XCode 9 doesn't show exception when running iOS11 simulator
For some reason, if I get an exception when running an app in the iOS 11 simulator I don't get a call stack and no row is highlighted, which makes it hard to find the reason for the crash...I just get this:Thread 1: signal SIGABRTlibc++abi.dylib: terminating with uncaught exception of type NSExceptionHowever, if I get an exception while using the iOS 10 simulator, everything works as intended - the faulty line/row in my code is highlighted and I get a call stack and an error message which actually makes sense...

Service Showing "Not Responding" in Activity Monitor Despite Running Threads.
I am encountering an issue with my application, BloxOneEndpoint.pkg, which includes two services: rc_service_infoblox – Runs as the root user. Controller Application – Runs as a normal user. Although a thread within rc_service_infoblox is running fine and performing its expected tasks, I notice that the service appears as Not Responding in Activity Monitor. Despite normal functionality, this status is concerning, as it may indicate some issue to customer. I would appreciate any insights into why this might be happening and how to resolve it. Is there a specific API or mechanism I should use to ensure the service remains in a Running state in Activity Monitor? Thank you for your guidance.

swift mac swift app fails to show image view crashes on first run
I have an app that displays photos from a directory that the user chooses (including children directories). On launch it checks UserDefaults for stored values, if none from previous run, then asks user to open a directory of photos. Then initializes itself and saves the UserDefaults and also a persistent url so that on subsequent run can re-open directory without user intervention. When first run and asks for directory, runs fine in setting up app state and saving UserDefaults and persistent url, but when gets to contentView the ImageView fails to show anything, but app continues running for about 15 or 20 sec. changing photo via timer, but no image displayed and then the crash @main hread 1: EXC_BREAKPOINT (code=1, subcode=0x1b8072158) and occurs seemingly async from the running code. Crash report attached. Then if re-launch app, it gets the saved UserDefaults, does set up and the runs fine, displaying images! Can even change directories

Running MacOS Network system extension showing waiting for attach .
Hi @eskimo, @meaton, Im new to Mac Development, we are having our own custom DNS app with the use of NEDNSSetting, it just resolving all the traffic on device when we activate our own custom DNS option in System Setting->Network Preferences. Now we have to add DNSProxy into the app. But as per My research till now and after reading similar replies on developer forum, NEDNSSetting and NEDNSProxy service can not be run together or it's complex to run them together. So I have remove earlier DNSSetting implementation and added NEDNSProxy, Below is what I have done so far: Custom Class I have created: import Foundation import SystemExtensions import NetworkExtension import os @available(macOS 10.15, *) public final class ConfigureProxyManager: NSObject { public static let shared = ConfigureProxyManager() public func installSystemExtension() { let request = OSSystemExtensionRequest.activationRequest( forExtensionWithIdentifier: com.xxx.MacOS-DNSProxyNetworkExtension, queue: .main ) request.dele

Issue with LaunchDaemon running bash showing up as unidentified developer
I have a couple of LaunchDaemon installed helper executables that are calling a bash script. As of MacOS 13, these are now showing up as unidentified developer in Login Items which I am trying to resolve. I have tried setting AssociateBundleIdentifiers in my plist file but the console tells me it is being ignored because bash does not have a Team Identifier. I believe the fully correct way to resolve this is to switch to the new Service Management API, but my understanding is that would only work on MacOS 13 and would therefore break my app on older versions of MacOS My questions are: is there any other way to make my helper as part of my app's login items that I have missed? is there an easy way to make an installer that will work for both newer and older versions of MacOS without having to package two separate versions? Sample plist file: AssociatedBundleIdentifiers com.mycompany.ExampleApp Label com.mycompany.ExampleApp.updater ProgramArguments /bin/bash /var/root/Library/Group Containers/c

Reply to Deploy the app to iPad 1 (iOS 5.1.1) using Xcode 7
I got it building again to my iPad 1 again using XCode 6.4, and I was actually able to submit the build to the app store. Enabling arm64 was required for the App Store as you said, but it still ran fine on the iPad 1 with arm64 enabled. To fix the problem where XCode 6.4 wouldn't build to my iPad 1 anymore after installing XCode 7: I had to right click on the iPad 1 in Devices, and select Show in Run Destinations Menu which had been disabled by XCode 7. I also had to re-clone my project from git to another location in order to resolve another weird XCode error where the build failed without any error message.

SwiftUI onDrag not showing preview image when running on device
I noticed an issue with the drag and drop features in SwiftUI that are available since iOS 13.4. The drag and drop operation with the .onDrag and .onDrop modifiers works fine in the simulator, but on a real device (iPhone and iPad) you just see a transparent rect, instead of the view while dragging the view. Does anyone have a solution to get the correct preview image while the view is dragged? struct MainView: View { @State var isDropTarget = false var body: some View { ttttVStack{ ttttttImage(systemName: doc.text) tttttttt.font(.system(size: 40)) tttttttt.frame(width: 150, height: 150) tttttttt.onDrag {t return NSItemProvider(object: TestString as NSString) } tttttt ttttttColor.orange tttttttt.opacity(isDropTarget ? 0.5 : 1) tttttttt.onDrop(of: [public.text], isTargeted: $isDropTarget) { items in ttttttttttfor item in items { ttttttttttttif item.canLoadObject(ofClass: NSString.self) { ttttttttttttttitem.loadObject(ofClass: String.self) { str, _ in ttttttttttttttttprint(str ?? nil) tttttttttttttt} tttttttttt

Reply to Collection View not showing up
They are all in one controller. Is it SecondViewController ? Or another one ?Everything is in the SecondViewController.Where do you see ? In IB or in the running app ?When i run the test, i run it through my iPhone X, and thats where the segmented control shows up; on both the storyboard and within the test run of the actual app.You cannot show them when running the app or in IB ?The collection view cells show up in the IB, but not when running the app.If you cannot show the full code (not just viewDidLoad), sorry, impossible to help you. That code i wrote is all of the secondviewcontroller code. Theres nothing else written in there. I am unsure of what to write to get the cells to show up. Everything else is showing up without me having to add any extra code into the SecondViewController
