Value of type 'SCRecordingOutput' has no member 'delegate'
Hello, I am trying to capture screen recording ( output.mp4 ) using ScreenCaptureKit and also the mouse positions during the recording ( mouse.json ). The recording and the mouse positions ( tracked based on mouse movements events only ) needs to be perfectly synced in order to add effects in post editing. I started off by using the await stream?.startCapture() and after that starting my mouse tracking function :- try await captureEngine.startCapture(configuration: config, filter: filter, recordingOutput: recordingOutput) let captureStartTime = Date() mouseTracker?.startTracking(with: captureStartTime) But every time I tested, there is a clear inconsistency in sync between the recorded video and the recorded mouse positions. The only thing I want is to know when exactly does the recording actually started so that I can start the mouse capture at that same time, and thus I tried using the Delegates, but being able to set them up perfectly. import Foundation import AVFAudio import ScreenCaptureKit import OSLog

Copying files using Finder and Apple Events
I need my application to copy some files, but using Finder. Now, I know all different methods and options to programmatically copy files using various APIs, but that's not the point here. I specifically need to use Finder for the purpose, so please, let's avoid eventual suggestions mentioning other ways to copy files. My first thought was to use the most simple approach, execute an AppleScript script using NSUserAppleScriptTask, but that turned out not to be ideal. It works fine, unless there already are files with same names at the copying destination. In such case, either the script execution ends with an error, reporting already existing files at the destination, or the existing files can be simply overridden by adding with overwrite option to duplicate command in the script. What I need is behaviour just like when Finder is used from the UI (drag'n'drop, copy/paste…); if there are existing files with same names at the destination, Finder should offer a resolution panel, asking the user to stop, replace, d

Reply to Get grpc trailer fields through NSURLSession
URLSession doesn’t support HTTP trailers (r. 26845013). That leaves you with a couple of options: You can rework your on-the-wire protocol to avoid the need for them. You can write or acquire your own HTTP stack that includes this support. If you do the latter, make sure to use Network framework as your underlying transport, because that ensures that your app will do all the usual things expected on Apple platforms (proxy support, VPN On Demand, and so on). TN3151 Choosing the right networking API talks more about this; see the HTTP alternatives and BSD Sockets best practices sections. Note For gRPC specifically, there’s gRPC Swift and you should be able to combine that with SwiftNIO Transport Services. Normally at this point I’d suggest that you file an enhancement request against URLSession for trailer support, but I don’t think that’d be productive. URLSession is a high-level API and this is a pretty low-level feature. I think you’re more likely to see trailer support la

Get grpc trailer fields through NSURLSession
I'm trying to implement support for grpc http/2 streams using NSURLSession. Almost everything works fine, data streaming is flowing from the server and from the client and responses are coming through my NSURLSessionTaskDelegate. I'm getting the responses and streamed data through the appropriate handlers (didReceiveData, didReceiveResponse). However, I cannot seem to find an API to access the trailers expected by grpc. Specifically, the expected trailer grpc-status: 0 is in the response, but after the data. Is there no way to gain access to trailers in the NSURLSession Framework?

Reply to Failure to mount an FSKit volume *sometimes*
Thank you for the response. I've just filed bug report FB20790194. I would also like to add that this doesn't only happen during development. I can reproduce it pretty easily on release builds. If I archive my app and install it to /Applications on a non-development device (macOS 26.0.1) and then start repeating the following: launch the app mount unmount kill the app After a few attempts, mount would start failing again due to the same error. I've included this information in the bug report.

Failure to mount an FSKit volume *sometimes*
Hello, I'm working on a project for a file system using FSKit and I'm currently experiencing a strange issue on macOS 26 to which I updated recently. While testing, I'm doing incremental debug builds using Xcode. I'm very careful to make sure I only have a single instance of the built app (hosting the file system extension) anywhere on disk. I run the app, mount the file system, run some tests, unmount, kill the app, make changes, and repeat. Once in a while, however, mount would suddenly start failing with mount: Loading resource: The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.extensionKit.errorDomain error 2.) mount: File system named MyFS not found This would consistently repeat until I clean the build folder, rebuild and run again. I would continue testing for a while, then at some point mount would start failing again. I looked at the system logs and found this message from extensionkitservice: Failed to initialize _EXExtensionIdentity: Error Domain=com.apple.extensionKit.erro

Reply to CallKit does not activate audio session with higher probability after upgrading to iOS 18.4.1
Hi @DTS Engineer After rolling out the workaround solution (setConfiguration immediately before reporting a new call), the issue still persists. So looks like the workaround can not resolve this issue. cc @goat_herd Today, we reproduced this issue once on iOS 26, WITH the workaround solution. I have reported a bug. FB20789841 (CallKit does not activate audio session, the issue rate increased on iOS 26.) Base on our metrics, this issue is the primary contributor to one-way audio problems in our app and continues to increase as iOS 26 adoption grows. The occurrence rate seems to be twice as high on iOS 26 compared to iOS 18. Our metrics currently show a 0.67% rate for iOS 26, and this figure is still rising. !!!Given the ineffectiveness of the workaround, we respectfully request that this issue be given higher priority. This is particularly important as iOS 26 is being adopted by an increasing number of iPhone users.!!!

How do I have the NSToolbar "floating" on top of content scrollview on macOS Tahoe?
I have this MWE right here -- it has a toolbar with a random action on it, in addition to a scroll view as the content of the window, with random labels attached inside. Since the redeisgn of the NSToolbar stuff in Tahoe, I expect the share button be able to float on top of the scrolled out content as shown as the first image at https://developer.apple.com/documentation/TechnologyOverviews/adopting-liquid-glass. #import @interface AppDelegate : NSObject @property (strong) NSWindow *window; @end @implementation AppDelegate - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(NSNotification *)notification { NSRect frame = NSMakeRect(100, 100, 600, 400); self.window = [[NSWindow alloc] initWithContentRect:frame styleMask:(NSWindowStyleMaskTitled | NSWindowStyleMaskClosable | NSWindowStyleMaskResizable | NSWindowStyleMaskMiniaturizable) backing:NSBackingStoreBuffered defer:NO]; [self.window setTitle:@Scroll View + Toolbar Demo]; NSToolbar *toolbar = [[NSToolbar alloc] initWithIdentifier:@MainToolbar]; toolbar.displa

Reply to Displaying and working with Favorites in iOS app
returned from songs from the user library How!? Unless you explain how, I'm afraid the song variable that you refer to means nothing to the rest of the world. If you access this URL ( https://itunes.apple.com/search?term=classical+music&entity=song ), in the meantime, with URLSession, it will return two objects: resultCount and results. And you can easily return a dataset in the form of a JSON object. The results returns an array of dictionaries including a property named 'releaseDate.' Additionally, provided that you got your dataset with MPMediaQuery.songs, I would search for the 'MPMediaItem' class. Other than that, you probably want to explain how you get your data.

Displaying and working with Favorites in iOS app
New to iOS development and I've been trying to make heads or tails of the documentation. I know there is a difference between the data fields returned from songs from the user library and from the category, but whenever I search on the apple site I can't find a list of each. For example, Im trying to get the releaseDate of a song in my library, but it seems I'll have to cross-query either the catalog entry for the using song.catalogID or the song.irsc but when I try to use them I can't find a cross reference between the two. I'm totally turned around. Also trying to determine if a song in my library has been favorited or not? isFavorited (or something similar) doesn't seem to be a thing. Using this code and trying to find a way to display a solid star if the song has been favorited or an empty one if it's not. Seems like a basic request but I can't find anything on how to do it. I've searched docs, googled, tried. Does apple want us to query the user's Favorited Songs playlist or something?

TESTFLIGHT: The requested app is not available or doesn t exist
Hello, I created an app using the latest version of Xcode (16.2), and I'm having a problem testing this app on my iPhones. I created this app just like all the others I've made for my clients, including one on (03/24/25), but when I went to upload another App to App Store Connect on (03/26/25) I couldn't test it on my phone. Points to consider: The app runs perfectly on the Emulator. All my terms and agreements with Apple are up to date. I tried to download the apps through Testflight on 2 different devices, iPhone 7 Plus (iOS 15.8.1) and iPhone 15 Pro Max (iOS 18.3.2), and I was unsuccessful in neither attempt. I can send my app to the internal testers, but when I click download, the following message appears: Could not install [APP NAME]. The requested App is not available or doesn't exist. I imagine this problem is with Apple itself, I have already contacted support, but I need to resolve this urgently for my customers. Has anyone experienced this and resolved it?
