The latest updated App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(v) states that: Apps supporting account creation must also offer account deletion. I would like to know: Do I need to fully delete all data on our server related to this user? Can I just provide a contact information for account deletion offline? Is it requested for user to re-create a clean account with the same user identifier? e.g. email address Is account termination is good enough for account deletion requirement? Is it required to be able to retrieve user data after account deletion? Any help is appreciated.

Dear Apple, I have an inquiry about your new guideline section of 5.1.1, which states the following: 5.1.1(v): Apps supporting account creation must also offer account deletion. Does this apply to applications which do not have direct in-app registration, but contains a URL which redirects the user to a webpage where the registration process takes place? Thank you for your answer in advance, Kovács Balázs
The newly updated App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(v) states that: ... If your app supports account creation, you must also offer account deletion within the app. ... The guideline leaves two important questions open: What does it mean to offer the account deletion? Is it enough to point the user to the website, email, ... or does the deletion need to be completed within the app? Does Apple expect a simple account deletion (in the sense of inactivation) or a full delete-all-my-data request? Is there a statement from Apple which specifies these details or has someone already receive an app rejection for it?
Hi, I have received rejection from apple on my doctor booking app. apple requesting that I sign up with organizational not individual developer account means i lost my 99USD and must sign up with 299$ plus with a company the problem is that we paid every $ we have and we can't now establish a company its so expensive and we have at least a year to make a new company. We are from Iraq and trying our best to enhance the healthcare in our society and getting new technologies. i send an appeal to apple board telling them that we don't have any sensitive privacy issues. doctors will pay for registration so its a prepaid service on annual fees and patients will submit only name and phone number and register account through Facebook login to book for doctors they chose if anyone can help us with this situation. please find below the rejection. Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage We found in our review that your app does not meet all of our requirements for apps that offer highly
Hi! My app runs completely fine when we run tests locally, but whenever I try to send it to app review, I get rejected with the reasoning being: We still discovered one or more bugs in your app. Specifically, when we tried to open any of the pages, an error message was displayed and the pages did not load properly. Please review the details below and complete the next steps. The error message says that the app was unable to connect and retrieve the information. The app was built using cordova, all requests are using ajax, but the server is not https, could it be a problem? Also, here's the plugins I'm using in the app: cordova-plugin-cleartext 1.0.0 CordovaPluginsCleartext cordova-plugin-device 2.0.3 Device cordova-plugin-network-information 2.0.2 Network Information cordova-plugin-whitelist 1.3.4 Whitelist cordova-plugin-wkwebview-engine 1.2.2 Cordova WKWebView Engine cordova-plugin-wkwebview-file-xhr 3.0.0 Cordova WKWebView File XHR Plugin cordova-sqlite-storage 6.0.0 Cordova SQLite storage plugin - cordova
I got reply from Apple: The account that submits the app must be enrolled in the Apple Developer Program as an organization, and not as an individual. But for the app that I want to upload is for individual purposes. I do NOT collect or save any user data by the app. For the problem above, does it come from meta information? or any? Currently i do not have organization account. Please give advises, do I need to remove the app and create to upload again? Many thanks
Apple Reject my app with feedback that says I need to change my AppTrackingTransparency description. My app doesn't use personalized ads or IDFA. This AppTrackingTransparency identifier for me is for Firebase Messaging, which allows us to send them personal messages like verify phone number, etc. Firebase Doc. says that Firebase in App Messaging needs to request App Tracking Permission on iOS 14. This is the current description on my AppTrackingTransparency in info. plist and this one got rejected. keyNSUserTrackingUsageDescription/key stringOne of our third party library (firebase) requires tracking usage. Hello. I examine App Store ReviewGuidelines - https://developer.apple.com/app-store/review/guidelines/ and subdivision item 5.1.1 Data Collection and Storage, item (vii) says that: (vii) SafariViewController must be used to visibly present information to users; the controller may not be hidden or obscured by other views or layers. Additionally, an app may not use SafariViewController to track users without their knowledge and consent. This rule applies only to SafariViewCntroller or to WKWebView too? I ask this because both have the same technology and used for the same things. Regards, Ihor.
The bottom div of buttons on my app don’t show on first loading up but then do when the app is swiped away and then reselected. I am in the same situation! Built a news app and got rejected for the same reason. I am constantly explaining that it does not collect any user data and I get the same response in the resolution center every time: Hello, Thank you for your information. Regarding 5.1.1, we still found that your app provides services or requires sensitive user information related to the COVID-19 pandemic. To resolve this issue, your app must be published under a seller and company name of a recognized institution. For additional details, please refer to the update on the Apple Developer website about Ensuring the Credibility of Health & Safety Information. I am sure there is no real human reviewing these apps because I did not get any real reponse yet. It all looks very automated which makes it so frustrating

I have news app for a newspaper in Alaska. The app does not collect any information from the users. However, the app has been rejected by Apple to the following: Regarding the 5.1.1 issue, we found in our review that your app provides services or requires sensitive user information related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the COVID-19 pandemic is a public health crisis, services and information related to it are considered to be part of the healthcare industry. In addition, the seller and company names associated with your app are not from a recognized institution, such as a governmental entity, hospital, insurance company, non-governmental organization, or university. I appealed the rejection stating that the news articles, are just that ... articles about COVID related to the newspaper's community. The articles are just plain information. No user data is collected, and none of the articles are opinion pieces ... The are just number of cases reported in the community, etc. The appeal was rejected wit
We noticed that your app requests the user’s consent to access the camera, but doesn’t sufficiently explain the use of the camera in the purpose string. To help users make informed decisions about how their data is used, all permission request alerts need to specify how your app will use the requested information. Next Steps Please revise the relevant purpose string in your app’s Info.plist file to specify why your app needs access to the user's camera. Make sure the purpose string includes an example of how the user's data will be used. You can modify your app's Info.plist file using the property list editor in Xcode. look it, how to do it ?
