Hello, I am working on a video-based app where a user uploads a video and we are showing it in a feed. Now, everything seems to be working fine, but after the recent iOS update 14.6, the video has a crackling/popping sound when played using AVPlayer. The video is created from an Android device. Also for previous iOS versions, it is working fine. Can somebody tell me what can be the solution for this?

Watching an iTunes puchased film with this build and an hour or so into the film audio began to drop out for a second or two and then returns and then within a few minutes again... and then a third time with a loud distorted pop. Audio then recovered and no more issues. This happened in Stereo connected. No issues with the previous beta.... these audio issues were fixed previously with Beta 6.
Hello. I am hearing a lot of clicking or popping sound when I use any photo editing app. For instance the default Photo App, Lightroom and Final Cut Pro. It seems like the sound is coming from the trackpad. I took my MacBook Pro touchbar 2017 to the the genius bar. The technician said it's not a hardware issue as he ran all the tests. He also calibrated the trackpad. And he told me that I should be fine. But the sound still occurs and it is very annoying. I am wondering if it's a bug in High Sierra triggering the haptic feedback mechanism or my MacBook is faulty? Has anybody else experienced this problem? I am tired of going to the Genius bar. Thank you
Last year I bought my most expensive mac ever, 16'' with 1TB SSD, 64 GB RAM, Intel Core i9 2,4 GHz, AMD Radeon Pro 5500M. Sound Problems My problems first started while running simulator on Catalina, I have a daily meeting in Google Meet so when I left the simulator on I got the most disgusting popping sounds while my colleagues were talking (I do think that if I leave it it will **** out the speakers if they are not already). Ok simple fix, quit the simulator and restart the audio, I even did a Automator app for it. But now with big sur I am angry, the problem doesn't go away with a simple restart you need to wait ~5 minutes after closing the simulator (I am not even sure if it is connected to the simulator anymore). This means that I cannot use my Macbook for the DS, I join from my iPhone and use it for just viewing. My AirPods 2 aren't working of course while using it's microphone on the mac, it works on the iPhone. Btw I tried using wired headphones, the popping persist

Hi smart, friendly Mac guys. So, I have been having major Mail nightmares since updating to El Capitan this early October. 😟I am pretty proficient with my MacBook Pro 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7, Mid 2014New Mail Sound: I finally got a New Mail Sound when I succumbed to using IMAP to retrieve my Google/Gmail.I really prefer POP, as I find it to be more minimal. I don't use any other devices to check mail, besides Mail and sometimes online.Only then was I able to get my new mail to Ding! However! I also have a website, me@me.com (example) from GoDaddy. And that is a POP mailbox. I am not even sure if IMAP is available.I get no ding, and miss out on all kinds of work and time sensitive notifications when I am cleaning the house. Stepping away from the computer and listening for my new mail sound is something that has always worked in Mail, no matter POP or IMAP.Am I missing something?I really have tried everything. It's maddening.Copy & Paste in Mail:Ok this is
it is definitely the sound. If the sound plays while the pop up for the IAP displays it CRASHES.Even if the wait for Completion flag is set to true....So strange. Well at least I figured it out after 6 hours of debugging the IAP itself....I probably am going to need Apple on this one. I am very curious now just why.If the sound is too long and carries over to when the IAP pop window starts the process, it crashes. No SOUND or a very short blip and it is fine.

Just upgraded to Monterrey and now the sound is randomly crackling and popping to a degree that does not sound healthy for the spekers- been fine for over a year whilst on Big Sur so definitely an OS upgrade issue.

This is not an isolated issue for you and has been around since at least Xcode 12. Somehow the Simulator's audio emulation clashes with the system audio giving you the pop and crackle. While there is no official solution from Apple for this (yet) there is a workaround: grab the Blackhole 2ch virtual audio device from https://existential.audio (it's free / open source) after installing it launch your Simulator and wait for it to finish booting from the Simulator's menu bar chose I/O > Audio Output and set it to Blackhole 2ch [optional] repeat for I/O > Audio Input This will make the Simulator send it's audio to the virtual device instead of the system speakers and will fix the pop/crackle. Downside for now is that your Simulator won't play any audio since Blackhole will swallow it.

Update - it appears that setting the stream format to 44.1 STEREO instead of 44.1 MONO before connecting it to the mixer also removes the light popping on the 6s - but then I can only have a left channel running through my graph - if i insert a render callback and manually mix the sounds the popping comes back!

I have developed an application for macOS. When I install it and open it for the first time on Big Sur, it shows a pop-up: app-name Notifications Notifications may include alerts, sounds and icon badges The user can close this pop-up or choose between Allow and Don't Allow. This pop-up is very confusing for users as the application doesn't produce any notifications. This pop-up does not appear on Catalina. How can I stop it appearing on Big Sur? I have tried setting NSUserNotificationAlertStyle to none in Info.plist but this hasn't made any difference.
Hi - I registered just to share my workaround as this audio popping issue has been beyond annoying... from my testing using a 3rd party audio driver stops this issue... I installed an app call Boom 3D and all pops are gone in speakers / headphones etc. Boom 3D is designed to enhance audio output. I have all the app audio enhancement features turned off - as I don't want my audio modified but there are 0 pops when using this audio driver / app. https://www.globaldelight.com/boom/ They have a trial so test it out if you want.

Hello,I have an iPad Pro 9.7. I had to go into the sound settings, toggle the Change With Buttons under the Settings/Sound section, restart. I might have had to do it twice, but buttons are working. The volume indicator still doesn't pop up when changing the volume, but it does actually seem to work.Good luck!M
