mac OS, This works using the command: sudo killall coreaudiod this kills the audio process, (while the emulator is operational), then the macOS restarts the audio deamon then the audio works fine alongside with the simulator being open. I just want to ask is there a permanent fix for this? is Apple working on a fix for this in the upcoming update?

Reply to Questions about using App Extension communication with host apps on iOS 26 (Xcode 26)
I’m still researching the exact details of those limitations
Hey hey, that went quicker than I expected. As things currently stand on iOS 26, an app can only host extensions that it contains. Needless to say, this significantly undermines the utility of the ExtensionKit. While it’s possible that you might find a creative use for it, there’s one specific situation where it’s super useful, namely, using an extension to host code that is either unreliable or deals with untrusted data. For more on that last point, see Creating enhanced security helper extensions. There’s obviously a lot of demand from third-party developers to broaden the scope of ExtensionKit on iOS. If you have a specific use case in mind, feel free to file an enhancement request with the details. That’s particularly important if your use case is limited in some way. As I mentioned above, we already have an ER for the sort of general support we have on macOS

Reply to Wifi Aware iOS devices authentication fails after a period of time
I’m not sure what you’re asking for here. Based on your contribution to other threads (like here), I get the feeling that you’re looking for a sample that shows how to communicate between iOS and Android apps. We don’t have such a sample, and it’s not something I’m create for you here on the forums. If you’d like to see that, please do file an enhancement request for it. And post your bug number, just for the record. If I’ve misunderstood your message, I’d appreciate more details on what you’re looking for. Reply to DeclaredAgeRange import error in Mac Catalyst app
I’m not sure what you’re trying to convey with your latest reply. I’ve already: Explained that this is a bug. Recommend that you file a bug about it. Suggested a workaround that will at least allow your code to build. What else are you looking for?
