Reply to Configured Apple Sign Relay but not receiving emails
Hi @robevans, Please see the following documentation for more information: Configuring your environment for Sign in with Apple https://developer.apple.com/documentation/sign_in_with_apple/configuring_your_environment_for_sign_in_with_apple#3743946 For Sign in with Apple, the Private Email Relay Service is used to communicate to the private email addresses that users opt-in to providing your apps. As long as your email sources and domains are properly registered and their SPF and/or DKIM authentications are validated, there should be no message delivery issues. However, If there are configuration errors, you will receive a bounce back with a 550 5.1.1 Relay not allowed for or similar. Cheers, Paris X Pinkney |  WWDR | DTS Engineer

My app's update was rejected based on 5.1.1(v)
I have chatbot like app. First version was accepted and published on App store(First version required user to sign in with email). I have added few functionalities and they are account based. Besides Google and Apple ID sign in, which I have added to make access easier. (Requested by the users) The problem is that my update is being rejected base on 5.1.1(v) even though that first version had the same design and architecture, while completely ignoring the fact that new version has more account based functionalities. I have requested calls, nobody called me. I have sent more then 10 messages to explain how my app works and why it requires sign in. I haven't received any concise answer to those messages. Besides that they don't bother to address 5.1.1(v) part of any message I have sent them. I have submitted an appeal. I still haven't received any response to that neither. Besides explaining why my app needs account, I have listed other chatbot like apps, like ChatGPT. But I have also listed a

Rejected 5.1.1 Legal: Privacy - Data Collection and Storage
I received this notice when I submitted my app to the App Store: Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage The app requires users to register or log in to access features that are not account-based.Apps may not require users to enter personal information to function, except when directly relevant to the core functionality of the app or required by law. For example, an e-commerce app should let users browse store offerings and other features that are not account-based before being asked to register, or a restaurant app should allow users to explore the menu before placing an order. Registration must then only be required for account-specific features, such as saving items for future reference or placing an order. My app is not e-commerce and does not sell anything. We have partnered with my local university to build an app for their students. It requires a login to use the app because the user must be a student or staff member. The app is a discount app for local businesses. The

App Rejection to User Login
Hi There, we have an app that provides music and podcasts that we are licensed to provide , we depend on users to be logged in for our personalisation and recommendation engine to profile correctly both across the mobile app and web experience We have not had any issues for the last 7 years until now, receiving the app review rejection below. We have replied with multiple explanations why we require user login as mandatory and have identical apps that do the same, however we are told that we can log a complaint against those dont comply , but they cannot indicate what is different to our app. The response is below, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Hello, Thank you for your reply. Regarding 5.1.1 issue, your app requires users to register or log in to access features that are not account based. To resolve this issue, it would be appropriate to revise the app to let users freely access the app's features that are not account based. We are not able to provide feedback on app concepts or feat

Reply to Casino app appears on appstore
Gambling apps are not forbidden nor censored but strictly controlled. See guidelines 5.1.1: (ix) Apps that provide services in highly regulated fields (such as banking and financial services, healthcare, gambling, legal cannabis use, and air travel) or that require sensitive user information should be submitted by a legal entity that provides the services, and not by an individual developer. Do you know if those apps follow those rules ? If you know they don't (but how could you ?), you could file a bug report.

Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage The app requires users to register or log in to access features that are not account based.
Hello, My app has gotten rejected because of guideline 5.1.1. My app required an account and a subscription to be used. Can someone please let me know how they were able to get approved? Would adding Apple sign in work? Would letting the user browse the empty app work? They cant of anything without a subscription so I don’t know why this is getting declined. I’ve asked if any of them would comply but the reviewer says they won’t offer any suggestions on app design, when that wasn’t the question. I just wanted to know if anything would make the app comply before I waste my time implementing anything.

IOS : App rejected for violating location new Guidelines
Guideline 2.1 - Performance - App Completeness Your app did not load its contents and the activity indicator spun indefinitely when we tapped Don't Allow when prompted for permission to use current location. If location information is required, it is necessary to display a notification or alert indicating this requirement. Next Steps To resolve this issue, please revise your app to either enable functionality when a user opts out of providing location information or include an alert that this information is required. Resources For more information on Location Services, please review the section, Determining Whether Location Services are Available in the Location and Maps Programming Guide. For a networking overview, review About Networking. Guideline 2.1 - Information Needed We’re looking forward to reviewing your app, but we were unable to sign in with the following demo account credentials you provided in App Store Connect: User name: 8015965494 Password: 8015965494 To avoid delays in App Review, it is esse

Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage
Hi, I have an issue with App submission. My flow is: show third party cookie consent banner (is an external SDK) show ATT Apple with this message Allowing tracking will enable more personalized ads for you. Apple says this: You collect data to track after the user selects Ask App Not to Track on the App Tracking Transparency permission request. Specifically, we noticed the app accesses web content you own and collects cookies for tracking after the user asked you not to track them. Next Steps To resolve this issue, please revise the app so that you do not collect data for tracking purposes if the user does not give permission for tracking. Alternatively, if you do not collect cookies for tracking purposes, revise the cookie prompts that appear in the app to clarify you do not track users. in the rejection they put the ATT alert and the third party banner as the screen Do you have any input on this as Apple never says things clearly about what the problem is. Thank you

Rejected due to having User Registration to use the App
Hello, I have been stumped on this issue for a week and am looking for guidance on how to resolve it. I am aware of Guideline 5.1.1 Legal: Privacy - Data Collection and Storage and have read through it. The core functionality of our app is a Message Chatbot. This is the only feature we have, and we require user registration to limit the number of messages that can be sent on the free tier. However, despite explaining why we need user registration and pointing to a number of very similar apps that have the exact same registration system, we are not able to get approval from the App Reviewers. Their message is: To resolve this issue, please revise the app to let users freely access the app's features that are not account-based. The problem is that we do not have any other features in our app, so we are stuck. I was wondering if anyone else had similar issues and what they did to fix it? Thank you!

How to get around asking for DOB
We are trying to publish a peer to peer sharing app. Our T&C's require the users to be at least 18 years old since there is legality around the agreements between users. Apple keeps kicking this back and stating we should not ask them their age. How do we get around this? Here's what they keep referencing: Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage 5.1.1(v) Account Sign-In If your app doesn’t include significant account-based features, let people use it without a login. If your app supports account creation, you must also offer account deletion within the app. Apps may not require users to enter personal information to function, except when directly relevant to the core functionality of the app or required by law. If your core app functionality is not related to a specific social network (e.g. Facebook, WeChat, Weibo, Twitter, etc.), you must provide access without a login or via another mechanism. Pulling basic profile information, sharing to the social network, or

Publishing App for Third Parties
I work for a company that provides services implementing, maintaining, and publishing systems for municipalities. We have now developed an app for a municipality, but when trying to publish it, Apple is rejecting it, stating that we cannot publish on behalf of another company. On the first submission, they rejected it with: Guideline 4.1 - Design - Copycats The app or its metadata appears to contain potentially misleading content. Specifically, the app includes content that resembles Sistema da Prefeitura without the necessary authorization. Next Steps Please demonstrate your relationship with any third-party brand owners represented in the app. We obtained a digitally signed document from the municipality stating that we are responsible for their systems, authorizing everything, etc... We made a new submission for review. However, it was now rejected with: Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage The app must be published under a seller and company name that is associated with

Reply to Feedback form
Feedback is critical, Critical to you or to the user ? 2 thoughts: In Europe you have to comply with GDPR regulation on privacy See guideline 5.1.1 (ii) Permission: Apps that collect user or usage data must secure user consent for the collection, even if such data is considered to be anonymous at the time of or immediately following collection. Paid functionality must not be dependent on or require a user to grant access to this data. Apps must also provide the customer with an easily accessible and understandable way to withdraw consent. Ensure your purpose strings clearly and completely describe your use of the data. Apps that collect data for a legitimate interest without consent by relying on the terms of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) or similar statute must comply with all terms of that law. Learn more about Requesting Permission (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/uikit/protecting_the_user_s_privacy/).
